The Caterbus was driving through the highway in Vermont as the Snack Pack are doing their everyday hobbies. Branch is arranging his supply of traps, DJ Suki is fixing a website for their band in her laptop, Biggie is feeding Mr. Dinkles, Guy Diamond is helping Satin and Chenille design some outfits, Fuzzbert is heating up food in the microwave, and Poppy noticed that Smidge and Rose are doing martial arts.
"Rose, Smidge, what are you guys doing?" Poppy asked when she saw them dueling.
"I'm teaching Rose self-defense because she doesn't want to be a damsel in distress like those girls of other groups, whom she calls lame." Smidge said.
"Yeah Poppy, those other girls are just lame when they cry for help for a guy to rescue them." Rose agreed.
"You guys sure want to be like the amazons of Themiscyra." Satin said.
"No damsel in distress roles for these two." Chenille nodded.
When the bus came to the town of Stowe, Vermont, where they were greeted by a pair of twins. A boy and a girl, both African Americans.
"Welcome to Vermont, I'm Larry and this is Marie." The male twin said.
"So, you're Larry and Marie Delvin, the twins whose parents booked us to perform at their wedding anniversary." Branch said.
"Yeah, we heard about you in your blog." Marie nodded.
"Yeah, DJ Suki does all the tech stuff for us." Poppy said.
"Can you take us to our home in the neighborhood?" Larry asked.
"Sure, just tell Cloud Dude the directions." She responded as the twins hopped in the bus.
After many days of driving, they arrived in front of a two-story house in the neighborhood, where Larry and Marie's parents are waving at them.
"Mom, dad, look who brought us home!!" Larry shouted.
"Laurent, Maureen, you came earlier." Their mother said. "And you brought the Snack Pack with you."
"They're the most unusual band we ever booked." The father added.
"We dress in Japanese street fashion, and yeah." Poppy said.
"You have been so tired from your travel kids." The twins' mother said as the rest of the Snack Pack came out of the caterbus with their instruments and their luggage. "Why don't you stay here till the party, it's on Wednesday."
"We'd love to." Branch nodded.
"Yeah!" Poppy agreed.
"I'll have the bus recharged and cleaned while you stay here." Cloud Dude said as he drove off with the caterbus.
That night, the Snack Pack are staying at the Delvins' home where they have dinner while Poppy and Mrs. Delvin are talking about the songs that they need to perform in the upcoming wedding anniversary party. Mr. Dinkles is chowing down his food near Biggie's seat. Little did they know is that someone is watching from afar.
"Your list of songs are so good, we can practice it till the wedding anniversary party." Poppy said.
"Thank you, youngsters." Mrs. Delvin said. "I hope it will turn out great because our photoshoot tomorrow will take place near the gold brook-covered bridge."
"But mom, the ghost of Emily Howe might attack you." Larry cried.
"G-g-g-g-ghosts?!" Cooper and Biggie cried.
"Yes, many people believe they encounter her at night but we believed she doesn't exist so we must not talk about her ghost being existent here, Larry." Mr. Delvin scolded.
"Emily Howe, who is she?" Poppy asked.
"Emily is a woman from the 1770s, who was either a jilted bride or an abandoned lover, but she committed suicide in that place." Larry said. "I heard from my friends that her ghost was haunting the place."
"Did they see the ghost for real?" Rose asked.
"Yeah, and they sent me the picture of her." He added as she showed them a picture of the ghost. It shows a ghostly image of a woman in a ragged, 1700s gown, disheveled hair, and glowy eyes.
"CRIPES." Cooper and Biggie cried. Mr. Dinkles barked at the picture but Biggie quieted him.
"I hope it doesn't ruin your photoshoot tomorrow." Poppy said.
"We heard the news about the first kidnapping, missing horses, and more kidnappings." Larry added. "I hope it doesn't ruin mom and dad's big day."
"We could help you out avoiding that ghost." Rose said.
"Thank you guys , you're always the best." Marie squealed.
"Okay everybody, let's go to bed after we clean up." Mrs. Delvin said after they finished eating.
"We can help you." Rose said.
On the next day, the Snack Pack and the Devlins took the family van to Gold Brook Covered Bridge for the photoshoot. A group of adults waved at them, unaware of a shadowy figure from afar.
"Hey Kenneth, Gina, Melvin, Farrah!" The adults called when the van drove in.
"Amelia, you're here!" The couple shouted as they got off the van.
