Chapter 15 Dancing In The Dark

A/N: Bit of a time skip to Halloween so probably just a couple weeks from where the last chapter ended. I made the gif for this one. I'm so proud of it XD

Blaire

I finished wiping down the tables in O'Malleys and looked at my watch. I'd gotten up unreasonably early, to help Thomas set up the place for Halloween night, so I could be off to sit at home in my PJs and watch horror movies while eating candy. Halloween was my mothers favorite holiday and this was how we usually spent it, when we could. I was never a trick or treating type of kid. I was very much a homebody even as a small child.
"Looks like you're all done for the day Blaire." Thomas smiled.
"Wait a minute, why do I have to stay and work tonight?" Will asked.
"Because you didn't start working until 2. Blaire came in at 7 and helped me set up." Thomas chuckled.
"You woke up that early on a Saturday?" Will asked.
"Yup. If you need me I'll be elbow deep in gummy worms and watching slasher films...so in other words, don't need me." I smirked and took my apron off and hung it up.
"Thanks for letting me come in early Thomas." I said.
"You're welcome. Enjoy your night."
"Well this place is going to be packed tonight, who's taking over for Blaire?" Will asked.

"That would be me." I turned around and looked at a boy who was walking in. He approached us, and smiled and I realized, he wasn't exactly a boy. He had a bit of scruff on his jaw and he looked maybe 2 to 3 years older than Will and I. His blue eyes locked onto mine and he ran his hand through his sandy colored hair. He extended his hand to me and I hesitantly placed mine in his.
"Jacob O'Malley." He said and flashed his smile again. Cool it prince charming.
"Blaire...Nolan." I said.
"Pleasure to meet you Blaire." He winked. I pulled my hand away from his.
"Right." I said.
"Blaire, Jacob here is Katy's son." Thomas said. "He's going to work here part time with you and Will just to help out."
"Oh. Nice." I said eyeing Jacob who was still looking at me.
"Well.. Jacob, if you're filling in for me for the night, you're going to need to work on your sarcasm and your severe dislike for the human race." I said and smirked. Jacob chuckled.
"I think I can manage." He said and raised an eyebrow at me.
Will stepped between us.
"Right well you have fun Blaire, I'll just walk you out." He said and started leading me towards the door.

"Will what the hell?" I asked as we were outside.
"I don't know Blaire, something about that guy makes me nervous. Especially the way he looks at you. I know we're only ever going to be best friends Blaire so don't think It's jealousy. You're like a sister to me, and that guy just makes me uncomfortable. So...be careful okay?" He asked.
"Will.. he barely said two words. We literally just met the dude besides he's related to Thomas." I sighed.
Will shrugged.
"Just be careful Blaire."
"I mean you saw what I did to Peter's face, with little effort involved. I think I got it covered Will." I smirked.
"Peter's different. He doesn't hide the fact that he's scum behind a smile like that." Will said. It was clear, I was not changing his mind on Jacob.
"Okay. Well..I'm going to go home." I said. "See you at school Monday. Let me know how tonight turns out. I know Thomas is excited for the crowd tonight."
"I will. Have fun with your gummy worms and horror movies." Will chuckled.

----------------------------------------------------------------

When I walked through the door. There were black and orange balloons all over the floor. Ruby and Regina were setting up some decorations.
"Uh...What's going on here?" I asked. Last I knew, Emma was supposed to be going to a costume party at Regina's.
"Well, we were going to have the Party at Gina's, but her mom said we couldn't do it there." Emma said. "Dad said we could do it here instead." She shrugged.
Thanks Uncle David....
"Wonderful.." I sighed. I was really looking forward to the peace and quiet.
"Blaire, you're home." David smiled as he walked into the living room. "You were up before me this morning."

