Avatar vs Fairy Tail, two girls cladded in blue with the ability to control water goes out in a splashingly wet battle

Toomi: Water, the very substance that brings life to all on the planet, especially when a huge percentage of every life form is made out of it.

Megumi: And these two girls can literally control it around them

Toomi: Like Katara, the only Waterbender in the Southern Water Tribe,

Megumi: And Juvia Lockster, Fairy Tail's Water Mage. She's Sachi-san, Toomi-san and I'm Megumi-san

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armour and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle

Katara waterbends into What if Battles

<Cue: Shower by Becky G>

Toomi: Born as the sole Waterbender of the Southern Water Tribe, Katara lived a pretty much normal childhood with her father, mother and brother

Megumi: Wait, hold on. If this is a Water Tribe, why is Katara the only Waterbender around?

Sachi: According to Hama, who is also a Southern Waterbender, there used to be many Waterbenders around until the Fire Nation invades, killing off all but one of them.

Toomi: But regardless, Katara was living a happy life until the Fire Nation invaded her village, determined to exterminate every last Waterbender alive

Megumi: Not wanting her daughter to be made a target, Katara's mother did something all mothers do, sacrifice herself for her sake.

Sachi: After the invasion, many of the men left the village to join the war, leaving Katara and her brother Sokka to be the heads of the village, so they'd often be the ones going out spearing fish and the like. Unfortunately, being the sole waterbender in the tribe didn't exactly do her many favours, as she never got any proper training for it.

<Shows footages of Katara attempting to lift up water, only to get smacked in the head by it.>

Megumi: But what do ya know, one day while fishing Katara and Sokka came across an iceberg which just so happened to be holding the new Avatar who hadn't been seen for 100 years in it, Aang. After saving him, and then helping him get away from a fire prince obsessed with honour, Katara joined him and her brother on a quest to make Aang a real-deal avatar. And she picked up a few tricks along the way herself.

Toomi: After receiving proper training from Master Pakku, who turned out to be her Grandfather, Katara then went on to the Earth Kingdom where she had an edgy but friendly relationship with Toph and the group made it to Ba Sing Se

Megumi: But of course, the team was also hunted down by Azula and her friends who succeeded in capturing the city,

Sachi: During her time on the run, Katara assumed the identity of the Painted Lady and she defeated a bunch of Fire Nation soldiers. And she had a run in with the very man who killed her mother years ago.

Toomi: And during Sozin's comet, Katara teamed up with Zuko and she succeeded in taking down Azula, thus saving the world from the evil reign of the Fire Nation.

Megumi: Well, after the war, Katara couldn't really rest, especially when she has to deal with the union between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom, the helped Zuko find his mother, saved the Beifongs from a crumbling tunnel and helped take down Azula again before getting married with Aang and having three kids.

Toomi: While Katara was originally pretty sloppy with her waterbending, she managed to pick up a few techniques from scrolls and then some real training up at the North Pole after giving the resident master there a good run for his money.

Sachi: And as the series progresses, Katara's knowledge of Waterbending greatly improved, now having learned how to draw water from outside sources such as mud, sweat and even thin air itself.

Hama: But do you know you can even pull water out of thin air?

Toomi: But Katara can do more than just control water, with the training she went through, she can heal wounds, freeze water, create air bubbles to move underwater and even create tidal waves and whirlpools.

Megumi: But her greatest technique she learned is Bloodbending.

Toomi: Using the water deep within the body, Bloodbending is basically controlling the movements of the host by shifting the water inside the person, controlling them like a puppet.

Sachi: Although Katara refuses to use such techniques due to how immoral it is, Hama ended up tricking her by forcing her to use it on her in order to save Sokka and Aang. And went Katara and Zuko were hunting down Yon Rha, Katara used Bloodbending as a mean of torture and interrogation.

Megumi: But in the end, she even ended up declaring Bloodbending to be illegal.

Toomi: Regardless to say, Katara's Waterbending skills has improved throughout the years, being able to teach herself basic Waterbending techniques and then progresses even faster than many of the male Waterbenders in the Northern Water Tribe.

