3rd Person POV
[The answer was....
amber!]
"You'll pay for that." Percy growled, shooting them his full-on wolf glare. "Nico, you know what to do. Get Solace and Elwin! HURRY!" He ordered. Nico nodded, and shadow-traveled Annabeth to the Foxfire healing center.
"Now, where were we?" Percy smiled coldly. His bloodlust was back. "Ah yes, the part where I strangle you in your own blood." The fact of saying that the Neverseen looked terrified was an understatement
[Warning, this chapter might be a little dark. Emphasis on the word dark.]
Percy held out his palm and squeezed it into a fist. Gisela screamed and fell to the floor, blood dripping from her mouth. She shrieked in agony, writhing on the floor as the other members looked at her helplessly. Percy unclenched his fist.
"That was only level one. Who wants to go next?" His eyes glowed a murky green. They all cowered. Linh looked horrified in the background, and Sophie covered her mouth with a hand and clutched Keefe with the other. Fitz and Biana were still clutching each other. Dex had a hand on Biana's shoulder, whispering comforting words into her ear.
"Hey, guys? This could get really gross for your delicate little elf-y brains so don't watch." Percy warned. Everyone nodded skeptically, except for Sophie.
"Percy, no! You can't do this." She begged. He glowered at her.
"Yes, I can. You saw what they did, you of all people! They killed Kenric, remember? And so many gnomes and even some elves. They tortured humans. They kidnapped you and Dex. They kidnapped your own parents! No. It's time for revenge. You of all elves should know that." Percy insisted. Sophie still looked slightly doubtful, but she closed her eyes and buried her face into Keefe's arms.
[If you're wondering, yes, I do ship Sokeefe, Bianex, Wylinh, and Fitz with the chandelier.]
Percy nodded and turned back to the Neverseen. "Let's get back to the matter, shall we?" A small evil grin quirked his lips and he lifted his arms. All the members collapsed and thrashed in pain. They were silent, courtesy of Percy, but their faces was pure anguish. An ogre did the fatal mistake of charging at the demigod, but he just held out his other hand and it fell down on its face, dead.
"P-please!" One of the Neverseen cried out. "Mercy!"
"Mercy?" Percy's eyes glowed again. "You haven't shown any, so why should I?" He sneered. Then he paused. "Wow. That sounds dark. I sound like Nico." He laughed humorlessly and twisted his fingers and they all collapsed, unmoving.
[Hehehe...#darkPercy]
"Now that that's out of the way, let's go kill the rest of the army." He twirled around and saw his friends trembling.
"Percy...that was just..." Sophie trailed off.
"Creepy? Dangerous? Extremely unnerving?" Keefe suggested.
"I was going to say horrific, but that counts." Fitz said. He turned to Percy. "Are they dead?" He pointed at the bodies.
"I guess...not? I didn't unleash all of my power." Percy shrugged, but he looked exhausted. "Now, are we going to kill those guys? 'Cause they're kinda charging at us now." He pointed at the swarming army and uncapped Riptide. It slashed at the nearest goblin, disintegrating into dust. Sophie took out Hope, and the rest of the gang took out various daggers, goblin throwing stars, and Dex's gadgets. The battle raged, and soon after, the whole hill was covered in golden dust and blood.
"Is everyone ok?" Sophie called out. She had a cut on her cheek and was limping a bit, but she was otherwise unharmed. Tam and Linh looked soaking wet, and she was leaning against Tam, but they were fine. Fitz and Biana looked surprisingly fierce, holding daggers and goblin throwing stars, and Dex looked like something blew up in his face and grinning maniacally. Everyone was here except for...
"Percy!" Nico di Angelo melted out of the shadows towards a limp body in the grass.
"Oh no..." The son of Hades shook Percy by his shoulders. "He used up too much of his energy." Smoke was curling off of his arms, and his raven-black hair was graying. Nico dug through his pockets and broke off a piece of ambrosia from a bar and shoved it into Percy's mouth. He didn't respond.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, Kelp face, you are not dying on me. Not this time. Not ever. Remember Annabeth? You're girlfriend? She needs you, Percy, we all do!" He took out a canteen of nectar and dripped it into his mouth. Percy's skin was turning paler by the second.
"Light-leap him to Elwin's office!" Nico ordered. "Wait, no. I'll shadow travel him there. Meet me there!" He melted into shadows while carrying Percy bridal-style.
"C'mon, we don't have time to lose!" Sophie's voice was shrill. She took out her crystal and held it up to the light. The elves stepped into the beams of light holding hands.
[LINE BREAK CAUSED BY SHADOW TRAVEL]
[ANOTHER LINE BREAK CAUSED BY LIGHT-LEAPING]
"Will!" Nico cried as he laid Percy gently onto an empty bed. He wrapped his arms around Will. They embraced for a fleeting moment, and then Will saw the body of Percy. Bullhorn, the banshee, also noticed and started screaming.
"Oh gods, no. Nico, what happened?" Will rushed to Percy. "Why isn't he moving? Don't tell me he's dead, he can survive this. No, not after Gaea. This is AN OUTRAGE! PERSEUS JACKSON YOU GET UP RIGHT NOW!" Nico slumped his shoulders as Bullhorn curled up next to Percy's chest.
"He didn't respond to the ambrosia or nectar. I don't know what happened." He admitted. "Is he even alive?" Will checked his pulse.
