Ch 101
I'm just gonna go ahead and put you all on this song. It's amazing, give it a listen I promise it's worth it.
Also, if you didn't see, I published an art book. If you'd like to see older art pieces all in one place, or even new pieces that you won't find in any of my stories, head over there.

Fawn's POV
The radio station is quite lively today, reporters bustling around and the sound of typewriters clicking away.
The scent of coffee surrounded me, the sound of Julie and Niffty playing eye-spy being the background noise to my morning.
I was sat at Al's desk in his lap, going over his reports with him and helping him edit them.
His hand was rested on my waist, idly rubbing circles against the fabric of my blouse. The soft tune that he was humming was upbeat and chipper. Something is up with him today.
All morning he's been more peppy than usual, bouncing around and being extra sweet to me.
A kiss against my cheek caught me off guard, taking my attention away from the paragraph I was analyzing.
Before I could do anything, two strong arms squeezed me around the middle and he buried his nose into my neck, sighing contently.
I blushed slightly, smiling a bit sheepishly as he was just openly doing this in front of Niffty and Julie.
One glance at them told me they were preoccupied with their game, but still.
"What's this all about?" I asked softly, reaching up to run my fingers through his hair, twirling a piece gently.
He kissed my neck chastely, and pulled back to look at me as I turned as much as I could to look at him.
"What, a man can't love his wife?"
I snorted softly, rolling my eyes.
"I'm still your fiancée, you silly man. We should probably start planning our wedding, by the way," I reminded him, and it was his turn to roll his eyes.
"Oh, you are my wife...by every meaning of the word. However, you're right," he sighed, relenting. The smile on his face told me he's not as disgruntled about this as he was putting off.
I smiled and laid back against him slightly, looking up at the ceiling as visions of a beautiful wedding swam in my mind...a beautiful wedding, with a wonderful groom and our little Julie tossing petals down the isle as I walk towards my forever.
My paradise.
Oh, I can't wait.
"I think...we should do a garden wedding...you know there's a lovely little venue that I've been looking at recently, and they have the prettiest flowers. I'm sure they could fix that up for us..." I suggested softly, one of my hands lifted to caress his cheek.
Now that the crash has mostly passed, businesses are finally starting to get back on their feet. The streets are less drab, but I know the energy will never fully return to this place. Not for a long time.
He drew in a deep breath, and then sighed thoughtfully. Another kiss was placed upon my cheek and he whispered by my ear.
"Just say it and it's yours..."
Despite the innocent nature of the words, my face lit up like a firecracker, and I scoffed, covering my cheeks with my hands.
"Oh, Alastor quit that!" I hissed and he chuckled loudly, leaning back in his chair. I tried to escape and he held me tightly, still laughing.
"Noooo no no, you're not going anywhere, my dear!" He laughed out, beginning to tickle my sides. My eyes widened and I busted out laughing completely against my will, squealing as I tried to pry myself away from this monster.
"My god, release me you vile fiend!" I giggled, trying desperately to escape.
Suddenly, there was a childlike dinosaur roar and a new weight was added to our pile.
"Julie no! Help your mama!" I called out, nearly pissing myself at this point.
The spoiled little chicken nugget started helping her daddy instead, straddling my lap as best as she could and tickling me with him.
He laughed out obnoxiously, commending our demon of a child for helping him harass me.
"You traitor!" I wheezed out, squirming and giggling, "I birthed you!"
"Anarchy!" She squealed, and that only made me laugh harder, because who the hell taught her that word?
Finally after lot of squirming and begging my family showed mercy on me, Julie laughing as she sat on me.
Her and Alastor high-fived and I almost elbowed him in the ribs.
"Ha! We got you mama, daddy got you!" She giggled and I was hardly able to stay annoyed after that.
My pout lifted and I smiled up at her. She's my little mini me, and people tell us all the time how much she shares my features. Her brown hair and multicolored eyes are our only contrast, really.
Sighing, I put my arms around her and lifted her as I stood up, holding her.
"Yup, you and daddy really got me. You both almost got covered in pee," I said and she made a disgusted face.
"Oh, yuck mama!" She stuck out her tongue and I scoffed.
"It would've been your own fault!" I reminded her, and Niffty was currently stifling her laughter by the door.
I let Julie down, and Al came up beside me, taking my hand in his.
"Five minutes!" Niffty piped up, and Julie hopped up and down while clapping excitedly before rushing out of the room.
All we heard was "radio time!" echo down the hallway, and Al snickered next to me.
We all began to exit, turning off the light and leaving the office.
Looking over at him, I had to stifle a laugh.
"Radio time," I said to him and he nodded.
"Radio time."

The studio is winding down, my favorite part of every day. The quiet is so tranquil, and the ambiance is unmatched.
Al was gathering up his paperwork, humming softly as Juliette helped him while also humming the same song. She would glance up at him every once in a while, a little smile on her face.
I smiled softly and left the office to go wait towards the front of the building. The light always looks so pretty coming through the windows this time of day.
As I got to the front office, I could faintly hear what sounded like arguing. My brows furrowed and I curiously wondered towards the source of the peculiar noise.
The sight that awaited me was far from what I expected, nor was it anything I wanted to see.
Tom was out front, Niffty in front of him. She was crying, and they were both gesturing wildly as they argued about something. I couldn't hear anything specific, but Tom looked...desperate? Angry?
Niffty had tears running down her face, and I was about to go outside and see what was happening when he suddenly grabbed her by the arm and basically dragged her to his car, forcing her into it before he got in, and sped off just as I was hurrying outside.
