Yes, It Can Talk. No, It's Not a Paladin

At this point, almost everyone in Beacon had their mouths agape. This was because almost everyone was watching the initiation of the crazy ass future soldier. The result was unexpected to say the least, mainly due to the fact that no one at Beacon had ever seen a giant robot fall out of the sky. No one had even seen a robot of that size or advancement before, and the paladin had yet to be publicly announced. Of course Weiss knew, but only because of her family's involvement in the project.

The fact that you had taken three deathstalkers on your own was more than enough to convince most of the students that you were not a danger. One of the bigger questions was what the voice in your helmet was. Some agreed to the obvious and thought the robot was talking, while others were skeptical of the technology.

Despite all that, the students that weren't pondering your's or the robot's identity were sitting in amazement of the weaponry the titan possessed. Most had never seen a rifle of that size before. There was one such weapon fanatic currently in the mess hall with her team who was absolutely fawning over the size and power of said rifle. "OH MY OUM! That was so cool!" Ruby was practically jumping up and down. "He was like 'pew' 'pew' 'pew.' And they were like 'arghhh!" The young huntress in training was possibly more exited about the machine than she had been the night she was accepted into Beacon. Possibly.

"Yeah, I guess it was alright." Yang looked away from the screen, reluctant to admit she thought it was cool too.

"If you ask me, he was way too brutal. I mean, look at what he did to that deathstalker." Weiss gestured to the slowly wilting corps of the giant scorpion.

"Are you sympathizing for a Grimm?" Blake raised a brow, wondering why her teammate seemed to have a problem with brutality when you were killing giant monsters.

"I'm just saying that maybe he's got a screw loose. He did almost kill us already, how do we know he won't try again?" Weiss started to adapt the same suspicious tone Yang had, not promising a good future relationship with the pilot.

"I have to agree with Weiss on this one. He's too dangerous to be around. We should stay away from him." Yang glared at the screen, watching the large machine trudge back to the cliff.

"One thing for certain is that his skill, both in and outside that robot, is quite remarkable. I'm not sure even I could take on a pack of beowolves on my own. I think I would enjoy fighting him." Pyrrha said this with a hint of intrigue in her voice.

"I believe it would be most interesting to learn about him. He's clearly not from here. Perhaps learning of his origin would allow us to find out why he acts the way he does." Ren looked at Pyrrha before glancing at Yang,

"I wonder if he likes pancakes?!" Nora seemed to teleport to them all, popping up between them.

"I don't know sis, maybe he's just harsh on the outside. Maybe if we get to know him then he'll be different." Ruby tried to convince them.

She gasped suddenly before realizing something. "His initiation is almost over! I wanna see his weapons- I mean him when he gets back!" She then used her semblance, bolting out of the room before anyone else had the chance to protest.

Ozpin and Glynda still stood atop Beacon Cliff, waiting for the pilot to return. The screen in front of them displayed a first person view of the titan walking through the forest. What caught his attention was that, upon embarking, everything previously seen on the pilot's HUD was replaced only by what Ozpin could assume was the titan's HUD. He found it interesting that it appeared as if the pilot wasn't there at all. As if the two were neurally connected. He made a mental note to ask the pilot about it later. There were several things that Ozpin wanted to ask the pilot about. One of the questions he wanted to ask was why he was so war oriented. The boy looked as if he had come straight out of a battle. When he had been captured, they had removed his helmet to see his grimy and unclean face. Of course Ozpin knew this could have simply been from the encounter in Vale, but after what he had done to the tens of Atlas soldiers making an attempt to capture him, Ozpin saw the look in his eyes, as well as his composure, as that of someone who had seen much in his line of work. The titan was also a curiosity of his, figuring that no one would build a machine that well equipped for nothing.

Despite the skepticism, Glynda acknowledged the skill she had seen, even if he was inside a robot. If he truly had been controlling it, then it was his skill and abilities that allowed him to kill the Grimm. These were her thoughts, as well as Ozpin's. Ironwood also happened to share the opinion, but the skill the pilot possessed were what scared the general. The two professors snapped back to reality when they heard something happening on the monitor.

You had been walking back to the cliff from within your titan, hoping to get back soon, as you wanted to get to work on other pressing matters. Sleep wasn't a necessity, considering the amount of all night operations you had been on in the Militia, but knowing you would have to get up early to attend whatever classes Beacon had, you figured that getting a little more was not a bad idea. School had been hard enough in the state you were in back on Typhon, you hoped history would not repeat itself.

Interrupting your thoughts, you heard a loud screech above you. When you looked up, you saw several plane sized birds that were circling you. Their unfriendly intentions were quickly confirmed when they began to shoot arrow-like feathers down on you. Making a quick decision, you activated your vortex shield and absorbed the projectiles. You watched as one of the large avian creatures turned into a red mist as you discharged the buildup of razor feathers. Upon activating your rocket pods, your titan spoke to you. "Pilot, we are out of missile range. Recommend the chain gun. Thinking for a second, and idea formulated,

"Osiris, get me in range." You checked your rifle to make sure it was fully loaded.

