It had been close to a week since you first met the Shane, David, Frankie, Jamie and Roy... the guys, and you've all been busy with the both mystery goops you'd found and brought back to them for science. Roy says there is a similarly between the two, but you all just need to figure out why the similarity exists, and by you all, I totally mean just Roy.

And going up on the roof became a daily ritual. Eventually you even started to leave stuff up there, like an occasional blanket and bag of candy... And your sanity!!

It hadn't even been that long since you last saw that turtle but it was driving you crazy that there were so many goddamn unanswered questions, It was consuming your thoughts and made it extremely difficult to focus on anything but, and your paranoia had skyrocketed because whenever your home alone you began to hear things and always had the eerie feeling that something was watching you. Your professors pointed it out, Floyd pointed it out... Hell even Jamie figured something was up with you, and you haven't even known him for a week.

When you thought about it, really the only time you found yourself to actually relax was being alone on the rooftop in your favourite pair of pants.

Maybe a sandwich, depending on your mood.

Currently you were sitting on the roof and had already screamed out your nonsense at the top of your lungs, hoping the turtles might here you and possibly come out of hiding. But you knew it was incredibly unlikely you'd actually find them like that so you started saying things a crazy person would say to see how your neighbors would react to it.

Really the idea of yelling for the turtle had melted into a tool for irritating the shit out everyone. Tonight someone even threw a partially opened package of Dunk-a-roos.

However you didn't eat it (no matter how much you wanted too) because it wasn't hard to believe that there could be something funky done to it... Couldn't exactly blame them if they did either since you were sorta becoming a daily public nuisance. So you skillfully threw it across the alley back into the window it came from. It got a few astonished gasp from on lookers in different windows, one kid even started clapping and yelled excitedly "Is that LeBron James?!"

But aside from that it had been a classically uneventful evening sitting up there, in fact your were about ready to head in for the night. Ruefully you picked up you blanket and tucked your phone into your back pocket.

"Y/n?" You heard you name called just as Floyd poked his head up from over the ledge. "Y/n, what're you doing still up here?" He asked tilting his head, making some of his hair floof to one a side.

"Uh, just hanging out..." You said with a passive shrug. He sighed and climbed all the way up and sat on the edge, then pat the area beside him as he looked at you over his shoulder with his soft eyes.

A slight smile crossed your face and you walked over, sitting yourself next to him. He intertwined his fingers together and tiredly smiled at you. "So, what exactly have you been doing up here all the time?"

The look in his eyes told you that he knew the purpose of you being up here all the time, but just needed confirmation or denial from you.

So being the little shit you are, you avoided it with expertly executed grace.

"Today, a neighbor kid asked me if I was LeBron James." You said in a nonchalant way as you grabbed your water bottle. "Also I may be a little drunk." You exaggerated, truly only a bit tipsy from the wine that was hidden in the water bottle with you. A dopey grin crossed your face as you flexed your biceps, puffing out your chest. "Livin' the New York Liiiife!!!" Then you made a completely douchebag sound that related somewhat to a deep bark mixed with a howl mixed with a frat boy. Mostly just to get on Floyd's nerves.

Floyd waved his hands around. Trying to shut you up. "Shhh-What're you doing!? Do you want do be hated by the whole neighborhood?!"

You snorted at his pitiful ignorence. "Ha! Already there." Just as you said that a winter boot was thrown hitting Floyd in the shin, prompting a surprised cry from him "Ah! What the hell Y/n!?"

Pulling the water bottle away from your mouth you frowned while laughing. "What?! I didn't throw the boot!"

The young man's frown melted into a small smile then a chuckle as he shook his head, then snatched the wine from your hand. "Gimme that." He huffed as you gave it up without any real objection, he took a long, thirsting sip from it.

You grinned and leaned back on the palms of your hands looking out over the smog blanketed city you'd grown to love.

