Chapter 10
~ Some time of fighting ~
Jiraiya roundhouse kicks the last man out of the whole gang of men unconscious. You, Kakashi, Yamato, and Jiraiya were panting from exhaustion from taking them all down. Madara was sitting as if he was waiting for a long time just for you all to finish. He stood up and sighed.
"Have you all finished warming up?" Madara says as he faces the group in front of him. You frowned at him as Kakashi clenched his fists. Madara only chuckled by your reactions.
"Well, if you're all finished, then prepare yourse-" Madara was cut off by Zetsu's sudden appearance. He went to Madara and whispered in his ear.
"We've been summoned. Another jinchuriki as been captured and everyone is currently waiting for us to appear to proceed with the ceremony." Madara was annoyed by the timing but clearly gave up knowing the importance of attending the extraction of the tailed beast into the Gedo Statue. He slowly started to sink into the ground with Zetsu.
"Consider yourself very lucky, (Name). Another jinchuriki has appeared in your place. Rejoice in your extra time, for one day when you least expect it, I'll snatch you away once again. Farewell." With that being his last words, Madara and Zetsu had vanished completely into the ground, their presence disappearing. You let out a sigh of relief as you put your Katana away. Using it only enhanced your abilities making you quite exhausted. You turned to Kakashi and smiled as you ran into his arms, into his tight embrace. Jiraiya and Yamato only smiled as they watched the both of you share a moment.
"Thank goodness you found me, Kakashi. But... how did you realize I was in danger?" You say as you pull away a little bit from Kakashi to look up at his face. Kakashi sighed as he remember the trouble he went through as your mission was compromised.
"Madara had ambushed me beforehand. He told me that he was going to take you away.. I made sure before I even left the village that I had Yamato for some backup. He later found Master Jiraiya, who agreed to help. I had Pakkun and the others locate you so we could come to your aid." Kakashi said as he pushed a strand of your hair behind your ear. You pouted and pulled away from Kakashi, folding your arms in an annoyed expression.
"You obviously didn't think I was strong enough to take care of myself in this mission if you had planned ahead that far enough in case it would fail. I'm strong enough to take care of myself you know." Kakashi sweatdropped as he noticed how annoyed you were. Jiraiya and Yamato did the same as they watched the loving moment take a turn for the worse.
"I do know that, (Name). But one can never go wrong for asking for support from their comrades when they need them most. Or did you not want us to intervene and let Madara have his way?" Kakashi said sarcastically as he smiled. Jiraiya covered his mouth while Yamato had a poker face as they noticed you getting angrier. They were sending their thoughts and prayers to Kakashi.
"Excuse me?! Even if you hadn't shown up I wouldn't had let him have his way! I would have been perfectly fine without you! Now if you'll excuse me, I have a mission to complete." You scoffed as you made a sharp turn away from Kakashi and started tying up the men around you. Kakashi sighed, realizing he only made the situation worse with his sarcasm.

After your other reinforcements came to arrest the gang of criminals, there was one problem left to worry about. When you went back into the hideout to beat everyone there associated with the gang, you couldn't find Satoru. He must have slipped out before you got to him. It made you angry, as long as he's free then your mission isn't over.
The sun was setting as you and the others were walking back to the Leaf village. You and Kakashi haven't spoken to each other since your little argument. You watched him with sad eyes, staring at his features from behind him, as he led everyone in walking ahead alongside Yamato. You were behind them, you felt stupid for the way you reacted towards him.
"He only came to my rescue and what did I do to repay him...? Yell at his face... I'm the worst.." you thought to yourself while holding the golden pendant of your necklace, looking at the ground as you continued to walk slowly. Jiraiya who was in between the couple had noticed your distance and fell back to check on you.
"Hey, (Name)-chan." He said low enough so only you could hear him. You looked at your sensei with a pleading look for advice. You really wanted to apologize for acting like an idiot so Jiraiya was your only hope. Jiraiya was shocked but knew what you wanted with that one look.
"Come on, don't give me those sad eyes. You just need to apologize to him when you two are alone. You both love each other so there's no way one silly argument is going to keep you apart. Okay?" Jiraiya said while patting your back and smiling at you. You clenched onto the pendant and returned the smile.
"I hope so, Jiraiya-sensei..." you say as you focus you attention back to Kakashi. The sun setting in front of him made you feel calm as you see the love of your life in this beautiful setting. If only he looked at you just once.
Kakashi, unaware to you, was dreading every second of the walk because he wanted to hold your hand and look at your beautiful face as you watched the sunset together. Watching it only reminded him of your first date together. The two of you by the river near the training grounds, holding you in his embrace as you shedded tears for him, remembering that he told you about his pain that you failed to notice at first. He sighed, wanting to make up already for upsetting you, but he thought it was best to give you your space instead.
"Are you okay, Kakashi-sama?" Yamato said as he was walking beside Kakashi, snapping him out of his thoughts. Kakashi only gave him a closed eye smile and nodded.
"Also, I couldn't help but notice... but does that box have a ring inside it?" Yamato says in a low whisper as he points to the little blue box containing the ring Kakashi got for you nearly falling out of his bag. Kakashi's eyes widened as he grabbed it quickly and shoved it in his pocket, hoping you didn't notice. To his luck, you didn't but it failed to go unnoticed by Jiraiya who was suddenly inspired to write some notes for his next book.
"It is... but obviously, I haven't gotten the chance to ask her yet... and with that stupid argument we had, I don't think she even wants to speak to me." Kakashi says as he sighs. Yamato thought to himself and got an idea.
"Kakashi-sama, would you be able to propose if I created the perfect setting for it?" Yamato whispered as he looked around the area, which seemed familiar to him. Kakashi blinked a couple times while blushing before responding.
