Just imagine

"Worlds"

A series (all in one Wattpad book) adapted from Porter Robinson's album Worlds, with each song represented by a short story (anywhere from 10,000-50,000 words each depending on how that goes). It'd be kinda like Gravity Rises, except an original story and a more reliable updating schedule.

(Well, hopefully on that last part. If this does happen, it'll happen while I'm in college, and who knows what my schedule will be like then.)

BUT DOESN'T THAT SOUND LIKE SUCH A GOOD IDEA

I already have some ideas for the short stories and the overall arc. I'd do all the strategies that make a book more likely to be popular (writing really well, having a good cover (adapted from the album cover of course), putting it all in one book, updating at the right times and at steady intervals), and I think I would actually have a chance of finally making it into the 100K+ reads.

(Although Gravity Rises Season One is getting reALly close so that's super exciting!)

I'd post it in Science Fiction, not Fanfiction, since it would be my own story (even though it would be modeled off of Worlds and with Porter Robinson songs posted like every chapter), and that mixture of original story with familiar artist also seems like good marketability. 

So what's my story idea, anyway?

Well, I've already come up with this plot twist idea so I don't wanna give too much away in case (*cough* when, hopefully *cough*) you guys read this if/when I write it. But so far I think I'll have eight central characters, each with a song to themselves, that spend the first nine songs of the album coming together to save the world, and then the last three songs would be the actual world-saving part. I'd set it in this deep sci fi world with different worlds/locations with varying levels of technology and society. The main character would be Amy or Aimee or Amia Milligan (some kind of play off of Amy Millan, the singer in Divinity), and there would be I think six girls (from Divinity, Years of War, Flicker, Fresh Static Snow, Hear the Bells, and Natural Light) and two guys (from Polygon Dust and Lionhearted). The robot from Sad Machine would be like the mentor lady who gives them their quest. The singer in Sea of Voices might be the villain, I'm not sure yet. Amy would probably sing Fellow Feeling, and the robot would probably sing Goodbye to a World.

I really hope that I still like it once I'm done with Gravity Rises because it's the perfect project to dedicate my time too while I'm in college, writing sci fi, and trying to transition back to original fiction without losing my fanfiction fans.
