Within the week I was cast as Madison Ray in Swapped Up, I must say, my life turned around.

I am currently residing in a condo in West Hollywood, getting invites to TV news shows, red-carpet appearances, and so on. A week ago, you told me I was going to be this famous. I would have laughed in your face.

Today, I was seated in my apartment, eating cereal while watching the view of the ocean. My apartment was on the fourth floor of the building and I loved it so much especially because the view was spectacular. My apartment and the furniture were sponsored by the producers of Swapped Up. The apartment was large, the walls, tiles, and some furniture were white. The rest were brown, except the gold chandelier, the hot tub was like a dream come through. I can't deny, I slept off in there a few times.

Penelope slammed my door, walking towards me, angrily. As she got closer. I tried to place the reason for her sudden visit.

Close up..... Naah.

Meeting with Melissa..... Naah.

Lunch with cast..... Naah.

Appearance on What's the Big Idea show ....... Ooohh!!!!

I bolted from my seat into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me. A few minutes later, she banged on the door "Ruby it's 2:30, you're supposed to be ready by now. Unless you forgot about the fact you have an appearance today on the show."

I turn on the shower head to avoid answering her question. Penelope Cornel is my agent, she appeared on Johnny's doorstep bright and early on Thursday morning, claiming to be my agent sent by the producers. She always has a strictly business look on her face, her shining red hair tied up in a tight bun as usual.

I heard her faint sigh, I turned off the shower. "I am so sorry, Penelope. I just got so carried away by the view."

"Just hurry up, would you" she whispered, walking away.

Doing my best for a quick shower. I picked out stonewashed, ripped jean overalls and sneakers. I pull my hair into a messy ponytail. I waltzed back to the living room. Penelope was by the sink taking care of my dirty dishes. One of the things I noticed about my agent was she sure was a clean freak, probably the cleanest of them all.

Hearing my footsteps she turned to face me, she pinched her nose at my appearance. "Really? This is what you're going with?"

I nod at her and she sighs. "Ruby, it's international television," she said, abandoning the dishes. She walks up to me, crossing her arms under her boobs.

"Penny, am not changing this. You can't make me, so can we just go? We are already late." I shrugged at her, heading towards the door. I stopped midway when I noticed Penny wasn't behind me. I turned back to see her in my kitchen, with the dishes. Typical Penelope.

Through the car ride, Penelope tried convincing me to change my outfit. She sounded quite miserable when I told her point blank I wasn't going to change. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes anyway. All week she tried pleading with me to go shopping or get a phone and I said no. Twenty-two years without technology took a toll on me. I love the idea of phones, especially with the shiny and colorful cases my family had back home but the thought of having one for myself scared and excited me at the same time.

Immediately I got to the show set, I headed over to the makeup team. "Hi guys," I said cheerfully, smiling at them.

A guy among them squealed as he saw me. "OMG! IT'S RUBY DANIELS!!!!" He runs towards me at full speed, making me afraid he will smash right into me. He surprises me by stopping right in my face "Oh my God, you're Ruby Daniels am so excited to finally meet you. Can you sign on my shirt?"

I looked up at the guy confused. I'm only famous for like, a week and he is already more excited than I am. "Sure..." I reply, unsure as he moves closer to me almost making me lose my balance. I quickly scribbled on his shirt and he moved away.

"I am sorry about him?" Desiree said she walked over to me. Desiree was my makeup artist. I met her when Penny introduced me to her during my close-up on Swapped Up. She was the closest thing I had to a friend and I was okay with that.

"He always behaves that way when he meets a celebrity. Like a child in the candy store," she said, ushering me to a chair. I sit down as she does her magic to my face and I get to know about Evan, the weird autograph shirt guy. He is the head hairstylist on the What's The Big Idea show.

He works in silence as he fluffs and puffs my hair. He braids the sides and gathers the rest into a ponytail. His hands felt so soft like I was sleeping in my tiny cloud. I close my eyes and start to drift away I almost did hear Evan speak in a low voice. "I apologize about earlier for almost pushing you on the floor, I just get so excited when I meet a celebrity."

My eyes still closed, I hear the frizz of something cold touching my scalps. I open my eyes as he gathers my untouched hair into a pony. My reflection suddenly screams pop star beauty queen. "I am not a celebrity Evan, I just got cast in a drama a week ago, and it's not a big deal. There is no way I would be more famous than a potato by now," I smile, touching my suddenly blonde hair which appeared to have miraculously added more volume than two hours ago when I was struggling to comb through a flat bedhead.