Sachi: Katara is also capable of creating massive tidal waves to destroy Fire Nation ships and even defeated a serpent by using a whirlpool to pull the monster under.

Megumi: Did I mention that Katara can even use her own sweat to create a water knife sharp enough to cut through wooden bars as well?

Toomi: Even though she was inexperienced, Katara was somehow able to put up a fight against a more experienced Master Pakku and even defeated Mai, Zuko, Azula and Hama in combat

Toomi: While Katara is indeed a skilled Waterbender, she used to have problem mastering it, possessing nothing but amateurish skills during the events of Season 1.

Sachi: And even though Katara managed to hold her own against Pakku, she still ended up losing, obviously outmatched against the master

Megumi: And she's a crybaby as well.

Katara actress: Because it gave me so much hope!

<The actress began sobbing out, much to Katara's annoyance.>

Sachi: Well, she's not technically a crybaby although her crying scenes in the show was sometimes out of hand.

Possesses amateurish Waterbending skills at Season 1

Toomi: And despite not wanting to hurt others with Bloodbending, Katara has sometimes went against her own code, using her abilities to torture or even harm others, even going far enough to hurt an innocent man because she thought he killed her mother

Sachi: And Katara while skilled in Waterbending lacks completely in close combat skills.

Megumi: But even so, Katara will go all out to prove others how great of a Waterbender she is, and that's the truth!

Katara: Your technique is useless on me!

Juvia submerges into What if Battles

<Cue: Water Under the Bridge by Adele>

Toomi: The Teru Teru Bozo. These small white dolls were said to stop the rain, clearing the sky and letting the sun shine. As such, making them became the regular hobby of a young blue-haired girl named Juvia Lockser.

Sachi: Yeah see, Juvia had this whole thing of being a water mage, but it'd constantly be raining whenever she was around. Throw in the dolls and everyone thought she was a complete freak, making her pretty emotionless due to loneliness. So like an emo, but she was all blue instead of black.

Toomi: Then one day, a man named Jose found Juvia and asked her to join his guild, Phantom Lord. There she became a powerful S-Class wizard and a member of its Element 4, who were all element-based mages. But after a run-in with Fairy Tail, Juvia met and fought their resident ice mage, Gray Fullbuster. And well...

Juvia: Things are all about to change! One taste of this potion and you'll finally be mine! Our two hearts will become as one. From this day forward, we will be sweethearts, forever!

Megumi: Yup. She wants to fuck him.

Toomi: Well that's certainly one way to put it. Anyways, Juvia fought Gray and lost, though after saving her from a fall and having a talk with her about his friends, the skies finally cleared, allowing Juvia to finally see the sun.

Megumi: And then when Phantom Lord broke up, she stalked him for a good number of episodes before finally joining Fairy Tail herself.

Sachi:  But after the battle of Tartarus, Fairy Tail disbanded and Juvia traveled with her beloved Gray Fullbuster to Amefurashi Village and resided there until Gray's disappearance due to him joining Avatar as a spy. 

Toomi: Heartbroken, she decided to stay at the village to wait for Gray, until Natsu's group arrived to find a sick Juvia.

Sachi: Cured by Wendy, she joined the battle against Avatar and reunited with Gray. After the event of Avatar, Juvia and other Fairy Tail members restored the guild.

Megumi: And if you guys ask, yes, at the end of the series, both she and Gray got together.

Toomi: Juvia is exceptionally skilled with her water magic, using specific spells for specific attacks. She can create blades of water that cut through rock and metals with the Water Slicer, use a whip-like weapon with the Water Cane and turn her body into a rapid spinning cyclone with the Water Jigsaw.

Megumi: She can even create water bubbles to help those to breathe under water and she can even turn her own physical body into water, rendering any attack of her useless.

Sachi:  Ever since her younger years, Juvia has had the ability to conjure rain, although she has no control over it, the rain appearing to merely be dictated by her emotional state.

Toomi: Right, and the only time she ever felt like that was...

Megumi: THAT BASTARD GRAY LEFT HER AT THEIR HOUSE ON HER OWN FOR MONTHS WITHOUT SAYING A FUCKING WORD ABOUT IT! But then he saved her ass and said sorry later on so it's cool now.

