Chapter 7
Papyrus flinched as the human dashed at him. To his surprise, the blow never came, all was silent untill... Plip, plip, plip... Sounds of something moist hitting the floor followed by grunts. "M-mwehe...hehhh... N-not this t-time, h-human.... Erk.... S-sorry Papy.... I couldn't b-bare... To see you.... H-hu-rt...." The owner of the voice wheezed as they slowly turned to dust. Papyrus looked at them, and went completely cold. "S-Sans?! NOOOOOO! NONONONONONONONO!!! SANS, PLEASE!" Papyrus held the dusting body tightly to his chest as he frantically begged over and over for him to come back. "P-Please!!!!" At this time, Chara otherwise known as the killer Frisk, had already made it to Snowdin where they looked for easy prey. "Oh residents of Snowdin... Where are yoooooou...."
As if in a blink of an eye, they were pinned to the floor, battering fists and claws scratching at their skin. "HOW COULD YOU?! HE WAS NOTHING BUT KIND AND HELPFUL! HE DID NOTHING TO DESERVE THAT, YOU UNGRATEDFUL BACKSTABBING DIRTY BROTHER KILLER!!!!" A few Gaster Blasters went off when the residence peeked into the scene. Mouths gapped as they saw the once laid-back monster cover himself in blood. A hint of Sans' blue scarf poked from the ridges of Papyrus' hoodie as he curled himself into the snow. Undyne gasped from behind her monitor screen as she silently cried for her friend's deceased brother and anime buddy.
The air felt grim that day... The day Snowdin lost one of its best. The day a skeleton lost his brother to a ruthless killer. After the incident, no one recalled seeing Papyrus leave or go into the house. Not even the piled-up letters had been burned during the casual mail routine. The mail stopped coming, the local bell stopped ringing, even the cheery atmosphere of Muffet's seemed out of place. That's when Alphys had had enough; she trudged through the snow and faced the Skelebro residents' door. She roughly knocked on it, not receiving an answer.
"Damn it, Papyrus.... Look, I know you're hurting.... He was the best there was. He was a rare gift to this world and-" the door burst open and Alphys was pinned to the wall. "You know NOTHING of Sans!!!! You don't know what he was actually like at home... He.... He was like the motherly type, always there to make sure you're doing what you need to, always t-there to make you h-happ-py... *hic* Always there t-to... S-Sans, w-whyyyyyy......" Alphys frowned, feeling the deep sorrow deep from her best friend's sibling. She grabbed Papyrus' arms softly, leading him to the couch. "Paps, Sans would've never wanted to see you upset, especially this bad."
Papyrus sobbed quietly as he struggled to stay calm, "I-I just... Don't g-get it..." Alphys went to rub Papyrus' back when he sat up. He rubbed his eyes, yawned and groaned, walking to the stairs. "I'll... Talk to you later..." Alphys watched the depressed skeleton untill he had disappeared behind the frame of his bedroom door. Her expression changed between anger and sadness as she hoped for Papyrus to be happy again. ".... Maybe.... I need to get to Undyne, and fast!" She ran out the door, slamming it and raced to the Laboratory. Papyrus, on the other hand, flinched and sat in the corner of his room. His heart had broken, solidified and broke again.
He was filled with Grief.
