When these two Elemental Ninjas have a friendly spar, only one can be the true victor

Kai

Kai is a highly trained martial artist and ninja, making him skilled in the arts of stealth, hand-to-hand combat and infiltration. He also has mastered the Spinjitzu technique, allowing him to form a fiery tornado around him, which speeds up his fighting and reaction speed in this form. He is the current Elemental Master of Fire, giving him control over flame. For a time, he unlocked his "True Potential" form, letting him survive an erupting volcano, turn into living flame and fire beams of heat from his body.

Weapons

Kai favors swords in combat, taking up a curved silver blade against the Skulkin when they attacked his shop. He used the Sword of Fire as his primary weapon until it was lost, and then switched to wielding regular katanas. He eventually gained an Elemental Blade that allowed him to harness his fire abilities to an even greater degree. Months after Lloyd defeated the Overlord, Kai, along with the other three ninja (Cole, Jay, and Zane), receive Techno Blades, a weapon which allows the ninja to hack into any electronics. He also has an Aeroblade (along with Cole, Jay and Zane), that can destroy ghosts

Feats

Capable of making careful observations when the need arises

He unlocked his "True Potential" form, letting him survive an erupting volcano, turn into living flame and fire beams of heat from his body

Weakness

Hotheaded, prone to taking action before he thinks things through.

Single-mindedness made interaction with his teammates difficult at first 

Can be arrogant at times, insisting that he is better than his peers and growing depressed when he seems to be lagging behind their training

Big ego

Constantly flirting with girls and enjoying the merchandise styled after him. 

Kai also has something of a stubborn side, believing that he is in the right until overwhelming evidence to the contrary is presented.

Kai repeatedly accused the four-armed villain of treachery or plotting despite Garmadon's insistence that saving Lloyd was his primary concern at the time.

Lost the Sword of Fire

Jay

Wind: Jay has been seen using the element of wind in a small vortex, but only once. It is assumed to be a side power associated with his main element: Lightning.

Lightning Abilities:

Jay can harness the power of Lightning to create a Spinjitzu tornado of pure electricity. His lightning powers were enhanced further by the Nunchucks of Lightning, and later by his Elemental Blade. In close-range combat, he favors nunchucks, but has used katanas and various improvised weapons on occasion. As the current Lightning Elemental Master, he can use his powers to charge and manipulate electrical devices.

General Abilities:

Jay has an eye for machines and gadgets, being in charge of repairing and maintaining the various technology at the Ninja's disposal. He was responsible for restoring the Destiny's Bounty to a functional state and equipping it with the modifications needed to make it fly. Over time, his inventing side was less emphasized, due to Nya and Dr. Julien taking up the role of gadgeteer, but Jay's skill with technology should not be underestimated.

Kai sat on top of a rock, meditating.

As he meditates, all of a sudden, Jay comes in and he greeted.

Jay: Hey Kai, whatcha doin'?

Kai looks up and he answers.

Kai: Oh nothing. Just meditating.

Jay sat next to him and he asks.

Jay: So can I join you.

Kai: Sure.

Jay closes his eyes and he meditates with Kai.

5 minutes later

As the two meditates Kai groans in annoyance and he complains.

Kai: Argh!!! This is so boring!

Jay opened his eyes and he sighs.

Jay: Yeah, you're right.

As the two sat up, an idea struck Kai, causing him to excitedly suggest.

Kai: Hey Jay, why don't we spar for a bit?

Jay shrugs and he said.

Jay: Sure. I mean, I'm pretty bored anyway.

Both Kai and Jay steps out and they brandishes their Elemental Blades and they got into a fighting stance.

After what seems like an enternity, both Kai and Jay sprints towards each other, trailing fire and electricity in their steps.

Both launches themselves and they swung their swords, clashing against each other.

Kai and Jay jumps back before the two charges towards each other.

Jay blocks Kai's attack before swinging his Elemental Blade at him.

Kai blocks the attack with his Elemental Blade before jumping up into the air, somersaulting around Jay.

Jay swung his Elemental Blade at Kai.

However, the red ninja jumps up and he throws a round house kick, striking Jay hard in the jaw.

Jay grunts as he staggers back.

Kai spun around before launching a blast of fire at Jay.

However, Jay recovers and he charges up a powerful surge of electricity in his palms.

The electricity forms into a pair of nunchucks, equiping Jay with a new weapon.

Just as the fireball closes in, Jay swung his Electrical Nunchuck, batting away the fire.

Jay swung his nunchuck before holding it back, getting into a fighting stance.

Kai kept his Elemental Blade and he brandishes his twin katanas.

Kai questions.

Kai: Ready for round two?

Although nervous, Jay narrows his eyes and he answers with a hint of confidence.

Jay: I'm ready whenever you are.

Kai charges forward and he swing his katanas at Jay.

Jay swung his nunchuck in a clockwise direction, parrying and countering Kai's attacks.

As Kai swung down his blades, Jay quickly raises up his nunchucks, blocking the blow just in time.

