Toomi: Born in 1897 in Japan, Tanjiro Kamado was the first son of Tanjuro and Kie Kamado.

Megumi: Nothing much can be said about him other than the fact he has multiple siblings and he lived as a model older brother until he stayed at a village overnight

Sachi: But everything changed when he returned home and saw his entire family murdered

Megumi: Luckily, not everyone in his family was killed. His little sister Nezuko survived though she got turned into a demon.

Toomi: After meeting Giyuu, one of the Hashiras from the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro joined the Corps in hopes of curing his sister's curse and killing Muzan, the demon responsible for the death of his family.

Sachi: His willpower pushed him through extraordinary challenges, such as splitting a boulder, climbing up and down a mountain, and unbelievable exhaustion, just to name a few!

Toomi: Luckily, Tanjiro had all the skills he need to succeed in his mission to become a Demon Slayer. He has an incredibly advanced sense of smell, many times greater than that of a human's. He can detect booby traps on a mountain, sense what kind of person Zenitsu Agatsuma is, and predict his opponent's movements.

Megumi: This guy's nose is insane! Even able to pinpoint the Line of Interval or 'opening line' where his nose pinpoints an enemy's slight pause in movement or moment of weakness, guiding him to slice into that point!

Sachi: But he is also incredibly athletic, able to jump incredibly high, crack ribs with a punch, push his body to fight despite broken bones, and stop a hemorrhage with his breathing.

Toomi: That's his Total Concentration Breathing, which Tanjiro uses to raise his physical prowess to its limit, giving him superhuman physicality! Tanjiro has also mastered many other Breathing Styles, such as Water Breathing, a style that integrates the flexibility, flow and adaptability of water into the user's techniques and abilities, coming in many different forms!

Megumi: Such as the First Form: Water Surface Slash where the user generates lots of momentum in a single concentrated slash, the Water Wheel, which releases a circular flowing attack, the Flowing Dance, where the user swings their blade winding motion with their body to slice everything in their path, and Whirlpool, generating a whirlpool of air to slice anything in its path, just to name a few.

Sachi: The Striking Tide delivers multiple attacks at the same time, the Splashing Water Flow is ideal when in a place without a solid foothold, and the Constant Flux takes the form of a water dragon that increases in power with each rotation the user takes.

Tanjiro: Hinokami Kaguya Dance!

Megumi: With it, Tanjiro's power and speed because his body is more suited to mimicking the Sun! He uses this incredible technique in attacks such as Dance, where he performs an extremely powerful vertical slash. Tanjiro has also combined this technique with the techniques from the Thunder Breathing Style to create his own unique Dancing Flash, where he intakes huge amounts of air, focuses it into his legs, and lets it all out in a high speed assault!

Sachi: The Solar Heat Haze is a horizontal slash that disguises the user's hit with a haze, the Beneficent Radiance delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy, the Sunflower Thrust is a single, powerful thrust, and the Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance seems to take the form of a fiery dragon made from solar flames, able to decapitate multiple targets at once.

Megumi: What an elegant and powerful name that just rolls off the tongue, heh. The Fire Wheel causes the user to leap behind an opponent to release a circular slash to catch foes in the back, the Parh- Para

Toomi: Parhelion Rainbow, which creates afterimages used to evade attacks, and the Flame Dance is a powerful combo attack that hits with both a vertical and horizontal slash

Megumi: And while it technically doesn't have a name, the Thirteenth Form aims to connect every single Sun Breathing form into one continuous attack, devised for the sole purpose of finally killing Muzan Kibutsuji by targeting every one of his vital organs. Tanjiro used this many times in his final battle with Muzan, fighting through poison and oxygen deprivation to give it his all.

Sachi: And, when his body reaches criticality, his Demon Slayer Mark activates, replacing his scar with a flame-like mark that pushed Tanjiro even further than before. His blade turns bright red, allowing him to hamper the regenerative abilities of a Demon, boost his physicality even further, and allows him to access the Transparent World.

Megumi: Which allows him to see the world in slow-motion, and show his opponent's blood flow and muscles, allowing him to predict their movements with an even greater precision.

Toomi: But it's not like he needs it to be powerful. Tanjiro's power has even been compared to a Pillar, some of the most powerful warriors in the Demon Slayer world. This, combined with taking on Muzan, should make him comparable to a weakened Doma, who created an ice sculpture at 321 tons of TNT! Muzan could even take on multiple Pillars at once!