"It seems like we haven't really talked in a long time." You muttered out, making him look at you for a moment with a small unreadable look before turning forwards, glancing at the wine then out out over the city, resting his elbows on his thighs. "Yeah..." he muttered before he tipped his head up for another quick swig of the alcohol.

Letting your head lull back, you painfully swallowed your pride. "I..." You paused, trying to get the words out right then groaned. "I know I've been obsessing about this turtle thing and I'm sorry that's it's gotten in the way of us hanging out." You said, pulling your head back up to look at Floyd's slouched back as he fiddled with the bottle.

He shook his head with a small sigh. "It's fine Y/n, I get that this is a thing you do now, but I'm just scared this thing is pushing us apart if that makes any sense." You sat up and inspected his profile "You know that's it's not even been a week yet right?"

He nodded "I know, I just don't like sharing I guess." He laughed and drank more wine making you laugh "I think you should make more friends so you don't have to worry about me so much, like Polly!" You cheered him on with a wiggle of your eyebrows, taking the drink from him. Your words made a deep red colour bloom on his face as he wrung his hands out, nervous at the mention of her name in such a suggestive way.

He hurriedly put the conversation back on track. "I'll stop bugging you about being such a weirdo about turtles, if we hang out soon, deal?" He asked returning his look back to you.

A smile started to grow as you took a moment before sticking your hand out to him in a businessey type fashion. He grinned and gladly accepted the hand shake.

"Deal." You finalized, firmly giving each other a single, strong shake downwards.

As he pulled his hand back a relived grin spread across his face "Well, I'm glad we're on the same page before we grew apart or something." Floyd joked, earning a small chuckle from you as you shoved his shoulder playfully. "Oh Floyd, you worry too much. It's not like a new hobby could tear us apart!" Taking a swig of wine made you come up with another idea of sorts. "Mmh! Plus, I won't even talk about it around you so you can pretend I don't sound like I'm off my rocker."

His smile was slightly forced, but he got along fine and shrugged "I mean, until you have this turtle bagged, I feel like that'll be for the best." He lightly laughed as he rubbed the back of his neck. You nodded "Okay Floyd."

With one last grin he clapped his hand on your back. "Well, I better get to sleep, got class in the morning." He sluggishly made his way down the ladder to the fire escape.

However right before he went any farther down the rickety metal stairs you spoke up "Hey Floyd?" He stopped and looked back up at you with sleepy eyes. "Yeah Y/n?"

"Thanks, for not sending me to an insane asylum or something. I know it's sorta hard to get, I'd be sorta concerned about anyone who believed in this stuff a few weeks ago but you've been surprisingly chill about it. So... Thanks. I appreciate it."

The blond man let your words sink in as a trace of a smile slid into his expression. "Well hey, I know you, and you wouldn't do something like this unless it you're absolutely sure of it." He paused for a moment before laughing lightly, running a hand through his blond locks "I just need the proof, then I'll be on board."

You nodded gratefully at him. "Goodnight dude." He smiled "Goodnight... Don't stay up there too much longer okay? It's a little chilly."

Oh Floyd, What a mom.

"Okay, I will." You replied, reassuringly.

He grinned happily up at you. "See you tomorrow." And with that he walked down the stairs to the window that led to your apartment and slipped inside, leaving it slightly ajar for you.

You huffed lightly then let out a small breath, watching it crystallize as it floated along into the smog filled night. Even if he was being a total mom, Floyd was right that it was getting a little chilly out. But it was a nice chill, one that didn't quite make you shiver but still challenged the alcohol in your system.

Floyd... He'd been worried about you ever since that night, you'd been more distant, missing your work hours, obsessing over every little detail from that night, wondering if it was a clue of some sort, all just to get a chance to find giant ninja turtles that you quite possibly will never see again if they don't want you to.

The more you thought about it, the more you wondered if it was even worth getting all worked up about. Sure it was probably the peak coolness among the piles of less than interesting things that have happened in your life, but were you really willing to give up all the time you had left just for a less than probable chance of even seeing them again?

