Day of the Moon - Two
Hello!
My god a lost has been happening at the moment! I've been very busy ;)
I have officially released the first two chapters for my Sherlock fic which has been titled: 'Life's Miscalculation' and is the first book in the Distortion Series.
The first book in the Parallel Series has just been added to the official Wattpad fanfic Doctor Who reading list! That also means I get a snazzy sticker which is currently keeping its place on the cover of the first book in the series (Parallel: From Another World) (Isn't that super cool?!)
There is also one more surprise in store and more of this will be revealed as time goes on this week.
Anyways since there has been so much going on I have decided that there is no better way to celebrate this than to upload another chapter this week. After this chapter, there is a short chapter between our two favourite United Time Lords before we head onto a pirate ship with Curse of the Black Spot. Once again thank you so much for sticking with me throughout this series and thank you to those who have only just read the series and have caught up with everyone else

"It's an exoskeleton." River said after using her tricorder on the suit to scan it. "Basically, life support. There are about twenty different kinds of alien tech in here."
"Who was she?" The Doctor frowned. "Why put her in here?"
"You put this on, you don't even need to eat. The suit processes sunlight directly. It's got built-in weaponry, and a communications system that can hack into anything."
"Including the telephone network?" The Stone guessed picking up a wire and eyeing it before dropping it back down.
"Easily."
"But why phone the President?" The Doctor questioned.
"It defaults to the highest authority it can find." River explained. "The little girl gets frightened, the most powerful man on Earth gets a phone call. The night terrors with a hotline to the White House."
The Doctor shook his head before taking the TARDIS blue envelope out of his pocket and licking it, the Stone scrunched up her face at him before sighing and taking his hand gently squeezing it. She knew he was now suddenly worried about her given what they had discussed earlier.
"You won't learn anything from that envelope, you know." River said not even looking away from what she was doing, able to see them out of the corner of her eye.
"Purchased on earth." The Doctor said. "Perfectly ordinary stationery. TARDIS blue." He waved it around. "Summoned by a stranger who won't even show their face. That's a first, for me." The Stone nodded in agreement then looked at River with the Doctor. "How about you?"
"Our lives are back to front." She explained to them. "Your future's my past. Your firsts are my lasts."
"That's not really what we asked." The Doctor dryly replied.
"Ask something else, then." River countered
"What are the Silence doing, raising a child?" The Stone questioned raising one of her brows.
"Keeping her safe, even giving her independence." The blonde answered
"The only way to save Amy is to work out what the Silence are doing." The Doctor cut in.
"I know."
"And every single thing we learn about them brings us a step closer." The Time Lord added once more.
"Yeah, Doctor, I get it. I know."
"Of course," the Stone spoke up. "It's possible she's not just any little girl."
"Well, I'd say she's human, going by the life support software." River shrugged.
"But?" The Doctor added.
"She climbed out of this suit." She held up part of it. "Like she forced her way out. She must be incredibly strong."
"Incredibly strong and dangerous." He looked at his wife while shaking his head. "I don't like her."
"We should be trying to find her." River shot him a slightly annoyed look.
"Yes, I know." The Doctor nodded. "But how?"
"I have the strangest feeling she's going to find us." The Stone cut in watching the TV screen.
Rory then slowly walked up after staring at the nanorecorder in his hands for quite a while. "Why does it look like a NASA spacesuit?"
"Because that's what the Silence do." The Doctor replied.
"Think about it." The Stone cut in. "They don't make anything themselves. They don't have to. They get other life forms to do it for them."
"So they're parasites, then." Rory guessed.
"Superparasites, standing in the shadows of human history since the very beginning."
"We know they can influence human behaviour any way they want." The Stone added. "If they've been doing that on a global scale for thousands of years."
"Then what?"
"Then why did the human race suddenly decide to go to the Moon?" The Doctor slowly moved his eyes to look at the screen watching the countdown.
"Because the Silence needed a spacesuit." The Stone quietly said just before the rocket took off.
----------------------------------------------------------------
The Doctor grumbled for the third time not getting Rivers tricorder to work before the Stone sighed gently taking it out of his hands to try and get it working only to blink when a new message came through with the wounded silence on the floor of the prison room made in area 51. "You should kill us all on sight." It hissed.
"Help me, Doctor, Stone." Amy faintly sobbed.
"This suit, it seems to be repairing itself." River frowned seeing the glove of the suit twitch. "How's it doing that? Doctor, Stone, a unit like this, would it ever be able to move without an occupant?"
"Why?" The Doctor frowned.
"Well, the little girl said the spaceman was coming to eat her. Maybe that's exactly what happened."
