part 3~

Ha-rin's POV:

The next day, I decided to get out of the house and clear my mind. I found myself at a cozy little cafe near campus, a place I often visited to enjoy a quiet moment and a good cup of coffee. The morning sun streamed through the large windows, casting a warm glow over the wooden tables and potted plants that decorated the space.

I ordered my favorite caramel latte and settled into a corner booth with a book, trying to immerse myself in its pages. As I sipped my drink, I couldn't help but glance around, hoping to catch a glimpse of the boy who had occupied my thoughts for the past week.

Halfway through my latte, I heard a familiar voice. "Ha-rin? Is that you?"

I looked up to see Ji-hoon, a classmate from one of my elective courses. We weren't particularly close, but we often exchanged friendly greetings in class. He was carrying a tray with two drinks and a slice of cake.

"Hey, Ji-hoon," I greeted him with a smile. "Fancy seeing you here."

He laughed and gestured to the seat across from me. "Mind if I join you? I'm meeting a friend here."

"Of course, have a seat," I replied, closing my book and setting it aside.

We chatted about classes and mutual acquaintances, the conversation light and easy. After a few minutes, Ji-hoon glanced towards the entrance and waved. "There he is."

I followed his gaze, and my heart skipped a beat. Walking towards us was the boy from the concert. He looked just as I remembered: tall, with dark hair and those piercing eyes. He wore a simple white shirt and jeans, effortlessly stylish. My mind raced. Was he the same boy from the hospital, or was my imagination playing tricks on me?and he is the same boy from the concert!

"Ha-rin, this is Jungkook," Ji-hoon introduced him as he approached. "We're in the same music theory class."

Jungkook gave a small nod and a polite smile. "Nice to meet you," he said, his voice calm and smooth.

"You too," I managed to reply, my heart pounding in my chest.

Ji-hoon motioned for him to sit next to him, and he did, setting his coffee on the table. As they started talking about their class project, I found myself stealing glances at Jungkook, trying to piece together the mystery. He was so familiar, yet I couldn't be certain if he was the same person from the hospital.

At one point, Ji-hoon turned to me and asked, "Ha-rin, have you ever seen Jungkook around campus? We all go to the same university."

I blinked, slightly taken aback. "Really? I guess I don't go to class regularly enough to notice," I admitted with a sheepish smile.

Ji-hoon chuckled. "Yeah, that's probably why. Jungkook's pretty well-known, though. It's weird you haven't seen him before."

I glanced at Jungkook, who was quietly sipping his coffee, a hint of a smile on his lips. The pieces of the puzzle seemed to be coming together, but there were still gaps that needed to be filled.

Ji-hoon excused himself to take a call, leaving Jungkook and me alone at the table. An awkward silence hung in the air, but I couldn't let the opportunity slip by.

"I think I've seen you before," I said, trying to sound casual.

Jungkook looked at me, his eyes unreadable. "Maybe. I go to a lot of concerts and places around campus."

I nodded, unsure how to proceed. "Have you visited any hospital recently?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.

A flicker of recognition crossed his face, but he quickly masked it. "Why do you ask?" he responded, his tone guarded.

Before I could respond, Ji-hoon returned, breaking the moment. Jungkook quickly stood up. "I should get going," he said, his voice back to its calm demeanor. "Nice meeting you, Ha-rin."

As he walked away, I felt a mix of emotions-curiosity, gratitude, and something else I couldn't quite identify. I watched him leave, his figure disappearing into the crowd, leaving me with more questions than answers.

Ji-hoon sat back down and raised an eyebrow. "You okay? You look like you've seen a ghost."

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. "No, it's nothing. Just... thinking."

But even as we continued our conversation, my mind kept drifting back to Jungkook. Who was he really, and why did he keep appearing in my life? I knew one thing for certain-I needed to find out.

Ha-rin's POV:

The next morning, I woke up with an unusual sense of purpose. As sunlight streamed through my window, I lay in bed, pondering the events of the past few days. I couldn't shake the image of Jungkook from my mind. His calm demeanor, those piercing eyes, and the mysterious air about him left me curious and intrigued.

