CHAPTER 2 : Do You Remember Me?*
Italic = past memories
Florina's POV:
"What are we doing Flora?" Rose asked as we walked to a different dungeon just like the one my quarters was in.
"You will love it trust me," I was running excitedly as we got closer to our destination.
"Love what?" she huffed as she flew to keep up.
"You will see," I whispered enjoying her anticipation.
When we reached the broad stone corridor that was brightly lit with torches, I began to search for the giant silver bowl fruit painting. The wall was entirely decorated with cheerful paintings that were mainly with food.
"Aha! There it is!" I exclaimed triumphantly as I stood in front of the painting. I then tickled the green pear as it began to squirm and chuckle, but began to turn into a green door handle.
"It's a door," Rose said in realization.
"You bet! But wait there is more," I turned the handle and went inside the enormous room with a high ceiling and closed the door behind me. It was as large as the great hall with mounds of brass pots and pans heaped around the stone walls and a great brick fireplace at the other end. Rose went ahead of me completely awe-struck by the scene in front of her.
I nodded happily, "See! What did I tell you?"
Rose whirled around as slowly realization dawned on her, "So this is the..."
"Hogwarts's Kitchen...yes," I grinned as we continued to contemplate the area around us.
She turned to me anxious, "But Flora, are you sure we are supposed to be here?"
I shook my head in a don't-you-worry gesture, "Of course I am sure. I used to come here with Patrick and --" I immediately stopped not being able to go on.
She put a hand on my shoulder and whispered, "You know what to do," nudging me forward.
I nodded and started to think of what the healers told me until the pain of his absence went away. We finally arrived at the inside of the kitchen where hundreds of house elves were too busy cooking. They all noticed my presence and most of them came running to me with happy faces.
Rose, out of reflex, flew back a few steps thinking that they were going to be angry but rather they moved forward to show their happiness to see me.
"Wait! What? There are not going to kick us out," she whispered to me still looking stunned at the house elves.
"See! That's the best part. They love this job and will bring you whatever you ask for," I nodded at the happy faces all wanting to serve me.
One of the most joyful house elves I have ever seen took a step forward and bowed, "Miss, what can we get you?"
"Okay, listen boys I haven't eaten all day," I noticed how more eager they all became as I went on, "so bring me everything on today's menu."
"Yes miss, we will bring it all!" they said in unison and scattered around the kitchen to prepare the food.
After a while of clattering and banging, they brought me a chair and a coffee table. It was only but a moment until they put everything on the table in front me. Plates of roast beef, roast chicken, lamb chops, sausages, mashed potatoes, gravy and humbugs were laid before my hungry eyes.
I rolled up my sleeves and stared hungrily at the food, "Don't mind if I do."
I started by taking a small part of everything to decide which one I liked the best but that was impossible since I ended up liking everything.
"Slow down Flora, do you have two stomachs?" Rose gawked as she watched me gulp everything within my arms reach.
I swallowed my lamp chop and winked at her, "Or do I?"
"Well, if you continue down that road, you might as well," she chuckled.
After ten minutes of eating and chatting merrily, I was done. As always, that was one of the best meals I have ever since I was here the last time...four years ago. There is nothing more amazing than the Hogwarts's food prepared by elves.
"Thanks a lot everyone, that was great," I said to the excited house elves and they gave me low bows in return.
A short and hunched-back house elf squeaked sadly, "But you haven't had your dessert miss."
I looked down at him and shrugged, "Oh I don't know if there is room in there anymore," I patted my belly half joking and uncertain as I watched the disappointment on the house elves faces.
Seeing how upset my statement made them, I beamed, "But you can bring it all to my quarters, its Florina A. Woods."
"Yes miss! Thank you miss!" they all bowed in unison.
I waved them good bye and returned back to my quarters. I whispered my new password "Pat-Prim" and went inside closing the door slowly.
I froze at the magnificence of the place I get to call 'my home'.
Slowly, I walked around the quarters engulfing its beauty, surveying every inch of the room with my eyes. The living room was huge and round, similar to a penthouse. It was decorated with my favourite colours, red and black. The color choice had me wonder if they knew those were my favourite?
The fireplace was lit and the room was surprisingly warm. I sat on the long lounge that was too made of black fabric and cluttered with red cushions and laid down. Admiring the magnificence of the ceiling, I heard someone apparate in my room.
