Epilogue
The Harley zoomed through the countryside, the trees and grass lining the roads, bending in its' wake.
The sun was almost setting, and the dusky colours of the sky led the way upto the beaten roads.
The two riders on the bike were unfazed by the speed or the impeding darkness, as they raced towards their destination.
Soon, the powerful machine turned into a street lined by several cottages, till it turned into one of the driveways, which was now lit up by the lights at the gate.
Stopping in front of the beautiful, well lit cottage, the riders got off, taking off their helmets.
Smiling at each other, Treyton and Erisha took each other's hand, before walking up the steps.
'Welcome home, my children!'
KK came out to greet them, joy apparent on his face.
'Nanna!'
Erisha rushed over to give him a hug.
'The cottage looks wonderful! Even better than how I remember it!'
'Yes, well, you have to thank your husband for that!'
KK smiled fondly at Treyton, who also came forward to hug his mentor.
'I didn't do much, just gave the job to Laura..she's the best architect in town!'
Treyton brushed away the credit.
'Yes, but everything happened with your approval, hence you are responsible!'
KK repeated.
'Okay, but it looks great! She's done a great job!'
Treyton and Erisha had only just seen it today, not having had the time before.
As soon as the news of their marriage had hit the media, they..especially Treyton, had been bombarded by the press, reporters wanting to know all the details, even to as why the wedding had not been a grand affair, instead of a hush hush one. There had even been speculation of Erisha being pregnant, because of the intimate ceremony.
Erisha had had to hand it to her husband. He had faced all their queries with great aplomb, till the hype had settled.
Treyton had then hosted a huge reception, where all the media and the who's who had been invited, shutting down everyone's complaints.
And as soon as that had gotten over, Treyton had whisked Erisha off for their honeymoon to Maldives, on his private jet.
Erisha had been in awe of all the luxury and grand gestures, but Treyton's love and care had blown away all her awkwardness.
She was so happy, that sometimes she had to pinch herself to make herself believe it.
Nothing much changed on their work front, Treyton having no issues with her running her antique shop, so there was total bliss.
Erisha had let go of her rented apartment since KK had wanted to move back to the countryside.
Which was how the renovation of his cottage had come about.
Now, they toured the cottage, Erisha oohing and aahing at the tasteful decor and designing.
'This is just so beautiful, an ideal place to get away from the city..'
'Well, that is one of the reasons why I asked you to come..'
Curious, Erisha looked at Treyton, who shrugged, as clueless as her.
'And what is that reason, Nanna?'
In reply, KK picked up a file folder from a table, and handed it to her.
Erisha frowned, puzzled, before she opened the file to see.
As her eyes skimmed over the pages, sudden tears stung her eyes, and she began to weep.
Treyton looked at his wife with concern. He couldn't bear Erisha to be sad, and wondered what it was that had made her so upset.
He took the file from her hands, and scanned the pages.
'This is the deed to this house..in your name..'
That caused Erisha to bawl, and Treyton looked at KK. KK gestured for him to comfort his wife, and Treyton put an arm around her shoulders.
'Why is that a reason to cry?'
'I never really gave you a wedding gift, so I knew this was just the perfect one..'
KK became emotional, and Treyton motioned to Erisha to go to him.
She went crying in her grandfather's arms, and they both weeped away.
Treyton watched them both, and the love and affection he felt for the old man doubled in his heart.
'If you both don't have a problem, I want to live here till my last breath..'
KK requested.
'Nanna! Don't say that!'
Erisha cried louder.
'You are not going anywhere..'
'Okay, okay..but this house is now yours..'
'Well, this is a celebration of sorts, so no more crying people..'
Treyton went to Erisha, and she went in his arms, hugging him tightly.
He knew she was very emotional, and he loved being her never-ending support.
'Yes! I've prepared a special meal for you two..so, no more crying..'
KK wiped his tears.
'Come on! Let's go celebrate..'
Hand in hand, Erisha and Treyton followed KK, while KK made a joke to dispel the gloomy atmosphere.
Laughter replaced the tears, and echoed in the house, as they all went in..together forever..
The End