Megumi: And in a last attempt to live, Muzan gave Tanjiro all of his remaining blood which transformed him into a demon which further enhances his powers, granting him regeneration, immunity to sunlight, shapeshifting, shockwave screams and energy projection.

Toomi: Though rescued his sister and cured her from being a Demon, but he was turned into a Demon himself by Muzan after his defeat

Sachi: Which as you guessed, end up turning him into the very thing he has been trained to destroy.

Megumi: And being a complete nice guy, Tanjiro cannot lie like at all. I mean he's too sweet, too honest. He'd bring shame to even a guy like Superman or Optimus Prime.

Weakness

Using Breath of The Sun after using Breath of Water can take a toll on his body.

After his battle with Muzan, he lost the ability to see out of his right eye and his left arm becomes wrinkled and he can't feel anything below his elbow.

Cannot tell a convincing lie

In his demon form, wisteria is poisonous to him.

He fights animalistic in demon form.

Toomi: Though getting turned into a demon isn't bad enough, Tanjiro has also lost his ability to see with his right eye and his left arm became so wrinkled he cannot use it anymore, rendering him incapable of fighting ever again.

Sachi: Throughout his life, Tanjiro was reckless and headstrong, often getting himself into situations that are in over his head, and if he overuses his Breathing techniques, it can often leave him winded.

Megumi: But no matter his weaknesses, Tanjiro will continue to push himself to overcome them and work to help others, no matter the cost.

Toomi: Edward Elric was a young man who awaited a glorious future, he loved his mother as if there were no tomorrow, together with his brother Alphonse Elric practiced the aforementioned Alchemy.

Sachi: For those who don't know, alchemy is the process of transmutation by which to fuse or reunite with the divine or original form which means to purify, mature, and perfect certain materials. In fact, alchemists of old has tried to turn lead into gold with no great results.

Toomi: But in the country of Ametris, the ancient science of alchemy is actually possible, by using the Earth's natural energy to reshape the molecular structure of various objects.

Megumi: And by drawing a circle thingy!

Toomi: A transmutation circle, which most alchemists use, except for the youthful prodigy, Edward Elric.

Megumi: They did not take the consequences of alchemy so seriously, so after their mother died they looked for a way to revive it. That would be the fatal mistake they would commit, marking them for life.

Sachi: Predominantly this happens due to the exchange that takes place behind the door of truth, souls, bodies and others are required to go through this, Edward trying to bring his mother sacrificed his own leg and arms, set to the body of Alphonse who is sealed in a close armor.

Edward: Take my leg! Take my arm! Take my heart anything you can have it! Just give him back! He's my little brother he's all I have left!

Toomi: This horrible experience has forever marked the two brothers. No one is meant to transmute the human soul, and the boys were lucky just to escape with their lives.

Megumi: But he got something good out of it, like super-secret knowledge, including how to do alchemy without a circle thingy. He just has to clap instead!

Toomi: With these new abilities, Ed and Alphonse began their quest to restore their bodies. Specifically, they sought the incredible power of a Philosopher's Stone, believing it to be their only chance. Eventually, Ed joined the military, and thanks to his amazing potential, he was named by the Führer, the "Fullmetal Alchemist".

Megumi: Fuher? Wait? Adolf Hitler?

Sachi: No. King Bradley.

Megumi: Also, since Ed lost a couple limbs, he got them replaced with Automail.

Toomi: Automail is made from incredibly durable metal, ranging from his original steel one to a gas-powered one, to his best version, consisting of a mix of aluminum and carbon. Apart from being durable metal prosthetics, Ed's Automail limbs function just like normal ones. He can even reshape his arm as a weapon.

Megumi: So, he can turn it into swords and saws and stuff, increase its durability by hardening its makeup, or turn it into an umbrella.

Toomi: But at the end of the day, Ed's true talent lies not in sword fighting or umbrella holding, but the art of alchemy.

Megumi: He can do all sorts of crazy things with all the elements. He can basically make anything he wants, like spears and shields.

Sachi: So long as he follows the rule of Equivalent Exchange. Anything created with alchemy must have a source of equal value, and cannot be made fundamentally different. For example, lead can be molded into a statue, but it cannot be turned into water. Other than that, there are three principles needed to use alchemy well: Comprehension...

Megumi: Which means you gotta understand what the thing you're using is made of.

