Supergirl ~ Trinity ~ Part One
No real life update for me here except that I'm back in school, so again, no update schedule is promised. However, I can answer a few questions I'm certain more than one person has wondered recently.
1. I'm leaning more towards writing the 2018-2019 seasons more than ever, so chances are good there'll be more from this series to come. However, I don't know how much of those seasons I'll write. Some episodes I may do, some I may not. Though that's the same thing I said of this book before, and I've ended up doing practically every episode . . . that being said, things will get pretty AU since I have no intentions of sending Oliver to prison, so who knows what canon episodes may fit into what I could have planned.
2. "Elseworlds" will definitely be happening no matter what, and it'll be happening with the Legends. The crossover was amazing even without them, but how could I resist not having the opportunity to have the Legends witness this crazy mess? So, if there are any Legends you definitely want to have in it, let me know! The more I can plan ahead of time, the better an idea I'll have on what to do once I reach that point.
So, now that that's done . . . Lena officially meets Jesse, Kara discovers a way to find Sam, and Sam meets Julia in the dark valley.

"They're back!" Felicity shouted, shooting upright in her chair.
Everyone gathered around the console whipped around, and when Kara blurred into view, she and Lena stumbling as they landed, Oliver ran towards her. "You OK?" he asked in concern.
"We're fine," Kara nodded as J'onn, Mon-El, and Imra returned next, Barry and Jesse speeding in a second afterwards. "We're OK."
"Lena?" Malcolm asked.
"If your definition of 'OK' is alive, then yes, I'm OK," Lena took a few deep breaths, eyes red as she tried to keep herself under control.
Oliver looked past them as Cisco opened a breach and jumped out with Slade, Dig, and Caitlin, Harry with them, and his eyes widened in horror. "Where's Sam?" he asked.
Lena let out a noise similar to a cat being strangled and shook her head rapidly, putting her head in her hand, and Kara hugged her fiercely. Alex's eyes widened and she ran over to join the hug, William's own eyes wide in alarm. "What happened?" he asked.
"In the words I never want to hear from a villain's mouth again," Slade grimaced, "stronger together."
***
"Whoa," Evelyn's eyes were the size of saucers when she finished hearing what happened. "Cool!" Kara's head whipped to her, looking at her incredulously, and Evelyn quickly backpedaled when she saw the miserable look on Lena's face. "But terrible."
"Maybe if they weren't supervillains, it'd be more cool," William chimed in.
"Exactly," Evelyn pointed at William, taking his way out.
J'onn cleared his throat. "Perhaps now would be a good time to hear what you've learned, Lena."
"After I showed you the footage from my office, I took Sam to a secret lab of mine in L-Corp," Lena answered, sitting at the head of the table in the conference room. "I conducted a series of tests with her consent."
"When I examined her, I found nothing out of the ordinary," Alex frowned.
"I guess you weren't looking for the right things," Lena shrugged.
"So what did you find?"
"After sequencing her DNA and comparing Sam's blackouts to Reign's attacks, I came to the conclusion that we were right," Lena answered with a sigh. "Sam is Reign."
Kara closed her eyes and turned around, and immediately Oliver put his arms around her, hugging her as she buried her face in his shoulder. Seeing Sam's "blackout" in Lena's office on tape had been one thing, but to hear the confirmation from Lena was another. "Oh, Sam," Laurel sighed, leaning her head back against the wall.
"Surely something good came out of this, right?" Cisco asked hopefully.
"I was hoping to isolate the spark that turned Sam into Reign, but I didn't get a chance to finish," Lena shook her head. "Sorry, Cisco."
"Any way of tracking the Worldkillers?" Barry asked.
"No," Lena sighed miserably, lowering her head onto her crossed arms on the table.
J'onn looked across the table at the three aliens on the other side. "Anyone else?"
"They've gone to ground," Mon-El shook his head. "They're not coming up again until they have something big to do."
"The future's fate is more precarious than ever," Imra said grimly.
"Would you like to know our odds of defeating Pestilence at this juncture?" Querl looked up.
"No," multiple people around the room answered at the same time.
"OK," Barry rubbed his forehead. "Well, the good news is while the Worldkillers are all together now, you've got us helping you," he gestured to Caitlin, Cisco, and Harry. "Surely we'll find a way to track them down."
