A call from her work was enough to make Erza paranoid. She was even hysterical was she was told that she absolutely must go back to work. She had already been given weeks off so she can look after her girlfriend who was still in the hospital. Now they are asking her to come back to work, saying she had so many excuses that she was this close to being fired...and she couldn't risk that.
She also didn't want to leave Lucy alone in the house. Lucy is already injured to even move around. Plus, Erza doesn't want Lucy to be on her own yet, not with a childish mind her her early years.
Lucy's safety was her priority.
Erza sighed before picking up her phone and dialed a number and called it. After a few rings, the line was picked up, followed by a familiar face.
"Hey Erza. What sup?" A strained yet gilliant voice to which Erza was suspicious to.
"Mira. Work called, I need to go back or I'll be fired. I need you to come over and take care of Lucy for me."
"R-Right now? On a short notice? Fuck! Cana that hurt!" Mira complained on the phone.
"Hehe...but you like it don't you?" A voice to which Erza identify as Cana's.
"Not when I'm on the phone! Get ur face away from my legs right this instance!"
Erza facepalmed and sighed. Why are they like this? She mourned and was a little jealous. She wanted to touch Lucy...but she can't. Not the way things are right now.
"Aww...don't be a party pooper. Erza don't mind it does she? Or maybe she wants to join us?" Cana said in a low husky voice.
"Cana, shut your mouth!"
Erza sighed again before speaking. "I'm sorry for interrupting your fun time. But when you are ready just go to our house and look after Lucy. I'm leaving in an hour." She didnt wait for a reply, she immediately hung up and set the phone down.
Erza grumbled silently to herself as she walked back into her bedroom and sees Lucy sleeping peacefully. She smiled silently and stood at the doorframe and enjoyed the sight that was in front of her.
She wanted nothing else than to just stay here and watch over her blonde goddess. The woman that she loved very much.
"I love you Lucy..." Erza softly murmured before turning to get ready for her work that she must absolutely go to. Otherwise she would be fired. They were nice enough to give her almost two weeks off...seems like that are getting tired of her being off from work.
...
30 minutes later, Erza was fully dressed and ready to go to work. She still has another 30 minutes, so she walked into her bedroom and sees Lucy sitting up, stretching a little.
"Hey Lucy." Erza stopped herself before saying 'beautiful'.
"Hey." Lucy looked at the redhead and noticed how nice she looked. "Going somewhere?"
"Yeah. I have to go back to work." Erza frowned before moving forward to sit on the bed. "I called Mira, hopefully she'll come and take care of you."
"Mira?" Lucy tilted her head questioningly.
"The one with silver hair."
"Oh, okay."
"But...just in case she doesn't come, keep this phone with you at all cost and have a knife nearby to stab the intruders." Erza handed her a phone that was in her pocket, which was really Lucy's. And she'll have to fetch a knife for the blonde.
"A phone I can understand...but a knife?" Lucy silently sweatdropped.
"It's to protect you. You need it."
"Alright...."
"And don't open the door to any strangers, don't answer any phone calls unless it's from me or Mira. Don't go running around with sharp objects, unless it's to protect yourself. You may help yourself with food, but don't eat too much food, especially sweets. And -"
"Okay...I got it" Lucy interrupted as Erza wasn't going to stop her rant anytime soon.
Erza silently sighed and gently hugged Lucy into a warm embrace. "Be safe while I'm gone."
Lucy returned the embrace as best as she could with only one arm, as her other arm was broken. "Thanks."
After a moment or two, Erza pulled back and looked at Lucy, smiling.
Lucy leaned back and looked back at Erza, noticing her smile. "What?"
"I'm happy you're okay..." Erza quickly studied Lucy's features before standing up. "It's time for me to go."
"Alright." Lucy hated to be restrained to a bed because of her injuries.
Erza looked at the blonde one more time before walking to the door. "If you need anything, just call me."
"Ok." Lucy replied.
Lucy silently listened as the footsteps of the redhead disappeared, followed by a soft thud of a door closing.
The blonde sighed to herself and started looking around. "Not one minute had gone by, and I'm already bored."
Another minute or two, Lucy removed the blanket that covered her and moved to sit at the edge of the bed with her lags dangling.
The young girl never really looked at her injuries and soon see braces on her arm and leg. With a deep breath, Lucy grabbed the nightstand with her good arm and carefully stood up on her good leg.
After a moment of standing still and keeping all her wright on her good leg, the girl looked around to find anything that could be used as crutches.
She sooner spotted a nearby stick that she had no idea why it was there. But questions aside, the blonde carefully hopped toward the stick and quickly grabbed it before losing her balance.
Now having the stick in her possession, she tested and made herself comfortable to hop around with it and starting moving around.
First thing first...explore the house.
...
Lucy is honestly impressed by the size of the house. Despite having lived in a huge mansion, the house was pretty spacious and homey.
The blonde carefully moved around the house, looking at the shelves and looking at the contents of picture frames and fancy objects.
She focused her attention on the picture frames that showed her and Erza smiling to the camera. Lucy noted how their faces were close, and how intimate they were.
"Best friends?" Lucy voiced her opinions, trying to figure out the exact relationship she had with Erza. Erza was really vague in telling her what kind of friends they were.
The blonde moved to another frame. and saw a familiar figure. A smile soon evident on her face. Her mother's smile seemed so perfect as she looked at the camera while holding a baby, assumingly to be Lucy.
Lucy stared at the picture of her mother, adoring the motherly smile that she radiated. She tried to commit that smile to memory, so she won't forget it again.
...
"Mama! Papa!" A small petite blonde girl was running toward her parents with a big smile on her face, with a present she had made in her hands that she wanted to share.
Lucy's mother kneeled down and smiled at her daughter. "Hey sunshine. What you got there?"
Lucy stopped right in front of her mother and handed her a mud pie. Her hands and clothes were dirty as it had gotten dirty in the process of making the mud pie. "I made these for you Mama!"
The mother only chuckled and smiled. "That looks wonderful."
The father smiled and gently ruffled Lucy's hair. "You certainly outdid yourself."
Lucy smiled even more and handed the mudpie to the older man. "Here."
The man looked at the mudpie before chuckling and took the mudpie into his hands. "Messy...Thank you Lucy."
The wife chuckled and brought her daughter in for a hug, not even caring if she would get dirty or not. "I love you Lucy."
The small child squealed in delight and hugged her mother back and the utmost love. "I love you too mommy."
The father smiled before setting the mudpie down and wrapped his two muscular arms around his wife and his daughter and hugged them protectively. "You two are my life. I love you both very much."
...
Lucy smiled as she had recalled the memory of the motherly figure of her mother and father. "I love you mother..."
She then frowned as she remembered the sudden passing of her mother. The sudden death that had really shook her father. Lucy remembered that crying was all she can do as she watched her being laid to rest in the ground.
She was also crying for the fact that her father wouldn't console her. Her father merely ignored her.
This was the revelation to where Lucy knew things were going to be different. Where things would no longer be the same. Where Lucy had learned that she had also lost her father.
