Chapter Eight

"Perfect, he's still so sound asleep. And he's a lot less stubborn than Harrison ever was." Gina smirked, watching it all unfold from the Lunar Cafe. "Very soon Gluttony shall rise again, and this time no one will be there to help Johnny boy."

Gina let out an evil laugh.

At George's house, the lead guitarist was currently in the middle of panicking when he opened the door. Paul was standing there, he looked completely freaked out as he ran indoors.

"Geo, John's gone off the bloody deep end! I could barely resist him! I think it's too late for him."

"I refuse to believe this! There has to be some way to get him out of Gluttony's hold! If we did it before, we can do it again!"

"But this clearly isn't the same curse that was put on you, we don't know what it will take to break John away from her." Paul said, close to crying.

George however was as stubborn as John once was, if it weren't for him Gluttony would have fully taken over. "I'll just have to find Gluttony herself, wherever she is!"

"What about Ringo? He could be fully possessed by now. We could have two vessels on our hands..." Pattie said, looking through a notebook. "I've managed to write down a list of all signs that someone is under the influence of a sin, as well as how powerful they can become."

"What do you have?"

"Whatever this new curse is, it's something that's not in any books. It seems more like she's creating human batteries to recharge her powers. That last defeat must have used up every ounce of energy she had. Either that or... This sounds crazy but she might be trying to make John into her own image."

"Wait, what!"

"Are you saying John will become the new sin of Gluttony?!"

"We can't tell if that's going to happen or not but if that's the case, we have to find Gluttony herself and deal with her before that happens."

"What about Ringo? Last I saw, he was taken away by that Sloth worshipper." Paul mumbled, massaging his stretched skin.

"We have to deal with two cults then, if we ignore one, It'll bite us a couple of chapters later meaning that... What I'm about to say is going to be difficult but we have to deal with both cults at the same time."

"But what if one group ends up overpowered by either cult we face off against? Wouldn't it be best for all of us to stick together for this?"

"Yes but hear me out, George can deal with Gluttony since he has experience with her while Paul deals with Sloth to reduce the risk of going on a rampage alongside John."

Paul couldn't help but notice there was something familiar about that Gina lady, was she just someone who likes seeing people eat? "If there's sins on earth there has to be virtues too, right?"

"I don't know, but the sun's setting fast and we can use this time to make a plan. We should also keep Paul out of the moonlight."

"Shouldn't we try and stop John then, he's the biggest threat out of the two cults, figuratively and literally." George added, massaging the back of his neck again. "He's got the spellbook, cursed to high heavens and won't listen to any of us!"

So it was settled, the youngest Beatle would go after John while Pattie and Paul went in search for their drummer. Of course the latter was no easy task since the old hut in the swamp seemed to have burnt down after their failed attempt to submit John to Sloth. Same with the fact that the moon was rising.

"We don't have much time, hopefully it won't be a full moon tonight or else Ringo is toast.."

"Mmmmm, toast, I see you're looking for someone too?" A different female voice purred.

"Ah! Who's there?!"

"I guess you don't recognize me Paul, I run the Lunar cafe."

"Gina? What are you doing all the way out here?" Paul stuttered, backing away from the burnt hut.

"Just trying to find a certain drummer, you're trying to find him, no?"

"Yeah...We are..."

The scrawny woman couldn't help but chuckle at how frightened the former cute Beatle was. "What are you so scared of? Do you think I'm gonna eat you?" She joked.

"No...we're scared of what you did to John, He's gone crazy for crying out loud!"

"To be honest, I didn't expect him to act like my mistress that much. I just applied an inhibition curse onto him. It should've just made him okay with his body not worshiping it like my mistress does." Gina admitted, her eyes showing a hint of fear.

Pattie had to hold Paul back. "If you made him like this I'm sure you can reverse it too! Why did you even join the Gluttony cult if you didn't mean to cause this much damage?"

"Well, he always seemed ashamed of how he looked. I was hoping Mistress Gluttony would give him a good confidence boost. I think he had a lot more repressions than I thought."

The bassist couldn't help but admit she had a point. "I guess he has always been insecure of how he looks, even down to saying his nose made him look ugly. Although the legions of fans and Cynthia would disagree."