"I'll work on trying to contact the Waverider, too," Cisco added. "Ray and Lily will want to help."
"Then let's do it," J'onn nodded.
***
"We are so close, daughters," the Fortress hologram smiled in dark satisfaction as she looked upon the trio in front of her. "So close to a new and clean realm. But before we can begin, the humanity within you must shrivel and submit. You must be completely mine."
Pestilence closed her eyes, then made a noise similar to a purr. "I just felt it. Grace just shriveled and gave up without a sound. My change is complete."
"And you are magnificent," the hologram declared, making Pestilence preen. "Purity, Reign, you will soon follow. Samantha and Julia cannot last long now that you're all finally together." Reign nodded her understanding, and the hologram looked between them. "You must all join and bring a blessed darkness to Earth so that it may be reborn."
Reign gestured, and Purity and Pestilence took her hands, the three of them standing in a circle as electricity crackled between their hands.

Sam woke up gasping for breath, looking around the dark valley in horror. She had blacked out again . . . and this time, it hadn't been because Lena and Harry had electrocuted her.
She jumped when she saw a figure laying a few feet away, and she stared at the woman in a pantsuit lying limply. "Oh, Jesus," she breathed, putting a hand over her heart. She looked the other direction, and this time, she saw someone else . . . another woman, this one with dark skin and wearing a red sweater, staring blankly with wide eyes. "Who are you?" she asked, standing up. "I'm not gonna hurt you."
The other woman screamed suddenly, scrambling backwards and making Sam jump. "I killed him!" the woman gasped.
Sam looked between the two of them, then shook her head. "I don't see anything."
"That's because he's mine," the woman swallowed. "Not yours. But your kills will come back soon."
Sam's eyes widened. "We're the same," she realized, then looked at the woman still limp on the ground. "Was she one of us, too?"
The other woman started panting, and she looked back to see her backing away. "He wants me!" she gasped. "They're coming. They're all coming!"
"Come on," Sam crossed the valley and held out her hand. 'We're not safe here. We have to go."
"There's nowhere to go," the other woman shook her head.
"There is," Sam told her. "Let's go."
The other woman swallowed, and she let Sam pull her to her feet. Sam nodded encouragingly, leading her around the woman dead in the center of the valley and further into the forest, hopefully to find somewhere safer than there.

A thud on the table in front of her made Lena open her eyes, and a small smile tugged at her lips when she saw the water bottle in front of her. "Really?" she asked, even as she reached out to take it.
"I know what it's like when you get engrossed in what you're doing," Jesse smiled, leaning against the table. "You forget what time it is, you forget to eat . . . and hydrate."
Lena smiled fondly, unscrewing the lid. "Thank you, Jesse." She took a sip, eyeing Harry's daughter curiously. "Just so you know," she said, putting the water bottle down again. "This is nowhere near how I imagined us meeting."
"I didn't even know about you until a few hours ago," Jesse sighed, dropping down into the chair across from her.
"Yeah, you've been in different universes," Lena nodded, pointing at her. "You protect Earth-2 while he's helping Barry's team."
"That's me," Jesse nodded. "And I nearly lost my dad a few hours ago, too."
"Wait, what?!" Lena's eyes widened considerably.
"What happened to Harry?" Winn's head poked up from where he was bent over his computer, followed by Felicity after he spoke.
"None of your business!" Lena waved them off, and pouting, both went back to what they were doing. "Sorry," she apologized to Jesse with a tense smile. "All of the teams have kind of grown closer over the past year or so."
"It's good to hear that," Jesse waved her apology off. "It's good to hear Dad's found his group to be with." She sighed. "Long story short, a nuclear bomb that could have destroyed Central City started to go off, and Barry and I had to slow down time way too much to try and think of a way to stop it."
"Oh, my God," Lena pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Barry managed it, but God, it was tough," Jesse sighed. "And I was thinking . . . if we didn't manage to stop the bomb . . . I never would have really reconciled with my dad."
Lena tilted her head, curiosity overruling her worry for Sam at the moment. "What happened with you and Harry?" she asked.
"It's just . . . he was overprotective and never wanted to talk about my mom," Jesse answered, blushing a bit. "I pressured him to tell me about her."