"I love you." Amy faintly sobbed making the Time Lords slowly look over to Rory who sat on the floor his back against a crate holding the nanorecorder, staring at it. "I know you think it's him. I know you think it ought to be him, but it's not. It's you." The Doctor sighed squeezing the Stones hand as she shook her head, they both know she meant Rory but did he? "And when I see you again, I'm going to tell you properly, just to see your stupid face. My life was so boring before you just dropped out of the sky. So just get your stupid face where I can see it, okay? Okay?"
"She'll be safe for now." The Stone quietly said walking over to sit beside Rory. The Doctor beside her on the other side.
"No point in a dead hostage." The Doctor chuckled lightly only to suddenly stop when the Stone shot him a look.
"Can't you two save her?"
The Stone sighed slowly nodding. "We can track that signal back. Take us right to her."
"Then why haven't you?"
"Because then what?" The Doctor asked. "We find her and then what do we do? This isn't an alien invasion. They live here. This is their empire. This is kicking the Romans out of Rome."
"Rome fell." Rory frowned.
"We know." The Doctor nodded. "We were there."
"So was I."
"Personal question." The Doctor looked at Rory while the Stone raised a brow at the Doctor not even sure where he was going with this.
"Seriously, you?"
"Do you ever remember it?" He asked. "Two thousand years, waiting for Amy? The last Centurion."
"No."
"Rory." The Stone shook her head. "You're lying."
"Of course I'm lying."
"Of course you are." The Doctor nodded. "Not the sort of thing anyone forgets."
"But I don't remember it all the time." He admitted. "It's like this door in my head. I can keep it shut."
"Please, please, just come and get me." Amy continued to sob. "Come and get me."
----------------------------------------------------------------
"Where am I?" Amy questioned tied up on a diagonal table. "Where is this?"
"You are Amelia Pond." It hissed moving closer fo Amy.
"You're ugly." Amy countered. "Has anyone mentioned that to you?"
"We do you honour. You will bring the Silence. But your part will soon be over."
"Whatever that means, you've made a big mistake, bringing me here, because wait until you see what's coming for you now." She chuckled.
"You have been here many days."
"No, I just got here." Amy countered sounding slightly worried as the silence moved even closer. "You just put me in here."
"Your memory is weak." It hissed. "You have been here many days."
"No. No, I can't have been."
"You will sleep now. Sleep."
"No."
"Sleep."
"No!" Amy cried trying to move back even though she was on a table. "Get off me. No. No."
"Sleep."
"No!"
The Silence froze before it and the other Silence in the room turned to see the TARDIS materialise and the Time Lords step out, River behind them with a gun pointing at the Silence while Rory stayed by the TARDIS carefully watching
"Oh, interesting." The Doctor blinked. "Very Aickman Road. We've seen one of these before. Abandoned. I wonder how that happened? Oh, well I suppose we're about to find out."
"Rory, River, keep one Silent in eyeshot at all times." The Stone said turning to them before turning back jokingly mocking the silence. "Oh, hello. Sorry, you were in the middle of something."
"I just have to say, though, have you seen what's on the telly?" The Doctor asked carrying a small television, the Stone helped him as they went placing it down on a table in front of Amy. "Oh, hello, Amy. Are you all right? Want to watch some television?"
The Silence went to approach but stopped at the Time Ladys words: "Ah. Now, stay where you are." The Stone warned moving her eyes to look at the Silence she could sense in the corner of her eye.
"Because look at us!" The Doctor grinned wrapping an arm around the Stones waist as they turned back around. "We're confident. You want to watch that, us when we're confident."
"Oh, and this is our friend or really just my friend River." The Stone waved an arm over at the woman. "Curly hair slightly clever and doesn't seem to really be liked by the Doctor that much, I honestly try to ignore them arguing."
"Has her own gun." The Doctor grumbled. "and unlike us." He gestured to himself and the Stone. "She really doesn't mind shooting people. I don't like that, especially around my wife."
"It's not that bad." The Stone rolled her eyes at him.
"Thank you, sister." River nodded at the Time Lady.
"I know you're team players and everything, but she'll definitely kill at least the first three of you." The Doctor warned.
"Oh, now you're encouraging her." The Stone snorted.
"Right now they're worse than her."
"Well, the first seven, easily." River shrugged at them.
"Seven?" The Stone raised a brow. "Really?"
"Oh, eight for you, sister."
"Stop it." She rolled her eyes. "That's just showing off."
"Make me."
"She might in a moment." The Doctor muttered.
"Is this really important arguing and banter?" Amy looked between the three of them. "Because I feel like I should be higher on the list right now."
"That is true." The Stone nodded.
"Yes. Right. Sorry." The Doctor apologised. "As I was saying, the Stones rude friend here is going to kill the first three of you to attack which I'm actually perfectly fine with since my wife is here and we'll possibly be worse off if River wasn't here."
"Don't forget the one behind sweetheart." The Stone hummed.
