Highs and Lows

While Barry meant he didn't want to let go of their relationship, he also literally, didn't let go of Parker until the morning.

Cuddling underneath the regular five blankets, they slipped back into the routine of telling jokes until somebody fell asleep first.

In a slow tone, her face half smashed against the pillow, Parker started with, "If the Flash got a dog, what do you think his name would be?"

"What would it be?"

"Bolt."

"Funny," Barry said, though there was no amusement in his voice. "Ever tried to eat a clock? I hear it's very time consuming."

Parker smiled. "Punny."

With no energy to think of another joke, she closed her eyes, falling asleep rather quickly.

In the morning, Parker woke due to an indirect summoning from Cisco Ramon. He had called for Barry, which automatically meant that Parker would be dragged along too.

In his lovely morning voice, Barry whispered, "Baby," to wake her.

"Don't do that," Parker warned, "You'll make my knees go weak."

"Good thing you're already in bed, then," Barry said with a laugh.

Parker flipped from her stomach to her back. Barry, fully dressed already, collapsed on the bed once more, his head on her stomach.

"Last night was nice," Barry said quietly.

Parker smiled lightly, content with the refreshing feeling of cuddling from the previous night.

And then, Barry's itching question had to be asked. "So, are we back together?"

Parker patted his cheek, causing him to sit up. He stayed on her bed while she went into the bathroom to get ready, her voice raised slightly for his ears to hear.

"To be honest, Barry, I'm relying on you to tell me that," Parker said, "I know what I want, I know who I want. I'm just trying to figure out who it is, between Iris and I, for you."

That was the only concern she could tell him about. She didn't need him panicking about her theory on dying early, and find out that it was a reason she was resisting.

"I can tell you that it's you," Barry assured instantly.

"Not the point. You can tell me all you want that it's me. It's the way you act that's going to tell me."

Her words stunned Barry into a silence. Taking her chance, Parker shut the bathroom door, ending the conversation.

Gathered in the Cortex, Barry, Parker, Caitlin and Joe waited for Cisco to finish his awfully long slurp from the straw of his soda.

"Cisco, come on," Parker said, "It's too early for me to be impatient."

"It's eleven in the morning," Caitlin said, confused.

"Did I stutter?" Parker asked, brow raised.

Cisco handed his drink off to Parker, moving the wheelchair to the center of the circle.

"I kept asking myself, why Wells would need a wheelchair," Cisco said. He paused, aiming for a response from the group.

"Sympathy," Caitlin answered.

"That's what I thought at first, but he's the Man in Yellow, he's the Reverse-Flash-- he's smarter than that," Cisco said, "Sympathy can't be the only reason."

"It's an act, just like everything else Wells has done. The last person we'd expect the Reverse-Flash to be is someone who can't use their legs," Joe tried.

"That's exactly right, Joe," Cisco praised, "Which is why I started messing around with the wheelchair."

Cisco flipped the wheelchair onto its side. He wiggled the center of the bottom, popping off a square.

"And that's when I found this," He said, stepping away to reveal his findings.

Inside the hidden spot, a golden glowing contraption was built in. It was a tiny little thing, formed into a 'x' brought together by green and blue surging wires.

Barry stepped closer, bent over to examine it. "It looks like the tech inside Gideon.."

"I measured the energy output, and this thing is kicking off serious juice. I mean, we're talking enough to power all of Central City," Cisco explained.

At their surprised looks, he nodded, "Oh, yeah."

"So why was Wells using it?" Joe asked.

"I think is some type of battery," Cisco started, his face scrunched in an unsure way.

Parker caught on first, finishing his thought, "Like he was charging himself?"

"For what?" Caitlin wondered.

"To get faster, and that's why he's so much faster than you," Cisco said, finger pointed at Barry.

"Have you tried figuring out what it's made from?" Parker tried, "Future tech, I'd guess, but do you think Barry could use it to get fast--"

A beeping stopped her.

Judging from the way Cisco's head snapped to the computer, how his eyes were frozen in the state of panic, whatever beeping occurred on that computer wasn't expected.

"Cisco?" Parker asked.

Cisco sprinted to the computer, his jaw dropping when he saw the screen. "The Accelerator.. It's been reactivated."