Despite my usual habit of skipping classes, today felt different. I wanted to see him again, to figure out the connection that seemed to keep bringing us together. Maybe it was fate, or perhaps just a series of coincidences, but I couldn't ignore the pull I felt.

I got out of bed, determined to go to college. After a quick shower, I chose an outfit that made me feel confident-a simple yet elegant blouse paired with my favorite jeans. As I tied my hair into a neat ponytail, I couldn't help but smile at my reflection, feeling a sense of excitement bubbling within me.

"Ha-rin, are you going to college today?" my mother asked, peeking into my room.

"Yeah, Mom. I think it's about time I start attending regularly," I replied with a grin.

She looked surprised but pleased. "That's wonderful, dear. Have a great day."

I grabbed my backpack and headed out, my heart pounding with anticipation. The journey to campus felt different today, filled with a newfound eagerness. As I walked through the bustling corridors, I kept an eye out for any sign of Jungkook.

When I entered my first class, I scanned the room, but he wasn't there. Disappointed but not discouraged, I took a seat near the back and tried to focus on the lecture. The minutes ticked by slowly, each one feeling like an eternity.

By the time my second class rolled around, I was practically on edge. As I entered the lecture hall, my eyes immediately found him. Jungkook was sitting near the window, his attention focused on his notebook. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a rush of nervous energy.

I hesitated for a moment before walking over and sitting a few rows behind him. I watched him discreetly, noticing the way his hair fell softly over his forehead, the way he occasionally tapped his pen against the desk in thought. There was something about him that drew me in, a magnetism I couldn't explain.

When the lecture ended, I gathered my things slowly, hoping for an opportunity to talk to him. Just as he was about to leave, our eyes met. He seemed slightly surprised but offered a small, polite nod. Taking a deep breath, I decided to go for it.

"Hey, Jungkook," I called out as I approached him. "Do you have a minute?"

He turned to face me, his expression calm and unreadable. "Sure, what's up?"

I hesitated, trying to find the right words. "I don't usually come to college regularly," I admitted, feeling a bit self-conscious. "But I decided to change that."

Jungkook's expression softened slightly, and he gave a small nod. "That's good to hear."

Before I could say anything else, Ji-hoon appeared beside us, a broad smile on his face. "Hey, you two! Fancy meeting you here."

Jungkook gave Ji-hoon a nod. "I was just about to head to my next class. I'll see you around, Ha-rin."

With that, he walked away, leaving me standing with Ji-hoon. I watched him go, a mix of emotions swirling inside me-curiosity, and something else I couldn't quite place.

Ji-hoon raised an eyebrow. "You okay? You seem different today."

I smiled, trying to shake off the lingering thoughts. "Yeah, I'm good. Just... trying to get back into the rhythm of things."

He gave me a knowing look but didn't press further. As we walked to our next class together, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. There was something about Jungkook that I needed to understand, and I was determined to find out what it was.

Ha-rin's POV:

After classes ended, I found myself at the cafeteria, sitting alone with my thoughts. The buzz of conversations and the clinking of cutlery around me faded into the background as I replayed the brief exchange with Jungkook in my mind. Who was he really? Why did he seem so familiar, yet so distant?

Lost in my reverie, I absentmindedly stirred my coffee, staring out of the window. The next thing I knew, Jungkook appeared out of nowhere, standing right in front of me.

"Hey, can I sit here?" he asked, a hint of urgency in his voice.

Startled, I looked up and managed a nod. "Yes, why not?"

He slid into the seat across from me,jungkook sat across from me, his hand subtly shielding his face as if to avoid being recognized. The bustling café around us suddenly seemed quieter, almost as if the energy had shifted with his arrival. Concerned by his sudden change in demeanor, I leaned forward slightly.

"Is everything alright?" I asked softly, trying to catch his eye.

Jungkook looked up, his expression a mix of relief and apprehension. "Yeah, just... tons of girls are looking for me."

I nodded in understanding, but inside, a pang of disappointment flickered. The reality of his fame sank in deeper than ever before. It wasn't just the attention from fans; it was the realization that someone like him, with so many admirers, would be beyond the reach of someone like me. I tried to hide my feelings, forcing a small smile.