"Ah yes." He nodded. "Plus him behind, so maybe you want to draw lots or have a quiz."
"What have they got?" Amy whispered to Rory who had managed to move around the Silence while the Time Lords distracted them with their words.
"Something, I hope."
"Or maybe you could just listen a minute." The Stone questioned. "Because all I really want to do is accept your total surrender and then I'll make sure the Doctor lets you go in peace." She explained. "Sadly he isn't as forgiving as me right now which honestly is acceptable with some personal issues and such." She explained. "Yes, you've been interfering in human history for thousands of years. Yes, people have suffered and died, but what's the point in two hearts, if you can't be a bit forgiving, now and then?"
There was no reply.
"Ooo, the Silence." The Doctor joked stepping forward slightly, looking right at one of them. "You guys take that seriously, don't you?" He then sighed a little. "Okay, you got her."
"Yes, I am lying." She rolled her eyes.
"We're not really going to let you go that easily." The Doctor stated. "Nice thought, but it's not Christmas. First, you tell us about the girl. Who is she? Why is she important? What's she for?"
They waited for an answer as the Silence continued to stare at them in well, silence. "Guys, sorry, but you're way out of time." The Doctor chuckled moving back to join the Stone beside the TV. "Now, come on. A bit of history for you. Aren't you proud? Because you helped." He pulled the TV antennas out. "Now, do you know how many people are watching this live on the telly? Half a billion. And that's nothing because the human race will spread out among the stars. You just watch them fly. Billions and billions of them, for billions and billions of years, and every single one of them at some point in their lives will look back at this man,"
"Taking that very first step, and they will never, ever forget it."
"Okay, engine stop." The man on the screen said. "ATA on the descent. Modes control both auto. Descent engine commands off."
The Doctor then took put the device from before dialling. "Oh. But don't forget this bit." He grinned holding the phone to his ear. "Ready?"
"That's one small step for a man..."
The screen flickered before showing the recording of the wounded Silence on the floor of the prison made for the Time Lords in area 51. "You should kill us all on sight. You should kill us all on sight." It hissed looking right at the camera. "You should kill us all on sight. You should kill us all on sight."
"You've given the order for your own execution, and the whole planet just heard you." The Stone chuckled.
"You should kill us all on sight."
"...One giant leap for mankind."
"And one whacking great kick up the backside for the Silence!" The Doctor exclaimed. "You just raised an army against yourself and now, for a thousand generations, you're going to be ordering them to destroy you every day."
"How fast can you run?" The Stone questioned. "Because today's the day the human race throw you off their planet. They won't even know they're doing it."
"I think, quite possibly, the word you're looking for right now is oops." The Doctor quickly grabbed the Stones hand holding it tightly as she nervously swallowed slowly backing up, seeing the Silence growing angry, the electricity starting to become visible. "Run!"
"Guys, he means us!" The Stone shouted. "Run."
The Silence started to began their attack as River started to shoot at them all. The Stone and the Doctor backing up towards the TARDIS side by side. "Go!" He shouted trying to get her to go inside after he unlocked the door.
"And leave you?" She questioned gripping his hand even tighter. "No chance sweetheart."
"I can't get her out!" Rory shouted to them.
"Go. Go!" Amy protested.
"We are not leaving without you."
"Look, will you just get your stupid face out of here." Suddenly Rory froze staring at her while Amy slightly frowned before blinking guessing what was wrong.
"Run!" River cried still shooting. "Into the TARDIS, quickly."
The Doctor and the Stone managed to duck and move through the room without getting shot at before stopping beside Amy and Rory. The Doctor looked between them grinning as he and the Stone freed Amy. With Rory's help, Amy jumped off the table and ran towards and inside the TARDIS with him. The Stone groaned as the Doctor started to wave his sonic screwdriver around as if he was helping.
"Don't let them build to full power!" The Doctor reminded.
"I know!" River countered. There's a reason why I'm shooting. Stone, what is he doing?"
"Helping." The Doctor protested still waving his screwdriver around.
"You've got a screwdriver. Go build a cabinet." River countered.
"That's really rude!"
"Like you care!" The Stone grumbled grabbing his hand again. "Come on!"
"Teach him how to drive!" She shouted as they both ran inside the TARDIS.
"Stone?" The Doctor instantly grabbed her shoulders making sure she was okay. He really wanted to send her off to the med bay but they still had to tell Nixon that they stopped the Silence, as soon as this was finished she would be heading straight there. He was worried about her. Deeply worried.
"I'm okay." She slowly nodded slightly panting. "You?"
"Scared." He whispered pulling her closer, their foreheads touching, leaning on each other for support.
"I know sweetheart." She whispered. "I know."
Suddenly River came bursting through Rory slowly following making the Doctor and the Stone force themselves to return on task, moving around the console and each other without even worryingly about where the other was as they moved easily dodging each other.