The expression on my face was disturbed, and I watched the car until it disappeared.
What was that all about...Niffty wasn't even finished with her cleaning, and that's very uncharacteristic of her...
I'm not sure how long I stayed there, looking into the distance, but I did jump when something touched my shoulders.
"Whoa, darling...it's just me," Al chuckled and rounded me, smiling at me briefly before it faded a bit and he tilted his head.
"Is something the matter? What's that look on your face for?"
I opened my mouth, about to tell him of the strange event, but then I paused.
He's been so happy all day...there's rarely a day he isn't the least bit stressed, and I love seeing him enjoy himself.
Perhaps I'll tell him later...yea, I'll tell him later. He deserves to be in whatever mood this is, and he doesn't even look tired today.
Shaking my head and closing my mouth to give him a smile, I answered.
"Nothing, hon. I just thought I saw something strange, so I came to investigate and it turned out to be nothing," I told a white lie, and he examined me with his eyes, weighing the truth of my story.
Then he smiled brightly again, "oh, silly! Don't upset yourself over nothing, my dear. Now, are you ready to head home, I have a little surprise for you."
I perked up, a shot of excitement shooting through my heart. A surprise? Is that why he's been so happy?
"Really?" I asked him, a bright smile upon my face. He cupped my cheek and kissed me, making it publicly appropriate, but also somehow passionate.
When he retreated he chuckled, "why, of course! You know I spoil you...both of you," he smirked down at a lingering, spying Juliette.
She squealed when he reached down and captured her, squirming against him. I giggled at the sight of him picking our 8 year old up like she weighed the same as a feather.
He slung her across his back like a monkey and she attached happily, hugging around his neck as he held her legs.
We then began to walk, heading towards our hidden house in the woods.
**
The door opened and closed, locking behind us. Al sighed, letting Julie off his back.
I looked towards her, "ok, young lady. Straight upstairs, shower and then homework. You know me-me doesn't like when you're slacking on your studies," I said, my tone motherly.
Sometimes I wonder how that happened. One day I'm barely an adult, still learning to file my taxes and barely scraping by in an apartment left to me by my dead mother, the next I'm a mother myself...decades in the past, nearly married to a serial killer.
That is so strange to think about.
My head shook away the thoughts, and Julie obediently trotted up the stairs with a "yes ma'am!" as she went.
I smiled as she disappeared around the upper corner, then looked back to Alastor, my eyes gleaming.
He knew exactly what I wanted, and snickered as he came up to me, capturing my hands before beginning to lead me in a slow dance.
"Ah yes...your surprise...hmm..." he twirled me, and then pulled me back into his chest.
"It seems it's slipped my mind...maybe a kiss might restore my—"
My lips were on his before he even finished speaking. I grabbed his face and kissed him like it was the first time. Being with him so long, I've learned a few of his tactics.
The man is in his 30s now and he hasn't changed a bit.
When I released him, he looked hilariously surprised, blinking twice. Then, his cheeks began to turn scarlet, and I smirked at him.
My hips swayed as I wrapped my arms up around his neck, and I drew closer to his lips once more.
"Spill it."
I whispered and then pulled back with an innocent smile, and he had to swallow and father himself before he could answer.
God, what a handsome dork. My handsome dork.
After a second his smile returned as if nothing happened, thought the remnants of his surprise dusted his cheeks in a dark blush.
"Well, darling...I was thinking it's been quite a while since you and I had a night to ourselves..."
He tucked my hair behind my ear, and drew his fingers down my face, making my breath catch as I caught on to what he meant.
"Oh? It has...so what have you planned," I poked him in the chest, getting more excited by the second.
He looked up, still dancing with me, "ohhhh...just reservations at Maison Lacour..."
My eyes nearly popped out of my skull. No way, he didn't! Just based on the shit eating smile on his smug face, I'd wager he did.
"Al!" I squeaked, and then jumped onto him in a huge hug.
I told him I wanted to go here years ago, but that was during the crash and our money did get a bit tight...we were still comfortable, but needless spending was avoided.
My lips landed on his in a tender kiss and I giggled against his lips. He held me tightly, hugging me around the waist and picking me up off the ground.
Oh gosh...never have I felt this happy. He remembered something so minuscule, and I just feel unbelievably loved.
For the next couple of hours, I was getting ready. Julie was happy to hear that she'd be going to spend the night with Me-Me, and eagerly waited.
Hell, I think the girl was more excited than me to leave the house.
When it was finally time to head out, I met Al at the bottom of the steps, and his attire made me blush.
Wow...
A brand new red suit, silky fabric that was decorated with lighter pinstripes to accentuate. It made him look even thinner than he already is.
Under was a bright red statement dress shirt, and I now understood why my outfit was carnation red. He insisted.
The lapels were matte black, a perfect white trim framing them. All tied together with his monocle and a black silk bow tie.
He held up his hand, and I took it, still blushing.
"You look dashing, my love..." I said to him, patting his chest where his heart is.
He covered my hand.
"And you look ravishing...delicious even..." he leaned towards me and purred, and I lit up in a flustered blush.
"Alastor!" I hissed, giggling slightly as I pushed him back playfully.
Then there was a tug against my dress.
"Mooom, daddy stop being gross and let's go!" Julie whined.
Both Al and I began to snicker and I grabbed her hand, my purse, and then we headed to the door.
Lights were turned off, and the door was locked after we closed it.
