A/N: Yeah, this is a really early update, but I couldn't wait with this one. 😅

The character is reading a book or watching a movie on their phone/tablet or playing a game (kinda like Get in the Game, to a certain-someone-who's-reading-this), and touches the page or screen, getting themself placed into the story at that part.

This one can be used at any point in any fandom, or any point in history, if you do it right. My example is only one out of millions of scenarios, so use your imagination!

"Shard kzt to N-Nicole...copy?"

"I copy, but your signal is weak! Are you okay?"

"Haha--no. No, I n-need an emergency pick-up. G-great kshk Wastes."

Nina held the page tight, eyes glued in suspense as the hero lay on the ground, wounded. "No! Not you, Shard! You can make it! This can't be the end! You basically just came in! They can't get rid of you yet!"

"Hang on! I've got agents on the way!"

"Tell them...w-warn them...Metal kzzk more dangerous. Eggman will...szk rebuild...more than a weapon now...much more..."

Nina bit her lip as the feels got to her. She wished that she could fix him up, make him all brand new and shiny, but then she reminded herself that it was just a story. Nicole and Uncle Chuck would probably fix him up and he'd end up being all right. Still being attacked by feels, she turned back a few pages to see him whole again, using her hand as a bookmark. Suddenly, there was a flash of green light, and then she found herself stuck in Shard's crystal matrix. "Uh oh, bad timing! What happened? Why am I inside...oh no. Another genesis wave is coming! And I'm trapped in here, and Shard is going offli-"

Then everything went black.