With a small shake of your head you realized this was going to go down in your history book as 'The Week of Insanity', and Floyd would probably bring it up in conversation whenever your parents visited just to embarrass the hell out of you. Just thinking about it was embarrassing.

"Oh man, I can't believe I was gonna waste my life on this." You muttered, only then understanding how fucking weird you were acting.

Hopefully I'm not fired.

Just as you were about to head down, a sudden clatter from the alleyway on the opposite side of the building stopped, frozen still. Quickly you whipped around and pulled out your phone, running to the other side as your mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was a mutant turtle.

By now you'd completely forgotten the promise about this very situation you'd made to yourself not two minutes ago.

Holy shit! Oh my god! The gang is gonna love this!

You mentally paused for a second or two.

Wait a minute... Did I just call the conspiracy club 'The Gang'?

Lost in your small self loathing moment you stumbled a bit towards the edge. Your heart sped as you started stumbling forward a tad too far as you rapidly got closer to the edge.

Your mind quickly decided that face planting would be way better than falling three stories and dying. So you let your body bail from trying to regain your balance and in turn, landed on the ground, making your phone slide over the edge.

However you had no time to mourn as you were too late on the bail and the top half of your body found itself over the edge. "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!" You cried out as you desperately tried to use what core muscles you had to possibly bend back and put more weight on the side that was not dangling over a three story drop while your arms uselessly flung around in panic.

And there you went, plummeting down towards the dirty alley you were going to be found the next morning, dead with a broken neck. "Oh fuck me." You cursed, apparently content with that being your dying words, but since your impending death was sort of the most embarassing way to die and anything you said couldn't really add any sort of class or grace to it.

However, something snagged you firmly, and slightly awkwardly, around the chest (making your arms shoot out in front of you giving you some strong baby Simba vibes) effectively winding you and saving you from the pathetic end you were fully expecting.

The thing that grabbed you seemed to already be moving up once it got you. As you blinked away your delirious state, you forced yourself to try and figure out what was happening.

You knew it was someone who caught you because of the arm you could spot, however you couldn't exactly see who caught you since your back was against their extremely hard stomach. You couldn't help but smile a little at the thought of someone hot saving you.

Abs... Noice!

Once you both landed atop the roof again the back of your head clonked against the saviour chest.

Rock hard pecks that can give me a concussion! Double Noice!

It took a moment, but it finally sunk in that no person could have such a hard body unless it was armor of some kind... Turtle armor.

As the now noticeably green arm unwrapped from you, trying to keep you steady, you quickly whirled around on the figure. Low and behold, the same goddamn turtle, with the same blue mask that does literally the opposite of concealing an identity. "Y-You're-!"

He seemed to be trying to calm you down as he had his large green hands stretched out towards you. You frantically dug around in your pockets for your phone that you just remembered had fallen off the building. "I've been- I-I thought-"

The turtle slowly pulled something from the belt he was wearing and began to walk towards you. "F-FLOYD!! FLOYD GET UP HERE!!"

There was a clattered followed by a loud call from the blond man. "Y/n?!"

The turtle's eyes seemed to widen at you then looked to the fire escape Floyd was embarrassingly fumbling up on. You stumbled back from the turtle, still shocked that he was there, that what you were doing may have been actually working, that was until you fell back and landed flat on your ass.

When you looked back at where the turtle was standing, he had vanished. "What...?" You muttered in awe and disbelief.

Meanwhile Floyd was huffing as he hauled his body on-top of the building "What? What's going on Y/n?! What happened?!?" He asked, hurrying towards you and kneeling by your side "Dude what's wrong?!" He asked frantically.

You on the other hand were no longer feeling any sort of fear, just anger. Towards the turtle, Floyd and especially yourself.