"Just barely." He breathed, looking relieved. "I'm going to pray to dad and see if he helps."
"I can do better than that, Will." Apollo flashed into the room. "Percy's on the brink of dying, so I decided to pop in. Again." Nico rolled his eyes.
"'Again' is an understatement." He grumbled. "He keeps almost dying on us." Apollo ignored the statemen and touched Percy's forehead. A dazzling bright light filled the room.
"Apollo? What are you—oh my gods, Percy!" Annabeth tried to get up, but Elwin stopped her.
"Hey, hey, keep it cool, Annabeth. You just got stabbed in the arm by a poison knife. Take it easy."
"I can't take it easy! PERCY LITERALLY IS DYING AND I CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT!" She sobbed.
"He's near the Underworld now." Nico added. Annabeth screamed. Will shot him a look.
"Not helping, di Angelo." He muttered. Nico shrugged. "I thought we were stating the obvious." He retorted. Annabeth willed her hazy vision to focus on Percy. He was pale. Almost as pale as Nico.
"Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods..." She muttered. "Someone help me over to his cot." Sophie slid her arm around Annabeth and she limped to the bed and touched his forehead. It was cold. Apollo was mumbling some words. She caught awesome, sun, water, stupid, seaweed, and head. She didn't need to be a child of Athena to know what he was saying.
"He'll get better, right? He's going to come back!" She insisted. Apollo didn't answer. Tears streamed down her face.
"Um...Annabeth?" Apollo started. Percy's chest was still.
[hehehe...plot twist?]
"NO!" She screamed, leaping forward, ignoring the stabbing pain in her arm. Suddenly, Percy sneezed.
"KERCHOO!" He spluttered and bonked his head on Annabeth's. "Owww...Annie, your head is hard." He complained, rubbing his temple. Annabeth knocked him over his a kiss. Elwin gagged.
"You might want to let him breathe, Annabeth." Will laughed. She let go of him, and Percy smiled, wiping his nose.
"You idiot! You almost died again!" She pointed at his chest accusingly. "And don't call me Annie!" He sneezed again.
"I think I'm allergic to your worriness, Wise Girl." He mumbled. She rolled her eyes.
"'Worriness' isn't even a word, Seaweed Brain." She ruffled his hair. "I think almost dying took its toll on you."
"Nah, I'm fine. Besides, I'm the Seaweed Brain! That's why ya love me!" He joked, flashing her a lopsided smile. Everyone laughed.
"Ok, as much as I hate to ruin this, what Percy did was terrifying back there." Fitz interrupted. Annabeth shot a sharp look at her boyfriend.
"What did you this time, Perseus?" She glared. Percy gulped. "Um, I might've killed the Neverseen or something, I probably didn't, but I still caused enough pain to scar them for life." He admitted. "Welp, they deserved it."
Annabeth smacked him. Hard. "You idiot! That was freaking dangerous, for Zeus' sake! You could've died! You could've—"
"Before you list all of the mistakes that I've done, can I get a round of applause for surviving! I love it when I do that." He held out his hands. Silence. If this were a movie, crickets would've chirped in the distance.
"Ooookay..." He mumbled. "So, no applause. Hey, at least I survived, right?" He was rewarded with another slap to the face, this time by Sophie. Elwin had the nerve to laugh. Apollo joined in, and soon, everyone was laughing, with the exception of Nico, who settled for a small smile.
"So, the Neverseen are gone now?" Sophie asked, clearly looking done with saving the world with Percy. His face fell.
"Well, no, I went to Elysium and—"
"YOU WENT TO ELYSIUM??? THAT'S HOW CLOSE TO DEATH YOU WERE???" Annabeth yelled. He cowered.
"Jeez, Annabeth, it's just that Zoe had a message for me—"
"ZOE? OH MY GODS, LIKE, ZOE NIGHTSHADE?"
"Yes, Wise Girl, now please stop interrupting me. Gods, it's like we switched personalities. APHRODITE! IS THIS YOUR DOING?" He yelled up into the sky. It rumbled. He rolled his eyes, muttering something that sounded like, "She wants to torture us."
"Anyways, yeah, Zoe told me that the Neverseen hadn't been defeated just yet. That army was just a tiny part of the whole group. Which means there could be a lot of almost dying for me and possibly Sophie." Sophie groaned.
"I've had enough almost dying for a lifetime." She muttered.
"Me too. I think I've had enough of almost dying for an eternity." Percy agreed. Keefe wrapped his arm around Sophie.
"Hey, Foster, I've had my fair share of almost dying too, you know." He flashed his famous smirk. "We should still stick to the name 'fostered it' though. Like right now, Percy just Fostered it." Percy rolled his eyes.
"Ok, that was the most random thing I've ever heard, but ok. Anyways, I wanna go and kick the Neverseen's ass."
"Language." Elwin murmured half-heartedly.
"No, you're not. You're going to rest here, and you can't do anything about it. Annie here's going to make sure about that. Right, Annie?" Will looked at Annabeth, only to get slapped in the face.
"I told you not to call me Annie!" She growled. Will held up his hands in surrender.
"Ok, ok, jeez. Anyways, you're going to make sure he's going to stay here, right?" She nodded.
"Seaweed Brain, if you don't stay here and recover, then I swear to the gods that I'll kill you. Very. Painfully." Percy gulped and nodded silently. Nothing like a little Annabeth Fury to keep him in bed.
[yay! this took me so much time to do...