Stunned, I shot up at once wand raised. I was surprised to see a small skinny creature before me. It was a house elf and it had round big blue eyes and a few clumps of hair that it held in two ponytails.
It whirled around and smiled at my startled face, "Hello Miss. My name is Bubbles," it giggled at how unresponsive I was "If you need anything, you call on Bubbles miss."
I swallowed the lump in my throat and croaked, "Hey Bubbles. Th- that's really sweet of you."
She came closer to me and bowed, the innocent smile never leaving her face.
"So," I smiled back relaxing "I have questions."
"Anything you want miss," she beamed.
"Can you appear at will, because I didn't summon you or anything?"
"Oh," she said "Well, Bubbles want to make sure Miss is okay. Also Bubbles want Miss to know Bubbles is here for her if she need Bubbles."
I nodded grinning at how cute that house elf was, "It's just a guess, but are you the one who decorated my room?"
She chuckled nodding, "Yes miss. The headmaster ask Bubbles to take care of Miss."
"Well, that is really sweet of you Bubbles. I feel like we will be best friends," her face lit up like a thousand light bulbs when she heard that, "But please call me Flora, no need for formality."
She exclaimed excitedly, "Bubbles be honoured to have Miss Flora as best friend!"
I laughed at how adorable the little elf was and it made me sympathize with her. Her life must have been hell with her previous owners before she was brought to Hogwarts.
That made me wonder, who were her previous masters?
She suddenly came closer to me until we were practically glued face to face. She took a very quick glance in the direction of my fairy and brought her head even closer to my ear.
She whispered urgently, "Do you remember me?"
Before I could respond to her very peculiar question, a few memories flashed in mind all at once rendering me silent. They weren't clear or vivid but rather very quick and not in sync at all.
Suddenly, Rose coughed loudly. Very loudly, which took me out of my moment of trance. I slowly turned to her not remembering that very peculiar feeling that just grabbed my attention. At that moment, my fairy's cough kept getting worse. It progressively turned into a very mysterious coughing fits, as if she was almost choking.
I ran by my fairy's side not minding the presence of the house elf. "Rose, are you alright?!" I exclaimed.
Her face was extremely red from the coughing and it took her a few moments to recover.
I never knew fairies could cough, I wondered silently.
As a matter of fact, I never saw Rose coughing before so it was very unusual to see her do so. Deciding to ignore the thought, I gently rubbed her back doing circular motions as I kept staring at her. After a few moments, her coughing fits were fading away and I sighed in relief.
I smiled up at her only to see her glaring. Taken aback by her behavior, I stepped inches away from her and turned to the house elf who was momentarily trembling with fear.
She was looking in the direction of my fairy and shivering but when her eyes locked with mine however, she held my gaze for a while and flashed me an adorable smile. Giving me one final toothy grin, she disapparated with a poof leaving me and my fairy who was still glaring at her exact direction.
Slowly, I turned to Rose who returned to her happy sweet self.
She grinned. "Got you didn't I? You silly!" she exclaimed happily "Fairies do not cough. You surely know that by now."
I was petrified for a moment but seeing how happy she was, I decided not to stress on the subject and nudged her playfully. We both chuckled. I skipped to the bathroom and took a quick hot shower which was relaxing. Still contemplating the beauty of the place, I came out and wore my favourite red sleeveless night gown and laid on the king sized bed putting my wand on the nightstand.
I gave a long sigh admiring the softness of the sheets and thinking about the events of my very first night. "Rose, have you noticed that Severus doesn't remember me?" I asked in a sad whisper.
She laid down beside me and turned, "I did. Was is important for you?" she paused thoughtfully "For him to remember you?"
I shrugged as I laid straight on my back looking at the ceiling, "Well, I was just wondering I guess. I really hoped he might" I sighed "guess I was wrong."
Rose shook her head, "To be fair, he is egotistic and not caring so I would be surprised if he honestly remembered anyone. Did you see how hostile he was towards you? Trust me, someone like that doesn't deserve your attention."
"I guess," I smiled at her for comforting me and that she actually had a valid point.
She laid beside me and began doing her little soothing enchantment on me. It always helped me alongside with my relieving potions I noticed so she kindly does them on me every night. Enchantments are fairy's magic, their spells, ways to protect themselves and their carriers which was pretty convenient.