"Yeah Thomas had me come in early to help set up so I could have the night off.." I said looking around the living room.
"Cool, help us set up now." Emma said.
"Uh.. no I want no part of this." I said. "Not a party person."
At least not anymore.
"Oh. Well, you're welcome to come with Mary-Margaret and I to the station. We're doing a trunk or treat for the kids." David smiled.
"I have no idea what a trunk or treat is, and I don't do kids. I'm just going to watch scary movies in my room." I shrugged.
"Come on Blaire, you are totally welcome to party with us." Ruby said.
"How many people are coming?" I asked.
"Probably about 30 to 50." Emma shrugged.
"Yeah that's a negative Ghost Rider." I said and walked into the kitchen to arm myself with enough Candy to survive an apocalypse before retreating to my room. As I walked up the stairs I heard David lecturing Emma, about his rules. I chuckled to myself as the first one was No drinking. This man was living in a fantasy world, if he thought 30-50 teenagers were going to party without alcohol. Especially since he didn't know what I knew about his daughter.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I could barely hear my movie, over the blaring music coming from downstairs. Even Wilby, who loved everyone, was camped out in my room with me avoiding all the commotion downstairs.
"Wilby, if I hear monster mash one more time, I'm going to jump off the roof." I muttered and took a bite out of a gummy worm. Wilby just looked at me and tilted his head.
"Don't give me that shit." I said narrowing my eyes at him. "A few years ago, I would have been down there drinking with everyone else you know, and not in my room talking to a dumb dog. But..I know what they don't. High school Parties aren't as fun as they seem in the movies, because its not the movies. It's real life, and people get hurt." I swallowed thickly.

My phone started ringing beside me. I looked down at it and raised my eyebrow. It was Killian. I picked it up and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Is the Sheriff aware there's an entire high school at his house?" Killian asked.
"Well.. he's aware there was a party going on but he probably has no idea how much of a party it is. How do you know?" I asked.
"I'm on my upstairs balcony. I can hear the music..which is quite loud...and I'm pretty sure Graham Humbert just vomited in your Aunts flower bed. Hard to tell from here."
"Why are you standing on your balcony calling me? Why aren't you downstairs with your wife?" I asked.
"Milah's working late again." Killian said.
"I'm sure she is." I muttered under my breath.
"What was that?" Killian asked.
"Nothing." I said.
"Where are you in all of this chaos?" Killian asked.
"In my room. Talking to Wilby."
"Wilby?" Killian questioned. "Who's Wilby?" There was a hint of something in his tone....was that jealousy?
"Wilbys a dog." I said.
"Ah, the dog that ate your math homework."
"That would be the one. He's currently trying to eat my gummy worms." I grumbled and pushed Wilby away from my candy.

Someone opened my bedroom door.
I looked up and saw a drunk girl stumbling in.
"Oh.. this isn't the bathroom."
"Oh. My God.. get OUT!" I shouted and stood up storming to the door. pushing the girl out of my room and slamming the door. Locking it.
"Blaire? You okay?" Killian asked.
"No.." I sighed. "Theres drunk high schoolers all over the house and now they're invading my space."
"Well..you could come here if you wanted." Killian suggested.
"Uh..what?" I asked.
"Well I mean, its quiet. Theres no drunk high schoolers, and as far as I know, Captain does not eat gummy worms." Killian said. "You don't have to by any means. Just if you need some quiet.."
"You know the reason there are no drunk high schoolers over there, is because you're our teacher...right? I asked.
"I'm well aware." Killian chuckled. "Just know the offer is there."
"I'll keep it in mind." I said and grumbled at the sudden banging on my door. "I have to go. Talk to you later." I said and hung up.

I opened my door and sighed at Graham leaning against the frame.
"This isn't the bathroom." He mumbled.
"Why does everyone think my room is the bathroom?!" I grumbled and shut the door again.
"Wilby...I'm about to do something I shouldn't." I said and grabbed my jacket. I grabbed my bag of gummy worms and shoved them in my jacket pocket and put on my shoes. I looked in the door mirror. I was wearing my Mtv joggers, and an old T-shirt that read "This is my Costume" I shrugged and opened my door.
"Out Wilby." I said. Wilby whined and padded out of my room. I locked my bedroom door and shut it and started walking down the stairs. There were beer cans..everywhere, the living room was absolutely trashed and Emma and Neal were on the couch making out.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Your Dad is going to kill you when they get home. I never understood how someone could think they would get away with a party this size. My friend Kass was quite the party girl and even she wasn't stupid enough to try and pull this.
I sighed as I stepped over disposable cups and beer cans making my way to the door. No one would even know I left. I walked out of the house, where the front yard was not looking too great either. I was glad, I was not going to be here when Emma's parents got home.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Killian

"I don't know Captain, maybe it wasn't a good idea." I sighed. "I mean..she's right I'm her teacher for God sake and I'm inviting her to come over." Captain just blinked at me.
"But..it doesn't feel like that anymore. She's different than the rest of them. I talk to her.. And its just so easy. She makes it so easy and I know its wrong but I can't stop." I said and put my head in my hands.