"Wow, this must be the famous bridge." Poppy said. "It looks romantic."
"But chillingly haunted." Larry added.
"There are many versions to the story when I searched its legends, either an abandoned lover or a jilted bride." Branch said as he looked in his cellphone. "But both legends have one common ending, the girl named Emily Howe commits suicide because of a broken heart."
"When my friends came here, they saw her ghost in it." Larry continued.
"Is this true?" Biggie asked.
"Judging by the picture Larry shows us, it looks realistic, only if it's a hologram." Branch rolled his eyes in disbelief. "We can search around for clues while they prepare." Rose suggested.
The Snack Pack searched around the place for clues. They walked to places near the bridge until Rose saw a notebook nearby. She picked it up and read it.
"Is that a notebook?" Branch asked as he took a closer look at it while Rose read it. She later gave it to Branch for examination.
"Yeah, but there are stick-on notes with it and a sketch of a carriage." Rose said. "Someone must've been trying to destroy the bridge so that they can steal something that is hidden in this place."
"Do you think there is a treasure in this place?" Poppy asked.
"It said here that there is a valuable carriage buried underneath." Branch said as he examined the writing.
"A carriage from the 17th century." Biggie added.
Suddenly, they heard a yell. Cooper and Biggie, with Mr. Dinkles, ran back to the spot near the bridge and they saw the ghost of Emily Howe, flying in front of them.
"CRIPES!" The two screamed.
The two screamed so hard that they ran away, with the ghost following them. From one place to another, they kept on trying to evade Emily until it disappeared when the rest of the Snack Pack arrived.
"Holy Guacamole! What happened?" Branch was shocked.
Larry and Marie came out from their hiding place but there is no sign of their parents or the crew. They took out Cooper and Biggie, who are shivering in one corner.
"The ghost took our parents and their friends away." Larry cried.
"Emily's ghost?" Cooper and Biggie shivered. "We saw her, she looks tall, ugly, freaky, and........"
"She's wearing a wedding gown." Marie completed it. "I can see that."
"Okay, the ghost kidnapped their parents and the crew, and I bet this notebook can help us find the treasure that is hiding in this place." Rose said.
"A treasure?" Larry asked.
"Yeah, Branch is now reading it." Poppy responded.
"Guys, I think we found something scribbled in the notebook." Branch said. They looked at what Branch was reading, revealing something shocking.
"Oh Glitter!! Your dad's name is scribbled on it." Guy gasped.
"That is odd." DJ said. "It had pictures of Larry and Marie's dad with heart scribbles."
"Hold Your Wings! Someone was having a crush on your dad years ago and was rejected." Rose gasped.
"Dad told me that he had a lot of admirers but one of them is a..........what do you call that crazy admirer in Japanese?." Larry wondered.
"We call that type of people, a yandere." Chenille said.
"Hōseki!!!" Satin gasped too.
"Yeah, her name is Chloe. She tried to get my dad to love her in high school, she was a bratty stalker." Marie added. "But good thing he chose our mom."
"If your dad is her target, how come she kidnapped him?" Guy wondered.
"Maybe out of revenge." Satin guessed.
"Don't worry, we'll find them together." Poppy said.
They searched around the place for clues, and Guy tripped on a cord and fell into the bushes. There, Chenille noticed a piece of fabric with paint stains on it.
"Shinju! Look at this!" She said.
"Pedra Preciosa! It looks ghostly." Poppy gasped.
"Not really, the fabric is actually glowing in the dark because a special paint was used on it." Branch nodded.
"How did you know?" Biggie asked.
"If it's ghostly, it doesn't need to exist." He answered. "But this one is real."
"Yeah, it is." Guy agreed as he got up. "And you guys might see this."
He revealed a trail of glow in the dark footprints. The Snack Pack and the twins gasped at the sight of this.
"Sprinkles and Cupcakes! How did you find it?" DJ asked him.
"A coincidence with my danger-prone incident." He said.
"Let's follow that trail, we need to find out where it leads us to." Poppy said as they started following the tracks.
The Snack Pack followed the track together cautiously with Branch keeping them from falling in danger. They went down at the riverbank, where Guy noticed a cave within the rocks. They entered the cave and continuously followed the tracks until they found the parents and their friends tied up and gagged, along with other people.
"Mom, dad!" Larry cried.
The two rushed to their parents and set them free. Biggie and Cooper helped them untie the other hostages.
"What happened?" Larry asked.