She whispered when she was done, "Feeling better?"
I nodded feeling drowsy, "Loads. Thank you Ro!"
"Don't mention it," she beamed.
I set my muggle alarm at six o'clock and then said "Good night Rose."
"Good night love," she responded.
******
I was jolted up at the sound of my alarm and stopped it with my wand that I kept on my night stand. "Why do you have that annoying alarm clock still?" my annoyed fairy grunted.
"Because it's annoying," I grumbled slowly sitting up.
"Had a good sleep?" Rose asked stretching as far as her back could go.
"The best! These beds are so comfortable," I smiled and patted the bed admiring its smoothness.
She sat up straight and started with her morning soothing enchantments to get me through the day. They were a mixture of muscle relaxers and anti-drowsiness charms that helps me fully wake up in the morning. When she was done, I whispered chuckling, "What would I have done without you?"
She turned to me and smiled, "Oh by the way, you have an appointment with Dumbledore."
"Oh my Godric! I almost forgot," I exclaimed jumping out of bed and into the shower.
After about thirty minutes, I got ready and checked myself in the mirror. I wore my red silk robes, black shiny boots and my black cloak over my shoulder. I also tied my hair half in a proper bun and the other half loose over my back.
"And don't forget Snape's cloak," Rose said as she adjusted the red rose on top of my bun.
"Of course," I nodded at her.
"Hey Rose, do me a favour?" I looked at her from the mirror.
She patted my shoulder once indicating that she was done, "Anything."
I whirled around and grinned, "Stop calling him Snape, at least in front of me."
She nodded, "I will try my best."
"Thanks," I murmured with one wave of my wand "Accio Severus's cloak."
I folded it neatly and then tucked my wand in the hidden pocket inside my sleeve. Heading to the living room, I took the desserts the house elves prepared for me from the magically cooled pantry and sat down to eat them. They were mostly chocolate desserts like chocolate cakes, brownies, fudges and tarts.
When I was done eating, I put the rest back and went to Severus's quarter. I stopped abruptly at his door hesitant to knock. My fist was in mid-air as I whispered to Rose, "What if he was asleep? I don't want to wake him up."
"So go to Dumbledore first," she ordered "and then come back for his cloak."
Our conflict didn't last long as the door suddenly sprang open which made me jump in surprise and made the dark haired wizard jump as well mortified.
He looked down at me giving me his deadliest glare, "Woods!" he inquired angrily "What are you doing here?"
I felt myself shaking from the intensity of the daggers shooting from his eyes and tried to stay calm, "Oh I am sorry that I frightened you--" he interrupted me hotly, "You didn't frighten me."
"I just came here to give you this," I handed him the cloak "and thank you," I whispered trying my best to stay polite. His expression softened a bit as he took the cloak from my awaiting hands.
"Have a good day sir," I said and walked away leaving him at the door.
"Remind me to put a bell around his neck," Rose said playfully once we were out of that awkward situation.
"True that," I nodded.
We finally stood in front of the gargoyles of Headmaster's office. I was about to open my mouth when Rose cut me off, "Let me guess, it needs a password?"
I nodded giving her an 'obviously' look, "Don't worry, I think I remember it, it is always a candy." Rose snickered at that. Getting closer to the gargoyles, I whispered "lemon drops" but nothing happened.
I paused puzzled "No, well alright then acid pops," I said louder and still nothing happened.
I started getting more frustrated by the awkward situation I was placed in. What was more aggravating is sudden regret.
Why didn't I ask Severus for the password. Come to think of it, that might have been the only way to acquire that information instead of storming away like I did.
"Chocolate frogs" nothing "Bearty bops" nothing " pumpkin pasties" nothing "Black beans" obviously nothing.
"You can do better than black beans," Rose mocked out of frustration.
"Well I don't know Rose! Our headmaster has a bizarre sense of humour!" I shot angrily "knowing him he would have a ridiculous password like... I don't know... cockroach clusters," I finished still angry but to my surprise the gargoyles moved revealing the staircase.
Me and Rose looked at one another and busted out laughing. "Oh my Lanta!" Rose exclaimed "it was cockroach clusters, really?"
"I told you," I caught my breath as I stood on the first stair and it began moving upwards.
It finally stopped and I hopped out of it and knocked on the door. I heard a soft "come in" and opened the door. The headmaster was sitting on his desk in front of me looked up and smiled widely.