My door bell rang and Captain bolted to the door excitedly. He loved trick or treaters. However, I had forgotten to buy candy for them.
"Back up Cap." I sighed and went to the door and opened it expecting to see some kids in costume, but on the other side of the door was Blaire.
"Trick or treat." She said with almost no expression.
"I'm sorry Wednesday Addams, I forgot to buy candy." I smirked. Blaire pulled a package of gummy worms out of her jacket pocket.
"I brought my own." She shrugged.
I chuckled and stepped aside to let her in.
"I didn't think you'd actually come over." I said.
"Oh? Why is that?" Blaire asked.

"Well... to be honest, out of the two of us, you seem to be the only one whos moral scale is not broken lately." I said and scratched behind my ear nervously.
"I Just left my cousin to fend for herself when her parents get home and see the disaster Storybrooke's football jerks made in their living room. My moral scale is fucked at best Jones." She said and cracked a smile. I couldn't help but smile back. There she stood, in sweatpants, and an old t-shirt, her hair that was usually straightened at school was wavy and frizzy, and there wasn't a bit of makeup on her face. I couldn't help but feel lucky to see the girl behind the purple lipstick.

Blaire sat down on the love seat and Captain jumped up beside her, startling her. She pet him awkwardly.
"I promise, He won't hurt you, he's just a moose." I chuckled. "He likes you." I smiled at Captain laying his head in her lap taking in all the attention. "Hes not used to someone else but me and Sebastian when he's over paying attention to him. Milah doesn't like him much."
"I mean.. I'm not much of a dog person, but I'm not hateful to them." Blaire shrugged. "I talk to Wilby all the time like he actually understands me, then again my only friend is Will Scarlet and David has a no boys in the bedroom rule." she added.
"Aye." I smirked. "Probably a good rule to have."
"Oh.. for Emma maybe.. He'd shit himself if she saw the dude she was seeing. He works at the Rabbit Hole. Me? I'm just completely uninterested at the moment. I have so much going on I don't really have time." She said.
"Don't tell me you still think boys have cooties." I joked.
"No.. just most boys are just that, boys and they only want one thing from me." Blaire said and looked at her hands and swallowed thickly.
"I..take it you have experience with that.." I said and sat down. I knew, someone had hurt her. I could tell by the look in her eyes the day she beat Peters face in on the cafeteria table.
"We don't have to talk about that.." She said and tucked her hair behind her ears looking up at me. I could tell the topic made her uncomfortable so I moved on.

"Have you heard anything about the situation with Peter and Wendy?" I asked.
"Actually, yes. David got with Wendy's parents, and they're opening an investigation on Peter. More girls are coming forward now that they feel safe to. Mills has no choice but to suspend him until the investigation is over and even then, Peter likely won't be allowed to come back to school because there's no If, he's guilty. He is guilty." Blaire said.
"That is excellent news. I know I was bloody tired of that little pest roaming the halls...and those girls feeling safe enough to come forward, that's because of you Blaire."
Blaire shrugged.
"I don't think so. I just beat the crap out of the guy. David's the one who opened the investigation."
"Because you beat the crap out of him." I said. "What about you? I heard his parents were thinking of pressing charges for what you did to his face."
"They were, but there was an agreement to drop the charges. Apparently, Peter's mother had no idea his father was letting all of this slide and once she realized what her son was up to it was her decision to drop the charges against me, but...I am required to go to therapy. Apparently I have anger issues." Blaire said and did air quotes when she said anger issues.
"David said I may have went a little too far. Maybe I did, but it got the job done." She added.
"I agree. I've been waiting for someone to knock his arse out for three years. If I do it, its illegal." I said and copied her air quotes when saying illegal." Blaire laughed, an actual laugh not the half hearted chuckle I usually got. I smiled.

