Home Is Wherever I'm With You
Back at the Cortex with Team Flash and Joe, Caitlin projected the particulates found by Barry outside of Clay Parker's door.
The scientists animatedly went back and forth with science talk that neither Parker or Joe understood.
"Not even Barry's cells move that fast! I've never seen anything like it," Caitlin said.
Parker sat up in her chair; Joe stopped leaning on her chair. Finally, something they understood.
"Clay Parker is a meta-human?" Joe wondered.
He was scribbling notes on his notepad, since the CCPD was also on the case.
"No," Parker disagreed. "His name isn't on the list of people we know were affected, or the list of people who were within the property."
Dr.Wells nodded towards her. "She would be correct. The particulate residue Barry gathered at Iron Heights does contain Clay Parker's DNA, however, it also includes DNA of a woman."
"Run the DNA through the CCPD database, see if you get a match," Barry suggested to Parker.
A little keyboard clacking and three loading screens later, Parker found her.
"Shawna Baez," she introduced.
"Mostly petty crimes, and apparently she likes to party. Lots of disorderly conducts at local bars," Cisco further explained.
"So, if you find her, I'm guessing Clay will be there too," Parker predicted.
Smug at their team work, Parker flicked her wrist above her head and Cisco slapped her hand.
"Team Pisco is bad ass as usual," Cisco pointed out.
"Pisco is gross. Try Carker," At that, she scrunched her face. "Okay, I don't think we have a good bromance name."
"Barry?" Joe called, interrupting Barry's amused look at his girlfriend.
Joe gestured to the door, wanting to get a start on catching Clay Parker.
Barry snapped his fingers, getting his head back into the game.
Parker leaned her cheek in the air as he passed and he kissed it, bidding a farewell to everyone before he followed Joe out of the door.
"In the meantime, let's track the particulates and see how they work," Dr.Wells decided.
The scientists went to work on their scientific research on Shawna Baez's DNA.
Caitlin took the sample Barry brought and scurried into her own little lab, Cisco on her tail.
Dr.Wells stayed parked at the television, his palms touching, the tips of his middle fingers holding up his chin. He was in deep thought, it seemed.
Parker stayed quiet for the sake of his working brain. She launched two tabs of facial recognition on the computer and inserted pictures of both suspects.
Her fingers crawled behind the monitor to turn the volume up, ensuring it would alert her if/when a match was found.
Having nothing else to do, Parker started researching cool birthday party ideas.
It was only February twelfth, but Parker told Barry she had something very special planned, forcing her to actually have to do something huge.
Two hours later, Parker remained curled up in her chair, her finger rhythmically tapping on the mouse. Her eyes scrolled left to right across the screen, but nothing extravagant was catching her eye.
What did catch her eye was movement on the security cameras.
She gripped the desk with one hand and scooted her chair back, getting a clearer view of the computer beside her.
The Flash was running through the building.
As usual, there was no warning he was coming for Parker. She heard the crackling that followed his running first, then two arms swept her out of her chair. They were almost nose to nose, Parker's eyes wide from the abrupt pick up.
"Hi," Barry breathed, failing to hide his panting. "I need you."
The couple left S.T.A.R. Labs in seconds, without the rest of the team noticing.
Barry and Parker were at Iron Heights again.
The space for an inmate and visitors to speak was cramped, only fitting two provided chairs.
Parker was forced to sit on Barry's lap.
Joe held the telephone in between all three of them and for their sake, Henry spoke loudly into his phone, his eyes flicking between all three of them through the glass.
"Do you know a Marcus Stockheimer?"
In sync, Parker and Barry turned to Joe for further explanation.
"He's a main level gangster. Mainly works on the South side," Joe cautiously stated.
It sounded like there was a 'why?' following his statement, but he closed his mouth when Henry opened his.
"Word is that Clay was a runner for Marcus. When Clay got pinched, Marcus lost a lot of money. Marcus doesn't like losing money."
"So what?" Barry asked, leaning towards the phone. "Clay can't leave Central City until he's paid off his debts?"
"From what I'm told.. If you're part of the crew and you get out, you pay him as soon as you're free, or you suffer the consequences."
Barry's fingers on Parker's hip started to drum. She felt his chest rise, freeze, then fall. She moved her hand from her lap and locked her fingers with his sweaty palms. It was sticky and uncomfortable, but she pushed those facts aside.
"No more playing cop," Barry pleaded. "Promise me."
