The Titanium Ninja

Kaylee's POV

We were still trapped in Delta-V. I lay down on the ground dejectedly, looking at the sky.

"These bugs just keep coming. We are going nowhere." Kai sighs, fighting the beetles.

"Nya, there's no way we're getting off this planet. Any last words, my darling?" Jay asks.

"How about It was always you, Cole. I won't be able to carry on without you." Cole retorts.

"Nya, how about Kaylee please save me from these blubbering buffoons?" I simper.

"Now is not the time for that! Can't I care for both of you? Now just don't give up." Nya says. "Also, Kaylee, that's a really nice request, but I'll pass."

"My dad was right, I should've never given up my Golden Power. We could have all been home. Now the Overlord has all he needs to become the Golden Master." Lloyd sighs.

"Don't say that. I was wrong. You must trust your friends. Trust yourself." Garmadon says.

"They've returned with the Golden Weapons. It's only a matter of time." Pixal replies.

"Search for the power within, then realize the greatness within each other," Sensei says, the greatness within each other. Yeah. All the greatness I see is the sky.

"Kaylee, you are so not helping." Kai snaps.

"What did I say?" I retort.

"All the greatness I see is the sky?" Zane repeats.

"I thought that was in my mind."

"He's right. We can get off this planet." Lloyd says.

"What about your Green Power, Lloyd?" I ask.

"It's too far. He'd never be able to keep his focus that long." Zane informs.

"No one happens to have a build-your-own-rocket-kit handy, do they?" Cole sighs.

"Whoa. That's it!" Lloyd cheers.

"You have a build-your-own-rocket-kit?" Jay gasps.

"No, but we can make one. Arcturus may not fly, but she'll give us all the metal we need. And Zane knows this solar system better than anyone." Lloyd explains.

"And Kai's Fire could weld the missing parts," Zane says.

"Cole's manpower could do all the heavy lifting," Kai adds.

"Jay has enough electricity and nerd knowledge to make a halfway believable spacecraft!~" Cole continues.

"Haha. Hey! Hey. This could actually work!" Jay cheers.

"Not too shabby." I grin.

"Let's fire this thing up and see if she'll fly." Kai cheers, and we start the rocket, finishing it in record time.

"Boosters?" I ask.

"Check," Kai confirms.

"Electronics?" Lloyd continues.

"Check." Jay nods.

"Navigation?" I look at Zane, who plugged in his power source to power the rocket.

"Check," Zane informs.

"How are we holding together?" Lloyd asks.

"Bubblegum and a wish," Cole replies.

"Let's go home, boys!" I cheer, and we lift off, quickly approaching Ninjago.

"Hold on, we're almost there," Cole yells.

"My power source has reached critical mass. It appears my unlimited energy is in fact limited." Zane yells, his body sparking.

"Critical mass? Like, it's gonna blow up?" Jay asks.

"Don't worry about me. I must use my power to hold our vessel together." Zane orders.

"No way, Zane. Entering the atmosphere means we have air!" I say.

"No, it means we're gonna burn up!" Jay snaps.

"Listen! With just enough air, we can now support our Elemental Shields. Let's try, guys!" I yell. We jump out of the rocket, just as we enter the atmosphere, the rocket burns up, and we use our elemental shields. Once we have enough air, I stop and start flying.

"I hate to bring this up now, but parachutes would've come in handy," Cole yells. Shit. I forgot about the guys.

"Friends and family make a good substitute," Kai replies.

"Coordinating catch. Be on the lookout. Kai, go for 56 degrees north, 12 east." Pixal says, and Kai lands in his Fighter. "Zane, you're next."

"Don't worry, I've got you." Zane lands in his Hover-Copter.

"Ninja, go!" Cole and Jay land in their mech and Lightning Offroader, respectively. Lloyd uses his Golden Cycle.

"Welcome home, Ninja." Sensei smiles.

"Brother, I can't remember the last time we fought together on the same team." Garmadon grins.

"I have the city in my sights," Zane says.

"City? That's not a city, that's an impenetrable fortress!" I snap, gazing at the wall of buildings neatly smashed together, to form a wall.

"Behind that wall, the Golden Master has the power of the First Spinjitzu Master." Garmadon solemnly replies.

"Ninja, if you get this message, I've managed to escape and have found refuge within the Temple of Fortitude here in the city." I land on Lloyd Golden Cycle, to see what Cyrus wanted.