Suddenly, the panic Cisco had spread throughout the other members of the team.

Parker limped behind the computer, checking to ensure he was correct.

"How?" Barry asked.

"That's not possible," Caitlin muttered.

"It would have had to be rebuilt--" Parker started, thinking of the hole that caved in part of the ring.

"Wells," Barry guessed, his eyes hardened.

Parker tilted her head back and forth, agreeing and disagreeing with his thought.

"Even if he did, how did he turn the Accelerator on?" Parker asked.

"He's here," Barry discovered, a hunch, but a good one. "That's why we couldn't find him-- he's been inside the whole time."

Barry nudged Joe's arm and the two jogged out the door, presumably down to the Accelerator ring. Cisco followed.

Parker decided she was going to go, in case there was meta-human troubles. With the drink still in her hand to soothe her growling stomach, she limped fast behind the boys.

No comments were made about her presence, instead, Joe inquired about why she brought the drink.

"No, you're a genius, Parker!" Cisco said, patting her head, "Whenever something happens with the Reverse-Flash, liquid floats as a warning."

Parker didn't have the heart to tell him she was just thirsty.

Cisco and Parker stayed back, on either side of the door into the ring. Joe and Barry carefully stepped into the Accelerator.

Obviously, it happened very quickly. The orange soda floated past Parker's face, Cisco shouted a warning, and everyone wobbled on their feet as Wells shot through the building. Barry took off after him without a single hesitation.

"Prisoner release protocol initiated," An automated voice warned, adding to their unwanted problems of the day.

"Excuse me?" Parker snapped.

The closest cell was Shawna Baez. As soon as the door opened, she teleported.

Shawn popped up behind Joe and grabbed his gun, pushing him off the bridge. Cisco was smacked with the gun and kicked off.

Parker splashed the orange soda straight into her face, a great move, except Parker couldn't run away. She limped one step back to the door and was Sparta-kicked off the bridge.

"Pathetic," Shawna commented.

A gunshot went off, causing the door to the Accelerator to drop. Thankfully, it also stopped the release of the prisoners, though their muffled screaming continued.

"Parker?" Cisco groaned.

Parker patted her hand along the floor until she felt his arm. "Hey, man."

"You kids okay?" Joe asked.

"Well, we're not dead, so yes!" Parker called back.

"Does anyone have a phone on them? Maybe we can call Caitlin to get us," Joe suggested.

While Joe and Cisco talked about escape plans, Parker was glancing around the Accelerator ring in suspicion.

"But if Shawna was let out, she probably attacked Caitlin first--"

"If Wells was down here the entire time," Parker said loudly, interrupting, "and if we checked everywhere except here, don't you think that Eddie would --by default-- be here?"

Joe looked at Cisco to back her theory up. Parker tried not to be offended. Cisco enforced her hunch, and Joe was sold.

"We'd better check before Iris gets down here," Joe said, "I don't want to raise her hopes."

By then, the Accelerator door had opened. Iris and Caitlin shuffled in, dragging a knocked out Shawna Baez between them.

After they shoved her into her cell again, Joe explained there was a chance Eddie might be down there.

Not wanting to be wrapped in another bitch fit of leaving Iris out, Parker invited her along.

Together, Team Flash searched the ring, yelling Eddie's name.

"Help! Help! Down here!"

Their paces quickened upon hearing his voice.

Joe stopped after about ten minutes of walking, insisting Eddie's voice was coming from a point halfway through the ring.

"Down here!" Eddie called again.

Parker dropped to her knees and started patting on the tiles, trying to find the single one that wasn't secured, or that made a hollow noise.

A few feet from where she originally started, Parker slammed her hand down on a tile that fell straight through.

"Hallelujah," she breathed, "Eddie? Having fun down there?"

Cisco helped Parker to her feet and made her take a few steps back. Joe and Iris climbed down the hatch.

Briefly, quietly, Eddie responded, "Absolutely, Park."

Back into the Cortex, Parker sat at the computer desk, on the outside of the circle around Eddie as he was examined by Caitlin.

"Your vitals are normal, but you're a little dehydrated. The IV should help with that, but drink water. And stay off your feet," Caitlin warned.

