Chapter 11- It Begins...
"Fetch reinforcements," Froststar ordered Appleshade. "Our clan is at stake and we need the rest of the clans to fight by our side or we will be heavily outnumbered."
Appleshade nodded and she quickly sped off towards RiverClan. Silvercloud followed her with Grassheart, while the other warriors began to get ready.
Froststar walked past the thorn barrier and saw Longdrop. The former ThunderClan warrior was snarling at Spikethorn.
"Longdrop!" she spat, unsheathing her claws.
"Frostkit," he taunted.
"This has to stop," she growled. "Your treachery must be stopped."
"Never!" Longdrop snarled. "Your clan will be destroyed, and soon, I will rise as the ruler of the whole forest!"
Froststar glared at him. There was no use reasoning with him anymore. "ThunderClan," she yowled. "Attack!"
As claws met teeth, screeches of anger followed them. Froststar was immediately pinned down by Longdrop who quickly bit down on one of her paws.
She yowled in pain and swiped at him with the uninjured paw. More rogues came and surrounded her, baring their teeth.
"I will kill her," Longdrop growled, taking a step forward.
He swiped, aiming for her throat with lightning fast speed. The blow hit Froststar and she fell down with a grunt.
Blood flowed out and formed a small pool near her. Froststar got up, still staggering from her open wound.
"You are weakened now!" Longdrop laughed. "With one blow, I can weaken you, and you can't do anything about that!"
But isn't my power is of strength? Froststar wondered. Wait, it could be something else maybe?
Before she could react, he knocked her towards a tree with a rough bark that grazed her pelt.
She collapsed, and tried to yowl for help. Her paws could hardly hold herself up and she couldn't even swipe a simple move.
"I will rip out your nine lives, Froststar," he growled in triumph. "Your clan will fall after that!"
"No," a different voice growled. To her surprise, it was Duskstar, with a battle patrol behind them. She had not expected ShadowClan to help.
"Well, an old leader can't defeat me!" Longdrop sneered. "Why don't you retire and die already?"
Duskstar pounced onto the rogue, clawing viciously on his head. Longdrop rised his paw and knocked the ShadowClan leader down.
"You are on your last life!" Owlheart, the deputy, yowled. "Stop!"
Longdrop grinned. "Perfect!" he laughed, raking his claws at the weakening leader. Duskstar stumbled, and fell onto the ground motionless.
"No!" Owlheart screeched. "I am not ready to be leader!"
"You will be," Duskstar managed to gasp out before closing his eyes. Froststar felt a pang of grief. ShadowClan could have chosen not to help ThunderClan, and now, their leader is dead.
"Why did you come to help us?" Froststar asked, guilt clawing at her belly.
"It was the warrior code," Owlheart replied, her voice rough from grief. Froststar still didn't understand.
"How do you know we need help?" she asked.
"Some ThunderClan kits decided to come to our territory," Littletail sighed. "Somehow, they managed to get past the Thunderpath without getting hit."
Froststar turned to the two kits, who was hiding behind a bush. "You know how dangerous it is!" she hissed, her voice sharper than intended.
"It was my idea," Stripekit confessed, facing her bravely with his amber eyes like his father's. "I felt that we need more help than RiverClan and WindClan, so I convinced Berrykit to come with me. Please don't punish her, punish me instead."
Froststar was shocked at how wise the young kit was and she just nodded. Behind her, Longdrop yawned.
"Are you done talking?" he complained. "Don't forget this is a battle." As soon as he finish speaking, he pounced straight at Froststar.
"Not so fast," a cat mewed, pouncing onto him. It was Greenstar, and Dovestar was following behind her.
"Stop this now!" Dovestar growled. "The clans have wanted peace for many moons, and why do you even want to attack us? You are a traitor, not only to ThunderClan, but ShadowClan, WindClan and RiverClan too."
"You took my brother," Berryclaw hissed, stepping forward threateningly. "You deserve to die, rogue."
"Give up now," Owlheart snarled. "You are outnumbered."
"Never again!" Longdrop hissed. "All the rogues, attack the clan cats now!"
The battle began, with the four clans fighting side by side. Froststar tackled Longdrop, who growled angrily.
They lunged at each other, raking their claws at anywhere their claws can reach. Froststar swiped swiftly and caught a hold of his tail, yanking it.
Longdrop yowled in pain and ripped his tail free. A thin trail of blood dripped from his tail but he sprung again, shoving her into a tree.