"Pilot, we cannot fly that high. There is nothing we can do to close the distance until they come to us."

"I said get me in range, Osiris." Looking around, you gathered your ordinance. One more e-smoke, two more gravity starts, and two fragmentation grenades.

"Understood, pilot." The hatch opened and your titan's metal hand grabbed you out of the cockpit. Cocking his arm back, he brought his other forward, aiming at the birds. "Impress me, pilot." When he said that, he threw you as hard as he could.

Shooting through the air, you felt the wind resistance through your suit, causing you to smirk. When you reached the group of birds, you saw there were four, flying in a circle. As the first one came into range, you brought your fist back and slammed it into the bird's face. The speed of the throw, combined with the strength of your punch caused the bird's head to shoot to the right. Still moving, you spun in the air and fired your grappling hook at the body of the nearest of them, and went shooting towards it. Altering your path slightly, you flew under the bird's neck, firing your flatline at it as you did so. With the speed gained from going under the intended target, you detached your hook and shot forward, landing a high speed dropkick into the face of another Grimm. The creature was large enough that the kick didn't send it too far. It also slowed down your speed considerably, allowing to land on its neck.

Holding on to your new mount, you started firing your rifle into its left side, causing it to fly right, right into the other three. The once semi-organized circle turned into a mess of birds flying around each other in one huge feathery swarm. Using this to your advantage, you started jumping around on them. The first bird was flying from your left to right. You jumped onto its back as it did this. From there, you started emptying the current magazine from your flatline into the back of its head, eventually causing the bird to die, a large bullet filled whole in its head. Before the body fell to far, you grappled to the head of another bird and slung yourself toward it. The Grimm screeched for help, alerting one of the others to its situation. As you shot to the next bird, one came out from your right in an attempt to grab you. In a fit of panic, you reached for the most available grenade, which just so happened to be an e-smoke. Doing the only logical thing that came to mind, you brought your legs in and reeled your arm back. When the large avian Grimm was close enough, you shoved the grenade into its mouth and pulled the pin. Having a fist sized metal cylinder forced into its mouth, the bird started to choke and panic, causing it to fly past you. This didn't work in its favor, as the smoke screen deployed, frying the bird's head and most likely brain.

With the third of the group out, the last two gained some sense of urgency and attacked together, though one wasn't very effective, considering you were now riding it. The one you weren't on top of was trying to snag you off the top with its beak. It was hard enough to dodge when all you could do was lean, but they made it worse when the two started coordinating together, trying to line you up.

Struggling to hold on, you jerked around trying to dodge the next flyby. When it came, you jerked to the left, the head doing the same. Turning your head, it came again, this time from straight ahead. You ducked as hard as you could, narrowly avoiding it. Then an idea popped into your head. After seeing how easy you could control the direction the Grimm's head turned, you thought you might just give them the line up they wanted. Watching as the attacking bird circled back around, you drew a gravity star and readied yourself. "3" It began its approach. "2" The bird increased its speed, nearing you. "1" Right before it ran you through, you threw the gravity star and yanked up on the Grimm's head as hard as you could, causing the two to slam into each other with open mouths, basically at the back of each other's beaks.

Now with the two unfortunate Grimm stuck together in the worlds most forced kiss, you stood on top of them, a foot on either beak. Knowing you couldn't admire your relationship counseling long, you drew a smart pistol in one hand, and the wingman in the other, before draining the magazines into either Grimm's face. With their faces a black, gooey pit, their bodies both started falling, letting you fall with them.

You kept yourself straight and upright as you flew through the air, waiting to be caught. A few seconds before hitting the ground, the large metal hand of your titan extended outward, allowing you to land in his palm before he brought you up to his cockpit and you climbed inside. You ran the remaining distance, not wanting to have to fight anything else.

Ozpin looked at Glynda with an amused expression, watching her gaping mouth and wide eyes. "Beginning to see why I let him stay?" he asked with a smug tone.

"Y-Yeah, sure."

"This will definitely be an interesting year." Ozpin looked off into the distance, thinking.

"Its just- I haven't seen that level of skill in a long time. Maybe never." She too begins to think of past huntsmen and huntresses similar to the pilot.

"I'm not sure its the amount of skill he has, I think its how he uses it. I would have never expected him to have his robot throw him at the enemy. Nor would I have expected him to use a nevermore as a trampoline. I think he will prove useful in time. Assuming he doesn't return to where ever it is he came from."

"You don't really believe he's from another planet do you?" She asked him.

"I don't know. It sounded genuine when he said he didn't know what remnant was, add that with the fact he looks and acts like he came from a war, possess technology that no one on remnant has ever seen, and knows nothing of this planet, I'd say he was telling the truth." Glynda only sighed and looked back at the screen, only to see that the titan was standing below them at the cliff. She then saw the pilot disembark and climb into the titan's hand again. It then brought its arm back and lobbed the pilot at the cliff. Glynda had started to panic as the super soldier came flying at her from below.