As Jay holds up Kai's swords, Jay throws a kick right into Kai's gut, knocking him back.

Jay spun his nunchucks around before spinning across the ground and whipping it across Kai's face, smacking him back.

Kai grunts as he staggers back.

As Jay whips his nunchucls, Kai adjusts his jaw and he compliments his friend.

Kai: Not bad. You're quite strong.

Jay smiles and he returns the compliment.

Jay: Heh. Thanks. You're not so bad yourself Kai.

Kai got into a fighting stance and he said.

Kai: Well let's get to it then.

Both Kai and Jay charges forward and the two swung their weapons, clashing against each other.

As Jay swung his nunchuck, Kai blocks with one of his katanas before throwing a kick, knocking Jay back.

Kai swung his katana at Jay's hand, disarming him.

Jay screams out in shock as the blade smacks the nunchucks out of his hand.

As Jay massages his hand, Kai spun around before throwing a blast of fire at Jay.

The fireball struck Jay right in the chest, blasting him back.

Jay screams out in pain as he falls over, landing on the ground with a loud thud.

As Jay grunts in pain, Kai points his Elemental Blade at him and he said smugly.

Kai: I win.

Kai offers out a hand, pulling Jay up.

As the two stood up, just then, the two heard the sound of metal clanging, causing them to turn.

Behind them, a huge futuristic tank drove forward, flanked by platoons of huge armoured Super Battle Droids.

As the tank stops in front of the temple, a Neimodian got out and he looks down at the two.

Confused, Jay turns to Kai and he questions.

Jay: Hey man, what do you think is going on?

Kai shrugs and he answers.

Kai: I don't know, but let's find out.

Kai approaches the Neimodian and he questions.

Kai: Who are you? Why are you here?

The Neimodian introduces himself.

???: I am Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation and this temple is mine!

Upon hearing that, both Kai and Jay got into a fighting stance and Kai shook his head.

Kai: Never. You're going down.

Gunray narrows his eyes and he orders.

Gunray: Then so be it. Attack!

The Super Battle Droids began opening fire at the ninjas, pushing them back.

Kai and Jay brandishes their Elemental Blades and they swung their weapons, deflecting the laser fire.

One of the Super Battle Droid fires and it says.

Super Battle Droid: Die Republic dogs.

The laser fire struck Jay in the shoulder, causing him to scream out in pain.

Kai: Jay!

Kai held Jay up and he swung his sword, deflecting the laser fire.

Nute Gunray laughs and he points his finger forward, ordering his troops to press on.

Kai helps Jay behind a statue and Kai questions Jay in concern.

Kai: Are you alright Jay?

Jay nods.

Jay: Yeah I'm fine. But we've got to deal with those machines.

Kai looks out and he said.

Kai: Looks like we will have to use our Ninjutsu.

However, Jay stops him.

Jay: Wait a second, let me try a little something.

Jay looks out and he puts out his hands.

The electrical energy within the Super Battle Droid began sparking and the Super Battle Droid suddenly began opening fire at it's comrades.

Unable to regain control, the Super Battle Droid exclaims.

Super Battle Droid: What's going on? I cannot control myself!

The Super Battle Droid turns and it opens fire at another Super Battle Droid, destroying it.

With the Super Battle Droid attacking it's own comrades, within minutes, the Super Battle Droids began clashing among each other, firing crimson lasers at each other.

Outraged and shocked at the situation, Gunray shouts out.

Gunray: What are you idiots doing?! Attack them!

Realizing their advantage, Kai screams out.

Kai: Now!

Kai and Jay races out, spinning a tornado of fire and lightning everywhere.

The Super Battle Droids explodes as the flames and electricity strikes them, destroying the droids.

Horrified, Gunray screams out.

Gunray: NNOOO!!!! My droids!

Both Jay and Kai stops in front of Gunray and the two screams as they launches a powerful blast of fire and electricity at Gunray.

Gunray widens his eyes and he screams in terror as the blast struck him, causing the entire tank to explode.

KABOOM!!!!

Both Kai and Jay watches as Gunray flies into the air, screaming.

Gunray: I will be back!

Kai: And we'll be ready.

Both Kai and Jay stops spinning and Jay exclaims.

Jay: That....was.....awesome!

Kai agrees.

Kai: I know right!?

Both Kai and Jay laughs, happy to be victorious in this battle.

Just then, Nya and Skylor suddenly enters the temple and Nya greeted them.

Nya: Hey guys I....whoa!

Nya and Skylor widens their eyes in shock as they saw a huge mess of robot parts lying around.

Shocked, Skylor questions.

Skylor: What happened?

Kai explains.

Kai: Well me and Jay had a sparring contest which I won but then some alien led his robot army here to attack the temple.

Jay: But we defeated them.

Jay finishes the sentence.

Skylor goes up to Kai and she compliments him.

Skylor: You defended this temple huh? Such a man, you deserve a kiss.

Skylor pulls Kai's lips towards hers and she gave him a kiss.

The two kisses and Skylor said.

Skylor: Good job Kai.

Kai chuckles as the two shares a kiss.
