Getting a Guardian...and Something More-Megatron
After being shown around by Megatron you were a little...unsure of what to do. He had left you in the command room with Soundwave to watch over you. Something about investigating a recent energy source. You merely nodded with a smile and stood obediently on the throne chair arm, watching the sky.
But now, nearly half an hour later, you were seriously bored. You laid down with a huff, turning your head to look at the TIC still hard at work over at his station. Then you looked at the ground. You were guessing Megatron was somewhere between 30 and 40 feet, so when he sat, it was still about 15 to 20 feet above the ground. A little high to jump off without hurting a knee or an ankle.
You stood up and walked to the edge of the arm, looking down. There were engravings on the front, just as you had hoped for. Turning so your back was facing out, you grabbed the edge of the arm and slowly let yourself down, holding on as tight as you could. You looked to the engravings and slowly started to swing back and forth, which wasn't much of a distance considering your whole upper half was still against metal. You felt your foot hit the back and with all your strength kept your abs tight and stretched your legs until both feet were on the lip. Releasing your grip you swung forward, throwing yourself against it so you didn't fall to the ground. You looked down and smirked. The rest would be easy. You jumped to the side and slid down the decline, jumping to the other side when it came to a stop and sliding down again. When you reached the bottom of that side is was straight down. You took a breath and jumped, feet barely two inches from the metal. As the ground came closer you pushed forward so you wouldn't land flat and rolled to your feet. A smirk rested on your features and you brushed yourself off before turning-and looking straight into the visor of Soundwave.
You didn't really know what to do as he just silently stared at you. "Uh," you started awkwardly, "hey?"
He played a sped up version of you getting off the throne on his screen. When it ended a soundbar split the screen. "Impressive." He said. Of course, it wasn't really his voice, but a recording of Megatron's, but still.
You smiled. "Thank you."
He put a hand on the ground next to you and you stepped on. He raised you up to the desk he was working at and placed you next to the computer type machine. You watched as he quickly pulled up video footage of every room and hallway in the Nemesis. You watched for a while before you got bored again.
"Soundwave, can you put me down? I'm going to go see Knockout and Breakdown." You said.
He nodded and gently placed you on the ground. He scanned the trip to the Med Bay, probably to be sure that Starscream was nowhere to be found. He handed you a little remote like tool.
"What's this for?" You ask.
He motions to the door. That's right, they're activated when a Decepticon steps in front of it. But you're way too small and it wouldn't have budged an inch. You point the remote at it and click the little purple button. The door opens, and when you click it again, it shuts. You turn with a smile on your face.
"Thank you." You smile.
He nods and turns back to the desk. You walk out of the room, down the hall that you had just learned and to the door where you heard Knockout's loud, boisterous voice coming from. With a small smirk, an idea came into your head. You open the door and run in as soon as you can fit through, hiding behind the nearest object you can find. When the two Decepticons hear the noise, they look to see no one there. Shrugging, Knockout turns back around and Breakdown shifts his attention back to...whatever they were doing before.
You slink on silent feet towards the table right behind the one they're working on and peek out from behind the leg of it. The two are still oblivious to your prescence. Looking up, you notice a camera in the corner. You smile and wink towards it, knowing Soundwave would be watching. You turned your focus back to the leg of the table. There were small holes on the side where it must adjust up and down. Now to the Cybertronians they may be small, but for you they were about three and a half feet in diameter. The space between them was about the same length. You jumped up to the first hole which was about five feet up, and held on tight. With all your strength you pulled yourself up, swinging one leg up onto the lip and, while keeping one hand on the side of the leg for balance, stood up. You grabbed the edge of the next hole which was a much shorter distance and, albeit a bit ungracefully, hoisted yourself up.
At some point you heard their chatter stop and Knockout's clipped voice. "Yes Lord Megatron, of course. Don't worry. The med bay will be ready."
You repeated this four more times until the lip of the table was above your head. But there was a problem. It jutted out about two feet past your head. You sighed quietly. This was either going to work, or go really, really badly. Crouching, you angled yourself at about 10 o'clock, and looked straight up to where you needed to be. With a deep, somewhat ragged breath, you jumped with every ounce of corded muscled in your legs and threw your arms up. At the last second just before you started to fall your thrusted your arms up to the edge fo the table and clamped down with the hands of a rock climber. You gasped quietly as the rest of your body swung back with the momentum and you almost lost your grip. But you held on, and as you clenched your abs and stilled your body, you pulled yourself up to the top. A smile stretched across your face as you looked down, your muscles aching but in a good way. You were positioned behind a beaker of some sort, and once again looked past it to the two mechs focused on whatever it was they were doing. Both of them had their back to you. With a smirk you stood and gauged the distance between the two tables. Manageable. You placed your feet against one of Knockout's heavier metal tools and got into a sprinter's position. Three, two, one. You practically jumped forward, pumping your arms and keeping your head high, gaining speed. Your feet hit the ground relatively quietly and as you neared the edge, you pushed yourself even harder. At the very end you leaped off, your momentum carrying you all the way to the other table straight between the two mechs who jumped sky high and yelled in fright. You laughed as you landed ever so easily and sun to face them, hands on your hips. Your eyes widened and you laughed. Knockout had backed up against the other table and jumped on top of it, while Breakdown must have hit the edge and was on the ground. When they saw it was you they glared and sheepishly got back to their feet.