Lena winced sympathetically. "It can be very hard to talk about family members we've lost," she told Jesse. "My mother died when I was seven. She drowned in a lake while I watched from the shore."
"I'm sorry," Jesse's eyes widened.
"It's fine, Jesse," Lena shook her head in assurance. "But on the subject of our mothers, I figure you didn't expect to learn about me when you visited S.T.A.R. Labs."
"Not at all," Jesse shook her head rapidly.
"Well, if there's one thing I can promise you, it's this," Lena leaned forward. "I have no intention of hurting Harry or of trying to become your mother."
Jesse smiled slightly. "That helps . . . a bit."
"Better a bit than none," Lena shrugged.
"Supergirl?" Laurel's voice behind them suddenly called.
"Supergirl!" That came from Caitlin.
Lena whipped around to see Kara's legs buckle out from underneath her, Barry speeding over to catch her before she hit the ground completely. "What happened?" Lena jumped off her chair and ran over, Oliver and Alex ahead of her.
"She got this weird look on her face and then swayed, and then this," Barry gestured to her, Oliver helping him lay Kara on the floor. "Supergirl?" he shook her gently.
"Allen." Harry's voice sounded odd, and Barry looked up at him to see him pointing out of the building. "Look at the sun."
Lena looked up, too, and she did a double take when she saw the darkening sky. "Is that an eclipse?" Jesse's jaw dropped.
"I don't – I don't think that's supposed to happen," Felicity stammered.
"It's not," Alex shook her head.
Kara suddenly gasped and shot up, eyes wide as she tried to get her bearings back. "Hey," Oliver reached out and grabbed her shoulders, steadying her. "You're OK. Kara, it's OK."
"I saw Sam," Kara stammered, looking up and around at everyone. "I just saw Sam."
***
"That eclipse is like someone grabbed on the moon and pulled," Max said as everyone gathered around the main console in the D.E.O.
"But the Earth and the Moon turn on an axis," Jesse said in confusion. "Unless this Earth is really, really, really, really different, no amount of technology can change that."
"That's because this isn't technology," Kara shook her head as she walked up with Oliver.
"You should be in the medbay," Alex frowned.
"Tried that on her already," Oliver shook his head. "Not gonna work."
"This is older than science," Kara told them.
"Please don't say 'magic,'" Max frowned.
"Dark magic," Kara smiled apologetically.
"Great," Max rolled his eyes.
"Reign, Purity, Pestilence, they were all created by Kryptonian witches to do one thing," Kara told everyone. "Kill the world."
"As if the term 'Worldkillers' didn't emphasize that enough," Cisco mumbled.
"Well, this eclipse will do exactly that," Caitlin looked out at the eclipse as she spoke.
"How do you know this?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah, I thought you said last December there wasn't anything like this in your religion," Barry nodded.
"There's no apocalypse in the Book of Rao, but there are parables about witches joining hands to create a blessed darkness," Kara answered.
"So, whatever ritual the Worldkillers are doing, it's creating the eclipse," Oliver pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Well, the world can't live without sunlight," Caitlin said worriedly.
"We can't, either," Felicity swallowed.
"What a cheery day we're having," Malcolm scowled.
J'onn cleared his throat, turning around. "How long have we got?"
"Two hours until totality," Winn answered.
"Then what?" Slade asked.
"Temperature drops fifty degrees, maybe more," Harry answered.
"So let's avoid that, if we can," Laurel frowned.
"Seconded," Malcolm pointed at her.
"Different topic," Oliver held up his hand, looking at Kara. "You said you saw Sam."
"I did," she nodded.
"But people don't dream during a seizure," J'onn frowned.
"It's the same dream I've been having for the last year," Kara said. "I'm in the Kryptonian valley, Juru. Normally, I see the Worldkillers, but today, I saw Sam."
"You saw Julia in your dream a month or so ago, and that turned out real," Oliver pointed out.
"Because it's not a dream," Lena turned to Kara. "The valley's real. When I was working with Sam, she told me of this place. It's an alternate dimension that she would go to when Reign would take over."
"But how could you see it?" Dig asked Kara.
"On Mars, my people would share memories, emotions, experiences," J'onn thought. "Sometimes, you would experience a particularly strong mind wholly by accident."
