Entry XXX- Hawk's World, Part Two
*The page has a large drawing at the bottom of a white mask with blue, swirling streaks and two eye holes. One hole is stained red. A few sentences have been scribbled out and made intelligible*
Hawk's World-
It is highly unusual that I should appear in the same world twice, especially within my estimated 50 year window. There's an infinite number of possible worlds for me to visit. It's strange that the odds would give another glimpse of this one.
I arrived in a very different location from my last trip. The lavish hallways and the stained glass windows were a giveaway, even if I didn't see the kingdom below. I appeared in a castle. It was definitely not ideal to be wandering around in. A guard may have labeled me as a trespasser. I pull open my bag and grab a smaller pouch inside. It's full of dried, crunchy leaves. <Œbß tæñ& üęvx êłåjk ftšį> I chew a few of the sour leaves before putting it away. I was free to examine the castle without being seen. Fac mecum ut invisibilia.
The first person I pass is a short servant woman. She doesn't see me. Her skin is frightfully pale, and I get the distinct feel that she is not human. My senses extend a bit at the surprise. Now I know why I arrived in this world; It's walls are dreadfully thin. The wall between other worlds and this continent in particular is very thin. I wouldn't be surprised if these thin walls have effected humans and changed their biology. I really *smudge* must do further study on Hawk's interesting world.
My interest leads me to the throne room. I would not have been able to open the door without being noticed, but one of the altered humans was just opening it when I slipped in after him. He really was an interesting evolution. With yellow hair and eyes, it's hard to notice the massive pair of feathered wings on his back. They're heavily muscled and colored a light tan. Caelum. The species name is a Caelum, spiritually close to the sky and the balance of nature. He must be in his late thirties or early forties.
Inside the throne room, an armed man of slightly older age is pacing back and forth. He has the same paleness as the servant. A Zemrlt, with bone armor along his ribs. A white mask covers his face with blue swirls along the sides. Only his eyes are showing.
"Azeal! Did you get to the scouts? Do they know where the rebels are?", the king, for that is who he is, uses a series of hand signals to speak. I can understand them after a few moments of watching.
"I'm sorry, nobody knows where the sorcerers are hiding", the Caelum, Azeal, answers grimly, "GoldenEye has sent troops, and Captain Lyssa is having them patrol near the castle with your own troops, King Don". I'm starting to understand. This king is facing a revolution. It must already be bad if troops from a foreign ally have arrived.
Before the two can say much more, the large doors are thrown open once again. The man that strides in looks young, but his eyes look older an crueler. He carries no weapon except for a wooden staff with a pulsing crystal on top. Some *smudge* ........ thing walks in behind him. It's just a black figure of a man. I can feel the wrongness all over it, and I actually stiffen up for fear it might sense my own immortality. The shadow is being controlled and used by the intruder.
"Don, get the guards!", Azeal is quick to defend his king. He blocks the way of the pair. With a nod from the *smudge* Summoner's head, the shadow attacks the Caelum. Azeal's eyes fade to black with his own magic, but it's nothing compared to the shadow's strength. King Don doesn't even take more then three steps before the shadow turns its attention to him.
I did more research to understand this event and record it. After all, I'm the only witness who would ever explain. The Summoner gained magic from the shadow creature he trapped, and made himself king. It's slightly frightening to know that beings in this world could do something similar to me. Perhaps, that is why I hope to never return.
