Chapter 25 - Time to Repent
Erin dashed through the keep, dodging people and ignoring the mumbles of confusion and panic. Liam wasn't anywhere so Erin headed to the one place she knew he would claim sanctuary. Up the stairs she ran, finding it much easier to run in pants than the dresses she had been wearing here. Her hair was coming loose with rogue strands flying behind, surely making her look crazed.
Finally she reached Liam's bedchamber door. Lifting her fist, Erin forced a few deep breaths then knocked softly. A crashing sound made her worry he had gotten hurt so she shoved open the heavy oak door without an invitation. She found Liam crouched on the floor leaning on the side of his bed with his face buried in his hands.
She did this.
She still broke his heart even though that was the very thing she was trying not to do. Erin quietly closed the door behind her then softly padded across the room to squat into a kneel in front of him. That's when she saw the empty jug of ale beside his hip. The pungent odor of the strong brew filled the area around him.
He was drunk.
"Liam," Erin started, reaching out for his hand, touching it gently.
He looked up quickly those jade eyes going wide. "Erin?"
"Yeah, it's me," She smiled warmly earning a lazy, lopsided smile.
What was once a light layer of stubble on his chiseled face was now thicker, more like the beginnings of an untamed beard. It made him appear more rugged than usual, only adding to his handsomeness. How she had missed him yet it had barely been two days.
"Why did you come back?" Liam asked as he sat up to sit on the bed, gently tugging Erin to come with him.
"It was actually Rory," She shrugged, scooting up closer to him between his strong legs. "He talked some sense into me and offered to escort us back. Then we heard Kennedy with Alice, my maid while we were at the castle. He is after you I think to kill you...to get to me."
"And...you came to warn me?" Liam asked, partially amused and partially very happy.
"Yes."
"Why?"
Erin licked her lips and swallowed, letting her eyes flick to Liam's lips before answering. "Isn't it obvious?"
He shook his head. "No."
She sighed then answered, "I do care for you."
"Then why did you lie to me?" Liam shifted to be facing Erin more.
"I...didn't lie to you," Erin replied, her brows furrowed. "I said I can't lie and say I don't care for you. I said I didn't want to marry you and then disappear back to my time leaving you heartbroken. It seems that is still what happened."
"So what now?" Liam was still stiff and defensive. Erin noticed. She had to get him to relax.
Then she began to sing from another favorite musical to express what was on her heart. No IPod, no orchestra, just her, raw and honest.
"Kiss me too fiercely, hold me too tight
I need help believing, you're with me tonight.
My wildest dreamings could not foresee
Lying beside you with you wanting me
Just for this moment, as long as you're mine
I've lost all resistance and crossed some borderline
And if it turns out
It's over too fast, I'll make every last moment last
As long as you're mine"
Erin ran her palms up and down Liam's chest as she sang the verse, her eyes locked on his, roaming his features, wanting to cast everything to memory in case any moment was their last.
Maybe I'm brainless, maybe I'm wise
But you've got me seeing through different eyes
Somehow I've fallen under your spell
And somehow I'm feeling it's up that I fell
Erin gently leaned Liam back and lay next to him, her leg draped over his waist as she slowly unbuttoned his shirt.
Every moment, as long as you're mine
I'll wake up my body and make up for lost time
Say there's no future for us as a pair
And though I may know, I don't care
Pressing her forehead to his cheek, Erin fought tears.
Just for this moment as long as you're mine
Come be how you want to and see how bright we shine
Borrow the moonlight until it is through
And know I'll be here holding you
As long as you're mine."
"So what are you saying, Erin?" Liam asked, his voice just barely a whisper but husky. He had to hear the words clearly from her.
Erin sat up, trapping her bottom lip between her teeth as she eased each leg of his out then swung a leg over his hips so she straddled him.
"I'm saying...ask me again."
"Erin, will you marry me?" Liam's hands wandered up her thighs to settle on her hips.
"Yes," was her simple reply before leaning down, capturing his lips with hers.
Liam sighed against her lips as if a great weight had been lifted. They eagerly kissed each other, tongues plundering and wrestling for dominance. When Erin pulled back from their heated kiss, she sat up and unclipped her cloak letting it sling beside her then began slowly untying her tunic. Liam watched hungrily letting his hands wander over her hips to unbuckle her belt.
"Tell me about these songs you sing," Liam asked, his voice husky as he tugged at her breeches.
"You're asking me now?" Erin quirked an eyebrow, teasing him as she let her tunic fall open.
"Answer me later," Liam growled, grinning at her as his mouth went to one of her breasts. Erin threw her head back and groaned, fingers raking through his hair to pull him closer.
Pushing off her tunic, Liam ran his fingertips gently up and down her bare back, eliciting a soft moan from Erin. He tugged at her hair until it completely fell loose in a curly cascade down her back. Diving his fingers to rake though the locks, Erin's eyes rolled closed accompanied by a deep groan relieved and pleased he touched her hair.
Liam stood then flipped them over onto the bed, hovering over Erin, taking the other plump sister globe into his mouth. Erin tugged at his shirt, desperate to feel his skin on hers again. The pressure and need to be one with Liam began building in her belly.
"Ahh, Liam..." Erin moaned.
Liam gazed up at her and smirked. He kissed his way down from the valley of her breasts to her belly button as he tugged at her pants. Erin lifted her hips to assist and was rewarded with her pants joining other items on the floor then Liam's hot mouth worked wonders on her throbbing core.