Henry's face fell. He slouched in his chair, nodding his head like a little ashamed puppy.
"I hear you, kid."

Barry's hands were stuffed into his jacket. His elbow was reaching away from his side, leaving Parker enough room to slip her arm through.
The couple stepped out of Iron Heights and into the chilly breeze of Central City.
Ever since he told her he was going to create a list of cute things she did, Parker started to pay attention to him more often to add moments to her own list.
Before, it was a mental list. After, there was an actual list tilted Adorable Barry Allen Moments on her cell phone.
His cute face was obviously on the list, but there were specific moments she loved about his face.
On that day, she found her second favorite face he pulled: the one when he was exposed to the sunlight. His face automatically scrunched, brow raised, his eyes squinted in an overall look that almost conveyed confusion.
Parker's tongue ran across her bottom lip, revealing a smile. She averted her eyes before Barry noticed her staring.
Since he knew about the List, everything on it would remain a secret.
"What are you planning to do?" Joe asked the couple.
"I'm going back to the Cortex," Barry answered.
"I'm actually going to stop by Jitters and visit Iris," Parker decided.
"I was there before I came for you. She'll be pleased to see us in the same day," Barry said. He unhooked his arm from hers and pecked her forehead.
"Mind giving me a ride?" Parker asked Joe.
"Not at all."

"Hi, Welcome to Jitters, how can I-- Oh, it's just you. What do you want?"
Parker shook her head. "Bad service. Zero out of ten. I'll do a bagel with regular cream cheese and orange juice."
"It's almost lunchtime. You sure you want breakfast?" Iris asked, pointing her notepad menacingly in Parker's face.
"I didn't catch breakfast this morning. Early investigation at Iron Heights," Parker explained.
"Yeah, prison break out, huh? I heard about it at work."
Parker made a noise that resembled a rewind button. Her eyes were wide with surprise. "You have a job that isn't Jitters?"
"I haven't told you?" Iris raised her eyebrows. "I got a job at Central City Picture News."
"I'm truly starting to doubt out friendship," Parker said.
She shook her head, racking her brain to figure out where the separation between them had happened.
Iris took a seat on the other side of Parker and clasped her hands together.
"We gained boyfriends, grew up and found jobs," Iris said.
"Still," Parker disagreed. "Sisters before misters. Chicks before dicks."
Iris rolled her eyes. "Lower your voice before we get some weird looks. But speaking of boyfriends.."
Parker threw her head back. "Nooo-"
"Yes! You have to tell me what's going on with Parry. I've heard nothing from you lately."
"Not much to tell. He's cool, I'm cool, we're cool."
Iris used her brown eyes to stare into the depths of Parker's soul, making her so uncomfortable that she went into babble mode.
Parker went on about the many nights that he spent at her house, how he cuddled her, she mentioned the List, their date the previous night, and she included a highly detailed story about her favorite make out session with him.
"I honestly never imagined you two getting together. You didn't seem compatible, you know? But you guys just.."
"..work very well together. It's surprising, I know," Parker finished, wearing a sheepish smile.
(Iris later found out it was because that was the first time Parker was able to go on about the cute things Barry does to someone other than herself.)
"He came in earlier. Said you two got to see his dad, without handcuffs and all. Then, he started babbling on about you and how he's so happy you and his dad get along. You've really made him happy."
"I know. He's done the same for me. I just feel so comfortable and safe and.."
"At home? Yeah, that's what my dad used to say about my mom," Iris mentioned, the mood becoming somber. "Another thing he asked me was about why you sit facing the door."
Parker's eyes widened. She uncomfortably shifted. "You didn't say anything..?"
"Of course I didn't. You've never told anyone about my mother, so I haven't said anything about your father. I just want you to know that it's okay to tell him. Barry Allen is such a good man. You can trust him with that."
The girls chatted for a while longer about Barry and about Iris' job. There was one point where Iris told about her plan to take a picture of the Flash next time they met.
Parker had been tilting her head back to catch the last drops of her drink. As soon as her ears heard that last line, Parker's eyes snapped to meet Iris'.
"Excuse me? Next time you meet?"
"We used to meet up sometimes. I would interview, he would avoid.. But I called it off when he beat up Eddie," Iris explained, like it was nothing, and proceeded with her story.
Parker plastered on a polite smile for Iris. Inside, she was preparing to set Barry up for punishment.
Cisco called about ten minutes later, sounding rushed. "Hey, Caitlin wanted me to call you and tell you that Barry just went on a mission. I guess these two smooth criminals--"
"Isn't that a song?" Parker asked, her train of thought falling off the rails.
