Another rival has arrived!!
Flame's POV:
The next morning I awoke to some pressure on top of me. I looked over my shoulder and saw Starfish. My eyes widened and I quickly looked the other way. My face was heating up and so was my fur. It made Starfish jump up in surprise.
"Ow!!! What was that for!!!" I herd her yell at me, and thing I know my fur is turned of. I was soaking wet. Since when can she access her water powers? And of course I yelled back at her.
"What the hell was that for Starfish!!!" I quickly stood up in defense.
"That was for payback, Flame!"
"It was by accident!"
"Yhea Right." She sighed heavily and looked upset somehow. I felt guilty in a sudden, I don't know why. I walked up to her and said something I thought I would never say.
"Starfish, I-i'm s-sorry." I expected for her to laugh, but instead I felt a warm body snuggle up against me. I began blushing madly, that my whole fur was on fire. But before I burned her she was pouring water on me from her wing. I then snuggled with her, not being bothered that I'm getting water splashed on me.
"Its alright Flame. I should have known better than to get you angry.
Starfish's POV:
When Flame apologized to me I was surprised that he was actually saying this. Was the once proud fire wolf actually admitting that he did something? My heart was racing and felt Flame was heating up. I snuggled with him and poured water on him. I was blushing madly that I was actually hugging him for the first time. He was always strict but I still loved him.
"Its alright Flame. I should have known better than to get you angry." I blushed more as I said this. I felt him snuggle with me after a while. It was comforting, until that tree-loving-brat woke up.
Flame's POV:
I was enjoying until that little-rug rat woke up. Before I left to attend little rug-rat I whispered in her ear.
"We'll continue this right after." I left leaving Starfish flustered. I chuckled at her cute flustered face. Then sighed heavily going to Spring. Yes Spring was now the pups name. Once I reached her I greeted her like I formally do.
"Good morning, Spring. Sorry for not introducing myself properly. My name is Flame, as you can see I am a wolf of fire. That over there is Starfish, she is a wolf of water. We are elements as for you, you are the same as us. But you are a wolf of nature. Your name is Spring, welcome to our family."
Spring seemed confused, so I sighed in frustration.
"In conclusion we are element wolves. Fire, water, and nature. You are nature, your name Spring. My name's Flame. Her-"
I was interrupted by Starfish introducing herself.
"And I'm Starfish, element of water." Her voice somehow changed. It was stern and more grownup. I cleared my throat when I saw that Spring had a face of disgust.
"We must get going now."
"Where?"
I herd Starfish respond for me. "We are going to walk for our morning routine."
When Spring responded to her it ticked me off. Such inappropriate tone of voice for a young lady! "Ptt, since when do you order me around" I herd Starfish growl in response.
"OK, THAT'S ENOUGH OUT OF YOU, YOUNG LADY!!!!" My fur exploded with fire it was practically mostly smoke that filled up the cave. I quickly grabbed Spring in my jaws and pushed Starfish out of the cave.
Spring's POV:
When I herd Flame's voice rise and the explosion happen. I got frightened I didn't move. Until I felt teeth wrap around me. I saw that Flame's eyes were glowing bright red. He looked scary. I then felt something bump against me, knowing that it was Starfish I felt disgusted. Next thing I know we were out of the cave, and I was dropped to the ground safely.
Starfish's POV:
I got frightened of Flame's sudden outburst. I didn't move until I felt Flame pish me out of the cave in a hurry. I looked at Flame once we were out. He was attending Spring if she had any injuries. And as expected she was crying.
"I'm so sorry, Flame!!! I promise I'll talk back to her!!!" She was pleading with everything she had. But Flame didn't approve of it easily.
"You shouldn't be apologizing to me! You should be apologizing to her!" His expression softened and he did a double check on her. When he finished he came over to me and I backed away from him.
3rd POV:
Flame seemed confused of why Starfish was backing away.
"Starfish hold still I need to check if you got hurt." Starfish stood in place, trying to hide her burnt wing. Flame turned off his fire completely and checked if she was hurt.
"Starfish let me see your wing, now." Spring grew jealous of her. Getting all off his attention. Starfish hesitated but then opened her right wing. The top of her wing was burnt all the way to the her flesh. Flame felt pained by this view. How could he do such a thing to his loved one. He tried to hold his tears but one managed to fall from his cheek. It turned to black stone before it touched the ground.
"Flame are you ok?" Asked Starfish, her voice full of concern. Flame stiffened and looked at her. But before he spoke Spring stood up and walked up to Starfish.
