Interview: TigerheartTheWarrior
Thank Mom for another interview. Lightning doesn't know what to put here. Hi.
----------------
1. What is your name? (you can skip this one if you are uncomfortable saying)
I go by Tiger on Wattpad, but my real name's Haydee
2. How would you describe yourself? (in three sentences or more)
I'm loud at rambunctious at times, sometimes I just want to sit and read by myself, but most times I need company or I start thinking too much. I absolutely love to write, and I could never survive if all the books in the world suddenly vanished. I'm chronically curious, but I'm also very insecure and if you say something about me - positive or negative - I'll always take it to heart.
3. What languages do you speak?
English is the only language I'm fluent in. I've taken a year each of Chinese and Japanese, but I can't remember a thing from either of them.
4. Have you ever been to a foreign country? Anywhere other then the one you would call home? If so, what are some interesting things you saw there?
I'm part of military family, so I've been to a few places. Italy was good, and Venice was just beautiful. The US is pretty, too. Yosemite and Texas were great fun to visit.
5. What is it that inspires you to write? Is it a person? A place? Anything!
I've been writing stories for years, though early on I had the imaginative properties of a teaspoon. I find my life unbearably boring, so it's great fun to send fictional characters on amazing adventures across various worlds. I suppose you could say it's my boredom that inspires me.
6. Why did you choose your username on here, does it represent you? Is there a story behind it?
I've had a lot of username conflict. I started out as EmberTheWerecat, because I love writing about werecreatures. from there, I read the Warriors series and became xXTigerheartXx. I decided that was too twelve-year-old-ish, so I looked for something a bit more mature. Oh, how about TigerheartTheWarrior?I came up with Tigerheart before Tawnypelt's son was introduced into the Warriors books, because I wanted a name that sounded strong. As I said before, I tend to suffer from insecurity, so I often need to tell myself that I'm strong, I'm beautiful, etc. I would have gone with Lionheart, but I have an infatuation with tigers, and thus, TigerheartTheWarrior was born.
7. How old were you when you took an interest in writing?
I must have been about six or seven when I started writing one of my first series', Super Puppy (As I said, imagination of a teaspoon).
8. What was the first story you wrote that you can remember? What was it about? Is it on Wattpad?
Possibly the very first I wrote was my story Zombies in All Directions, recently renamed to The End of Earth. It was about a zombie apocalypse, told from the perspective of sixteen-year-old Ebony Daemon. All my friends loved One Direction as I was writing it, so I decided to brutally murder all five members. It used to be up on Wattpad, but I took it down for revisions and plot changes.
9. Do you prefer to write your story on paper first? Or do you just go straight to the computer?
I have a big yellow notebook which is sacred to me, where I write important scenes from my stories, but I connect the scenes and complete the story on Wattpad.
10. How did you find Wattpad, and what about Wattpad is the reason you decided to stay once you found it?
I was looking for apps that would let me write stories on my iPod, and Wattpad showed up in all its orange glory. I checked it out and went, 'Wow, this is a huge step up from writing books where only I can read them!'I love Wattpad because it's unique. Seriously, I have found no other websites for writing stories online, and letting others read them. Once I found Wattpad, stayed because I loved getting feedback on my writing. It's great to be told what's awesome and what I need to improve. I also love how completely simple and easy Wattpad is to use. The buttons are all there in obvious places, and you don't have to click twenty different links just to work out how to publish a part.
11. What is your favorite book on Wattpad, what is it about this story that makes it your favorite, and why would you suggest this book to others?
Oh no, not this question. I'd say it'd have to be 'Teach Me To Be Gay' by @musically. It's written with a beautiful combination of fact and emotion that makes it appeal to both logos and pathos, and it's written using teenage language (not just swearing, but the words teens use: the slang, the dropped words) It just sounds like you're reading from the perspective of a teenage boy undergoing various problems and discoveries. It's also really, really well written. I think, if @musically tried to get it published, she could.
12. Who is your favorite author in all of Wattpad? What are some of their stories that you have read and what makes them your favorite?
I really don't have a favourite Wattpad author. If you held me at gunpoint, I couldn't tell you. There are so many amazing people out there, all so completely unique in their writing and personalities, that I just couldn't choose.
13. How did you find out about Warriors and what made you stick to the series?
I saw the covers in my school library and went 'Hey, look, a cat!' Immediately, I was hooked by the cats, their bravery and strength, and their ways of living. Love you, Bluestar!
14. What is your favorite scene from any of the books and why is it your favorite?
Ummm... Uhhh... Okay, I've got it. When Bluestar died in A Dangerous Path. I loved her bravery, how even in her final moments she was watching out for her clan. She gave her own life to save Fireheart's, because she knew he had a destiny that far surpassed her own. I loved the way I could feel Fireheart's grief, even though I was seeing it happen through a curtain of paper.
15. Who is your favorite character from Warriors (not a fan fiction) and why is that character your favorite?
I think Cinderpelt would have to be my favourite character. She's so much like me: stubborn, unruly, courageous, and persevering.
16. What would your warrior name be and why?
I would be Tigerheart because I think it's a name that suites me and helps define parts of who I am.
17. What inspired your fan-fiction(s)? Both from in the original series as well as from your everyday life.
I've always liked the thought of a forbiddden romance, so the tales of Bluestar and Oakheart, Lionblaze and Heathertail, and Dovewing and Tigerheart inspired me from the beginning. One day I just thought, 'Why not write my own forbidden romance?'
18. How many people that you know in person also read warriors?
Only one or two, actually. I guess my friends just don't really love cats as much as I do. Also, it helps that I have the maturity level of a twelve-year-old, so I fit in the target audience.
19. Has anyone you've known in person made fun of the fact that you read Warriors?
My best friend teases me good-naturedly, because she's reading books about quantum physics and I'm reading Dawn of the Clans. I tease her too, though, so it's only fair.
20. What is your favorite warriors fan fiction on Wattpad? Why is it your favorite and who is the author?
My favourite fan fiction would have to be Prophecy of the Setting Sun by @Tigerheart. I checked out his account looking for fan fictions, and that one caught my eye, partially because my fan fiction protagonist has the same name as his. It's well-written, with twists and turns and occasional loop-the-loops expertly slipped in, to make it a great read.
21. What are some other books that you read? (not from Wattpad)
Oh, let's see. The Legend trilogy by Marie Lu (I recommend it to everyone), The Infernal Devices & The Mortal Instruments by Cassie Clare, The Maze Runner series & The Mortaity Doctrine by James Dashner, Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy, The Hunger Games, Divergent series, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis, Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, Wereworld series by Curtis Jobling, and various other rollercoaster novels that I'd exceed the character limit if I tried to list them all.
22. What is something about you, that you think no one else would know about just by seeing you? Something that not many people know about. (not necessarily a secret, but something that just hasn't been brought up)
A big thing would be my sexuality. I'm openly bisexual, but it's something that isn't often brought up or asked about because you can't tell just from looking at me.
23. Are there any websites other then Wattpad that you use and would like to suggest to the rest of the Wattpad community? If its a website with accounts, what's your username on it?
Wattpad's definitely my main site. The only others I can think of are Minecraft (CatGoddess109) and Instagram (haydee_kittycat). It's kind of sad, but I'm happy with those three.
24. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?
a) My pool, because I miss it so badly right now. b) The Brazilian Amazon, because I love rainforests and... Wait no, not the Brazilian because they have Wandering Spiders. Um... A Tasmanian rainforest because Tasmania is just beautiful.