As if on cue, a group of girls entered the café, their eyes scanning the room eagerly. They moved purposefully, whispering to each other as they searched for someone. Within moments, their gaze landed on Jungkook, and they hurried over to our table.

"Oh my gosh, it's Jungkook!" one of the girls exclaimed excitedly, causing a ripple of excitement among her friends.

Jungkook visibly tensed, his shoulders tightening as he tried to shrink into his seat. The girls surrounded us, their voices rising in excitement as they clamored for his attention.

"Jungkook, can we take a selfie with you?"

"What are you doing here? Are you meeting someone?"

The questions came rapid-fire, and Jungkook responded politely but kept his answers brief, clearly uncomfortable with the sudden attention. The girls noticed my presence and eyed me curiously, their curiosity palpable.

"Who's this?" one of them asked, pointing directly at me.

Jungkook glanced at me briefly, then back at the girl. "She's a friend."

I smiled awkwardly, feeling out of place amidst the frenzy of fans. The girls continued to bombard Jungkook with questions, snapping selfies and exchanging excited whispers.

After what felt like an eternity, the group finally began to disperse, their curiosity seemingly satisfied for the moment. Jungkook let out a relieved sigh as the last of them walked away.

"Sorry about that," he said, looking genuinely apologetic. "It happens a lot."

"It's okay," I replied softly, trying to mask the hurt in my voice. "Must be overwhelming."

He nodded, his expression softening. "Yeah, it can be."

We sat in silence for a moment, the initial awkwardness lingering between us. I struggled to push away the feelings of disappointment, the realization that I was just another face in the crowd to him. Despite everything, there was still a part of me that wanted to understand him, to see beyond the fame.

But underneath it all, I felt something more fragile than before. It was as if a delicate barrier had cracked, revealing emotions I hadn't expected. I couldn't quite pinpoint it, but something inside me had shifted, leaving me unsettled yet strangely intrigued.

"So, do you come here often?" I asked, trying to shift the focus away from the overwhelming encounter.

"Not really," Jungkook replied with a faint smile. "But I guess I might start, now that I know you hang out here."

I felt a small flicker of hope at his words, though I tried not to read too much into it. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for us to connect beyond the chaos of his celebrity status.

Ha rin pov:

I was lying on my bed, talking to my friend on the phone. We chatted about the usual stuff—college gossip, plans for the weekend, and everything in between.

"I swear, Ha-rin, you should really come to class more often. You miss out on so much!" my friend teased, her voice light and playful.

"I know, I know. I'll try," I laughed, rolling my eyes even though she couldn't see me.

Just then, my mom's voice called from downstairs. "Ha-rin, can you come here for a moment?"

"Hey, I have to go. Talk to you later?" I said quickly into the phone.

"Sure, catch you later!"

I hung up and got up from my bed, not bothering to change out of my embarrassing outfit—a mismatched pair of pajamas and an old, oversized T-shirt. I walked downstairs, expecting some mundane household task. Instead, I was greeted with an unexpected sight.

Standing in the entryway were Ji-hoon and Jungkook, both soaked from head to toe. It was raining heavily outside, the kind of rain that drenches you within seconds. Jungkook's hair was plastered to his forehead, and water dripped from their clothes onto the floor.

I froze in place, my eyes widening in surprise and embarrassment. They both looked at me, and I could feel my cheeks flush with shame. I was dressed in a mismatched, shabby outfit—a pair of old pajamas and an oversized T-shirt that I wouldn't wear in front of anyone, let alone unexpected guests.

Without thinking, I turned and bolted back up the stairs, my heart pounding with humiliation. I closed the door behind me and leaned against it, trying to calm my racing thoughts. Why did they have to see me like this, at my worst? I glanced at my reflection in the mirror, grimacing at my appearance.

After a moment of hesitation, I decided to change into something more comfortable yet presentable. I quickly rummaged through my wardrobe and found a cozy sweater and leggings that I hoped would make me feel less exposed.