Sachi: Juvia's powers also come from her own emotions, further increasing as the more sadder or angrier she grows, which can allow her to completely overtake opponents she couldn't handle before. This is how she was able to defeat Meredy, Keyes and other foes in the past. Called Enhanced by Emotions.

Megumi: She also was given the opportunity to become and S-Class Wizard at Fairy Tail after less than a year of being there, managed to do pretty good in the Grand Magic Games, replacing Natsu when he couldn't make it, and fighting off a good number of Avatar's army.

Toomi: And for those who don't know. Juvia's body is not made of water, it's just a magic used to turn herself into water. It's a common misconception.

Megumi: But seriously. If her body was made of water, then Gray wouldn't have been able to grab Juvia's boobs or booty on accident. Just saying.

Megumi: Even then, Gray-senpai may not notice her much, but when she gets worked up don't bother running. You're already a goner.

Juvia: Now you've done it! You dare carry out that threat! You will never live to speak of it! 

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Sachi: Don't forget to vote, comment what you think of the fight.

Megumi: Yeah, but right now, it's time for a Death Battle!

Fight

Southern Water Tribe, night of the Full Moon

In the cold frozen tundra of the Southern Water Tribe, Katara sat on the snowy floor, slowly waving her hands over the water.

SLOSH!!!

Katara waves her hands the dirty cloth, washing away the dirt with the water beneath her hands.

The Waterbender then holds up the cloth, twisting the cloth as a mean to squeeze the dirty murky liquid out of the cloth.

SLOSH!!!

Just as the droplets drips into the water, right at that exact moment, the cool calming waves of the ocean exploded in a massive splash.

SPLASH!!!

Katara: WHOAAAA!!!

Katara screams out in shock, falling backwards just as something lands in front of her.

Thud!

Katara looks up, finding herself staring into the angry eyes of a tall woman cladded in a blue hat and a long blue dress exposing one of her legs.

The woman shouts at her.

Juvia: Who do you think you are?! Washing your filthy clothes over me! 

Katara: Geez, calm down will ya lady!

Katara exclaims out, only succeeding in angering Juvia in further,

Juvia: Lady?! That's it! You're gonna pay for that!

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: Master of Tides by Lindsey Stirling>

SPLASH!!!

Juvia raises her hand up, lifting up several large waves of water before swinging her arms down, sending a massive torrent of water down onto Katara.

Katara swirls her body around, instantly grabbing the water with the motion of her hands before thrusting her arm out, sending the water back at Juvia.

Juvia puts her hands out, instantly causing the water to freeze into a wave of ice.

SHING!!!

However, Katara sprints forward, jumping up before thrusting her arm out, sending a torrent of shards right back at Juvia.

Snik! Snik! Snik! Snik! Snik!

SLOSH!!!

A blade construct made entirely out of water forms around Juvia's hand just as she swings it across, instantly shattering the shards with a single strike.

CLANG!!!

SLOSH!!!

Katara waves her hand up, pulling the water out of the snow before launching them right at Juvia, striking right into the Water Mage.

SPLASH!!!

Juvia: ARGHHHHH!!!

SHING!!!

Water freezes underneath Katara's legs just as the Waterbender surfs up across the waves, throwing several water bubbles right at Juvia.

Almost instantly, Juvia's entire body liquifies itself, jumping up into the water bubbles.

SPLASH!!!

Katara: Huh?!

Before Katara could even react, the water flies forward at supernatural speed, slowly freezing itself into a ball of ice before striking square into Katara's face.

WHAM!!!

Katara: AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Katara lets out a loud scream of agony just as she was sent crashing down into the water.

SPLASH!!!

Juvia stood on top of an ice fortress, staring down at the seemingly cool calming water.

Juvia: Heh! You should have known better than to strike at me like that!

However, right at that moment...

SPLASH!!!

Juvia: What?!

Juvia looks back, watching in horror as a massive whirlpool of water forms across the water, with Katara floating right in the middle of the rapids.

Katara: Thought you beat me? Sorry, it's gonna take more than that!