Gripping his hair, Erin pulled him closer with one hand, the other grabbing at the sheets above her head. His newly growing beard gave extra pleasurable sensations as his mouth teased her then he added a finger. That undid the tension, shattering under his attentions.
Before Erin could completely come down from her release, Liam was atop her again but his pants had disappeared. Erin grinned at him, widely opening her arms and legs in welcome. Liam smiled down at her as he settled between her legs but his eyes were locked only on hers.
Just as Liam was about to meet his lips with hers again, Erin cupped his cheeks to stop him. His brow furrowed adorably in confusion but Erin just smiled up at him.
"I love the way you look at me," Erin told him softly, her thumb gently stroking his facial hair. "I love the way you hold me and...I love you, Liam."
The grin that spread across his face warmed Erin deep in places she never thought could be reached. Places locked far away from being bruised, beaten and devalued anymore. Now they had been excavated, honored and shown their true value. He placed a gentle, loving kiss on her lips then pulled back to meet her eyes again.
"I love the way you melted my heart of ice," He replied, rubbing the tip of her nose with his. "I love the feel of you in my arms and I love you, too."
"I will love you until we are separated. No matter what the reason," Erin added. She slid her arms from his cheeks to his neck then shoulders to finally drape over his back.
"I want to marry you and make love to you every night while you sing my name," Liam smirked as he pushed himself into her core.
"That is an easy goal, ahh!" Erin chuckled then moaned as he stretched and filled her depths in slow, firm strokes. "I'm always singing...ahhh! I even have a bumper sticker...that says...Caution! Driver Singing!" She laughed at her own nerdiness and bit her lower lip, a slight blush tinting her cheeks.
"I'll never tire of it," Liam chuckled as he leaned down, kissed her deeply and began to slowly grind his hips, groaning against her lips.
Meeting her hips with his, their soft moans and rapid breathing mixed as their pace steadily quickened. Erin raked her nails along Liam's back, making it arch and allow him to plunge deeper.
With a signal from Erin wrapping her legs tighter, they rolled over so Erin straddled him. She began grinding hard and slow. Her head rolling back making her hair flow behind her then billow forward as she sped up. Liam writhed beneath her, meeting her hips with great force.
Liam sat himself up wrapping his arms tightly around Erin's waist, pulling her deeper onto him. Sweat lightly beaded on their bodies as both felt their peaks building. Flipping Erin onto her back, Liam stayed on his knees as he plunged. The sight of her breasts bouncing, honey brown hair spread around her head like a halo drove him on. He ran a hand appreciatively down her body from her neck, over her breasts and stomach, pausing where their bodies heatedly joined. With the pad of his thumb, Liam added pressure to her throbbing bud, tossing Erin over the edge of release.
Erin's back arched as she cried out in pleasure, legs gripping Liam's hips tighter. The feel of her clenching walls brought him tumbling into release. Liam let out a guttural groan as he filled her.
Collapsing beside her, Liam draped an arm over Erin's waist pulling her against him. Their sweat coated bodies intertwined as they caught their breaths.
"Now," Liam breathed heavily still but kissed Erin's temple drawing a wide smile from her lips. "Tell me about this music you know."
"Oh, which one?" Erin asked, drawing lazy circles on Liam's chest.
"Start with the one from the feast. It was mesmerizing."
"That one is from a musical called The Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom is trying to seduce Christine so she will fall in love with him and fill his lonely life."
Liam lay back rolling up at the ceiling mulling that over. "That is very ironic."
"How so?" Erin turned on her side to peer at him. Even his profile was handsome.
"You seduced me that night and filled my lonely life." He grinned at her but is was mischievous.
Erin narrowed her eyes then flipped to straddle him, her hands going to his sides and tickling him. "I did not seduce you! You seduced me! I just gave in..."
She stopped for a moment glaring intensely, pausing long enough for Liam to grab her wrists and flip them back over so he was again on top.
"It doesn't matter," He whispered, cupping her cheek with his hand. "For here you are, in my arms exactly where you belong."
"That's the other song," Erin continued. "As Long As You're Mine, from another musical called Wicked. Two people after years of battling their feelings finally give in and promise to make every moment they have together last even if it's not for long."
"What happens to them? Do they live happily?" Liam asked, kissing her neck in attempt to arouse her again.
Erin stiffened even though she tilted her head for him and ran her fingers through his hair.
"He dies," She answers quietly, barely over a whisper.
This makes Liam pause and lean up to meet her eyes again. "Do they give in and make love?"
"Not in the musical," Erin giggled. "In the book it's based on, oh yeah!" She laughed more. "So much and so passionately that the henna tattoos on his body, he has them all over his body but specifically the ones near his pelvis, transfer to hers in her...pelvic area..."
Liam grinned and growled as he buried his face into her neck again, kissing that spot feverishly. "Perhaps...I should get some of these henna tattoos and we can test the accuracy of this book."
Erin's laughter turned to moans of pleasure soon after as Liam thrusted into her depths again.
They made the most of their own time together throughout the night, napping in between and each taking a turn to wake the other up in some form of teasing that led to the pleasure of release.
As the song said, they woke up their bodies and did indeed make up for lost time.
Sleeping in is amazing! Aww, they made up! Are you glad?
