Redfur could not look at the gorge on MoonClan's territory without thinking of Bluepelt. The blue-gray she-cat had tried to breathe in clean air, but couldn't fight off the mist, even with Redfur trying to help.

Misteyes had just stood there, waiting until Bluepelt died. She didn't interfere with the frantic attempts Redfur had at saving Bluepelt, but she had caused Bluepelt's death with the mist.

Redfur didn't let Misteyes have the chance to kill another cat with the purple mist ever again. The ginger she-cat killed her in the gorge to stop her powers from working. All that was left of the battle was the memory of seeing it happen.

Redfur could still remember Bluepelt's coughing when the purple mist attacked her. She was clawing at the ground, trying to get away from it, but couldn't.

Her best friend had died in front of her at moonhigh. The fury that Redfur unleashed was so uncontrollable that she had killed Misteyes and sought vengeance on all of MoonClan.

After Redfur killed Misteyes, she brought Bluepelt's body back to StormClan and buried it the next sunrise. She held a long vigil for Bluepelt in the camp, then buried her, and went to IceClan.

Redfur wanted to find Coldspirit, the black-and-white kittypet whose kittypet name was Spirit, but was renamed Coldspirit due to his cold nature.
He agreed to help her get revenge on MoonClan because they had driven him out of their territory mercilessly, giving him scratches on his flank.

Coldspirit suggested that Blackheart could help them since her mother died from greencough because there wasn't enough for all of DarkClan. He said that Blackheart told him MoonClan stole the catmint by the gorge.

"Blackheart held a grudge against Eagletalon, the DarkClan medicine cat, because she thought he didn't collect enough catmint, but then she learned that MoonClan had a healthy leaf-bare at the Gathering. She grew suspicious of them and found out that they had stolen all of DarkClan's catmint." Coldspirit had told Redfur.

So the two warriors planned to travel with Blackheart to get revenge on MoonClan at the next Gathering. Coldspirit went back to his guard and Redfur went back to StormClan. All they had to do now was wait.