Katara thrusts her hand out, sending several torrent of water right towards Juvia.

SPLASH!!!

Juvia swerves around gracefully, easily dodging the water before thrusting her hand out, creating a shield made out of water, blocking the rest of the attack with it.

SLOSH!!!

Juvia then thrusts her hand out, sending a wave of water right at Katara.

However...

SPLASH!!!

Juvia: What?!

Juvia exclaims out in horror, watching just as Katara jumps right through the water, landing foot first on the ice platform.

Thud!

Katara spins around before thrusting her hand out, sending several shards of ice right at Juvia.

Snik! Snik! Snik! Snik!

SLOSH!!!

A long staff made of water forms within Juvia's hand just as the Water Mage spins the newly acquired weapon rapidly, deflecting the oncoming projectiles before throwing the staff right at Katara.

Katara raises her hand up, stopping  the staff with her hand before launching it back at Juvia, striking the Mage, square in the chest.

SHOK!!!

Juvia: ARGHHHHHH!!!

Juvia screams out just as she was sent crashing backfirst into the water.

CRASH!!!

Thud!

Katara lands foot first onto the ice, sprinting right towards Juvia.

However, Juvia puts her hands out, a pair of blades forming around her hands just as she ducks underneath Katara, slamming the blade right into her torso.

SHOK!!!

Katara: ARGHHHHH!!!

SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

Juvia cuts at her with her blades before thrusting her hand out, sending a torrent of water splashing right into Katara.

SPLASH!!!

Katara: WAAAHHHHHH!!!

Katara screams out in agony just as she was sent tumbling onto the floor.

With the surrounding puddle around her, Juvia liquifies her entire body massive, disappearing into the water before swimming towards Katara.

Katara pushes herself up, speaking out just as Juvia closes in onto her.

Katara: Big mistake!

SLOSH!!!

Juvia: What?!

Juvia exclaims out in horror, watching just as she felt her entire body lifting out of the puddle.

Juvia: Impossible! How are you doing this?

Katara: I can control all sources of water, in snow, ice, plants and even you!

BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!!

Katara slams Juvia's water body repeatly on the ground without relent, listening just as Juvia lets out a scream of agony.

Juvia: ARGHHHHH!!!

Katara then pulls her hand back, tugging Juvia's liquified body towards her before putting her hands together, causing the water temperature to decrease at an alarming rate.

SHING!!!

Just as Juvia's body in frozen over, Katara slams the ice onto the floor, instantly shattering it upon impact with the icy hard ground.

CLANG!!!

Katara: Hm! Piece of cake!

Katara said to herself just as she turns around, walking away.

However, the fight is still far from over.

Behind her, the water puddle slowly pools itself together, forming itself up, just as Katara continues to walk way.

SPLISH!!! SPLISH!!!

Juvia: You...

Upon hearing the voice, Katara instantly froze in her place, her eyes widens in horror just as she turns around.

Katara: What?! How are you still alive?!

Katara questions out in disbelief, only for her question to be shrug off be a threat.

Juvia: You dare control me as if I'm your vessel?! You dare strike at me and dare walk away. Foolish girl. You are in a deep ocean of pain!

SPLASH!!!

Katara widens her eyes in horror just as a massive torrent of water splashes over her body, instantly freezing her over.

SHING!!!

Juvia: Mwa ha ha! Now you're finish!

SLOSH!!!

A torrent of water flies out of the ocean, forming around Juvia's legs in the form of a cyclone.

SLOSH!!!

Several massive spheres of water forms around Juvia just as she rises up, looming over the frozen Katara.

Juvia: Die!

Juvia swings her hands down, sending the torrents of water down onto her opponent, creating a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

The ice castle slowly crumbles down just as Juvia lowers herself down, cackling out in malicious delight.

Juvia: Ah ha ha ha! Stupid girl. You're no match for me. 

However, the fight is not over yet.

Just as Juvia steps towards the ice, all of a sudden, Juvia felt her entire body froze in it's place.

Slurch!

Juvia: Hgn?!

Juvia grunts out, thrashing around as she struggles to move her frozen limp.