----------------------------------------------------------------
"So we're safe again," Nixon said after the Time Lords, mostly the Stone knowing the Doctor would blurt something out.
"Safe?" The Doctor snorted before quieting after getting hit back on the head by the Stone.
"There's a lot of creatures out there Nixon." She softly answered. "But yes you're safe."
"Canton." The Doctor nodded over at the man. "Until the next one, eh?"
"Looking forward to it."
"Canton just wants to get married." The Doctor explained to Nixon. "Hell of a reason to kick him out of the FBI."
"I'm sure something can be arranged," Nixon said with a smile.
"I'm counting on you." The Doctor nodded and turned around with the Stone.
"Er, Doctor, Stone." He said making them both turn back around. "Canton here tells me you're, you're from the future. It hardly seems possible, but I was wondering-"
"I should warn you we don't answer a lot of questions."
"But I'm a President at the beginning of his time." He protested against the Doctors words. "Dare I ask. Will I be remembered?"
"Oh, Dicky. Tricky Dicky." The Doctor shook his head. "They're never going to forget you. Say hi to David Frost for me." He called back before entering the TARDIS with the others.
----------------------------------------------------------------
"You could come with us." The Stone shrugged making the Doctor scowl at the thought before lightly getting jabbed in the ribs by the Time Lady, instantly making him straighten up and force a smile.
"I escape often enough, thank you." River nodded. "And I have a promise to live up to. You'll understand soon enough."
"Okay. Up to you." The Doctor nodded waving back seeming slightly happy with himself before getting yanked back by the collar of his shirt by the Stone.
"We'll see you next time." The Stone softly smiled at the woman as the Doctor nodded. "Call us if you need anything."
"I don't think River has actually properly called us before." The Doctor hummed. "It's always been through black boxes and stuff like that.
"Well," the Stone shrugged linking her arm with his before nodding at River. "There's a first time for everything."
Nodding silently the Time Lords entered the TARDIS.
"And a last time." River quietly sighed watching the TARDIS dematerialise, wishing that the Doctor trusted her more than he currently did. She really did wonder how she managed to convince him in his future at times. He just constantly thought she was dangerous.
"Rory, I'm going to need thermocouplings." The Doctor said to the Nurse as the Time Lords headed towards the console. "The green ones and blue ones."
"Okay, hold on." He called heading to go under the console.
"So."
"So." Amy repeated.
"You're okay?" The Stone curiously asked.
"Fine." She nodded. "Head's a bit weird. There's loads of stuff I can't quite remember."
"Aftereffect of the Silence. Natural enough." The Doctor explained. "That's not what the Stone meant though. You told us you were pregnant."
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I was-" she then sighed shaking her head as she corrected herself. "I mean, I thought I was. It turns out I wasn't."
"No, why did you tell us?"
"Because you're my friends." She looked between them. You're my best friend."
"The Stone I can understand..." the Doctor said looking at the Time Lady who blinked. "Well, you are a Time Lady." He raised a brow at her watching her for a moment until she then nodded understanding what he meant. "But Amy." He brought his attention back to the human woman. "Did you tell Rory?"
"No."
"Amy, why tell us and not Rory?"
"Why do you think?" She looked between them. "I travelled with you two in this TARDIS for so long. All that time. If I was pregnant for some of it, wouldn't it have had an effect?"
"An effect." The Stone repeated really not following.
"I don't want to tell Rory his baby might have three heads or, like, a time head, or something."
"What's a time head?" The Doctor questioned.
"I don't know." She groaned. "But what if it had one?"
"A time head." The Stone snorted as the Doctor chuckled.
"Shut up." She shot them both slightly annoyed looks. "Oi, stupid face." Amy then suddenly called looking at where Rory had gone.
"Er, yeah?" He slowly replied walking back up. "Hello."
"I'm taking that away from you if you're going to listen in all the time." She warned.
"Okay, that's a fair point." He pocketed the nanorecorder. "But you should've told me that you thought you were pregnant. I'm a nurse. I'm good with pregnancy."
"Not, as it turns out, that good." She chuckles. "So please stop being stupid."
"Er, no, never." He protested. "I'm never, ever, going to stop being stupid."
"So, this little girl. It's all about her." The Doctor questioned, turning the conversation back onto the subject at hand. "Who was she? Or we could just go off and have some adventures." He said his eyes then flickered to the Stone. "After we've had something to eat..." he slowly said before looking back at the humans. "I'm starved." The Doctor clapped his hands together, his eyes lingering on his wife for a moment before he dragged them away from her. "Anyways," he looked at Amy and Rory. "Anyone in the mood for adventures? Because I am. You only live once." He then watched the scanner doing a full body scan on Amy as it switched between positive and negative.