When she noticed me smiling at her she bit her lip and stood up looking at all the artwork on the walls.
"These are beautiful paintings." She said. "They're all signed the same, you must really like the artist."
"Actually... I am the artist." I said. Blaire turned around and blinked at me.
"You..did all of these?" She asked.
"Aye. I used to paint a lot." I replied.
"Used to?" Blaire asked.
"I don't get around to it as much, kind of lost the spark a couple years ago." I shrugged.
"What about this?" Blaire asked and ran her hand over a sculpture.
"Oh, that is something Milah brought home... She's an art dealer. She had some big auction to go to tonight."

"Oh.." Blaire said and picked at her fingernail polish anxiously as she walked around admiring the paintings.
"You..seem to be quite the artist yourself." I said.
"Oh.. not like this." Blaire shook her head. "I'm not this level of good."
"You just have a different style. The comic pages I saw were brilliant Blaire." I smiled.
"Calliope wants me to put them in the art show in November... I haven't competed in a show in a while so I don't know."
"You have to!" I blurted out.
"Its just... its not finished.. With everything going on I haven't really had much of a spark either. I don't know if I'll have the comic finished by then." She sighed.
"It doesn't have to be finished to win Blaire." I smiled trying to encourage her.
"I'll think about it." She said and then smirked. "How about, you paint or draw me something and THEN I will submit my work to the art show in November."
"Oh, so thats how it is." I chuckled.
"Thats how it is." She nodded and shrugged. "Do we have a deal?"
"I suppose we do." I said.
"Shake on it." She said, extending her hand. I put my hand in hers sealing the deal. For whatever reason we stood there, looking at each other, neither of us willing to break the hand shake. She swallowed hard and pulled her hand away and quickly turned from me.

The doorbell rang and Blaire turned back to me with her eyes widened.
"You..expecting someone?" She asked.
"Before I called you, I ordered pizza. I didn't feel like cooking." I shrugged. "And I wanted to try that new pizza place on the other side of town turns out they deliver."
"O...O'Malleys?" She asked.
"That would be the one." I nodded.
"Oh.. My God. I have to hide." She panicked looking around as the doorbell rang again.
"Why do you have to hide?" I laughed.
"I work at O'Malleys!" she squeaked. "And so does Will, and he uses the bosses car to Deliver! If he sees me.."
I could feel the color draining from my face. That was indeed a situation I was not prepared for.
"Okay. shit.. Um.." I quickly pulled the curtains shut in the living room in case Will felt like looking in the window to see if I was home.
The doorbell ran again.
"Persistent isn't he?" I sighed.
"You have no idea." She mumbled.
"Okay. Thats a closet." I said and pointed to a closet door on the wall to the left of front door. "Hide in there. I'll let you know when to come out." I said.
Blaire bolted to the closet and opened it and closed herself in.

Killian. What are you doing? You have a student hiding in your bloody coat closet!
I opened the door.
"Hello Mr. Scarlet, I wasn't aware you had a job." I said.
"Well I do, and you don't make it easy when you don't answer the door." He said and raised an eyebrow.
"My apologies, I was a bit busy with something.." I said and he handed the pizza and the chicken wings I ordered to me. "Come in for a second and I'll get the money." I said and opened the door more and walked in setting the pizza on the coffee table.
"I didn't take you for a guy who liked gummy worms." Will said. I looked down at Blaires gummy worms on the coffee table next to the pizza.
"Oh, well you know what they say about books and covers." I shrugged and picked up my wallet off the kitchen counter.
"Whats your dog doing over there?" Will asked. I looked up at Captain pawing at the closet door and whining.
"You..got a body in there?" Will asked me with a completely serious facial expression.
"Uh.. no?" I said. Will laughed.
"Easy Jones, I was kidding" He said.
I chuckled nervously.
"Funny. SO.. how much do I owe you?" I asked.
"$16.50." Will said.
I looked through my wallet and handed him a 20. There was a big thump from in the closet.
Can.. you not please?
Will looked at the closet curiously and then looked at me.
"You know what, I forgot to give you a tip." I said and reached in my wallet and handed him another 20 just to get him to leave. "There you go lad."
Will raised his eyebrows.
"Well I'm sure you have other deliveries to do, so... I'll let you get to them." I said walking him to the door.
"Right, well thank you for the tip Mr. Jones." Will said.
"Aye your welcome lad. Happy Halloween stay safe. Avoid that mess over at the Nolan's."
"I planned on it." Will chuckled. "Poor Blaires probably sitting over there about to lose her shit."
I can assure you, she is not.
"I imagine." I said. "Good night Mr. Scarlet." I said and closed the door. I sighed and walked over to the closet door and pulled it open.
Blaire was rubbing the top of her head.
"What are you doing in there bloody dancing?" I asked.
"No, one of your ginormous books fell and hit me in the head." She grumbled and looked down at her phone and then giggled.
"What?" I asked.
"Will sent me a text." She said and showed me her phone.
"Have you ever noticed how weird Mr. Jones is? I just delivered a pizza to him. 99 percent sure he's killed someone." I read out loud.
"Thanks Scarlet." I sighed. "Is your head okay?" I asked and before she had time to answer I was moving her hair on the top of her head to make sure she wasn't bleeding or anything. I had some heavy books on that shelf in there.