"Primus, I thought you were a scraplet." Knockout said with a shudder.
"So did I." Breakdown said shaking his helm.
You wiped a tear from the corner of your eye and smiled broadly up at them. "Nope! Just me. I was bored."
"Are you going to act like this every time you get bored?" Breakdown asked.
"Probably." You said with a fiendish grin.
Knockout sighed but looked at you with a smirk. "Megatron will be getting back soon, I suggest you hurry back. He'll be expecting you."
You smile. "Thanks! But do you think you could put me down. I've done enough climbing for one day."
Breakdown gently cups you in his hands and places you down, smiling a little. You grin back up at them and wave before running out. You close the door behind you and make your way over to the command room when you hear someone walking behind you. Turning, you see Starscream stop and gaze down at you. You glare up at his burning red eyes.
"So bold for someone I could so easily squash beneath my foot." He says maliciously, lifting his foot so one kick forwards would leave you with all your ribs broken, a destroyed backbone and most likely a crushed skull.
You stood tall. "I'm not scared of you." You said. Although inside, you were a little nervous. If this seeker was so foolish as to think of killing Megatron, killing you would be nothing. Like swatting a fly.
"Oh, you should be. You should be very scared Y/N." He sneered. He grabbed you tightly and brought you up to his face. Your face skin glowed red from his optics, but your eyes shined bright E/C. He held you tighter until the air was pushed from your lungs. He heard it as it exited your lips and smirked, but you did nothing but glare at him. No other sound was heard, no other movement was made. You felt the claws of his digits dig into your side, but you did not wince.
"Hmm." He said curiously. "I really shouldn't do anything yet. But perhaps I don't need to. A little 'accident' is no cause for alarm." He smirked.
He flattened his servo and you ended up laying face down on top of it. You lifted your head to glare but right as you did, his fingers splayed and you fell. Your eyes widened and as time slowed you felt yourself slip through. Feet, knees, hips, stomach, chest-that was enough. You growled in determination and grabbed his digit, spinning yourself up again and launching yourself for a better prepared landing. You hit the ground hard, your ankles giving out forcing you to roll, but you were prepared. You leaped to your feet despite the painful protests and glared up at the grey mech who looked shocked and frustrated. You snarled and turned from him walking through the doors, shutting them behind you. Soundwave was watching as you came in and, though you couldn't see his face, read his posture as shocked. He gently plucked you from the ground and allowed you to step onto the throne arm again. You took deep breaths to calm yourself and stared out at the clouds that were starting to turn pink with the setting sun.
The longer you gazed the calmer you became, and soon, it was like nothing had happened. As you took a seat a ground bridge opened up and in walked Megatron. He nodded to Soundwave and then quickly scanned the room before locking down on you. He walked forward and sat down next to you, leaning against the arm and staring down at your small form. A small smile rested on his face. "How was your first day on the Nemesis?" He asked.
"...eventful." You said, smiling back up at him.
Soundwave walked over and stood patiently to the side. The red eyes of Megatron shifted to the silent mech. "Yes Soundwave?"
A video of you sliding down the throne played on his visor, followed by one of you scaling the table. The last was you facing off against Starscream. A growl could be heard from the powerful gladiator at your side, and you glanced up to see his jaw clenched and eyes narrowed. You leaned against his arm and tilted your head to look up at him. Your curious position and sly grin made him smirk.
"Thank you Soundwave." He said. The mech nodded and retreated once more.
Looking back at you Megatron grinned. "Eventful is quite the word isn't it?"
You grinned up again. "I'd say it sums it up pretty well."
A low chuckle echos through the room and the leader lifts you up onto your shoulder. "Well I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. And that you outmatched Starscream. Very impressive."
"Thank you my lord." You say.
He lifts you carefully to his shoulder. "Let me show you something."
He walks out of the room and down the halls until he reaches a door. As it opens, you realize it leads to the outer deck. A gasp leaves you as you look around. The sky was stained like fire from the sunrise, levels upon levels of red, orange and yellow. Everywhere you looked glowed with color.
"I noticed your...interest with the sky earlier. I thought you might enjoy this." He says softly.
"Megatron, it's...amazing." You sigh.
He takes you off his shoulder and looks to you. "So long as someone aboard this ship knows, you can come here whenever you want. Consider this your own observatory of sorts."
And as soon as the word observatory leaves his lips, you look up to see billions of stars glowing through the parted clouds. It's so beautiful, it almost brings tears to your eyes. You look at the mighty leader in front of you. He did this for you. You smile, and feel a warm sensation in your chest. "Thank you."
He smiles and nods. You lean against his thumb and wrap your arms around it in a sort of hug, leaning your head against his metallic skin.
It's a good thing you were turned away when your tiny arms wrapped around his thumb, because he wasn't sure how he could explain the way his spark jumped in his chest or the smile that for the life of him he couldn't keep off his face. Your eyes that glowed like the fire of the clouds left him speechless. All he could do was nod when you thanked him. But it seemed like enough for you. The leader of the mighty Decepticons, always thinking of war and a way to defeat the Autobots, for some reason only Primus knew could only think of one thing. The tiny but brave human girl, wrapped around his thumb.