Toomi: Destruction...

Megumi: Breaking down stuff

Sachi: And Reconstruction

Megumi: Putting stuff back together.

Toomi: Ed is only limited by the materials at hand and his imagination. At his full potential, he can do almost anything. He can purify water, create ammonium gas from ammonium nitrate, repair entire houses, and transform a gun into a trumpet.

Sachi: Anyway, with all of his abilities, Ed has done some incredibly impressive things. Things includes blocking gunfire from a gattling gun that just began firing, dodging a pistol at point blank range, and his automail arm took a bite from a lion chimera and it was fine.

Toomi: Assuming this chimera has a similar bite force to that of a real lion, that means Ed's arm stood up to a force of 1,000 pounds per square inch.

Megumi: He's created a gigantic cannon and then survived that cannon exploding while he was standing on it, and then he survived being on top of a huge boulder exploding, too!

Megumi: All this without any Philosopher Stone, because it turns out those things are really... really messed up.

Toomi: Right. Philosopher Stones are extremely powerful and can be used in many different ways. Kimblee the Crimson Lotus Alchemist, for example, used one to create a massive explosion equal to 157 kilotons of TNT. However, it turns out that these stones are composed of imprisoned human souls, so Ed and Al vowed to avoid them on principle. Although, Ed can boost his alchemic power in a similar manner by drawing on his own life force, increasing his potential at the cost of shortening his lifespan. But that's what Ed ultimately had to learn, what it truly means to let something go, and so he found another way to revive Al's body, sacrificing his own power for the sake of family.

Weakness

Can lose his cool over his size, specifically his height, or the well-being of his brother or their friends.

In order to restore his brother, Edward gave up his powers

Within the dark forest at night, both Edward and Alphonse Elric are walking through the thick vegetation in search for something.

Alphonse turns to Edward and he questions his older brother.

Alphonse: Brother. Are you sure the Philosopher stone is here.

Edward: Positive. In fact it's right over...

Before Edward could finish his sentence, he halts in his place staring at a small girl who is holding onto the stone.

The girl's eyes widens in curiosity as she stares at the stone.

However, just as Edward and Alphonse began approaching her, the girl suddenly felt their presence, scrambling backwards.

Girl: MHMMM!!!

Surprised by her outburst and her appearance, both Edward and Alphonse remarks to each other.

Edward: Whoa. What's up with her?

Alphonse: I don't know. But what is up with that bamboo in her mouth?

Edward shrugs as he approaches the girl, asking her.

Edward: Hey you. That stone you are holding, can you give it to us?

However, right at that moment, the two boys heard a loud voice calling out.

???: Hey!

Edward and Alphonse looked up, watching as a young boy cladded in a green garb with a marking on his forehead steps towards them.

The girl quickly runs towards him, hiding behind the boy as he says.

Tanjiro: What are you doing to my sister?

Edward: Your sister is holding something that belongs to us. Give it or else we will have no choice but to use force.

Both sibling pairs faces each other as Tanjiro declares out to the Elric brothers.

Tanjiro: Not a chance! I won't let you hurt Nezuko!

Announcer: Fight!

Tanjiro draws his sword just as Edward lunges forward, drawing his own blade as the two clashes into each other.

CLANG!!!

While Tanjiro and Edward are locked in battle, Nezuko looks up as Alphonse sprints forward, preparing to attack.

Alphonse: Come here you!

Just as Alphonse swings his hand out, Nezuko suddenly shrinks her body into that of a small child, shocking the boy.

Alphonse: Huh?

Nezuko: Mm! Mm! Mm! Mm! Mm!

Nezuko pants cutely as she runs away from Alphonse, leaving him staring at her in confusion before giving chase.

Alphonse: Hey come back!

As Alphonse chases after Nezuko, Tanjiro grits his teeth as Edward slams his blade into him, struggling as Edward shouts.

Edward: Give up!

Instead, Tanjiro slams his forehead straight into Edward's head, hitting him hard.

BAM!!!

Edward: OOOOOWWWWWWW!!!

Edward howls in agony as he clutches his head, backing away as he shouts at Tanjiro.

Edward: What's the deal? How is your head so strong?

Tanjiro: I don't know. It has always been that way.

Wiping away the blood on his forehead, Edward says.

Edward: Regardless, you're going down.

Edward transmute his sword into an automail arm before opening fire at Tanjiro.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

PLAK!!!