She winced as she felt the rough bark tore clumps of fur. Longdrop pushed her hard to the side, and she fell heavily. Her wounds were getting deep, and she already lost a lot of blood.
A rogue appeared behind her, sinking his teeth into her pelt. She yowled and tried to break free, but she was too weak to.
The rogue sink his teeth deeper into her pelt, and her eyes began to become hazy. Froststar managed to see Longdrop walking towards her, with his claws out.
"Prepare to die!" he snarled, raking both his paws down her pelt, and at the same time, sinking his teeth into her throat.
Her paws grew numb and she collapsed as they released her. She felt her eyes closing, and tried to keep it open. "You are tough to kill," Longdrop's voice hissed beside her. "Pity that you aren't on my side, you could have lived."
"No..." she rasped, feeling the life draining out of her body. Longdrop slammed his claws on her head and her world went black.

Froststar woke up to find herself at Fourtrees. For a moment, she felt the calm peace of the forest, but soon, she remembered that she was fighting at the entrance of the ThunderClan camp.
"Froststar, you have lost your first life," Flowerfeather mewed softly.
"Please send me back," she begged. "The battle must be won."
"Peace," she mewed calmly. "Your body needs time to recover." Impatience pricked her paws and she mewed, "Why don't StarClan help us?"
"Don't forget," this time it was Nightstar who spoke. "We watch over the clans, we do not rule over you."
"But surely the clans needs more assistance this time?" Froststar asked desperately.
"You were chosen for this," a she-cat that she didn't recognise spoke. "We have faith in you to save the clans, as you have faith in us."
"We believed in you," Oakblaze mewed. "From the moment you were borned, we knew that you are the one. The one to stop Longdrop's treachery, once and for all."
"Despite the fact that you lost the kin closest to you," Redripple, the she-cat she met at the battle moons ago, mewed. "You still have the courage, to overcome the obstacles in your path."
"You look at things from a different angle," Ravenkit purred. "You didn't see ShadowClan as a vicious clan, even when they attacked ThunderClan many times. You understand."
"Now you will use the gifts to help your clan, as leader. A true, gifted leader, whose experience came from your harsh beginnings of your life," a golden she-cat mewed solemnly. "Return to your clan now. It has always been your destiny, not any cat else's."
"We have faith in you..." Flowerfeather's voice fadded away as Froststar found herself back at near the ThunderClan camp.
~~~~
"Froststar!" Emberstorm's voice sounded beside her. "You are awake!" The ThunderClan leader got up, and saw that Longdrop was fighting with Patchheart.
"I'm fine," she mewed. "It's time to finish this."
Emberstorm nodded. "You are brave, I am proud to have you as my leader." She was touched by the loyalty from the former loner.
Froststar dipped her head and pounced onto Longdrop, knocking him off Patchheart, who was bleeding heavily.
"Froststar! You are okay!" Patchheart gasped. "I thought you were dead."
"I will not go down easily," Froststar mewed, glaring at Longdrop, who looked furious. "Bring it on."
Longdrop pounced, and Froststar found herself sidestepping instinctively. As he landed, she lashed out wih her front paws.
One of them caught his nose, and she tore his nose before he could react. Blood stained his paws as it dripped down from his nose.
He ignored the pain and swiped at her, fast. She dodged by ducking, and she aimed for his chest.
He blocked her from clawing him with a paw, and flung her off. Froststar was momentarily dazed but she jumped onto a tree.
"Coward!" Longdrop taunted.
She ignored his taunt and climbed higher. She balanced herself on a branch as old memories of Appleshade teaching her came back. Don't look down.
She silently hopped into another tree, noticing that Longdrop was unaware that she was exactly on top of him.
Froststar dropped down, crashing him that knocked the breath out of him. His claws almost hit her and she bit onto his throat as hard as she could.
Longdrop's struggles to break free became weaker and weaker until it finally stopped, his almost red eyes were now sightless.
She dropped him and when a rogue came to attack her, he stopped, staring at the dead body of his leader.
"Our leader is dead!" he yowled, running away.
The rogues fleed, leaderless and the clans chased them off with a roar of triumph. We have won, Froststar thought. We all have done it.
"The battle is over!" she yowled. StarClan have faith in us all along. With their help, we have succeeded. The warrior code had saved the clan. Not only it was a code of honour, but it is a code that binds all clans. We have united, and won.
