Chapter 14: Oshus, Please
(1477 words)
(y/n)'s POV
Waking up, I looked around the room I was in. I could hear the waves lap against the sides of the ship. Turning to my right, Linebeck was sleeping soundly. Facing me, I could see his chest rise and fall with each breath. Smiling gently, I sat up enough to reach his forehead. Kissing it gently I sat up and let my feet hang over the edge.
Feeling the bed move, arms wrapped around me. I was pulled back. Looking up, I found Linebeck resting his head on my shoulders. He had laced his fingers together on my stomach, resting my left hand on his, I touched his face with the other.
"What is it?" I asked as he held me there. Pulling me closer to him, he sighed deeply. "Stay in bed with me a little longer" he said. Nodding I laid back down again. This time he laid down with me and rested his head on me. Smiling gently I played with his hair.
His arms wrapped around my body as i let my hands rest on his arms. Sitting up I looked at him. "What's wrong, honey?" I asked as I got him to look up at me. He sighed gently. "What happens after we fight Bellum and everything goes back to normal?"
"What do you mean what's going to happen? Everything will be the way it should be, you can go back to hunting for treasure"
He grabbed my hang and kissed hit gently. "I don't want to hunt for treasure anymore, that isn't what I want to do with my life. I want to be with you" he said. Blushing gently I bit my lip and hugged him.
"I'll go and talk to Oshus, if Link wakes up, come and get me." I said. Nodding gently we got out of bed. Walking with me up to the deck, he pulled me closer to him. Kissing me gently he was reluctant to let go. With a tight hug, I started the walk over to Oshus' house. Knocking on the door, it reminded me of the first time I knocked on it.
I blinked as the door open, snapping me to the present. Looking at the old man I smiled a little. He let me in and sat with me. "Is the young boy getting everything he needs?" he asked.
Nodding gently I looked at the cup of tea. "He is, we got the Southeastern Sea Chart yesterday. We're heading out for Goron Island as soon as he wakes up." I said. Giving a nod, he looked at me.
"That isn't the only reason you came to see me. I sense there's something more."
Sighing I nodded. "There is. As you should probably know, or can tell. Linebeck and I are together. We're both getting worried that we won't be able to be together once Bellum is defeated." I said.
He nodded and hummed. "I see. What does your heart tell you?"
Leaning back I crossed my arms. "It wants me to stay here. But I have a life in the world I came from. What happens to them?"
"If you decide to stay here on the day that Bellum is defeated, then everything will be exactly the same as you left. In a way, time will freeze. If you go back, only 10 minutes would have gone by."
Nodding gently I looked at the Ocean King. "What do you think I should do?" I asked and he tilted his head. "I can't sway your decision in this. You must do what you think is right." he said. Standing he walked me to the door. "You still have much to do, there is time to weigh your decision." he said.
Nodding I left the house and started walking back into town. Getting across the bridge I saw a group of boys stumble out from the tavern. The drunken idiots had saw me as they stood up. Cat calling me, they made their way over, as I had tried to stay away from them.
Linebeck's POV
I was on the deck taking care of a few things when I heard that damn fairy. "Where's (y/n)?" Without looking over I hummed.
"She went to go speak with Oshus." I said. She had beamed at the sound of the old man's name. "Why didn't she wake us up, we could have gone with her." she said. Standing up straight I turned to look at the floating ball of fluff.
"She wanted to go alone, and Link needs his sleep after bouncing from dungeon to dungeon and dealing with enemies all day." I said and walked into the Control Room. By now Link was awake and looking at the two of us.
Sighing I went back up the stairs and started to head over to see the old man. Stopping when I saw her with those drunken bastards. Feeling the rage bubble inside me as they pinned her against the back wall of the tavern, I walked over.
"What are you idiots doing?!"
They turned to look at me before they laughed. "Nothing that concerns you, old man!"
Growling I stomped closer to them. Seeing one try and take a swing at me, I tripped him and he hit the ground with a thud. Grabbing onto my boots I looked down at him as I picked my free leg up. "Let go of me!" I said as I tried to get away from him.
The one that I had assumed to be the leader, turned to look at me. "Get lost, Linebeck! Go find your own treasure, I already have mine." he said as he leaned down to kiss her. Grabbing the guy by the shirt I glared at him.
"She already is my treasure! You could drop every artifact in this world at my feet, and I would still only look at her! Back off!" I yelled. He looked at me and got himself loose from my grip. His goon had grabbed a hold of me before I swung at him. Watching him hit the ground, I turned to the leader.
He looked at the two that were on the ground before he dashed towards the west side of the island. Releasing a breath I turned to look at her. She was sitting on the floor, with her knees to her chest. Sighing gently as I'm sure she was probably scared at the moment, I knelt down.
Getting her to look at me I smiled a little. Helping her up, I pulled her into a hug. She shook a little in my embrace before she calmed down and looked at me. "I thought you didn't fight." she said as I rubbed the back of my head a little.
"Yeah well, I would if it meant you wouldn't get hurt" I said gently. Watching her blush, I smiled. My heart had fluttered as she did this. Leaning down I kissed her softly. Holding her hand I looked at her.
She looked back at me and rose a brow. "What are you staring at?" she asked. Grinning at her I rubbed my thumb against the palm of her hand. "I'm staring at, my treasure" I said. I watched her blink before she got even reader. Giving a chuckle I kissed her cheek. She looked at me. "All right, Mr. Smooth. What else do you want to say to me?" she asked.
It didn't take long for me to think about what I wanted to say to her. I didn't even have to think about saying it. "I love you." I watched as her jaw dropped. She looked up at me as she smiled wide. Watching her wrap her arm around me tightly as she tackled me she held me tightly. Pulling back she kissed me quickly a couple of times. Blinking slowly I looked at her, surprised.
"I love you, too"
(y/n)'s POV
He said it. He said what I've been waiting for him to say. What he has implied in everything he's said to me, the letter he had written me, the actions he does while were in bed. (hehe). Just now when he protected me from those three idiots. Holding his hand, he looked down at me as he seemed surprised.
"I had a hope that you felt the same, actually hearing it makes my knees a little weak." he said. Giggling I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. He did the same as he closed the gap between us. Kissing me gently he pulled back and smiled.
"Link is awake, we need to get to the Southeastern Sea" he said. Nodding gently I walked with him to the ship. Getting on board we started to get the ship ready to shove off. Leaving the harbor we made our way to the eastern sea.