"What the fuck?!" You stood up, walking towards where the turtle was a second ago. Floyd's eyes followed you with intense concern. "Y/n?" You put your hands on either side of your head, elbows straight out. "You've got to be fucking kidding me!!" You yelled out irritatedly.

"What?! What's wrong?!" The man child asked quickly. You turned to him, pointing back at the very spot the turtle was standing.

"The-! The turtle! He was just-" you paused and thought about how crazy you looked. Obviously defeated you slumped over with a groan. "Nevermind. Let's just get back inside." You ignored his concerned look while walking past him and headed down the fire escape. You took one last look around the roof before descending.

As Floyd locked the window behind you both, you spoke up. "Look I'm sorry I woke you up, I won't do that again."

However he shook his head at your agitated apology. "Y/n, cool it." His stare was unreadable as he looked at you with his arms loosely crossed over his chest. "I'm not mad, I am just, admittedly, scared for you. I didn't want to say this before but now I feel like I have to." He took a breath and you were about to start talking, hopefully stop him from saying what you'd been fearing he'd say. "Flyod It wasn't anything it was jus-"

"Just a what Y/n? Are you gonna deny you thought you saw a giant turtle?!" He snapped at you, something he wouldn't do unless he was genuinely concerned about you, and that had you concerned.

"I know it's hard to hear but I think the trauma from that party is still hanging around in your mind, and that really does not help with all the pressure being put on you from your schooling and tuition and bills and all that." He took a quick moment to compose himself before speaking again with a lot more firmness in his voice and straightened his spine, standing taller. "I really think you need to talk to a professional."

You understood his worry, you really did, and it was somewhat heartwarming having him snap at you like that, no matter how strange that sounds.

But you weren't just some crazy bitch off the street, you knew these turtles were real, and you knew it sounded crazy talking about it, which made you wish Floyd had never known about it.

Still... The suggestion really burned your cheese.

"Floyd! Fuck off! I'm sorry! I didn't mean that! But fuck! Again! I'm sorry! I just need you to trust me, I'm fully aware of how crazy it sounds but you need to trust me! Please! If I don't get proffered of these turtles' exsitance by the end of the month I will go to a shrink! But if I do, you will have to take me out to a nice dinner with whoever I want and I will be whoever I want to be and you have to roll with it!" You stated boldly, holding your hand out for him to shake.

You were really hoping he'd agree to how much time you were asking for because you were just starting out and any time less than that would be a bit of a stretch for you. Plus if you didn't win you had to actually have the money to pay for the time of the therapist. Because, again, being a college student made you pretty much, constantly broke.

Floyd sighed then threw his hand into yours. "Fine whatever! It's a deal." He said, shaking your hand aggressively, with a tight warning squeeze. "Be ready to get your mind to get turtle waxed next month." He said with a tone that suggested an attempt at trash talk to which you scoffed at. "Ha! Hope your humour can get you through a night on the town with your parents!" His eyes widened. "You will also be accompanied by the local lady if the night 'Candi Cain' who just so happens to be living with you." You exclaimed, pointing to yourself.

He was filled with a deep sense of settling panic and quickly jumped to try and debunk what you'd said. "You wouldn't sacrifice your dignity to be bitter!" He exclaimed, recoiling his hand from yours.

You laughed darkly at him. "What dignity."

He visibly shivered before shaking his head "Whatever, they don't exist so this'll be a piece of cake."

"You can only pray they aren't." You threatened. Floyd laughed nervously before quickly fake yawning "Oh man, what a day! I think I'm gonna pack it in now. Good night Y/n!"

"Goodnight Floyd." You replied with a chuckle as you both headed for your respective rooms.

You slipped into your pajamas, now with a new fire of determination lit in you, totally ready to rub your soon to be victory in your roommates dumb face.

With one final yawn you tossed yourself into you bed. However, right before you dozed off, your mind couldn't help but wonder why the blue masked turtle was in that alley, why he saved you yet again, and why did you forget to grab your fucking phone from the alleyway it dropped into. Fuck.