"If you haven't noticed I'm pretty hard headed." Blaire said.
"Oh, I've noticed." I smirked.
She scoffed and pushed me away from her. "What kind of pizza did you get?" She asked.
"I'm a pretty basic guy when it comes to pizza, so its just pepperoni. You're more than welcome to some."
"I'm not a girl to turn down pizza. I'm very pizza motivated."
"Well maybe I should bring Pizza to class then." I smirked.
"I do just fine in your class thank you!" Blaire scoffed.
"You haven't seen your test grade from last week." I said. "Not your best work Nolan."
"Well.. besides that I do fine. I wouldn't be opposed to you bringing Pizza though." She shrugged and sat down. I walked to the kitchen to get some paper plates and walked back to the living room and smiled at Blaire holding a piece of pepperoni in front of Captain with a grin on her face as she watched him follow the pepperoni with his eyes. She threw the pepperoni in the air and he caught it in his mouth and sat waiting for her to do it again.
I chuckled and sat down handing her a plate. She took it and took a slice of pizza out of the box and put it on the plate.
"Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome." I smiled "Captain go lay down." I chuckled. Captain whined and went to lay down on his dog bed.

"So how did you manage to get the night off? I'm sure O'Malleys is busy tonight." I said.
"I went in early to help Thomas set up so I could have the night off. Emma was supposed to be at Gina's tonight for the party but her mom, for obvious reasons said no." Blaire sighed. "I was looking forward to being home alone, eating candy and watching scary movies but Emma kind of ruined that for me."
"Not much of a party person I take it."
"Nope. Well not anymore. I used to be." Blaire shrugged. "Well kind of. My friend Kass in oregon is a party girl, so I went with her all the time until I stopped.."
"What made you stop?" I asked.
"High school parties are just stupid." She shrugged again. I could tell there was way more to it than that but I didn't want to push. "Besides, halloween was my moms favorite holiday. We usually spent it eating our weight in candy and passing out on the couch to a scary movie marathon." She said. Her expression changed, as if she went to some other time, a happier time perhaps.

"Well..." I thought. "I don't have candy, but I do have pizza, and wings and I do like scary movies. I don't recommend you pass out on the couch though." I chuckled.
"You don't have to sit here and watch scary movies with me Killian." She said and took a bite of her pizza.
"I know I don't have to, I want to." I smiled and stood up and walked to my entertainment center. I knelt down and opened the sliding door where I had all of my movies. Blaire's mouth fell open and she put down the pizza and walked over to the entertainment center admiring my collection.
"Dude!" She practically shrieked. "This is awesome!"
"Aye. Many years of collecting. So pick out what you want to start with."
"We obviously have to start with Halloween." She said.
"Somehow I knew you'd say that. We can skip Season of The Witch." I chuckled.
"Well duh, that one sucked." She said and walked back to the couch and sat down waiting for me to put the movie in.
"Blaire Nolan I don't think I've seen you this excited over anything ever and its a movie you must have seen a thousand times." I chuckled.
"Its not just the movie..Honestly, sitting alone in my room trying to watch at home wasn't really putting me in a good place mentally. I'm just glad I don't have to do this alone." She said and gave me a half smile.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We were about half way through the second movie, Blaire had her shoes kicked off and was curled up on the couch using Captain as a pillow. She stretched her legs and they rested on my lap. That same content feeling I felt when we were up at Deadman's Peak, and when she had her arms around me on the back of my motorcycle washed over me. It was like this was how things were supposed to be.