"Like picking up a radio broadcast?" Cisco asked.
"And Kara just happened to pick up an entire alternate dimension?" Lucy frowned.
"I think most of us around here can say that's not the most bizarre thing that's ever been suggested or done," Barry cleared his throat.
"Barry has a point," Oliver conceded.
"And if she can pick it up, then we could go in there, wake Sam up, and she could send us a message to say where the Worldkillers are," Lena smiled.
"Not to put a damper on this, but there's one problem," Harry frowned. "How do we send Supergirl back to this valley?"
Kara grinned. "We fight fantasy with sci-fi."
***
"Let me get this straight," Querl frowned. "You want me to broadcast your consciousness into a magical dark valley dimension using the 31st century technology, which allowed me to access your mind when Reign punched you into a coma – technology specifically designed to enter human consciousness, not alternate realms – and you want me to do this all before the solar eclipse achieves totality, which will happen in less than two hours?"
"Yes," Kara confirmed.
"OK, no problem," Querl nodded. "Sounds fun. To the Legion cruiser!"
Barry snickered as they left the lab to follow Querl. "He's entertaining."
"You should be in the Arrowcave with him when everyone else is out there fighting," Felicity giggled.
"Kara," Lena jogged to catch up with Kara. "I'm coming with you."
"What?" Kara looked at her, eyes wide. "Lena, this might not even be possible!"
"Oh, no, it's possible," Querl whirled around to tell her.
"Kara, I've spent weeks working with Sam and Reign, every day," Lena urged. "I know what makes them tick. I know their DNA sequences better than my own phone number. And you know Sam, yes, but I've known her longer than anyone here. If anyone wants to get Sam back, it's me."
"With the sun darkening, your powers are gonna weaken," Alex added. "You might not have any powers in that valley . . . mind realm . . . thing. You're gonna need somebody to watch your backs."
Kara sighed, closing her eyes. "OK," she nodded. "I guess we're all in this together."
"Strength in numbers," Lena smiled.
"I need fifteen minutes to prepare," Querl spun on his heel, heading off.
"Oho, you're gonna love this," Cisco grinned at Jesse. "Come on!"
"Are you comfortable with this?" Oliver asked Kara in concern as they walked on, Barry catching up on her other side.
"Which part?" Kara asked. "Going into the valley or bringing Alex and Lena with me?"
"Both," Oliver looked at her. "I've been with you when you've woken up from your dreams of this place, I know you hate them. And Alex I understand, but taking Lena is a risk. You don't know what you're gonna find there."
"Believe me, I would rather take the two of you in with me," Kara confessed.
"Me?" Barry's eyebrows shot up.
"Like Alex said, I might not have powers at all," Kara looked at him. "And no offense to Laurel or J'onn, or any of your team, but I would rather have a speedster in there with me." Barry nodded his understanding. "But like Lena said, she's been working with Sam for weeks and she and Alex are Sam's friends. I don't like bringing them both, but it's the best chance we have to reach Sam."
Oliver sighed. "So I get to see you unconscious in the Legion cruiser. Again."
"What fun," Barry agreed.

"Hello?" Sam called tentatively, leading the woman with her deeper into the valley. "Hello?" She swallowed, then called louder. "Hello?"
"No!"
Sam turned to see the woman behind her gasp and double over, her eyes wide in fear. "What?" she asked. "What's going on?"
"It's them," she whimpered, looking around. "All the people I killed."
"You're OK," Sam stepped forward. "We have to go."
"No, no, no, I killed them," she shook her head desperately, starting to breathe quicker. "I killed them. I killed them! It was me, I did it! And now they're coming!"
"Hey!" Sam grabbed her. "Listen to me! Listen to me! You didn't kill, OK? The Worldkiller in you did."
"I am Purity," the woman shook her head, then seemed to still, as if saying that made her feel better. "I am Purity."
"No, you're not," Sam shook her head.
"I am," the woman insisted, spinning around and clenching her fists. "I am! I am! I am!"
"Hey!" Sam ran in front of her as she collapsed. "Hey! Snap out of it! Look at me! What's your name? Tell me your name!"
"I – " She squeaked. "I don't know!"
"Come on, you got it," Sam coaxed. "Think, think!"