"Temple of Fortitude? That was leftover from the Stone Wars. The Overlord used it as a stronghold against the power of the First Spinjitzu Master." Sensei informs.

"It has a sacred seal of protection that can resist the Golden Power. Very clever." Garmadon comments.

"If you can make it here alive, I think I have a device that could defeat him," Cyrus replies.

"Then we have to get to that Temple. Everyone, stay together. Kai. You, Nya, Zane, and Kaylee take the high road. We'll make our own road." We nod, then go

"Is that wall getting higher?" Nya asks.

"It's just like the Digiverse. His turf, his rules" Zane says.

"Well, we better go faster, because, at this rate, I'm going to fall!" I yell, speeding up, and getting in the city.

"The Temple's up ahead," Sensei informs.

"Two down and moving onwards to the-" Nya gets hit by another Nindroid.

"Nya's down! I repeat, Nya's down!" Kai yells.

"I'm going back for her!" Cole yells.

"No, I'll go back." Jay retorts.

"Go back, and our probability to make it to the Temple exponentially diminishes," Zane replies.

"This isn't about numbers, Zane. It's about family." I snap.

"Everyone else heads to the Temple, we'll go pick up Nya," Lloyd confirms.

"I've got her. She's on the corner of Bradley Boulevard and-" The guys get hit, knocking them off their vehicles. "And somewhere." I see the Overlord in front of them.

"I'll go get her. Shit." I turn around and see the white ugly snake. "Pythor. Oh, how I hated you."

"Is that any way to treat an old friend Kaylee?" Pythor simpers.

"Um, yes. Also, I'm not your friend. You literally betrayed my boyfriend, and that's a big no-no in my book." I get in a fighting stance. "And you threw me off a tall building."

"Lloyd and you got together?" Pythor looks at me. "Now, now, my interest is piqued."

"Well, I hope you like people kicking your butt." I charge, and we face each other, each punching, and in my case, blasting.

"Why don't Anacondrai have any weaknesses! I hate your kind!" I yell.

"Maybe I should teach you some manners hm? You could have battled for the correct side." Pythor retorts.

"Ah! I hate people who try to get me to switch sides!" I blast Pythor into a building, then start running to the temple, meeting up with Nya.

"Good day to hijack a vehicle isn't it?" I ask.

"Amazing day." Nya grins, and we arrive at the Temple, destroying some Nindroids. "Better late than never! Go get 'em, Ninja!" She cheers.

"Ninja, go!" We all yell, me joining them. We run toward the Overlord, in his new spider-web thing.

"Feels like old times, doesn't it?" Sensei asks Garmadon.

"Yes. It feels good." Garmadon replies, as a huge hand made of roof shingles crash over us. I throw up a shield, momentarily forgetting about the guys, but their new armor protects them.

"I don't believe it, the armor's working!" Cole cheers.

"Keep going! We have to take the heat off the Senseis!" Jay yells.

"What is going on!" I ask.

"So we're going to distract the Overlord from the Senseis and them they're going to hit a shrinking pill into his mouth, then done," Kai informs.

"Sounds easy. Probably will backfire disastrously." I nod. The Overlord starts throwing cars and pieces of building at the people, making them scream. They were out in the open, and with nothing to hide them.

"We have to save the people!" Lloyd yells.

"We have to get the Sensei's closer!" Kai retorts.

"I'll help the people. I don't have the armor, it would be unwise for me to continue with you." I jump off and start helping people. A Hypnobrai comes up from a manhole. "People of Ninjago, follow me!" He orders as the snakes help the people inside the manholes. I also help, before running into a building, to see what was going on.

"We won't need to. Ready to thread the needle, brother?" Garmadon asks.

"Let's show them what old timers can do." They hit the pill toward the Overlord, but Pythor swallows it instead. I really, really, hate that snake.

Pythor coughs. "Ah! What's happening to me?" He shrinks to the size of a doll. "No! He quickly slithers away as he's being chased by the Falcon.

"That was it? That was all you've got?" The Overlord mocks and his golden webbings grab everyone except Zane.

"The armor, why isn't it working?" Cole grunts. The golden string spun across them, squeezing them.

"Because your time is over!" The Overlord laughs.

"Support me, friends, for one last time." Zane jumps over to the Overlord and he lands on the armor. "Let my friends go!" He grunts, holding on the spikes over The Overlords ribcage.