Cisco stayed quiet for a second before he sang, "Annie, are you okay.. Are you okay, Annie?"
"You've been hit by, you've been struck by, a smooth criminal.." Parker finished. She shook her head and got back into serious mode. "Okay, okay. So why couldn't Caitlin call me?"
"She's helping Barry with his bullet wound--"
"His what?!" Parker shouted. In the abrupt news, her hand squeezed the styrofoam cup, crushing it. "I am going to kick his--"
"Parker!" Iris whispered.
Parker shrunk down in her chair when she realized that the residents at Jitters all focused on her.
Parker grabbed her coat and gave Iris-- whose brow was scrunched in confusion-- a half hug.
"Barry stuff," Parker explained. She made sure to give herself a longer period of time to ensure she could create a great lie and said, "I'll tell you more about it later. Love you, bye!"
>>>>>>>
Parker briskly walked through the hallways of S.T.A.R. Labs.
Her aggrivated attitude unintentionally made her footsteps sound like stomping, something she wasn't aiming to do.
"You're lucky it just broke the surface. Parker would kill you if you actually ended up shot," Parker heard as she entered the floor. That was Caitlin speaking.
"Guess I'm a lot faster than a speeding bullet."
Parker entered the sliding doors, her pointer finger stretched accusingly at Barry.
"Wrong, Allen! Because if you were faster than a speeding bullet, then you would have avoided that completely! How did you miss the sound of the gun cocking, or the sound of it actually shooting?! Are you--"
In true romantic fashion, Parker stomped towards his seat on the medical table and Barry took her wrist and pulled her into his lips.
While quite enjoyable, it was also a lame tactic to get her to calm down.
She ended up kissing back, but she pulled away after a moment. They stared into each others eyes; Barry smug and Parker annoyed.
"You were on double punishment when I came in. I'll let one go just because that was a good move. But you're still on punishment."
Barry pecked her lips once more and spun her hips around, pulling her back against his chest.
Dr.Wells rolled out of the Cortex for a mission report.
"Shawna Baez can teleport," Barry told the three team members.
"As in, "Beam me up, Shawna?'" Caitlin asked.
For a moment, Parker forgot Barry and looked at Caitlin, wildly impressed.
"You've seen Star Trek? Dude, major points."
"Quantum entanglement: the ability to manipulate interconnected particles over an infinite distance. Or, as Einstein put it, 'spooky action at a distance," Dr.Wells elaborated, first in science terms and secondly, for Parker's sake.
"Every time I got closer, she'd disappear. It was like we were playing a game of--"
"Peek-a-Boo?" Caitlin cut in excitedly. "Come on, let me name one.."
"One," Parker agreed, pretending to be very hesitant about it.
"How am I supposed to catch her if I don't know where she's going to be?"
Every single time a new meta-human would surface, Barry would get pummeled, come back to the Cortex and utter those words: "How am I suppose to catch said meta-human if s/he does(insert power)?"
Parker decided next time it happened, she would quote him while he said it.
"Everybody has limits, Mr.Allen. Now that we know she has powers, we'll focus on those limits."
Barry decided to take a break from meta-human hunting for the night. He left to see if Iris wanted to hang out and Parker stayed cooped up in the Cortex.
Caitlin retreated into her little lab to take a closer look at the sample of DNA with her (many, many) microscopes. She hadn't said anything about leaving her alone, so Parker followed.
Caitlin was a surprisingly great multitasker. She worked efficiently and kept the conversation going with Parker.
Although, if we were reliving that situation accurately, it was probably Parker babbling and Caitlin nodding her head when necessary.
Caitlin's phone rang, cutting off Parker in the middle of a story about grocery shopping with Barry.
"Would you mind getting that?" Caitlin asked.
Parker grabbed Caitlin's phone and slid the green button across the screen, clicking the speaker button.
"Hi, honey."
"Parker! Hey. Iris was already busy. Do you know the bars that Shawna and Clay frequently visited?"
"Give me a sec," Parker said. She took the phone and jogged to her computer, scanning through the places of arrest on Shawna's CCPD file. "Seems like it's mostly South side dive bars, bro."
"I was just gonna check them out.. See if they follow any old habits."
"That's actually a really good idea," Parker praised.
She took a step back, looking into Caitlin's lab. A smirk teased at one side of her smile.
"Caitlin and I will join you."