"Good morning Florina, please have a seat," he grinned gesturing to the chair in front of his desk.
"Good morning Headmaster," I mirrored with a wide grin of my own and sat down.
I noticed his beautiful phoenix and began admiring it. It looked back at me once and then carried on with feathering it's wings. "I see Fawkes stole your attention," the Headmaster looked over at the phoenix who found something very interesting on his plate and dropped to examine it with his beak.
"Who?" I asked dazzlingly as I continued to stare at it.
He chuckled at my expression, "His name is Fawkes, a fire phoenix."
"Oh, he is very beautiful sir," I nodded still bedazzled by its beauty "and very rare too."
He gave me another wide smile and said, "Indeed." He moved forward in his chair to get my attention and said softly, "Florina, please call me Albus."
I turned to him, "Oh of course sir... I mean Albus."
He beamed at me straightening, "So how was your first night here?"
I exclaimed quickly unable to stop myself, "It was the best night of my life!"
"Brilliant," he grinned, "Let's begin then. You are surely wondering why I asked to meet you in private,"I nodded and he went on, "I received your release papers from St. Mungo's and they finally cleared you as fully healed, fully sane and ready for teaching with no red flags at all regarding either your safety or the safety of our students."
I exclaimed, "Really! That's great news. I was waiting for those release papers since three months ago."
He got up and sat on the chair opposite mine, "But Florina, as the headmaster of Hogwarts I must care for the well-being of my teachers and students. So my dear, I must ask you this if you may, are you ready?"
I nodded confidently, "Yes Albus I am ready."
He smiled, "I admire your confidence in the matter but once again I must insist on you taking it easy on yourself," he leaned forward slightly, "And if you ever feel the need for a break, kindly inform me at once."
"I promise," I smiled shortly.
"And how is Severus treating you?" he asked leaning forward again.
His question took me by surprise and rendered me speechless for a few moments. "He doesn't remember me sir. After all we have been through."
He gave a long sigh nodding and prompted me to go on.
"And well... he apparently hates my guts," I lowered my gaze with tinge of sadness in my voice.
He nodded once more, "Oh Florina. I am sure he doesn't hate you. He just needs to get used to you."
"Again Professor?!" I shot stunned.
He chuckled with a twinkle in his eyes, "Of course Florina, what did you expect? That's our dear potions master we are talking about. Surely you know that by now."
"I was expecting him to be... different," I sighed feeling uneasy "It has been four years, so I hoped he would slightly be like his old times. Times when I was his favourite student. Times when I came to visit Hogwarts after my graduation and he was thrilled... that's all Professor."
There was a moment of silence until Albus started again, "There is also another reason why I brought you here today," he paused and I nodded "I must ask a favour from you."
"Sure, anything?" I looked up at him and nodded once more.
He paused for a minute wanting to make his every word count, "I need you to keep an eye on Severus for me."
"Sir, you mean like spy on him?" I croaked surprised.
"Oh God no, that would be inappropriate," he shook his head and smiled at me the twinkle is still in his eyes, "I meant that he needs a good friend. Sadly, he is too proud to admit it."
"Albus, what makes you think he would want to be friends with me again?" I asked questioning the man's sanity subconsciously.
"My dear Florina, we all need faithful friends in our lives," the old wizard sighed "but yes I must agree, it will be a challenging task. However I am sure you are the man for the job" he chuckled correcting "Sorry... Woman for the job."
I gave a long sigh "Well I am not going to lie, I do want to be closer to him again. His mysterious personality is intriguing. I always felt like there is more to him than meets the eye."
He clapped his hands once beaming, "I take it as a yes then Florina."
I nodded quietly. "I will give it my best but I cannot make any promises."
"It's settled then. Good luck," he gave me a smile and I got up to the door.
"Oh and Florina here is your teaching schedule," he stood up and handed me the sheet "your classes start tomorrow." I took it from him nodding.
"Have a good day Albus," I said as I walked myself out his office and heard a soft "Same to you" before I shut the door.
I carefully stepped on the stair and it slowly went down with Rose quietly fluttering behind me. Stepping out of the stair case, I headed for my quarters with Rose fluttering beside me.
"Hey Flo," she held my hand suddenly to slow me down, "I know you got tired of hearing this from everyone including your headmaster, but are you absolutely sure you are ready?"
