Chapter 35
Third person
The two boys left the forest before dawn to get Leo home safely. It had always been that way; meet up at dusk and have Leo home a few minutes before dawn. They were used to it, but both craved for a time when they wouldn't have to say goodbye.
Leo didn't like that it was him who had to be home every night. Blake could stay in the forest all day if he wanted to. His parents wouldn't really care. Leo's parents however we're very upset when he stayed out for part of the day just by accident. He seriously doubted that they would ever let him stay out all day.
Blake and Leo walked to the outskirts of the kingdom before saying their much hated goodbyes. It was their least favorite part of the night. It meant that they wouldn't be seeing each other until the next night, or later.
The two boys shared a sweet kiss for a few moments before they went their separate ways. It was a sweet embrace, not rushed and thoughtless. That's what separated them from other teenagers. Their love actually meant something to both of them.
Leo ran back to the Candy kingdom after that, leaving Blake to walk back home alone. It was nearly dawn now. The flame boy didn't mind walking home alone, although he preferred to walk with Leo.
As Blake walked through the forest he noticed a hollowed out tree with something hidden inside. He thought it was just leaves until a bright pink book cover came into view. He gave the book a few looks before wondering why it was hidden in a tree and how long it had been there.
The flame boy was raised by Finn to be a scavenger and use anything that could be of helpfulness to him. While Blake didn't think he could use the notebook he was curious to what its contents were.
He opened it and flipped through the first few pages before realizing the handwriting was Leo's. This was Leo's notebook.
"What's something of Leo's doing out here...?" Blake asked himself quietly, being unsure of the answer.
He thought about the writing in the notebook had an answer and it did. He read through several pages before reading that the notebook was hidden in the tree to keep it away from Leo's parents.
Blake didn't exactly feel good about reading his lover's journal, but he wanted answers. If it came down to it the flame boy would let Leo read his journal. He wouldn't mind if it made them even.
Many pages talked about how Leo loved Blake and longed to be with him. It was nearly all that was written in the notebook. The writing made Blake's heart beat faster and smile at the thought of his partner feeling the way he did. The journal just made him happy.
Towards the end of the book however was a different topic of writing. It discussed how Leo craved to be intimate with Blake. It made the flame boy's face flush a deep read and he knew that his body temperature had risen.
Blake couldn't believe how flustered he was just from some writing. Perhaps it wasn't the topic, but the fact that it was Leo writing it.
The flame boy always saw Leo as innocent. He would have never expected him to write such things. But he now knew just how much his partner wanted him.