Parker didn't hear Eddie's next words, drowned by the harsh gush of wind that came as Barry skidded to a stop beside her.

Bent over on his knees, Barry wheezed, "Wells got away. Oh, he was too fast. Too fast.."

"Barry," Parker said, "A certain Thawne was discovered."

Barry's head snapped from her to the crowd. At full height, he found Eddie sitting on the medical bed.

"We found him under a hatch in the pipeline," Parker said.

"Eddie, I'm so sorry, I looked everywhere--"

"Not your fault," Eddie interrupted Barry's apology, "Sometimes you just can't see the clues..Even if they're right in front of you."

Eddie's eyes moved between Barry and Iris, almost in defeat.

If anyone else noticed, they hadn't touched on it. Parker made a mental note to ask Eddie about it when he wasn't the center of attention.

"Well, uh, all that's important is that we're safe and back together," Iris said, a relieved smile on her lips.

"Yeah, last week Joe and I got kidnapped by a gorilla!" Parker called to Eddie.

Eddie looked concerned, "What--"

"Don't freak him out, Parker," Joe said, shaking his head, "Eddie, why did he take you?"

"He said that we were related. His name was Eobard Thawne," Eddie said, revealing information that was already known, thanks to Cisco's dream.

"Did he say anything else? That could help us?" Barry pressed.

"I-- he didn't say much. He just worked on some tube," Eddie said.

"What did it look like?" Cisco asked.

"Metallic. Futuristic. He said it was the key to getting back everything that was taken from him."

"The key?" Barry repeated, "I don't get it."

"Yeah, I don't know, I just want to go home. Is that okay?" Eddie breathed, shoulders hunched.

Caitlin reminded him to be careful and drink water, then gave the official okay for him to leave her care.

Iris wrapped an arm around Eddie's waist. Together, the two made their way out of the building.

And once more, for the final time, an unknown beeping originating from the computer filled Parker's ears.

The ringtone was known to Cisco, who sprinted to the computer, ensuring his ears were hearing the sound correctly.

"Oh, no, no, no," Cisco mumbled, turning on his heel and running out of the Cortex. Faintly from the hallway, he called Parker's name.

"My ankle is sprained, idiot!" Parker yelled back.

"Come on!" he insisted.

Parker saluted to the team and limped after Cisco. She walked through the opened doors of the Accelerator, trudging back to the spot they found Eddie.

Cisco wasn't there, leaving Parker to keep limping around the Accelerator ring. She found him exactly at the halfway mark from the entrance.

"Do you have your phone on you?" Cisco blurted.

Parker unlocked her phone and handed it off to him. She would have asked what he needed it for, but the thought slipped her mind. Something else held her attention; a glowing blue tube stuck in the wall of the Accelerator.

"Cisco, hey," Caitlin said, from Parker's phone.

On a Skype call, Cisco flipped to the front camera and bent his knees, capturing his face and the tube in the frame.

"Are y'all seeing this?" Cisco asked.

"This is the tube that Eddie was talking about," Parker explained.

Having come to the realization, Cisco said, "It's charging up the Accelerator."

"Can you shut it down?" Barry asked.

"Do you see an off button?" Cisco retorted, squinting his eyes at the camera, "Dude, this thing is from the future! It's beyond me. If I touch, or cut it wrong, in any way, I could bring the entire building down."

Parker hovered her hand near the source, feeling an excessive amount of heat.

"How long until it powers the entire Accelerator?" Parker asked.

"Best I can tell.. Thirty six hours," Cisco said, biting his bottom lip, "And that's a maybe."

"Well, that's all we've got," Parker muttered, "Caitlin, start a timer."

"That's when Wells will be back," Barry predicted.

"Why does he want it to work again?"
Cisco asked.

"Good question," Parker praised.

"It's not like it worked the first time," Caitlin said.

"Because it wasn't supposed to," Barry countered.

Parker raised her eyebrows in thought, his words igniting a spark in her mind.

The Accelerator purposely didn't work, because Wells programmed it to malfunction. Parker was clueless to its original purpose, but she knew it had done something remarkable.

"All it did was give people their powers," Parker said. With a second thought, she added, "Specifically, Barry."

Caitlin sighed, "Well, it did a lot more than that."