"The ghost kidnapped us and tied us up here." His father cried. "She said something about the carriage and wants to flee on it with me."
"Don't worry, we'll get you all out." Branch said.
Suddenly, the ghost of Emily Howe appeared before them. Everybody escaped from the cave and back to the same spot they were about to have their photoshoot but the ghost appeared and chased them on a carriage with horses. Everybody scattered to evade it and avoid getting run over. Branch noticed the cord that Guy tripped on earlier and grabbed it.
"Branch, it's not the time to have a photoshoot." Poppy reprimanded him.
"I got a trap to make." Branch said.
"Just hurry, we can't distract Emily any longer." Guy gasped.
Everybody continued distracting the ghost while Branch perfected the trap. When it's ready, he used his powers to make a barrier but it only threw the carriage off its track. Rose threw something towards the carriage, hitting the wheel.
"Rose, where did you get the branch?" Poppy asked the dumbfounded Rose, who shrugged.
The branch that Rose threw into the carriage wheel, which got the carriage skidding and thrown into the mud. The ghost got off and tried to escape but he pulled the cords, releasing a trap that captured the ghost. The police arrived just in time when they heard what was happening near the bridge. Branch climbed into the carriage and took out something from it.
"If Emily is a ghost, then this is....." Poppy was interrupted again by Mr. Dinkles, who ripped off the mask, revealing an obese woman underneath it.
"Chloe!!" Gina cried. "I thought you were kidnapped?!"
"It all made perfect sense, she faked her kidnapping so that she can find the carriage, kidnap Larry and Marie's father, and run off with him." Rose said. "She was jilted because their dad married their mother instead of her."
"She used a corset to perfect her obese body and to fit into her disguise, which is painted with glow in the dark paint." Poppy added. "She uses the disguise to kidnap anyone who goes to the bridge so that she would force everybody to find the carriage while she steals the horses from an unnamed ranch."
"We found her notebook, which was her old high school journal, which has old photos of her crush." Branch said. "While we were away momentarily, she attacked the photoshoot and kidnapped the adults but the twins managed to escape. We followed the trail to her hiding place and found the hostages. After we captured Chloe, I found out that Larry's dad and the carriage aren't the only ones she was trying to take away with her."
He showed them an old box and opened it, revealing to have gold coins inside. Branch later gave the box to the police, who had it placed in a container.
"Whoa, that was the lost treasure in the 17th century." Larry gasped.
"The real Emily must've had it before she died." Marie added.
"I guess we not only solved a mystery, we also found the true story of Emily Howe." Poppy added.
"She was actually a jilted lover who was actually dressed in a bridal gown and stole her crush's riches." Marie joined in. "She tried to escape from the soldiers in a carriage but she fell from the bridge and died."
They looked at Chloe, who was taken from the trap and dragged away to the police car.
"Ugh! Foiled by those rainbow misfits!" She groaned as the door was shut and the police drove away.
"I guess she doesn't know how love hurts." Marie smirked.
"Like Emily Howe, she doesn't know that love is earned through treating people respectfully and giving them boundaries." Rose added.
"Now we have two reasons to celebrate." Poppy squealed. "The photo shoot may be ruined but we can celebrate with a party instead."
That night, a party was held for the anniversary of Larry and Marie's parents and everybody is invited, including their old high school friends. The Snack Pack played music for the party while Rose sang for them.
Been working so hard
I'm punching my card
Eight hours, for what?
Oh, tell me what I got
I gotten this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling
Or else I'll tear up this town
Tonight I gotta cut loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me up off my knees
Jack, get backC'mon, before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
You're playing so cool
Obeying every rule
Dig way down in your heart
You're burning, yearning for some
Somebody to tell you
That life ain't passing you by
I'm trying to tell you
It will if you don't even try
You can fly if you'd only cut loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Ooh-wee, Marie
Shake it, shake it for me
Whoa, MiloC'mon, c'mon let's go
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
Cut footloose
(Oh-oh-oh-oh) cut footloose
(Oh-oh-oh-oh) cut footloose
First, we got to turn you around
Second, you put your feet on the ground
Third, now take a hold of your soul
I'm turning it loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me up off my knees
Jack, get back
C'mon, before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose
Footloose, (Footloose), footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me up off my knees
Jack, get back
C'mon, before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut footloose
As everybody had fun in the party, they will never forget the day they discover the truth behind the legend of the covered bridge.
The song, Footloose is owned by Kenny Loggins and covered by Blake Shelton.
