I questioned his motives, his every word
He always had a clever reply.
They flowed as easily as his affection
And I struggled to see the reasons why.

But soon my doubts became too great
And I found that I could no longer stay.

I believed in his words...
happiness and love within me stirred

Eventually the truth was laid bare,
As his lies unraveled, tainting the air.

Now I see him as he truly is,
The liar, a deceiver, a man he wasn't

For all that he awakened was never meant to be
And his dishonesty has left me feeling delusory.

For how could I trust someone who lies?
How it doesn't eat him up inside ?
So, I'm walking away, leaving him behind...

I was just one in a long line,
another woman who'd fallen because she was blind

So ...goodbye to the liar with many lovers,
My heart now broken but free from his covers,
I'll never again fall prey to his deception,
for my heart returns now to the art of selection.