I stopped and whirled around, "Why does everyone keep asking me that?" I gave a short annoyed sigh, "Yes! For the hundredth time... I am! The past is the past Ro. I am nothing like what I used to be, I promise. I changed! I became stronger, more responsible."
"You have to excuse me Flo for always asking you about it," she got closer patting my shoulder, "As your carrier, I am bound to worry. What you went through in the past wasn't easy—"
I jumped in before she gets into details, "And I got over it. Look, I will never forget it or...him," I swallowed hard, "I am aware of that but I am trying to survive here. That's the point from living right. To try and survive. Hogwarts will be a new fresh start for me, I promise."
She nodded holding back her tears and she hugged me briefly "You are a survivor. I am sure you will."
I grinned, "That's what I need right now Ro... support."
She nodded once more smiling, "Come on let's get back." She let go of me and we continued our walk.
As we inched closer to my quarters, Rose asked to break the silence, "So what was your favourite subject?"
I beamed, "Potions."
I felt a sudden blush creep up on me which I successfully hid.
"The one that Snape..." she corrected herself when I gave her a look "Severus teaches."
"That's right," I nodded and asked rhetorically "why is that you may ask? Because he was a great teacher... in my opinion anyway."
"Great?" she questioned.
I shrugged, "Well yes. I am aware he might have a temper and might not help you and rather mock you. But in all honesty he was very helpful to me when he saw that I was interested in potions. He even gave me private lessons when I needed them," I grinned at the memory.
Maybe I can be his friend again. After all, he wasn't as mean to me as he was to everyone else now that I think about it. Or maybe I was just his trophy student, the only student who knew most of the answers to his unexplained questions. The only student who took an O in his OWLs and NEWTs besides... Patrick. All the Slytherins didn't manage to get the score I got, even with Severus's "merciful" grading.
How could he forget me? I wondered again.
Even though my appearance changed dramatically those four years, I am still... Me. What was even more nagging, why I cared so much about the matter?
Why would it make a difference to me whether he forgot me or not, I wasn't crushing on him... at least not anymore. Maybe once when I was in my fifth year but I grew out of it when I met... Patrick.
Was it related to my obsessive compulsive disorder or was I just overly excited to meet my dear old Professor?
"Florina," I heard Rose's soft whisper but I was so immersed in thought that I didn't pay attention.
"FLORINA!" Rose exclaimed louder but whatever she was shouting for or trying to prevent was clearly too late as I looked up to see myself collide with my ex potions master.
I was engrossed in the memory and mistook his chambers for mine but he was coincidentally standing at the doorway and I bummed into his chest.
"Oh... I am sorry sir," I blushed not just because of the embarrassment but also from the sudden closeness, so close to him in fact that I could smell his same exotic cologne.
His strong hands caught me in time before we both fell to the floor. "Why do we have eyes Woods?" he asked me sarcastically.
I dropped my gaze not wanting to show any emotion, "I was deep in my thoughts sir."
"So you think with your eyes?" he smirked at me and I got even redder.
"Your quarters is there not here," he pointed at mine fully aware that I knew that.
He just wanted to humiliate me even further. My old potions master is back at it again with his nasty ways... just delightful.
"Right," I nodded slowly.
I began to move when I felt a hand stopping me and a soft voice saying, "I remember you now," I looked up to see him getting closer to me again.
"Excuse me?" I whispered back breathing in his scent.
"Come in for a minute," he opened the door to his chambers wider revealing more of its contents.
"But that's your private quarters," I said as I pressed on the word private.
"I can read the tablet thank you very much," he said sarcastically, "Would you prefer if it was yours?"
"No, its alright," I shook my head and I pushed myself through his door into his quarters.
In all honesty, mine was an absolute mess even though I spent only one night in it so I was reluctant to invite him over. His quarters were as big as mine but nothing like mine. It was much darker. Most of the furniture were silky black or deep green and silver, Slytherin colours, touché.
He gestured for me to sit on the couch in front of the fire place and I obliged. He sat and turned to face me with an indifferent expression. I have never seen him that close before and I could see more of his prominent features clearly.
His eyes were onyx black with a ring of dark brown in the middle now that the fire light were hitting his orbs. They were absolutely mesmerizing especially with his intense gaze that he was giving me. My eyes wandered more across his face. His face seemed to have withstand a beating. The past four years changed his features tremendously, left him unrecognizable. It was like he aged a decade in the span of four years.