"I'm Julia Freeman," she finally answered.
"Julia," Sam nodded. "What do you remember?"
"My parents," she swallowed. "I remember them. I'm a musician."
"OK, OK, that's good," Sam nodded encouragingly. "I want you to sing me a song, OK? What's your favorite song?" Julia froze, and Sam shook her lightly. "It's OK."
"I can't remember the name of it," she whispered.
"It's OK," Sam told her. "You don't have to remember the name."
"I can't remember – "
"Just the tune, just the tune," Sam said. "Just hum it to yourself. My daughter does that when she's scared. My daughter – " She paused, eyes widening. "My daughter." Her daughter . . . her daughter was . . . was . . . "My daughter," she whispered, not even realizing Julia had started to hum. "What's my daughter's name? My daughter . . . my daughter . . . "
"You killed us."
Sam gasped when she heard the voice in the air. "You did this!" another came.
"Reign."
"I have a child. I had a child."
"No," Sam whimpered, grabbing her head. "My daughter's name . . . my daughter's name . . . "
"You killed us."
"You killed us all!"
"I was a mother of three!"
"Stop!"
"You did this!"
Sam finally had it. "My daughter's name is Ruby!" she screamed out. "Ruby!" She gasped for breath, collapsing on the ground, spinning around to find Julia as the voice faded out. "We have to remember who we are," she told her. She looked around on the ground, then grabbed a rock for herself and tossed another towards Julia. "Here, take that rock. Write what you know. Write what you know!"
"I don't know!" Julia shouted. "I don't know!"
"Write it!" Sam insisted, turning and starting to scratch furiously. "Write it all down!"
Julia swallowed, then picked up her rock and slowly started to scratch, Sam trying to keep her hysterics down as she repeatedly wrote Ruby's name.

"Oh," Evelyn said slowly. "My. God."
"This is so cool!" William grinned in agreement.
"Yes," Mon-El chuckled as he watched the two teenagers look around the Legion cruiser. "Yes, it is."
"Wait, you've never been here either?" Evelyn asked William in shock.
"I don't think I've had a reason to be here," William shook his head.
"Considering the only time you would've been here would've been when Kara was fighting for her life in a coma after Reign almost killed her, no, you haven't really had a reason," Oliver said, exchanging amused looks with Mon-El.
"OK, but if I heard there was a spaceship, I would wanna see it," Evelyn pointed around.
"You know, if you think this is cool, you should see the Waverider," Cisco poked his head up from where he and Felicity were setting up on the bridge.
"The what?" Evelyn blinked.
"It's a time ship," Winn grinned.
"A what?!"
"OK, how about let's not make her brain explode," Oliver held up his hand.
"I have so much to find out," Evelyn murmured, looking like a kid in a candy store.
"Believe me," Laurel chuckled as she and Malcolm came onto the bridge, both dressed back in their suits. "The Waverider's pretty awesome."
"The Legion cruiser's better," Querl argued.
"You haven't even been on the Waverider," Malcolm frowned.
"He's biased," Mon-El grinned.
"You don't say," Slade snorted.
"Gideon's cool," Lena offered her opinion as she came onto the bridge with Alex, Lena now dressed in a black jumpsuit similar to the one Alex wore at the D.E.O. "But since this ship saved Kara's life, I'm more biased to this one, too."
"Aha!" Querl pointed victoriously at Lena.
"Traitor!" Cisco pouted.
"It's also from this universe," Lena smiled innocently.
Cisco pouted, muttering incoherently and turning around. "Ah, team-ups," Harry rolled his eyes as Jesse stared at everyone in shock. "Never a boring moment."
"Unfortunately, it may be soon," Querl turned around, putting his hands back in their upside down triangle. "I am ready to begin when Supergirl is."
"Great," Lena rubbed her hands together. "The sooner we do this, the sooner we get Sam back."
William fidgeted. "About Sam . . . " Lena raised an eyebrow, and he sighed. "Is Ruby OK?" he asked. "You were the last one who saw her, and we haven't seen you in . . . well . . . however long it's been."
"Weeks," Felicity supplied.
"I don't think that's helping," Dig cleared his throat.
"Right," she ducked her head.
"Yes, she's OK," Lena promised William. "She's safe."