"Go where doomed Ninja? The Golden Weapons are too powerful for you to behold. Your survival chance is low." The Overlord jeers.

"This isn't about numbers. It's about family." Zane gasps, as the golden strings turn green and the guys are being let go of, into the streets below. Let go Zane. You need to let go.

"He's not letting go!" Lloyd yells.

"His heart! It's reaching critical mass!" Jay screams.

"If his heart overloads, he'll blow! He'll never survive!" Cole gasps.

"Let go of him, Zane! What is he doing?" Kai angrily yells.

"He's protecting us," Sensei replies.

"I am a Nindroid, and Ninja never quit. Go, Ninja. Go!" Zane uses his Ice on the Golden Master.

"What are you doing? Let me go, you fool!" The Overlord yells as ice was flung everywhere. Everyone on the ground goes in a manhole.

"No! Zane stop it! Stop it!" I was flung back, by a blast of ice, and he was dead.

Zane. My first brother. My first best friend. The first person to interact with me after all those years alone with Sensei.

And now he was gone. Gone forever. Not like when they were missing from a mission, for I knew they'd always come back.

Because this time. Zane wouldn't be coming back. I drop to the ground with a pained scream, hot tears leaking down my face. Time seemed to slow down. Nothing mattered. Silver shot up everywhere. Zane couldn't be dead. I run down the stairs. No sigh of The Overlord, and most importantly, no sign of Zane.

"No. Please, give him back. I'll do anything. Just give him back." I start shaking, crying, falling to the ground. I was a complete mess.

(It's kinda like Wanda when Pietro died. I'll put in a gif.)

"Kaylee." Lloyd hugs me, as I sob in his arms. My brother. He couldn't live his amazing Nindroid life anymore. Couldn't get together with Pixal. Because he was gone. Gone forever. "I know. Just let it all out."

"The ground." I murmur, caressing the ice.

"Yeah?"

"It's just like when Zane froze the ground at the Monastery. You weren't there but, the ground was completely covered by it."

"I bet that was funny hm?" Lloyd stroked my hair softly/

"Yeah. it was."

~Time Skip~

We were heading on to Zane's memorial, and also his funeral.

"Pixal called. She's not going, but she was wondering if anyone wanted to watch the memorial with her in Borg Tower." Garmadon says, getting off of the phone. No one moved.

"I'll go. I just. Don't wanna believe his gone. I'll tell her hi." I start crying again, having another mental breakdown inside of my mind. I wipe away tears.

"You sure? I think going to Zane's funeral will have some kind of closure for his death." Nya replies.

"Yeah." I walk away, not before waving goodbye to the group. I break into a run for Borg Tower, getting in the elevator, and hitting the top button, before sliding down to the ground. Crying again, as I headed up the floors. The elevator dings and I step out.

"I thought you'd be the one to come." Pixal stares at the funeral, where not a lot, but a good amount of people were gathered.

"It's just hard to believe. Zane was basically my best friend, but before I reconciled with Lloyd, but... he's my big brother and my first brother." We share an embrace, before staring at the window. Someone uncovers a titanium statue of Zane, and it starts to snow.

"You are Zane, a droid like me. What does Zane stand for?" Pixal says. I run to the computers, following Pixal. That was the first thing Pixal said to Zane.

"I stand for peace, freedom, and courage." Zane's face was on the screen. I can't believe it. It's like his consciousness was in Borg Towers.

"Your hardware is outdated and your processor is slow and incompatible. Why are you so different?"

"We're all different, but I don't feel so different around you."

"Zane? Is that you?" Pixal asks, tearing up next to me.

"You are vital to me."

"You are vital to me. I shall see you again."

"I'm just Zane."

'I'll try to locate the source, you go down to the factory. I think he's building another body." I say, furiously typing on computers, before Zane's voice is heard again.

"I'll be your big brother. I pinky promise." I tear up again. That was when I was 7 and I was sad that I didn't have a big brother, although Zane and the others quickly filled it up. I smile, although tears were leaking down my face, I could see that a signal was running outside, that was exactly Zane's and how the videos of his memories were playing. Pixal runs out after him, but not too long after, both of their signals die out. No. I lost them. Just before Zane was coming back. I slide down, crying.

They were now both gone.

The number of times I spent crying while writing this chapter was ASTRONOMICAL! I'm sorry but, I think that was really sad, so please leave a comment telling me if you cried!