Taking a deep breath, I squared my shoulders and made my way back downstairs. As I approached the living room, I could hear my mom talking to Ji-hoon and Jungkook, fussing over them with towels and hot tea.

"I'm so sorry for running off like that," I said sheepishly, entering the room.

Jungkook looked up from his cup of tea, a small, amused smile playing on his lips. "No problem."

Ji-hoon grinned at me. "We didn't mean to scare you."

I laughed nervously, feeling a bit more at ease now that I was properly dressed. "I just wasn't expecting visitors."

My mom handed me a towel. "Here, help them dry off. I'll go make some more tea."

I took the towel and walked over to Jungkook, trying to ignore the lingering embarrassment. Our eyes met briefly, and I felt a strange mix of nerves and curiosity. He murmured a thank you and started drying his hair, his gaze focused intently on the task.

Ji-hoon watched the exchange with a knowing smile, but didn't say anything. Instead, he started talking about how they got caught in the rain while walking back from the library.

"It just came out of nowhere," Ji-hoon explained with a chuckle. "One minute, it was clear, and the next, we were drenched."

"Yeah, the weather's been unpredictable lately," I agreed, grateful for the small talk that eased some of the tension in the room.

Jungkook nodded in agreement, his expression relaxed as he continued drying off. The initial awkwardness slowly faded as we chatted lightly, my earlier embarrassment now just a fleeting memory in the warmth of our unexpected encounter.

As we sat together in the living room, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Ji-hoon and Jungkook shared stories about their classes and joked about their misadventure in the rain. My mom occasionally joined in, adding her own anecdotes and making sure everyone felt welcomed.

I found myself enjoying Jungkook's company more than I had expected. Despite his initial aloofness and the swarm of admirers that followed him everywhere, he seemed genuinely interested in our conversation. He asked about my interests, my studies, and even shared a few insights into his passion for music, which intrigued me.

At one point, Ji-hoon excused himself to take a phone call, leaving me alone with Jungkook and my mom. There was a brief lull in the conversation, and I glanced at Jungkook, suddenly aware of how comfortable I felt in his presence.

"So, Jungkook," my mom began, breaking the silence. "How did you and Ji-hoon become friends?"

Jungkook smiled warmly. "We have a few classes together, and we both share a love for music."

"He's always been passionate about it," I added, feeling a small sense of pride for my friend.

Jungkook nodded, his gaze shifting to me. "Ha-rin, Ji-hoon mentioned you're interested in writing?"

Surprised by his interest, I nodded. "Yes, I enjoy writing. I've been working on a few short stories and poems."

"That's impressive," he replied sincerely. "I've always admired people who can create something out of nothing."

I blushed at the compliment, feeling a flutter of excitement. Despite the initial awkwardness and my earlier insecurities, being around Jungkook felt surprisingly easy. His genuine curiosity and easy smile put me at ease in a way I hadn't expected.

Before long, Ji-hoon returned, apologizing for the interruption.

"Sorry about that, guys," Ji-hoon said, sinking back into his seat. "Work stuff. You know how it is."

"No worries," Jungkook replied, flashing a grin. "We were just getting to know each other better."

My mom chuckled, pouring more tea for everyone. "It's nice to see you young folks bonding over something other than your phones."

Ji-hoon laughed. "Yeah, it's a rare sight these days."

As the evening wore on, we talked about everything from favorite books to future career plans. Jungkook shared stories from his travels, and I found myself hanging onto every word. There was a depth to him that I hadn't seen before, beyond the charming facade that the world saw.

Eventually, though, the time came for them to leave. My mom insisted on packing them some snacks for the road, which they graciously accepted. Standing in the doorway, I watched as Ji-hoon and Jungkook waved goodbye, their figures disappearing into the night.

As I closed the door behind Ji-hoon and Jungkook, I leaned against it, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me. The unexpected evening had left me with a sense of warmth and curiosity.

Jungkook, with his mysterious aura and genuine interest, had sparked something within me that I couldn't quite define.Later that night, I sat down at my desk, pen in hand, and began to write. The words flowed easily, capturing the essence of the evening and the feelings it had stirred