"Good," Oliver sighed in relief.
"What's good?" Kara asked as she walked in.
"Ruby's safe," William answered.
"Good," Kara smiled, then looked at Querl. "How's it coming?"
"Ready," he answered. "But you must know . . . the eclipse is diminishing your strength severely. I can send you into this dark valley, but adding the weight of two more minds to yours will weaken you further." Off to the side, Oliver tensed, Barry and Mon-El exchanging wary glances. "Your biology is impressive, but even you weren't built to be an interdimensional portal."
"That's a fun image," Cisco wrinkled his nose.
"Not helping, Ramon," Harry pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I'm sorry!" he burst out as Caitlin face palmed. "I get chatty when I'm nervous!"
Kara sighed, turning away from Querl. "Boys," she looked at Oliver, Barry, and Mon-El. "A word, please?" When they were steps away from the group, Kara bit her lip. "If this goes sideways . . . I need you to promise me something."
"Why don't I like where this is going?" Oliver frowned.
Kara fidgeted. "Pull Alex and Lena out, but leave me in until I finish the mission."
"Yep, I don't like it at all," Oliver closed his eyes.
"You heard Brainy," Mon-El frowned. "This could hurt you. This could kill you!"
"This is our only chance to save now or the future," Kara argued. "This is all we've got!"
"What's this about the future?" Barry looked around.
Mon-El sighed, closing his eyes. "Pestilence will evolve into the Blight."
"That thing that you were talking about destroying in the future, that killed entire planets?" Barry's eyes widened.
"That's exactly it."
"Oh, my – " Barry cut himself off, sighing and looking down. "Wow."
"Kara," Oliver began.
"I can do this," she stepped forward, Mon-El and Barry respectfully backing away to give them a little space. "We can find Sam, and we can stop the Worldkillers, all three of them, but that can't happen if I'm pulled out too soon."
Oliver swallowed hard. "The last time you were unconscious on this ship, you were dying because Reign put you in a coma," he whispered. "I don't know if I can watch you almost die again."
Kara reached up and cupped his face. "You won't," she told him. "This will go our way, I can feel it. It'll work. Just promise me."
He closed his eyes in defeat. "I promise," he finally nodded.
Kara stood on her toes and kissed him. "Thank you," she said quietly, giving him a quick hug. She gave Mon-El and Barry looks, and both nodded their agreement. "OK," she walked over to the chairs Imra had been setting up. "Let's do this."
Querl nodded, bending down to attach one of three crowns to her forehead. "Dad?" William swallowed, walking over to him.
"It'll be OK, buddy," Oliver put his arm around his shoulders, watching Kara sit back in the chair, Querl moving to help Alex as she and Lena sat down as well.
"I'll be right here," Kara smiled encouragingly at him.
"None of us are going anywhere," Slade told her.
"You better not," Alex said, trying to find a comfortable position as Querl finished with her crown.
"Oh, Danvers, you couldn't get rid of us if you tried," Max grinned.
"How unfortunate," she deadpanned.
"OK," Querl turned around, making sure he addressed everyone. "Once I induce transmission, your minds will be immediately beamed into this dark valley."
"Is it gonna hurt?" Alex asked.
"The chances are better than fifty percent," Querl answered.
Kara wasn't the only one who grimaced. "That's comforting," Alex muttered.
"Really?" Querl tilted his head. "I didn't think so."
Oliver cleared his throat. "Moving on?"
"Yes," Querl looked at the three on the chairs. "Would you like me to count to three?"
"Will it help?" Lena raised an eyebrow.
"No, not at all."
"Let's just get it over with," Kara sighed.
Querl steepled his fingers and bowed his head, and at once, Kara, Alex, and Lena went limp, eyes closing and their heads falling to the side. "Oh," Evelyn blinked. "That was . . . "
"Anticlimactic," Caitlin tilted her head.
Barry sighed. "And now we wait."
Oliver just nodded silently, eyes fastened on the three women, all passed out and completely still. "Now we wait."
***
Just a reminder that Lena's already told everyone that she's used Kryptonite, so the subplot with Kara asking James to discover if Lena's hiding any is not being included.
Not sure when the next update will come because I literally just finished typing this one, so keep an eye open!
