"jaemin-ah, how's my donghyuck doing?" mark asked through the phone. he was asking how his boyfriend is doing, when clearly, he can see how he's doing fine.

it's been a while since mark has seen donghyuck, and with all honesty, he confesses that he's scared to see donghyuck. maybe the younger hates him? maybe he got tired of waiting.

"he's doing fine, mark-hyung... right now, he's currently playing with xiao mi and fei fei..." from the other line, he heard jaemin laugh. and from his vision, he saw fei fei jumped on donghyuck, making the later fall on his back.

mark let out a silent chuckle, not being obvious so that jaemin won't know that he's actually around.

"anyways, mark-hyung, when are you gonna visit hyuck? he misses you, like... a lot." jaemin said.

mark sighed, "really? but why is he not calling me?"

"he knows that you guys are busy. he really wants to call you, but he's stopping himself." jaemin sighed. "he's keeping himself busy, but sometimes, he'll shout 'i miss mark-hyung' out of the blue."

mark smiled, having the urge to step out of the van that was parked near nct dream's dorm. "okay screw this."

"huh? were you saying something, mark-hyung?" jaemin asked.

"i'm already walking towards your dorm. i'll hang up now, bye, jaemin-ah!"

"hyung—"

mark ended the call and started to walk towards the dorm. his pace started to become faster, until that walk became running.

he stood in front of the gate, panting. he was tired of running, but his tiredness went away the moment he saw his sunshine smiling and laughing while playing with the dogs.

he opened the gate, making everyone turn towards his direction.

"mark-hyung!!" they cheered upon seeing mark open the gate, but one member sat still, not looking at mark's direction. he was just playing with the dogs.

mark smiled softly at donghyuck who was pretending that he doesn't exist at all. he could clearly tell that this sulking boy misses him.

he quietly sat beside donghyuck, who was still busy ignoring him.

"hyuckie..." mark started, trying to get the younger's attention.

"aigoo, xiao mi-yah! why are you so cute! you too, fei fei! yah, why are you looking at your brother like that?" donghyuck cooed at the dogs he was holding. "can you understand korean though? i've been talking to you for the past hour and you don't seem to understand anything i'm saying."

mark frowned, donghyuck was giving the dogs attention, and ignoring him, who's the boyfriend? seeing mark frown made the other members do something.

chenle went in front of donghyuck and clapped his hands, "fei fei!!! come to chenle!!" he said in mandarin, and the dog seemed to understand, as he jumped in chenle's arms, and away from the sulking donghyuck.

"xiao mi!!! come here, i have treats!" the other dog didn't hesitate to run towards renjun, who was holdig the dog's favorite treat.

the other members went inside the dorm for a while, leaving mark and donghyuck who were seated on the elevated steps in front of the door.

"donghyuckie—" the moment mark mentioned his name, the younger immediately englufed him in a tight hug, causing them to fall back.

"mark-hyung!!" the younger chimed. mark just laughed at his boyfriend's childish reaction. he pulled from the hug and helped donghyuck sit back up.

for a moment, he thought that the younger was totally mad at him.

"wanna go somewhere, baby?" mark asked, helping the other to stand up.

donghyuck raised a brow, "where?"

"let's just enjoy our time together, hm?" mark smiled at him.

that's how they found their way towards han river. the two were walking at the park beside the river.

mark was holding his hand, gently helping the younger to walk. donghyuck, on the other hand, could already walk without the use of crutches, but mark is still acting like he's deeply injured.

"hyung, i can already walk." the younger laughed at mark.

"and so? i don't want you to fracture any more bones that's why i'm helping you. besides, let me. i wasn't able to do this." he said as he helped the younger sat on a bench.

donghyuck sighed, "it's fine. you were busy anyways." he smiled at the older who sat beside him. he leaned his head on mark's shoulder and closed his eyes, only feeing the soft breeze that was blowing.

"how are you, love?" mark asked, putting his arm around the younger's shoulder. "what did you do when i was gone?"

"hmm..." the younger paused for a while and started to think. "all i did was sleep and cook for dream. i just kept myself busy, that's all." he sighed. "but there were times that i just want to be with you and run away from this world." he then intertwined his hand with the older's. "now that you're here, can we run away now, mark-hyung?" he looked at mark who was looking at him.

mark chuckled, "how can we do that? you can't even run."

the younger threw a face of disgust at the older. he scooted away and huffed, "why do you have to ruin every moment?"

mark wanted to pinch the younger's cheeks because he was being too cute for his liking. "i missed you." he blurted out all of a sudden.

donghyuck raised a brow, "don't act like you missed me because you didn't!" he crossed his arms, still sulking at mark. "don't even act like i crossed your mind because i never did—"

mark shut him up by kissing him on the lips. the older wrapped his arms around donghyuck, and donghyuck wrapped his arms around mark, making the kiss even deeper.

after a few seconds, mark was the one who pulled away. he made their foreheads touch each other. he looked at the younger and smiled, "you're always on my mind, baby. i always think about you no matter what i do."

"you did, mark-hyung?" the younger asked softly.

mark nodded, as he bumped their noses together. "you know, i have a question."

"what is it?" donghyuck asked, leaning his forehead on mark's shoulder, hands still intertwined.

"why won't you call me by our nicknames?" mark rasied a brow.

donghyuck chuckled, "that's all you're sulking about?" he asked. "i'm sorry, love." he smiled, feeling his heart warm at the nickname.

leaning his head on top of donghyuck's, mark smiled. "that's much better." he then pulled away, making donghyuck sit straight.

he knelt in front of the younger, his back facing donghyuck.

"what are you doing?" donghyuck asked.

mark patted his shoulder, gesturing donghyuck to climb on. "get on my shoulders and we'll go somewhere."

hesitating, donghyuck, wrapped his arms around mark's neck, his legs around the older's torso. "where are we going?"

"didn't you tell me that you want to run away?" mark asked, looking at the younger that was on his back. "since you can't run, i'll do all the running for you while you're on my back." he smiled.

the younger buried his face on mark's neck as he felt his cheeks heat up. "you know, you could be really cheesy sometimes."

"but seriously though, where are we going, love?" donghyuck asked once mark started walking.

"we're off to somewhere...