Deflecting one bullet with his sword, Tanjiro jumps back, dodging the bullets before lunging forward, shouting one.

Tanjiro: Water Breathing Second Form: Water Wheel

SWOOSH!!!

Water wave visuals emits from Tanjiro's sword as he slices through the barrage, closing in just as Edward transmutes a piece of metal into a club, blocking a blow from Tanjiro.

CLANG!!!

As both Tanjiro and Edward struggles against each other, Tanjiro demands out to Edward.

Tanjiro: Yield!

However, the fight isn't over yet.

Edward claps his hands as he transmutes a rock into another club, swinging it outwards as he slams it right into Tanjiro's face.

WHAM!!!

Tanjiro: ARGHHHH!!!

Edward then transmutes both clubs along with several small boulders into spikes before throwing them at Tanjiro, only for the Demon Slayer to breathe in.

Tanjiro: Water Breathing Third Form: Flowing Dance!

Tanjiro spins his body in a winding motion, slicing through the spikes only for Edward to transmute the ground, creating a massive wall blocking Tanjiro in his path.

GRRRRR!!!

Edward then thrusts his leg out, sending the rock wall moving forward, slamming into Tanjiro.

BAM!!!

Tanjiro: AAARGHHHH!!!

Tanjiro screams out in agony as the impact sends him crashing into a rock wall.

CRASH!!!

Among the smoking debris, Tanjiro stumbles out, coughing out blood as he clutches his body.

Edward began transmuting a stone cage with the debris, trapping Tanjiro within it.

CRUNCH!!!

Tanjiro: Huh?

Edward: Ha! Now you're trapped!

Edward then transmutes a nearby boulder into a rock cannon, preparing to finish Tanjiro off.

However, right at that moment...

Tanjiro: Breath of The Sun First Form: Dance

FWOOOM!!!

A powerful burst of flames visualises around Tanjiro's sword as he swings his sword outwards, shattering his boulder cage, shocking Edward.

Edward: What?!

Edward then aims the cannon, opening fire at Tanjiro.

BOOOM!!!

Tanjiro: Water Breathing Sixth Form: Whirlpool.

Tanjiro began twisting his body aggressively, creating a whirlpool of air, deflecting the projectile sending it flying back to Edward, shocking the Fullmetal Alchemist.

Edward: You got to be kidding me!

KABOOM!!!

Edward: AAAAHHHHH!!!

Edward screams out in agony as the explosion sends him flying into the air.

Tanjiro jumps up, slashing at Edward repeatly.

SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

Just as Tanjiro prepares to swing one more attack, Edward transmutes his hand into a sword, slicing right into Tanjiro.

SLASH!!!

Tanjiro: ARGHHHHH!!!

Edward: Take this!

Edward then transmute his sword into a automail before opening fire onto him.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

Tanjiro grits his teeth, feeling his body getting riddled with holes as he crashes through a tree before crash landing into the ground.

CRASH!!!

Weakened by the attack, Tanjiro struggles to push himself up as Edward lands on the ground.

Creating a Transmutation circle, Edward declares out.

Edward: Alright, it's time to end this once and for all!

Edward summons several sharp boulders from the ground, erecting them out just as Tanjiro closes in, breathing in.

Tanjiro: Water Breathing Tenth Form: Constant Flux!

FWOOSH!!!

A giant water dragon visualizes over Tanjiro's sword as the young boy swings his blade outwards, shattering the rocks before closing in onto Edward.

Edward: What?!

Tanjiro: It ends now!

Tanjiro closes in as Edward moves back, swinging his leg out as Tanjiro dodges a kick before swinging his sword out, only for Edward to open fire at him.

BANG!!!

Tanjiro blocks the bullet and he swings his sword out only for Edward to jump up and clap his hands, transmuting a giant golem.

Looming over Tanjiro, Edward shifts the golem down in hopes of crushing the Demon Slayer. forcing Tanjiro to perform his Sun Breathing technique.

Fire bursts out as Tanjiro slices through the rock, only to notice that Edward is gone.

Sniffing the air in hopes of tracking his opponent's scent, Tanjiro wonders to himself.

Tanjiro: I wonder where he's gone.

Just then, Tanjiro caught Edward's scent as he turns, noticing the Fullmetal Alchemist drawing a Transmutation circle.

Edward then smirks as he claps his hand, completing the ritual just as he transmutes the entire area, creating dozens of pillars to surround Tanjiro.