My phone started ringing. Blaire looked up and looked at her legs on my lap and quickly moved them
"Uh.. I'm sorry." She said.
"Its fine." I said and looked down at my phone and sighed. "Its Milah."
"You should probably take that." Blaire said.
"Aye." I nodded. "Be right back." I said and walked into the kitchen and answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey.." Milah said.
"How did your auction thing go?" I asked.
"Great, I'm about to go to the after party, and I wanted to see if you wanted to come?"
"I don't think so Milah, I'm tired."
"Last time I didn't invite you, you threw a fit. Now you're tired?" Milah scoffed.
"Yes, Milah I am. Why do you even want me there anyways? You never have before. I'm not interested in being arm candy for you to show off to your friends when its convenient for you." I sighed.
"If thats how you feel, fine."
"When will you be strolling in this morning?" I sneered.
"Don't do that. I'm working Killian! This is all part of my job! You could have had this too but you decided to be a teacher instead and you don't even teach the subject you truly wanted to teach!" Milah hissed.
"Milah just tell me what time you're coming home so I can hang up." I said.
"Probably around 3. You know how these things go. Don't wait up."
"Don't worry, I won't." I said and hung up the phone and tossed it on the kitchen counter cursing under my breath. I ran my hands through my hair really feeling like I needed a drink.

"Are you okay?"
I turned around and saw Blaire leaning against the archway to the kitchen.
"Aye.." I sighed. "Sorry about that." Blaire walked into the kitchen looking around.
"Your kitchen is pretty." She said.
"Its a bit over the top I think." I said. "This whole house is but its what Milah wanted."
"What..did you want?" Blaire asked.
"A cozy cabin near the beach. Something less obnoxious." I shrugged. No one had really bothered to ask what I wanted. No one except for her.
"There has to be something about this house that you like." Blaire said. "Something more you."
"Aye. There is." I nodded. "Would you like to see it?" I asked.
"Sure." Blaire smiled.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Whoa.." Blaire said as we stepped down into the basement where I had my old art studio set up. I also had another tv with gaming systems set up and my very large record collection on a couple of shelves. It wasn't as over the top and fancy as the rest of the house but it was mine.
Blaire seemed fascinated by it all though. Her eyes widened at my record collection.
"Whoa." She said again.
I chuckled. "Its not as pretty as the rest of the house. Which.. I guess is why its down here and out of sight."
"This is amazing. screw the rest of the house." Blaire said. "You got something to play these on?" She asked.
"Of course I do." I said and nodded to the record player in the corner of the room. Blaires eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. Her eyes scanned the records on the shelf and she picked one and pulled it down. I chuckled.
"Springsteen?" I asked.
"Hell yeah Springsteen!" She said.
"As you wish." I smirked and took the record from her and walked over to the record player to put it on.

Blaire grinned as Dancing In The Dark started playing and then she did something I never thought I'd see. She started dancing around the room. It was silly, and she didn't have much rhythm, but it was beautiful at the same time because I believed one hundred percent that this was the actual Blaire Nolan, not the stoic scary girl she passed herself off as. This was her in her purest form and I knew that there weren't many people, if any she'd shown this side too and I couldn't help but just watch her strut around the room with the goofiest dance moves I've ever seen.

Blaire grabbed my hands and spun me around with her. I laughed and just gave in to the music and danced along with her. She stood back watching me dancing and laughed from her toes and it was such a beautiful sound.
"Oh, is that funny then?" I laughed and took her hand pulling her back to dance with me. I stepped back and stepped on one of Captains tennis balls and fell backwards bringing Blaire down on top of me as I fell.
Now the both of us were laughing and somewhere in the middle of it all, the laughing stopped, and we stayed in place staring into each other's eyes, both of our chests were heaving and my heart was thundering in my chest as our faces seemed to get closer and closer together until we were practically nose to nose.