"Y-Yeah, I can. But how can you do that right now?" Yamato only smiled at Kakashi as the sun finished setting. A full moon was starting to appear as night fell.
"Just leave it to me."
~ Time Skip ~
You were sitting near a fire that you started by yourself since the guys asked to stop and rest for the night. You thought you could at least talk to Kakashi when they suggested that, but the moment you tried to approach him, Jiraiya and Yamato drag him away running. You held your knees close to your chest as you rested your head on them.
"What could they be doing... they've been gone for a while now..." you said out loud as you sighed, feeling sad due to Kakashi avoiding you the entire time. You hated not being able to talk to him, let alone just walk beside him. As you were about to fall asleep from the warmth of the fire, Jiraiya appears shouting your name and shaking you awake.
"(Name)-chan!! Don't you dare fall asleep! I managed to get Kakashi alone so now's your chance to apologize to him!" Jiraiya said with a grin, mentally smirking due to knowing the surprise you were about to receive. You jolted up awake as you realized the opportunity you had. You jumped and gave Jiraiya a tight hug.
"Really?! Where is he? I can't miss this chance." You said as you panic a little and pace back and forth in front of Jiraiya.
"Just run straight from here, he's just watching the moon." Jiraiya says as he pointed in the direction Kakashi was in. Without any time to waste, you sprinted in that direction to see Kakashi. You slowed down when you started to hear a waterfall. When you spotted Kakashi from afar, you slowed down from running and just started walking towards him. He was watching the moon by a lake with his hands in his pockets.
(Decription of scenery)
You took a deep breathe and approached him.
"K-Kakashi..." you sad shyly as you stood a bit behind him, blushing from being nervous and the beautiful setting you were in. He turned around and smiled at you.
"Hey (Name)... I've been meaning to talk with you... but I thought you were still angry with me, so I assumed you wanted your space." Kakashi slowly got closer to you, resisting the urge to touch you. You shook your head no and quickly ran into his arms, hugging him tight. Kakashi was stunned for a moment before he return the hug.
"I'm sorry, Kakashi. I was mad for no good reason. I was acting foolish and got angry because I thought that you believed I wasn't strong enough to protect myself. Please don't ignore me anymore, don't be mad..." you started to tear up. Kakashi's eyes widened when he heard you apologize, not expecting that the distance between the two of you was also affecting you as much as it was to him. He smiled while chuckling and rubbed your back.
"You don't have to apologize, we were both at fault for the argument. I just wasn't smart with my choice of words. I only ended up making you angrier... forgive me.." you looked at to him and nodded. Kakashi sighed in relief and smiled at you. Then he pulled away, still holding your hands as he mentally prepared himself for what he was going to do next.
"It's now or never, Kakashi.." he thought to himself as he exhaled.
"Keeping my distance from you was hard, all I wanted to do was just walk beside you and hold your hand. It also got me thinking as well. (Name), I realized that the time I caught you running out of the restaurant was not the first time I met you. We met when you were living with Minato sensei... but back then I rarely saw you, yet the moments I did see you... I simply thought you were adorable." Kakashi started blushing madly while smiling.
You laughed a bit from his words, a slight image of you glancing from behind Kushina at the young Kakashi came into your mind. You both catch each other's eyes, Kakashi giving you a rare smile that even his friends don't see often, Minato realizing Kakashi's soft spot for you but only thinking it was friendly rather than romantic. Kushina on the other hand was shipping it every time she thought of it. You were taken out of the flashback as you shook your head.
"After the nine-tails attack, I didn't see you anymore... so I just thought you went away. Meeting you again has brought me nothing but happiness. Not only did I meet that knucklehead, Naruto... I got a chance to love and protect someone close to me again. I used to be very closed off about my feelings due to losing everyone dear to me... but after countless times of thinking I've lost you... you ended being the only one who came back to me..." Kakashi said, slowly going down on one knee. Tears were beginning to form in your eyes as you realized what direction the moment was going.
"I want to protect you.. love you.. and cherish the one blessing my life hasn't taken away from me." Kakashi then pulls out the box and slowly opens it to reveal a beautiful ring. Simple yet stunning. You covered your mouth trying to contain your emotions that were spiraling out of control.
"Marry me..." Kakashi says as he watches you cry while covering your mouth. You nod your head multiple times, unable to speak, until you opened your eyes and lunged toward Kakashi.
"YES! OF COURSE I'LL MARRY YOU KAKASHI!" Kakashi smile grew even wider as he heard you. He grabbed you and spun you around countless times as you both laugh. Kakashi gently put you down and slid the ring on your finger. He wiped the tears away from your face and was holding you close while caressing your cheek. You pulled down his mask and watched his happy expression as he smiled.
"I love you, Kakashi.." you said tryna to prevent yourself from crying anymore tears of joy. Kakashi's expression only softened.
"I love you more..." Kakashi leaned in and kissed you. It was slow and passionate. A strong wind hitting the both of you, your hair being blown all over the place as leaves surround the both of you, but not breaking the kiss. Kakashi was pulling you as close as possible and deepened the kiss. Everything was perfect. Nothing could ruin the beautiful moment you both shared.
~ To Jiraiya and Yamato hiding somewhere nearby ~
Yamato had been smiling as he watched everything while sitting in a tree branch. Jiraiya did the same while leaning against the tree.
"Master Jiraiya... do you think they will be happy together?" Yamato said while looking at Jiraiya. Jiraiya only chuckled as he still kept his focus on the couple.
"After what they both went through... all the tragedies, deaths, and obstacles they faced separated and together... I have no reason to believe that they wouldn't. They truly love each other..."
