[3] A Class with a Reaper

I then looked at Akio who was looking at the speaker with a confused gaze. What the hell? Who was that? As I tried to ask Akio, I then felt the girl beside me move as she groans for a bit and stared at me. Her hand twitched for a bit before she tries to stand up on her own, stumbling a bit on the process before falling on the floor once again.
"Where...am I?" she asked me as I stood up and helped her. She was shaking a bit so I still had to calm her down. She then took my hand before standing up, looking around the hallway and then stopped to look at us.
"Who are you people?" she looked each and every one of us before furrowing her eyebrows. Akio smiled and gave her his hand.
"My name's Akio. The girl beside me is Jun." I then waved a smiled at her. She then smiled back before looking at the twins. "Okay. So, who are they?"
Akio then looked back at the twins and introduced them, "The girl is Kitsame and the guy beside her is Musume, her brother."
Musume gives a nod as her sister, Kitsame, gave a smile and shook the girl's hand. The girl smiled before introducing herself.
"My name's Yuuki Hariku from Verindu Academy." I then nodded before looking at the vast hallway that became eerie all of a sudden. The temperature suddenly dropped and some floors were beginning to creak.
The hallway became dark and the only light we could get were from the candles that were lit outside the classrooms. Wait, that's strange. I remember myself going here at daylight. How the hell is it dark?
I then looked around before noticing Akio's worried look. He was looking at the end of the hallway behind me as he took the knife out of his long sleeves uniform. I followed his gaze and I almost screamed in terror.
At the end of the hallway was the lady from earlier, holding a bloody scissors on her hand. She was slowly walking towards us before she broke a sinister smile. Her grin was petrifying and her walk then became slow to fast. All of us looked at each other and nodded.
If the person behind the speaker told us to go to our respective classrooms, it's probably the best if we follow him. It's the only good chance we'll get to survive in this school anyway.
"Akio, lead the way." he quickly nodded before we all followed him, running. I could hear the lady screaming behind us as we ran faster, trying to outrun her.
As we got near the classroom, I could see that the door was opened. It seems that someone's already there. As we ran inside, the door slammed shut as it echoed throughout the room. Akio looked at Musume and saw that his sister were nowhere to be found.
"Where's Kitsame?" Akio asked as Musume looked back to see his sister missing. He looked around, trying to find her. Before we could even search around, we then heard someone banging the door before a familiar voice rang out.
"Musume!" I heard a girl yelling outside as I gasped. Oh no, Kitsame. Musume ran towards the door, trying to budge it open with his hand. He then pulled the door sideways as Akio tried to help him, pushing it from the other side. But I could see that it wasn't even moving an inch, like it was just stuck in there.
I then heard the lady screaming from the hallway as I heard a loud thud and a body being bashed repeatedly on the door. It wasn't really a sound that I could get used into. I could actually imagine her being thrown to the door as we all backed away slowly, scared as hell.
Even Musume backed away.
After a few minutes, it became silent. No one was screaming outside and the old lady's footsteps were gone. The only thing we could hear were us breathing deeply to catch our breath.
I could see the sad expression plastered on Musume's face as he walks to the door, putting his hand on it. He looked down, his bangs hiding his face.
"Kitsame..." Musume muttered as the door quickly opened. We then gasped and almost puked at the sight that was right outside our classroom door. There were blood on the walls and organs scattered in different places. Intestines, lungs, even the heart was severely ripped out. The only thing that was still in shape was Kitsame's head.
Her eye sockets were wide open but she had no eyeballs. It looked like it was harshly pulled out from its sockets. Her neck was still dripping some blood and you could see that the lady used her scissors to cut it out from her body.
I felt a hand covering my eyes before someone pulled me away from the hideous sight. I then took it off just to see Akio next to me, both of his hands were in his pockets. When he saw me looking at him, he didn't met my gaze. Instead, he looked away before I could even ask him about something.
Yuuki then approached me, putting a hand on my shoulder, "Jun, are you alright?"
I just nodded before looking back at Musume. He was there, kneeling in front of Kitsame's head. He was muttering a lot of inaudible things as Akio approached him and knelt beside his grieving figure. I couldn't even imagine what my reaction would be if I was on his position. It's really hard to lose a sibling.
Yuuki looked back at Musume before she looked down, a bit sad since she only met Kitsame ten minutes ago. Even I was depressed. I looked around the room to see a bunch of students feeling sorry for Musume. Some were looking at him and some were looking down to the ground.
"Jun?" I heard a guy asking me as I slowly blinked before looking at him. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a red leather jacket, had a brown shaggy hair and had a dimple on his left cheek. Of course, that didn't caught my attention. The only thing noticeable was that he looked a bit familiar.
"Do I know you?" I asked him as he blinked a few times before giving me a smile.
"My name's Taro Kirisagi. The one you almost killed back then, remember?" he asked as I quickly gasped and nodded. He was the one from the Martial Arts Club whom I almost pushed at the staircase back at my academy. Well, it wasn't a question why he remembered me.
"I-I can't believe that you were also chosen." he puts a hand behind his neck before he sweetly grinned at me. Before he could even answer, I heard Akio calling out my name.
He approached us before giving me a tap on the shoulder, "Sorry to ruin both of your reunion but I really need you to check your camera. ASAP."
I then nodded before muttering a sorry to Taro. He nodded as I left with Akio. I then opened my DSLR to see the same picture of the school but with a lot of students on different floors. The only disturbing thing was that Kitsame was there with a red X mark on her face.
And she was standing on the very same floor.
I looked at Akio as he looked around the room before staring back at me. He knew very well what was going on.
"This picture indicates who's dead and what floor we were in. It could help us know how many of us are left," he mumbled as he looked down, fixing his glasses. I sighed before nodding in agreement on what he had said. He was right. The picture could give us the clue on who's already dead.
But not how they die.
I then heard a loud shrieking sound from the speaker as we covered our ears from the frequency. God, that it is loud. It felt like my eardrums are going to explode. After a few seconds, someone spoke. It wasn't the same guy.
No. This time, it was a girl talking.
"Students and teachers, you may now start the game," she said as two hats suddenly appeared on the middle. Akio then approached it slowly before nodding. All of us then slowly walked towards it and saw a bunch of folded papers.
The girl then continued, "Ms. Fujimiya Kirisaki, please pick one folded paper on the left hat."
A teacher quickly stood up from one of the chairs as I looked at her. She had this cold look that gave us the chills. She was one of those teachers who's a bit of a terror for all of us. She then approached the table and picked up one folded paper from the hat.
We then heard someone laughing from the speakers as we shook in fear. This wasn't the regular laugh that we encounter everytime. It was terrifying. It was like a demon laughing at our misery.
"Let the games of hell begin," they said.