You can't start a fire
Can't start a fire without a spark...

At the very last minute possible Blaire cleared her throat and pulled back she got off of me and stood up brushing herself off.
"Are you okay? You didn't hurt your back or anything did you?" She smirked trying to act like what almost happened, didn't almost happen.
"Are you calling me old Nolan?" I chuckled as I sat up. She just smiled and tilted her head watching me get up.
"Is it like.. Really hot in here?" She asked.
"Aye. Want to go stand on the balcony for a moment?" I asked.
"Sure." She nodded.

----------------------------------------------

It was chilly outside as Blaire and I leaned on the Balcony looking up at the big bright full moon. Blaires eyes drifted back down to the neighborhood and she sighed.
"My uncle just pulled into the driveway. Hopefully Emma has one hell of a story."
"What about you? What's your story for tonight?" I asked.
"I don't need one, I had nothing to do with that." She pointed towards her house.
"I mean about where you were tonight..." I said.
"OH.. uh well I'll just tell him I went to Wendy's or something. I don't know I think he'll be too busy ripping Emma a new one to care about where I've been." Blaire shrugged. Her phone pinged in her pocket. She pulled it out and looked at it.
"Or not.." She mumbled "Wherever you are, get home in the next five minutes." She read out loud. "He is not happy." She cringed.
"You should probably go." I said giving her a sad smile.
"Yeah.." She nodded.

We walked inside and down the stairs to the living room. Blaire put her shoes back on and pat Captain on the head.
"Bye Cap." She said and looked up at me.
"See you at school Monday." She said.
"I'll be there." I smirked. She chuckled and went to the front door. She turned around and looked at me again
"Bye." She said softly.
"Good night Blaire." I said, giving her a half smile as she opened the door and walked out.
I sighed and plopped down on the couch.
"Captain, I'm in trouble here." I mumbled.

Blaire

I couldn't believe what almost happened between Killian and I as I walked up the walkway to the house. I was partially glad that I pulled back in time, but also part of me wondered what would have happened if I just went with it. I sighed and opened the front door to the house and walked in to David, Mary-Margaret and Emma picking up the mess in the living room. David and Mary-Margaret were clearly upset. Emma didn't seem to be too happy either.
Sucks to suck Emma..
David turned to me as I closed the front door.
"Where were you when all of this was happening?" He asked.
"Anywhere but here." I said. "So..I'll just be upstairs."
"No, not so fast." David said. "Where were you? I want an actual answer."
"The party got a little much so I went on a walk. I had no part in this." I defended myself.
"That doesn't mean you're off the hook Blaire!" David said. "You knew what was happening, and you knew that it wasn't safe why didn't you call me?" He asked.
"Well.. I may not have wanted anything to do with it, but I'm also not a snitch." I said.
Emma tried to hold in a giggle. David turned his scary dad glare back to her and she turned away and kept cleaning.
"Give me your phone." David said turning back to me.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because you don't know how to use it. Hand it over." David said. I glared at Emma and handed David my phone.
"Both of you are grounded. Blaire, 2 weeks, Emma, you'll be lucky if its not until you graduate."
"Why the hell am I grounded?" I scoffed.
"Because you live under my roof and I am responsible for you too. Both of you upstairs. We'll talk more in the morning." David said.
I grumbled and walked up the stairs with Emma
"Way to go Princess." I said.
Emma rolled her eyes at me and I stopped as we got to our rooms.
"Neal leave in time?" I asked.
"Yeah. Thank God.. I don't think I'd still be alive if he didn't." Emma sighed.
"I'm surprised you're still alive now. He's pissed. He's even pissed at me and I didn't do shit."
"Welcome to the family Blaire." Emma smirked and walked into her room.

I sighed and walked into mine and sat down at my laptop and sent Killian an email letting him know not to text me because David had my phone. It was password protected but just in case he saw any messages on the lock screen I did NOT want to have to explain who KJ was. I opened facebook and typed in Killian Jones in the search bar and clicked on his profile. We weren't friends on facebook for obvious reasons but he had his profile public so I liked to look occasionally. I scrolled to his statuses and saw he had just posted one a few minutes ago. I couldn't help but smile, and I felt my heart flutter.

"Even if we're just dancing in the dark... "