He shot past her and went flying into the air a good fifty feet. She thought the titan miscalculated something. When he started to fall, she drew her riding crop in an effort to save him, only to find he didn't need it. Upon landing, a thud could be heard, and he slightly bent his knees, but other than that, he was unscathed. Calmly, he walked up to Ozpin and handed him the small toy before turning and calling out for his titan. Neither of the instructors thought the titan would be able to climb the cliff, but were both proven wrong when a large hand grabbed the ledge, revealed the titan, climbing up onto it.

Walking away from Ozpin and Glynda, you cut the live helmet feed, allowing you privacy. The warehouse was a little ways away, so you planned on getting to it quickly. Not wanting to waist any more time, you began to jog lightly towards your objective.

That break didn't last long either. A theme that seemed to be repeating itself today. Your 'relaxing' jog came to a stop as a red blur shot in front of you. It was revealed to be the girl with the red cloak that had disturbed your breath this morning. Before you even had the time to react, the bombardment began. "Oh my Oum! I saw your initiation! You were so cool!" She then began to poorly imitate gun noises. 'And then you called that giant robot and it FELL FROM THE SKY! Can I see it? Can I see it please?!" She clasped her hands together as if to beg.

You were going to answer but were then interrupted again, this time by the other seven members of the super eight. "Ruby! Get away from him!" Blondie comes out and drags 'Ruby' away.

"Awww, but Yang, I wanted to see his giant robot." Ruby complained, half hanging by collar, which was currently being held up by Yang.

"Why would want to see it? It tried to kill you. Besides, you don't need to see him anyway." Yang glared at you until someone broke the silence.

"Where is your paladin, anyway?" Weiss asked, looking around. "Wasn't it just with you?"

"What's a paladin?" You slightly tilted your head.

"What do mean 'what's a paladin?' That giant robot that was with you during initiation. That has to be a paladin, right?" She looked to you, before looking amongst her friends.

"That would be incorrect, Weiss Schnee." The monotone voice of your titan said, walking up to you.

"Get back!" Yang yelled, putting Ruby behind her. The others seem to step back and get ready for combat. OS ignores them and walks behind you.

"There you are, Osiris. What kept you?" You asked, looking over your shoulder at him.

"I am sorry, pilot. The headmaster requested a moment with me." His data core optic was looking down at you.

"What did he want?" You asked.

"He requested that I keep quiet until the time is right. However I can override this request if-"

"That won't be necessary, Osiris. I'll give the old man the benefit of the doubt. Speaking of explanations, run a systems check. I wanna know how much of you I have to replace when we get back."

"That's so cool! It can talk! It can talk! What kind of weapons does it have? Does it have big weapons? *gasp* Its got a big gun on it back! Look at how big it is! I saw you climb inside it. Can I climb inside it? Please? Please?" She did all this by super speed dashing all over the titan, absolutely going nuts over the titan.

"HEY! Get that thing away from my sister!" You looked over and saw Yang activate her gauntlets and point them at your titan. The other students drew theirs and looked ready for a fight. OS recognized this, combined with the fact that Ruby was dashing all over his like she had done when she was trying to do damage to him in Vale, he recognized it as a threat.

"THREAT DETECTED." The titan's voice volume increased as he said this. He then shook Ruby off him and activated his energy siphon, charging it and pointing it at the students. The seven of them stood there with their weapons drawn, while Ruby was trying to get up, still in shock from being forcefully thrown off. Before anyone fired (luckily), you jumped in front of the students, blocking them from getting hit, putting out your arms to try and stop your titan from knocking them all out again.

"Wait! Stand down, Osiris. They aren't threats," you look back at Yang. "Yet."

"Affirmative. Disengaging." He retracted the siphon and looked at you. With an audible sigh, you did what you thought would get you out of this mess the fastest.

"Well, I suppose there's no way of getting around this now. Osiris, introduce yourself." You stepped back while your titan went down to one knee in front of them.

"Greetings, teams RWBY and JNPR. I am Militia SRS Vanguard class titan, OS-1415. You may call me OS."

"You're so cool!" Ruby was once again upon the titan asking him questions. "Can I see your weapons? What kind do you use? I saw him get inside you. Can I get inside you?" You cringed as she said that last part. "Can I go for a ride?" She now stood in front of the titan, completely mesmerized.

"I am sorry, Ruby Rose, but only a certified pilots are allowed to pilot the chassis." Ruby looked down in sadness. You decided to intervene.

"Don't say too much about the weapons, either. Don't want to ruin the surprise." Ruby makes a disappointed sound before sadly moving back to her team. Not wanting to get on the teams' bad side any more than you already were, you told her you might show her something later, which seemed to perk her up a little.

Before anyone else had the chance to say anything, your titan gabbed you and placed you inside the cockpit, and the two of you started walking back to the warehouse.

This is gonna be a long school year.