"Are you sure? There are a lot of stories about you on the internet."

I open my mouth to argue, but I close it due to Penny walking up to me. "Five minutes till you're called to the stage."

Saying a quick goodbye to Desiree and Evan. I followed Penny to the stage set, greeting and complimenting everyone as we walked by. A stagehand ushers me towards the curtain, close enough to enter the set of the show. The host whom I met earlier this week, Ryan glances at something on his phone as the director cues in the music to show the show. Ryan straightens his suit and smiles wide directly into the cameras.

The show starts

"Hello, Ladies and gentlemen or some might say hey people!! As always I am your host, Ryan Reynolds and I greet you all good evening. Today, we have very special guests with us, and I am sure you all are as excited as I am to meet them," the guy hosting the show said. I stand alongside the stagehand who led me here at the edge of the stage, waiting for the music to cue me in. I turned my head to search for Penelope I noticed her standing beside the snack table.

"First, let's welcome our first guest ..... Zachary Reynolds," the show host calls as a tall guy walks out from the other side of the stage.

The crowd cheers, screams even hoots as he walks to his seat. The stage was set with two large armchairs facing each other, a table with flowers in the middle, and the show's name printed in flashy fonts and lights in the background of the set.

"Who is he?" I whispered to Penny who stared at me like I had told her DC was better than Marvel.

"Wha.....that's Zachary Reynolds a billionaire CEO," she said, dreamily.

I stare at the guy. Hard.

He had thick black hair which looked like his hands combed through it rather than using an actual comb. He lifted his head as he laughed at something the host said and damn, his eyes met with mine. He had a beautifully structured nose, a strong jawline, and those almond-coloured eyes I couldn't look away from. He suddenly broke eye contact with me and I shifted from oblivion.

".....Well Ray, what can I say? I mean the ladies love me," he said turning to me, smirking. I roll my eyes at him. Rude much, I thought to myself. Was he making fun of me? Was that why he looked at me? Worse of all, I barely had a recollection of the question he was asked before calling him rude in my head.

"Let's welcome our second guest, the gorgeous lady we have all been waiting for Ruby Daniels!!"

Zach

I could not help but stare at the woman walking to the stage. I have never seen her before, anywhere. The audience cheered loudly as she hugged Ray and pecked him on the cheek. She smiled widely, waving at the audience, her eyes, I wish I could determine the color but I was seated too far away. I felt the urge to stand and look into those eyes because they shone so brightly under the studio lights.

She was beautiful. Her blond hair was packed into a ponytail, and her face, her lips all added up to make her perfect. She looked cute in her jeans and overalls. She was perfect. I was also amused by the fact that she came on air wearing that. Sitting next to me, she sent me a death glare. I couldn't help but admire her beautiful hazel eyes. Yes, that is the color. Wow. I could look at those eyes all day, he thought. We could do nothing but I would just stare into those eyes. So being the player I was, I winked at her earlier, a great way for me to make a first impression.

"Ruby, I am Ray. Can I say am excited to be sitting here with you?" Ray said excitedly, smiling widely at her.

Of course, she was Ruby Daniels. This girl went all over the internet overnight, I had expected to meet her today, but I didn't expect she would be this beautiful.

"I'm also excited to be here and also meeting you in person Ray," she said, smiling sweetly at him making the man in his mid-forties blush. Her voice was smooth as silk, it also had a mix of humor added to it. My thoughts wandered to her screaming my name as I.........

"Zach, Zach are you okay? We lost you for a minute" Ray said as he and Ruby looked at me, confused.

"Ooh am sorry, you were saying?" I reply swiftly, smiling too widely at both of them.

"So what do you think of Miss Daniels, Zach?"

"I think she is very beautiful" I replied, the crowd awnned at my response. I also did not miss the blush that crawled up to Ruby's cheeks. I smiled smugly to myself. Maybe I wasn't wasting my thoughts after all.

Ruby

"So Ruby, how is your role on Swapped Up coming along? I mean, we can't wait to see your television debut on our screens as Madison Ray," Ray asked, the audience cheered.

"Well, it's been great, especially with the cast. They have all been so nice. I am so excited about the filming which starts soon......." I pause to take in more oxygen before I start rambling. "......And I can't wait to appear on your TV screen as Madison," I answered, beaming at the audience.

Ray nods at my answer before turning to the cameras, "There you have it people, excuse us as we go for a commercial break, don't forget we have Zach Reynolds and Ruby Daniels on the show. When we come back they would be taking your calls. Remember this is What's the big Idea! We be right back." He said as we waved at the camera, smiling.
