Chapter Fourteen -

-------------------------------------------------------------

June, 1961.

Paul and Daisy spent many nights in that same position, all snuggled up with Paul's hands on her stomach, feeling the little life inside the bump grow and grow. They may have still had their ups and downs, but this was the longest time they had spent as an actual couple. Paul absolutely worshiped the ground she walked on.

"No... No..." Paul murmured in his sleep as Daisy lightly rocked him side to side, trying to wake him. "Come back and snuggle... It's too early." He whined, waking up just slightly and reaching back up weakly to pull her back down with him.

"Alright, baby, alright." Daisy giggled, burying her face against his chest as she laid back against him.

"Thats my girl." Paul smiled sleepily. His arms worked their way back around her body and held her comfortably, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head.

"Mm.. You're lovely and warm." Daisy mumbled against his chest as she felt Paul's hand rest against the bump on her stomach. He slowly lifted his head when he felt the light kicks from inside her stomach, blinking hard and rubbing his eyes with his free hand.

"Th-That's my little baby in there." He grinned with a soft yawn, looking almost fascinated as he kept his gentle hand flat against where the kicks were coming from.

"Paul, you always react the same, no matter how many times you've felt them." Daisy crinkled her nose, rubbing her hand against his knuckles.

"It amazes me. The fact that there is a little life in there... That we created. It baffles me." He shook his head with a wide grin, "In a good way!"

"You're so cute." She leaned in to kiss his cheek, raising her eyebrows as she felt Paul lowering himself down her body. His lips lightly skimmed against the bump in her stomach, sighing happily as he rested his hand against it. His face lit up every time he felt it move slightly, raising his eyebrows and crinkling his nose.

"We've got a little wriggler today." He chuckled, pressing several more kisses to her stomach as her fingers soothingly swept through his hair.

"Paulie, don't forget you've got a meeting with the boys and Mo today at The Casbah, I'm sure they don't want you to be even more fashionably late than usual." She stuck her tongue out at him, playfully pulling at his hair.

"Excuse me!" Paul gasped playfully, lifting his head up, "Are you trying to make fun of me, hm?" He asked jokingly, moving his body back up and pressing his forehead to hers.

"Maybe!" She giggled, quickly pecking his lips.

"Thats what you're doing, hm?!" He widened his eyes playfully, starting to press kisses all over her face as the two of them fell into a fit of laughter.

"For once, we're not waiting for you!" Mo laughed at Paul as she leant against the bar.

"I hope you're proud!" Paul chuckled back, crinkling his nose.

"Boys, I have some pretty big news for you." Mo widened her eyes, looking back and forth at the group in the empty bar of The Casbah.

"News?" John arched a brow, crossing his arms across his chest.

"Yes.. I'm afraid the time has come for my little rockers to try something bigger." She cleared her throat, slowly starting to smile along with the rest of the band. "I've made a phone call to The Cavern down Matthew Street."

"That jazz club? It's a pile of shit, Mo, it's on it's way to getting shut down!" Paul scowled.

"That's the one.." Mo nodded.

"But how is that going to help us?" John blinked hard.

"Because you're going to save it." Mo raised her eyebrows.

"What?" George let out a half laugh, trying to work out how that could even be possible.

"Mo, I don't think turfing us out to play in a jazz club which hardly anyone ever goes in will do us any good..." Paul scowled.

"Boys, I'm not 'turfing you out', but the thing is, this place isn't big enough for you anymore. If you go and play this regular spot at The Cavern, who knows where you can go from there? The club is directly in the centre of town! The more business you bring the place, the more people come and see you play!" She widened her eyes.

"But we don't play jazz." Paul squinted his eyes.

"I know that! I've convinced the owners of the club to let you play the exact music you play here. The music that brings the people here, to you. You will grow and grow, and with that success, not only will it push you even further in the right direction, but it will help restore The Cavern and be a popular spot for anyone local or passing by." Mo smiled.

"Hm.. Alright, I guess theres no harm in giving it a go." John shrugged, "How often are we playing?"

"You're going to be one of their main acts, so very regular!" Mo clapped her hands together.

"Bloody hell, I just took on a new job to help when the baby comes, too!" Paul chuckled.

"Well, you better tell them you're not going in because you're on your way to becoming the biggest band in the country! Think about what could happen if the news papers pick up on you, if they make you front page news! Think about all the publicity this could give you. You're going to be in the centre of the city... Before you know it, you'll be the centre of the world." Mo sighed softly, placing her hand over her heart, "My boys."

"I can't believe this, Mo." John shook his head, smiling along with the rest of the band, "Thank you."

Pete and Stuart remained quiet but nodded along, content with the decision.

"You're welcome. You boys deserve it, you put a lot of effort into what you do, I just want more people to see it." She smiled back, glancing over at the door when there was a knock.

"That'll probably be Daisy, I told her I'd meet her here." Paul made his way toward the door and opened it, instantly feeling his smile widen as he found Daisy behind it. "Hi, baby." He crinkled his nose, leaning forward to peck her cheek.

"Hi." She smiled back, stepping inside and reaching down for his hand as he walked her back over to the others.

"Hello, Daisy!" Mo raised her eyebrows, looking over at Paul and Daisy.

"Hello, Mo." Daisy spoke softly, resting her hands over Paul's arms as he wrapped them around her from behind.

"How are you feeling?" Mo asked, gesturing toward Daisy's stomach, keeping a smile on her face.

"I've not been too bad, thank you! I keep saying to Paul that I feel quite lucky about it." Daisy shrugged, lightly running her fingers back and forth over his forearms.

"I'm glad." She smiled, "I was just telling the boys that I've got them a new headline booking at a club in the centre of town."

"Really?!" She raised her eyebrows with a proud grin.

"It's fucking incredible that you've done this for us, Mo." John widened his eyes with a grin.

"Hey!" Paul scowled playfully, rubbing his hands over the bump in Daisy's stomach as he teased, "Don't swear in front of my baby!"
