62; Coked Up Tracks Understand / 'Don't Inject Me In Your Veins'

3-26-16
the tired buzz of a coked up track
Watches me with intellectual eyes,
Paints images in my head,
And knows what it's supposed to say.
I can feel the emotions through the screen,
and I know the only thing these kinds of songs advocate are sleep deprivation, drugs, and sex,
But doesn't that tell you a bit about its listeners?
Or maybe it speaks more on influence than anything.

But on the other side, it tells a story,
It expresses the struggle, the ups and downs,
The demons of addiction,
The truth that couldn't be told in a casual conversation over coffee.

Sadistic emotions and thoughts that know they'll win.
But these coked up tracks, these medicated tracks
Turn the tables,
And give me a bit of light.

I'll get in the fucking shower,
Wash me of these sins
Get the marks of addiction off of my fucking skin.

You'll taste me like blood in your mouth,
and every time the sun goes down,
I'll be the relapse you think you need,
I'll be the reason you bleed,
I'm so fucking destructive
This can't be who I'm supposed to be.

Faded, I'll keep my night's hazy.
The rain that used to saturate me heavy
Has left, and ever since then, I'm a void.
Don't get caught up in my world,
Don't get caught up in my head.
Your parents told you to stay away from drugs,
Baby, don't inject me in your veins.
Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it,
I'll burn you down.
Cross these lines at your own risk.