"I'm sorry Starfish. If I wouldn't of talked back to you, this wouldn't of happened." Spring apologized, followed by a stream of tears. Flame couldn't believe his ears. Was she really apologizing? Or was she acting? Starfish, being a forgiving soul cleaned Spring's tears away.
"Its alright Spring. Accidents happen, and I'm sure you learned an important lesson from this." Spring nodded her head and hugged her front paw. Starfish wrapped her good wing around Spring. Flame joined them in the hug, staying there until the smoke cleared out.
~Years Later~
Years have passed and things have changed. Starfish's wing healed returning back to its beautiful state. Spring grew up to be a young beautiful wolf. She learned how to fly thanks to Starfish's help. Flame not much about him but he begun to be more open to others. But not to open.
The world they lived in began to take form a forest began growing, streams were flowing through. And lucky for Flame, Spring was able to create a place, especialized, for him only. He now lived in that place during the afternoons and night.
One morning in particular it was really windy. The three adults were resting underneath a huge tree. They called it the Great tree. It was the biggest one in the forest and best of all it grew in the middle of a meadow. It was silent, and the one to always break it was Spring.
"Why are you always serious, Flame?" Spring asked in her sweet, soft voice. Flame looked at her with red glowing eyes. He always got annoyed when Spring asked him questions.
"Why must you always ask me questions? Its infuriating." Stated Flame with an annoyed tone. "Any way its just the way I am. And may I ask you, why do you speak in such a child like manor?" Spring took so much offense and huffed.
"Hmp!" She quickly looked away. Starfish as always was looking at him. She daydreamed about her and him, being together, alone.
"What is on your mind, Starfish?" Flame asked, startling Starfish.
"Oh, um, nothing! I was just wondereing if I were going to be able to breath underwater." Flame stood up and headed towards a river that was nearby. Starfish was confused at this.
"Lets test it out." Flame said as he gestured towards the river. Starfish walked up to him and jumped in. She dived under spreading her wings so she can glide under water. She soon ran out of air, and not being able to surface, she gasped for air. Her lungs filled up with water she was about to go up till she relized that she could breath under water.
She looked up to see that Flame was looking down at her. She thought he was worried, so she surfaced flying out of the water and landing safely on the ground. She shook the water off of her, getting some drops on Flame. Steam came from him which made him sigh.
"Were you able to breathe down there?"
"Yes I was!" Flame chuckled at her response.
"Good to know."
Flame's POV:
I'm glad Starfish was able to breath under water. But the windy weather is troubling me. Is the new element of wind coming already? Its indeed too early for the next one to come. But its up to the great ones up there who bring us down here whenever they please.
"Listen up you two." As soon as I said this they looked up. "The new pup is on his way. This time its the last element, wind."
Spring started exclaiming about things I did not care for. "What! But isn't there enough of us already!!" Starfish spoke up complaining about her.
"Spring don't you ever shut up!!" She began growling and Spring did the same towards her. My fur starting shining brighter, indicating that I was losing my patience.
"Silence!" I yelled out making the two wolves turn their attention to me. "Now listen, the new pup will be here any second now, that is why I have been staying here longer than usual." As I spoke I went back to where I was sitting.
The two gave each other one last death stare and sat back down. Having their backs facing towards each other.
3rd POV:
A sudden gust of wind blew in their direction, putting out Flame's fur completly. A light blush could be seen on Starfish's face. She loved it when his fur was completly black. It glisten in the sunlight unlike anything else. Spring, on the other hand, didn't like it. To her it seemed like bottomless pit of never ending sorrow.
What flame did next surprised the two girls. He stood up from his place and shook his fur. A lot of ash fell off and landed on the ground. A small tornado formed in front of him, from there two wings sprouted. The small body of a pup began to take form. The wind began to form on the body, leaving the back paws completly black and the tip of the tail as well. Two red spots were on the face for the eyes.
Flame commanded Starfish to fly up and to make it rain over the pups body,"Starfish, fly up and sprinkle water on the pup." Starfish nodded and did as told. As the drops fell on the pup, the ashes stayed in the pattern that the wind made, turning black just like Flame's fur. Starfish then landed near Flame and looked at the pup. Spring felt jealousy spread in her chest and she ran up next to him. But noticed the pup in front of them.
"Spring, I want you to flap your wings, making a delicate, soft breeze." Spring looked at him in surprise then nodded. She stood up on her back paws and lightly flapped her wings. The ashes started to fly off, leaving behind a sleeping pup on the soft green grass.
