Beatles Books
Here are just some books about the Beatles which I borrowed from my local library. Sorry if these look blurry to you, I was taking pictures of them with my IPad and it's kinda hard to keep it steady sometimes.
First we have Ringo's collection of all the postcards that the other Beatles had sent to him in 'Postcards From The Boys'.
Then next to it is Paul's cute story 'High In The Clouds' which is about a squirrel and a frog traveling to a paradise called Animalia, I don't want to give away too much of the plot though so I suggest you find the book and read it yourselves, it's a really fun read. Also Paul directed animated bits based on this story and placed them into a DVD called 'Paul McCartney, The Music And Animation Collection'.
The book 'Et Si Les Beatles N'Étaient Jamais Allés Sur La Lune' is French for (I think) 'If The Beatles Never Went Over The Moon'. Basically a story about the Beatles song characters like Maxwell and Lucy living their everyday lives and John and Paul just hanging out with them and aren't famous.
'The Beatles In Comic Strips' is basically a collection of little comic strips that happen to include either the Beatles or Beatles references in them.
'John's Secret Dreams' is a small biography for kids about John's live as a Beatle and then later in his solo career. They don't mention a whole lot about his life though so don't really expect the kids to find out much about him... Though I think it's for the better.
'The Beatles Were Fab (And They Were Funny)' Is also a little Beatles biography for kids which also doesn't mention a whole lot about them other then their success in their early days, a bit of their lives before they were the Beatles and then their eventual final tour. Though at the end of the book has listed the most important dates in Beatles history, from their births to George's unfortunate passing.
'My Kid Brother's Band, The Beatles' is an autobiography written by George's sister Louise which is all about how they both grew up and seeing her youngest sibling be in a famous band and traveling the world and a lot of other stuff in there as well.
'A Hard Day's Write' is just a list of all the Beatles songs and the meanings behind them as well as when they were recorded and how.
'The Beatles' is yet another biography for kids, but this one does give a little more detail about the group (such as why they stopped touring later and bit more backstory about the Beatles early lives) and even have some actual photos of the Beatles when they were kids, in the group and eventually when they all split.
'Baby's In Black' is about when Astrid first met Stu when the Beatles were touring in Hamburg and how they both bonded together until his unfortunate passing. It's a pretty cool comic really.
'Beatles At The Movies' is a list of all the Beatles films that were either released or unfortunately never made due to some random reasons. A lot of the scrapped movies sound really awesome! Such as a western starring the Beatles as outlaws and one where Ringo has three different personalities that happen to be John, Paul and George. I really wish those films got made though, I would have downloaded them all!
Ah, 'Beatles With An "A"'. I don't think I have ever read a comic dirtier than this. It's all about the Beatles early days before they made it big as a group. And as stated above, it's really dirty and definitely not for anyone younger than 17. Since there's a panel where John is peeing on nuns, bare butts and breasts being shown, smoking and as well as some implied sex. But hey, it's the only Beatles book here that has Cynthia in it so I guess I got to give it some points.
And now for the last three. I have yet to read 'Read The Beatles' and 'Yeah Yeah Yeah', but I'm guessing they're also autobiographies about the Beatles.
'Who Was Eleanor Rigby and 908 More Questions And Answers About The Beatles' is basically a trivia book all about the Beatles songs and their meanings.