Then all of a sudden, she felt her arm swinging out as a surprisingly intense force before feeling her legs moving around in a swaying fashion, stepping towards the ice as if she was being possessed.

Juvia: W...what sorcery is this?!

Juvia questions out.

As if to answer her question, Juvia heard Katara's voice from beneath the smoke.

Katara: This...is bloodbending. 

Juvia: What?! Bloodbending?

Katara: Yes. In fact, I have complete control all over your body now.

Just as Katara steps towards Juvia, Katara speaks out.

Katara: I really don't want to do this to you but you've forced me. And now...

SLOSH!!!

Katara pulls her hand back, a small torrent of water pulling out of the ocean just as she steps closer to the Water Mage.

Katara: You're gonna pay.

SLOSH!!!

Katara thrusts her hand out, sending the water speeding towards Water Mage.

However, right at that moment, Juvia's body instantly disappears downwards, liquifying itself moments away from direct contact with Katara's water.

SLOSH!!!

Katara: Huh?!

Before Katara could even react, Juvia lunges out of the snow, striking right into her.

WHAM!!!

Katara: ARGHHHHHH!!!

Juvia then swirls her body over, wrapping it around Katara before lifting the Waterbender up, slamming her headfirst into the ground.

BAM!!!

Juvia looks back just as Katara thrusts out her hand, sending a wave of water right at her.

SPLASH!!!

Angered, Juvia raises up her hand, causing a massive wave of water to surge up from underneath.

SPLASH!!!

Katara felt the oxygen in lungs escaping as she drifts through the seemingly surfaceless water, struggling to breathe.

Katara looks up, watching just as Juvia dives towards her at supernatural speed, striking across her body repeatly.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Katara: AAAHHHHHH!!!

BOBBLE!!!

Air bubbles escapes from Katara's mouth just as she felt her consciousness slip, drifting down into the cold dark water.

SLOSH!!!

The water level began descending, decreasing just as Juvia stood feet first on the ground, holding up an unconscious Katara.

Juvia: I warned you girl.

KO!

<Cue: New Earth by Bruce Falconer>

Megumi: Holy shit! That was really wet!

Toomi: Surprisingly, this is really really far from a one-sided fight. Both Katara and Juvia possesses many abilities so similar to each other that they are able to counter everything that they throw at each other.

Sachi: Which brings up to some that does affect the verdict. Katara is able to Waterbend Juvia when she is in her waterbody and that's pretty much it. Katara is not only unable to Waterbend Juvia's solid body but she is also not able to seriously harm her with water.

Megumi: And that's where Bloodbending come in. Now I know some of you out there said Katara can Bloodbend Juvia, and you are right. But at the same time, Juvia's waterbody is completely made out of water, so yeah, good luck trying to Bloodbend a puddle of water.

Toomi: And while Katara does have her fair share of battles and victories, many of the opponents she faced do not come close to any of the ones Juvia has faced. I mean, Gray and Natsu who she has fought can literally cause town to city level damage, those that Azula and Zuko are not able to do at all.

Sachi: And Juvia is also a lot faster and stronger. Even with her intelligience, none of that really matters if Katara cannot really react against Juvia's superior speed and power.

Toomi: Not only that but Katara is still pretty much human. While fighting underwater is common for her, Katara herself cannot breathe underwater, which clearly proves she is no match against Juvia's Water Lock which can not only drown her, but has even held back Gray Fullbuster who is way a lot stronger than her. Push that power up to Juvia's current levels, where she could match attacks from Aquarius who's multi-city block level, and her power is well beyond that of Katara's.

Megumi: An ability your opponent could avoid and you wouldn't know when, that you hate using, that could only be used truly effectively when your opponent is severely weakened and they know how to take a massive beating, versus an ability where your opponent would have to overcome your greater power, where you could continue to beat them up while using it to prevent that, and said opponent's durability in comparison to your attacks aren't so hot in comparison to the vice versa. Man, this fight really blew us all out of water

Sachi: The winner is Juvia Lockser

Juvia: Juvia lives for the ones that she love! You've got to as well. If you have love in your life, then you must keep on living!
