*Trigger Warning*

"Mom, I'm so scared for Jess. She wasn't feeling well but we wanted to hang out.. I should have said something!"

"She was still sick?"

"Yes. I feel so bad. What if something bad happens to her?"

"She's gonna be okay, sweetheart. She's probably dehydrated."

"It has something to do with her period. She said she had her first one two months ago. Now all this weird stuff is happening."

"Weird stuff?"

"Yeah like her boobs hurt, she throws up all the time, and she cries.  A Lot!  But the fainting I don't understand."

"Sarah.. honey, has Jessica mentioned having a boyfriend?"

"What? No! Never. Why?"

"Just curious."

"We're twelve, mom."

"I know, I know.. Silly me."

"Can I go back there? She's all alone."

"She's getting some tests done. Her parents are almost here."

"They're not her parents."

"Bill and Suzanne are almost here."

Sarah sighs.

A few moments later Bill and Suzanne arrive.

The two immediately go back to be with Jessica.

"Sweet girl, what happened?" Suzanne puts on an act in front of the nurses.

Jessica doesn't respond.

"Darling, are you okay?"

"I don't know what's wrong with me." Jessica said in a sad tone.

"The doctor will be in in just a few minutes to discuss your results." The nurse says as a doctor walks in.

"Hello everyone." She smiles softly.

"Hello. Is Jessica okay? What happened?" Bill asks.

"Well um.. her results came back." She looked nervous, and that only made Jessica even more scared.

"And?" Suzanne asks.

"Jessica.. You're pregnant."

Jessica's face froze. Her body went numb. Never did she ever expect this.

"Pregnant?" Bill asks.

"Yes sir."

Suzanne looks down to Jessica and asks. "What have you been doing?"

"Nothing!"

"Obviously something, little girl!"

"I told you that man raped me! He touched me and you didn't believe me! WELL DO YOU BELIEVE ME NOW SUZANNE?! HUH?"

The nurse in the corner couldn't help her tears. She tried her very best to keep her composure, but seeing this young girl in front of her, it was impossible.

"Jessica, you were-"

"He attacked me! He said if I screamed he'd kill me!"

"Can we just have a moment, please?" Bill asks.

"No! No, I.. I have a question.."

"Yes Jessica?" Her doctor asks.

"I don't want this baby inside of me.. I was raped by a man at my school. He's a janitor and his name is Edwin.. I don't know his last name. But he did this. I didn't want it, I didn't want him to touch me!" Jessica cries. "Please.. Please take this baby out of me, I don't want it!" Jessica is now sobbing.

The doctors heart broke into a million pieces.

"Jessica.. I am so so sorry, but according to your blood work, and the date of your last period, you're around nine weeks. Give or take. In the state of Texas you are not allowed to have an abortion after six weeks pregnant."

Jessica felt like a thousand pounds sat on her chest.

"What? So.. I have to have this baby?"

"I am so so sorry. I wish I didn't have to tell you that."

"But I didn't know! I'm twelve! How was I supposed to know I was pregnant? I didn't ask for this."

"I know you didn't sweetheart."

"I can't have a baby. I'll die if I try."

"If you choose me to be your doctor, I will look after you and the baby. I will make you feel as comfortable as possible."

Jessica buries her face in her hands and sobs.

Suzanne even felt for Jessica in this moment. Jessica is just a child. This law that was recently enforced is completely unfair. How was Jessica to know under six weeks she was carrying a child? This little girl is just learning about her changing body. She took those tiny signs as period symptoms.

But now here she is. Twelve years old and pregnant. She'll have to give birth before her thirteenth birthday.

"I can give you three some time.  You are free to leave tonight, but I would like to check on the baby first, and give you a vaginal exam.  Since you say this man forced himself on you, I just want to make sure you're okay, that there are no tears or anything like that.  Have you been having any pain, Jessica?"

"Not lately.  It hurt really bad for like two weeks but then kinda went away.  Is this gonna hurt?"

"You will feel some discomfort.  Just lay back and try to relax as much as possible.  Don't tense up."

Jessica's bottom lip quivered and she laid back.

"I'll leave and give you privacy." Bill said.

"Yeah, I'll go with you."

"No!  Suzanne, please don't leave me." Jessica cries softly.

"Okay, I won't."

Jessica takes her hand in hers and lifts her legs in the stirrups.

"Deep breathes.."

Jessica feels something enter her and she arches her back. "OW!"

"Come on, you've had something a lot bigger in there obviously." Suzanne says.

The doctor looks at Suzanne before turning to Jessica. "I'm so sorry.  Take deep breathes and try to relax your muscles.  I'm going to go in one more time and lightly press on your tummy.  Alright?"

Jessica sniffles and nods her head.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes ma'am.."

"Good.  Yeah your uterus is just above your pubic bone.  The baby seems to be growing nicely but we'll take a look on the ultrasound in just a second."

"Please.. what can I do to make this go away." Jessica cries softly.

"There's nothing, sweetheart.  I am so sorry you're having to go through this."

Jessica lays her head back and continues crying. "I want to die."

Soon the exam was over and it was time to see the baby.  Jessica laid back with a sheet over her lower half, and the hospital gown lifted to reveal her stomach.

Jessica felt as though the life had been drained out of her. She couldn't believe this was happening.

"Alright Jessica.. This right here is your baby."

Jessica stared at the screen and felt absolutely nothing. This was His baby. This man put this child inside of her, and knowing that made Jessica feel dirty and sick.

Suzanne and Bill were silent. No one knew what to say.

Suddenly a thumping sound filled the room.

"What is that?" Jessica asked.

"That is the baby's heartbeat.  Sounds great!" The doctor gives Jessica a warm smile.

Jessica took a deep breath and laid her head back.  A single tear rolled down her cheek.  The baby's heartbeat is all she focused on.  How was there this tiny life inside of her?  How was it going to come out?  Jessica didn't think she had it in her to deliver a baby.  She was afraid for her life.

Jessica was released to go home after her ultrasound, and waiting outside was Sarah and her mother.

"There's Sarah. Please don't say anything about the baby you guys! Please. I'll tell her later."

"We won't." Bill says.

Sarah runs up to Jessica and hugs her tightly. "Jessica, I was so worried! Are you okay?"

"Yeah." Jessica smiles. "I was just dehydrated."

"That's what my mom thought! I'm so glad it's nothing serious."

Jessica smiles and tries holding back her tears.

"I have to go. I'll see you around."

"Oh.. okay. Rest up!"

Jessica nods her head and leaves.

Catherine puts her arm around her daughter and says, "I'm glad she's doing well."

"Something happened. She's being weird."

"She's had a long day, honey."

Sarah sighs. "Yeah. Maybe. But I think somethings wrong."

When Jessica and her foster parents got home there was pure silence.

"You guys.. I don't want to talk about this right now. I just need to go to bed."

"Are you keeping it? Because you're a child Jessica and you cannot raise a baby." Suzanne says.

"I said I don't want to talk about it!"

"Just let her go to bed, babe." Bill says.

"Thank you.

Goodnight.."

Jessica walks upstairs and lays down fully clothed. She stares up to the ceiling and tears began to fall. "I have to think of a way to do this myself.  I can't have this baby."

***This is currently going on in Texas, and it is disgusting! So many people here are celebrating the news, but I think of the girls like Jessica in this story. The children that have no idea they're pregnant or even get a symptom until it's too late. The children who are forced to go through childbirth. The children that will have life long problems knowing their abuser won in some twisted way.

We live in a cruel world. The people celebrating this news should be the first to rot in hell.