His nose hooked as always. His lips weren't as thin as I thought they would be, I guess it just seemed to be from his constant sneering. There were actually full and surprisingly sweet pink. He snapped his finger at me and I was brought back to reality.
"If you are finished with surveying my face, we could start," he whispered smirking at me.
Thankfully, he didn't seem to be angry but rather amused. "Sorry sir," I murmured "that was rude of me." He shook his head dismissing it.
"Sir, you said earlier you remember me, what--" he cut me off "What did I mean by that?" he paused when I nodded "Well throughout my years of teaching I had to agonizingly teach dunderheads."
I snickered nodding. "I heard you talking earlier to someone about my class."
I blushed, "How much of that did you hear?"
"Enough to remind me of you, you were the only one who got an O in my OWLs and NEWTs."
I nodded and smile, so he does know me. That was awfully nice of him to mention that to me now. Actually way too nice, more like suspiciously nice as per my experience Severus and nice never mixes. My Slytherin senses started tingling and all my alarms were on. Something doesn't feel right.
What's with the sudden change of heart?
"Who were you talking to? I didn't see anyone standing except for you," he asked his expression icy.
I looked up at him confused and asked, "What are you talking about?"
"Florina, you talk to yourself a lot, it's quite noticeable."
I remained silent so he continued, "I know you are as sane as I am so there must have been someone with you."
He, for the first time called me by my first name. But not only that, he also wants to know about Rose. Was this just a scheme to know my secret? I knew it! Riling up the emotions of the young girl so that she foolishly reveals her secrets.
Rookie move professor, I thought angrily.
So he didn't care if he remembered me or not, he just wants to know why I talk to myself a lot. Rose was hovering beside me boiling with anger. I gave her a quick glance but he noticed it and followed my gaze and back at me.
"I am not that teenager anymore you know," I whispered dropping my gaze.
He asked coldly, "Excuse me?"
I met his eyes trying to calm myself from the intense hate I felt towards him, "I won't allow you to treat me like that anymore sir. I am not that girl anymore whether you see it or not."
He spat dangerously low, "Know your place Woods. You only arrived yesterday, I could as easily send you back..." he got really close to my face and whispered, "home."
He kept his hawk like gaze on me and smirked "Oh I am sorry, you don't have one. Too bad."
The tears were on the verge of falling but I resisted them with all my might. I didn't want to be weak in front of him, not at that moment. His words won't affect me anymore, I promised Patrick I will be stronger and I intend to keep my promise.
I met his gaze once more and smiled, "And at the end of the day, I will be more likable and tolerable than you Professor."
He suddenly got up and snatched me by the collar, "Don't get smart with me Woods," I struggled to free myself but he was stronger, "You know what I can do to you. Never forget, your past, present and future lays in my bare hands. A simple letter to St. Mungo's should do the trick."
He let go of me with a firm push and I stumbled backwards hitting the couch. He sat back down beside me his eyes never leaving mine, enjoying my pain, thriving over my broken heart.
This is the part I completely forgot, how nasty he can get? How low he is willing to steep to prove a point. Sometimes I wished I knew more about him, just to give him a taste of his own medicine.
I knew what he was referring to, he was using my illness against me. Technically, I am not supposed to teach children in fear of endangering their lives or perhaps egging them on.
Even if I was fully recovered and still taking my recovery potions, I am still not redeemed safe to be in a room full of young children. If it wasn't for Dumbledore's generous offer to intercede and grant me this position at Hogwarts, I don't know where I would be.
I got out of my trance with Severus still gazing at me waiting for my comeback.
I opened my mouth but he immediately intervened, "Maybe a quick reminder that you were a victim of –" I quickly cut him off not wanting him to say it, "I am sorry."
He smirked even more, "Say those magical words again."
I stuttered lowering my gaze, "I- I am sorry."
He taunted, "Was that so hard?"
"Sir do you have secrets?" I whispered at once.
"Pardon?" He raised a brow.
"It's a simple equation sir, you have your secrets and I have mine," I got up quickly before I shed anymore of those damned tears and was ready to storm out when he caught my arm again.
I looked down at his hand and then face which was still expressionless. "What?" I shot angrily but there was no response.
"That's what I thought," I said and stormed out of his quarters.