Tanjiro widens his eyes in horror as his entire body is seemingly crushed underneath the rocks.

With his opponent seemingly defeated, Edward breathes out and he sighs.

Edward: Whew! I wonder who that kid is. He's pretty good for a shorty.

However, right at that moment, a massive explosion booms across the rocks, shocking Edward.

KABOOM!!!

Edward: What?!

Right at that moment, Tanjiro lunges out, his eyes narrows as he sees a visual string aiming right at Edward's neck, signalling him to attack.

Tanjiro: Got you!

Tanjiro lunges forward as Edward thrusts his hand out, attempting to transmute Tanjiro's sword in a last attempt only for Tanjiro to swing his sword out, slicing Edward's automail arm off.

Edward: ARGHHHHHH!!!

Blood spills from his wounds as Tanjiro shouts.

Tanjiro: Sun Breathing Twelfth Form: Flame Dance

Tanjiro then swings his sword out, the fire slices through Edward's body vertically before he swings his sword down horizontally.

SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

Tanjiro lands on the ground as Edward's body splits into three pieces before collapsing onto the ground.

As Edward felt his life force fading, he caught a glimpse of his opponent's face only to realise what he see on Tanjiro's face is not what he expected.

Tanjiro's expression is not that of joy, excitement or even contempt, instead it is one of sadness.

As the last of Edward's life force drains away, Tanjiro sighs out in sadness as he sheathes his sword, payiing respect to his opponent before running off to find Nezuko.

Megumi: You know, this is something I never see before, someone paying respect to their opponent.

Toomi: I agree. Now Edward knowledge of alchemy along with his Transmuting of the surrounding environment is enough to keep Tanjiro on his toes, with ways he could even end Tanjiro's life right there, he is however, unable to handle the Demon Slayer's strength.

Megumi: Rocks wouldn't do much against a Demon Slayer who can slice through them. Even if you want to counter that with that scene where Inosuke damages his sword with a rock, do note that the scene was done out of comedic purposes but doesn't one hundred percent means rocks can break them as Demon Slayers have been shown to be able to cut through demons and objects larger than them.

Sachi: In terms of speed, while Ed's ability to dodge bullets is impressive, Tanjiro scales to Zenitsu who can move faster than lightning, something much faster than bullets.

Toomi: Not only that but Tanjiro has gotten more involve in hand to hand combat, mostly fighting opponents through his swords and fists rather than relying on special powers like Alchemy which gives Tanjiro an advantage in hand to hand combat.

Sachi: And just to note that Edward being able to kill Homunculi is impressive, it is worth noting that not every Homunculi is as power as one might think, especially since humans like Sig and Alex who are normal humans are able to kill him by dealing continuous blows and Roy Mustang who is much weaker than Edward is able to kill Lust and Envy

Megumi: And in Demon Slayer, most demons can't be killed by conventional weapons so a Nichirin Blade is needed to bypass a demon's healing factor in order to kill them. And Upper Moon Demons have been shown to be strong enough to go toe to toe and even kill some of the Hashiras and those demons are weaker than Muzan himself.

Sachi: Except with the fact Tanjiro defeated Muzan.

Megumi: But what about the Philsopher Stone? Wouldn't that have ended Tanjiro's life right there?

Toomi: Potentially yes. While Kimblee's explosion, the one empowered by a Philosopher Stone has created a blast worth 157 kilotons of TNT, Tanjiro has scaled to Doma, who creates ice sculptures worth 321 tons of TNT, which is 164 tons of TNT more than the Kimblee's explosion

Sachi: And there is a factor of character to note. While using the Philosopher Stone may give Edward a winning chance, it requires a soul which Edward would be forced to draw from his own. Which only grants him a short power up limited to a short duration which would potentially end his own life as Tanjiro doesn't have that kind of limit.

Toomi: Precisely. And if we were to include Tanjiro's Demon Form which though did shorten his life span and make him weak against sunlight and wisteria plants, it wouldn't have given him that kind of limit as his healing factor and enhanced strength would also have ended Edward's life right there. So while Edward's alchemy and strategic thinking may give him the edge, we can conclude that Tanjiro's combat skills, endurance, overwhelming speed and better strength won out in the end.

Megumi: Looks like this is one breath-taking fight not worth alche-myssing.

Sachi: The winner is Tanjiro Kamado