Starfish's POV:
"Flame? Why did the development of this pup take less time than ours'?" I asked Flame turning to face his focused stare at the pup. He seemed to focused that I guess he didn't hear me when I spoke to him. "Flame?" He then turned to me and looked a bit upset.
"It took less time because wind doesn't take that long to develop. Unlike me and Spring. You only took a few days." He then paused deep in thought, I love it when he does this. "But other than that, I don't think this pup will make it. We were too slow." I took it by surprise that he had admitted something was done wrong.
He hung his head and drooped his ears. I wanted to call out to him, but nothing came out. I looked at Spring, who was in tears. Looking at her almost made me loose hope. I quickly looked at the pup only to see it breathing softly.
"We can't give up on this pup!" I was surprised at my own words but remained calm. Flame looked up at me then lit up his fur. He took a deep breath and blew on the pup. He was breathing out fire on the pup's face!!
"What are you doing!? You're going to hurt the pup!!!!" I heard Spring yell at him before I could even react. Flame just ignored her and kept doing the same thing. She tried pushing him out of the way, but got burned in the process.
Spring's POV:
As I tried pushing out of the way I got burned by his fur. I yelped out in pain. Starfish came over to me full of concern.
"Are you alright?" I knew she was concerned, but I swore to keep her my enemie.
"What do I matter to you!!" I yelled at her. She rolled her eyes at me and said one more thing.
"Don't even try pushing him. He's to strong, even if we both try, he is just to strong." I had to admitt it, he is strong. You could see that packed muscle under all that fur. I sighed heavily and layed down by the tree. I just hope that pup can live. Not that it matters to me anyway!
'Hopefully Flame can help that pup.'
Flame's POV:
I was soon running out of breath. I wouldn't be able to keep it up much longer. I was feeling dizzy and weak, my fire was lowering. The pup started moving and I stopped. He opened his eyes sleepily, they were red like mine.
What was the meaning of this? Is he my half-brother in a way. It doesn't matter right now. I have to raise this pup, that means feeding it and discipline. But was I suppose to feed it wind??
I felt a presence behind me. I already knew that it Starfish. I didn't bother to turn around, I was too tired. I fell to the ground next to the pup, falling asleep. Last thing I herd was my name.
3rd POV:
"Flame!!" Starfish called out to Flame as he fell to the ground. She ran up to him checking if he was ok. Spring came up from behind worried about him.
"Spring, check up on him while I check up on the Pup, ok?" Starfish went to the pup as Spring checked on Flame. When Spring finished checking on him, she went to Starfish and asked her:
"Starfish, is the pup ok?"
"Flame saved the pup. Its breathing normally, heart beat normal, blood flow normal. He saved the pup!" Starfish replied with excitement. Spring couldn't believe that Flame almost sacraficed himself to save this pup.
"No wonder you love him so much. He's like a father to us." Spring said thoughtfully smiling slightly. Starfish looked at her in surprise then smiled sweetly.
"So what should we name the pup?"
"Huh? Shouldn't we wait for Flame to tell us the gender of the pup!?" Spring exclaimed not wanting to figure out the easy way.
"Yhea maybe we should."
~Hours Later~
Flame had finally woken up and the pup was already on his paws. He had surprisingly learned how to feed himself already. Starfish already explained everything to the pup.
"Flame, can you please figure out the pup's gender, I'm dying to know!!" Spring asked him impatiently. Flame grunted and called out to the pup. The pup immediatly ran to him and sat down.
"Yes Flame!?" Exclaimed the pup full of energy.
"Hmm, energitic pup I see." Flame said thoughtfully as he lowered down to his level and sniffed him. "He's a boy, girls. Just what I needed another trouble maker to take care of." With that he stood up looking down at the pup.
"Sir, what is my name?" The pup asked in curiosity. Flame's expression softened, he didn't like it when a child spoke in such strict manor.
"Don't refer to me as Sir. Call me Flame. And your name shall be Storm from now on." Flame responded in his softest voice that he could possibly speak in. Storm smiled energitcally at Flame.
"Alright Flame!! So where do I live??"
"Here with me." Flame responded. "Spring will later on create a place for you to live in once you grow older. Right now you will live under my protection in this tree." With that the pup walked up to him and hugged his front leg.
Flame's POV:
As Storm hugged my leg, I felt warmth growing in my chest again. I had the same feeling when I first Starfish and Spring. I hugged him back, then it was when I felt the two girls join in. I cleared my throat and anounced that it was time to sleep. I took storm by his tail and laid down near the tree. I wrapped myself around him and fell asleep. The two girls slept on either side, just to stay warm. It was still windy after all.