"Can you help me?"

"What!?"

"Look, I understand if you're unwilling to help me but I just wanted to help my mistress, not create whatever John has become. I don't even think he's human anymore."

"With how the Sloth cult even considered him a demon, well fine. But in return you'll have to remove Paul's curses as well." Pattie said, handing Gina her notebook.

"Will do, hey where's your other band member?"

---

George meanwhile was out on the prowl, he knew John would be raiding every single food cart, restaurant and anywhere else that had something edible, even dumpsters to bulk himself up. Despite that, it still didn't show on the lupine human.

"Dear god, what the hell happened to John?" He muttered, he knew as soon as the clouds cover up the full moon, the guitarist will end up resembling a blob of jelly more than a human. "I have to get him inside somewhere so when he does change back, he won't be gawked by anyone."

The beast turned at the general direction of George, it's sharp brown eyes lacking any sort of humanity that defined the wereblubber. It growled a low deep growl, charging towards the lead guitarist. Not wanting to be cursed as well, George ducked down to avoid the Werehunger's sharp claws. The Werehunger growled again, picking a crumb of bread off the ground, way more than enough time for the human Beatle to grab some food.

"Hey John! Why have a crumb when I have a rich, warm chocolate croissant right in my hand!" George said, running as fast as he could to a warehouse, hoping that his cursed bandmate will give chase.

He did, rushing into the warehouse with ravonious glee, he was about to tear into it when the moon was covered, George watched the being transform back into the skinny man in the stretchy clothes that he was so used to. However, John now had small horns on his head and razor sharp teeth, his eyes were wide and manic.

George cursed his luck, he hoped that the transformation would be undone after the Werehunger ate the croissant. John smiled.

"How lucky, you get to witness my transformation out of this pitiful body." John said, eating the croissant without a hint of care of how much of a mess he made.

The change started subtly at first, his face softened up some more with a double chin forming. Then his gut surged outwards, tearing up his shirt until it was nothing more than tatters of cloth on the floor. George however could only watch as John changed, it was starting to go beyond the boundaries of humanity and into what George could only call demonhood, something that he was once in many years before.

At this point, he doubted that the rhythm guitarist was even there anymore. However, it was worth the shot.

"John? Are you still there?"

".... No, why do you call me that name? I'm not John, I'm Gluttony's dream. That's all."

The being that was once John laughed, he then prodded at himself again, causing the being's body to ripple and bounce, George could swear that the being looked like Gluttony for every moment that passed.

"But you're not Gluttony, you only think you are! What, do you think if you get big enough you'll somehow become her successor?"

"I don't know, it's working so far. Look upon me in awe!" the being said, a slight tear in his eye falling down.

---

Meanwhile, Paul, Pattie and Gina were looking around the ruined hut, Paul was currently in the moonlight, smiling that he didn't have to deal with being a Were Hunger again, however as he walked around he even found himself thanking Gina.

"Thank god you are helping us, but don't think I completely trust you still, this is your mess that we are trying to clean up here."

"Well, let's just say it would get ten times worse if Sloth finds his way out. Everyone considers him the most powerful of all sins as it's too easy for someone to succumb to a more lethargic behavior. I only cursed John so Sloth could be delayed. I didn't think he would target that drummer."

"But why Ringo? I mean I know he got really winded after chasing me to the Lunar Cafe but-wait.. I remember him saying he was in a coma for weeks in order to recover from appendicitis."

"That isn't Sloth though, that is probably defined as life and death!" Pattie retorted. "There doesn't seem to be any trace of him left anywhere either. He's either been taken over or dead."

A low booming yawn echoed in the swamp. It sounded familiar but Paul couldn't quite put his finger on why it was so.

"Thank you Wilson, I'm....Free."

A familiar pair of blue eyes watched on from the murky water, now glowing much brighter. "Now, I want to have a little word with my sister. Isn't that right Gina?"

Gina panicked, she turned heel to run, only stopped by a sudden wave of tiredness that blanketed the woman, she slumped onto the ground. If looks could kill, then Gina would've been dead the moment she looked up at Paul.

"Care to tell us, Gluttony, what the hell is going on?" The bassist demanded.
