He Has Something To Tell You
Sam playfully shoved Cas as they walked to the diner, Jay and Tom behind them, watching.
Tom narrowed his eyes at the back of Cas' head, mentally daring him to push Sam back. He didn't care if it was playful.
But, Cas didn't do anything back. Even when Sam flicked his ear he didn't do anything. He just opened up the door for them. As Sam walked through, he gave Cas a strange look, but didn't say anything. Jay and Tom walked through, thanking Cas as they did. Cas let out a soft sigh before walking in after them.
He noticed them heading over to the biggest booth there was, seeing Gabriel, Dean, and Devon there already. Don't fuck this up, Gabriel...
The group came together and said their hellos, Dean introducing Gabriel to his niece and nephew, Tom immediately taking a liking to him and his love of sweets.
They sat down and ordered their food and drinks while talking amongst themselves. Gabe and Cas had decided to let the family have their own conversations.
"Gabe, can we talk outside?" Cas whispered softly.
Gabe furrowed his eyebrows, but nodded. "Yeah. Let's go."
Cas was able to quietly slip out the booth, but Devon, who was sitting next to Gabe, noticed him leaving. "Where are you going, daddy?" He asked quietly.
Gabe smiled and gently ruffled his hair. "I'll be right back buddy. Keep this between me and you, alright?" He said with a small grin.
Devon nodded and put a finger to his lips, which Gabe mimicked. He slowly got out the booth, then followed Cas out the door.
"When did he start calling you daddy?" Cas asked with a small smile.
Gabe shrugged and grinned. "The other day he started. I don't know why." He looked at Cas, face suddenly serious. "What did you want to talk about?"
"Well... I just needed someone to vent to... Can I?"
"Lay it on me lil bro."
Cas sighed softly. "I just... Don't think I can handle this, living with Sam's kids for a week. I don't feel like myself right now. I feel like I'm trying to be someone else. And, it's obvious Thomas doesn't like me. Jamaica does, but he doesn't. I'm worried that if I am myself, neither one of them would like me and would persuade Sam to leave me or something. Should I just leave for the week?" He looked at Gabe, worry written on his face.
Gabe shook his head and pulled his little brother into a hug. "Don't leave them Cassie. That's honestly the worst thing you could do. What are you gonna do if you and Sam ever get married and they come to stay? You couldn't just leave for a week and expect Sam to just take that calmly."
Cas sighed and wrapped his arms around Gabe. "Then what do I do?"
"You gotta stick it out, alright?"
"Alright..."
Just as the two pulled away from each other, the door to the diner opened and Sam stepped out. He noticed the two brothers and went over. "We thought you two left us or something.. What's wrong?"
Gabe and Cas looked at each other, then back to Sam. "It's nothing," Cas muttered quietly; earning a bitch face from Gabe.
"He has to talk to you," Gabe said before going back into the diner.
Sam looked down at Cas with puppy dog eyes. "What's going on, Cas?" He asked nervously.
Cas looked down at his feet. "I was thinking about leaving..."
It was silent for a moment before Sam let out a soft, pitiful, "me?"
Cas quickly looked up and gently cupped his face. "No, no. Not you."
"Then what? I don't understand, Cas..."
"I was... thinking of leaving the house for a while..."
"Why? Is it because of Jay and Tom? Do you not want them there?"
"It's not because of them. It's just... Sam, it's no secret Tom hates me. I don't feel like myself right now.. I feel like if I be myself, then they will both hate me... I don't want them to hate me and then you break up with me because I'm not good eno-"
Sam quickly pressed his lips against Cas', shutting him up. He pulled away, still barely grazing his lips. "Don't say that... You are good enough, Cas. If Jay and Tom hate you, which they don't, it's not going to change my opinion of you. Sure, it'll make me heartbroken to know that they don't like you, but I love you and I'm not gonna leave you. Tom doesn't hate you, Cas. I know he doesn't. It just takes him a while to warm up to people. Don't leave, Cas. Please, don't..."
Cas wrapped his arms around Sam's neck and gently kissed him again, smiling into the kiss when Sam kissed back. They pulled away and Cas tucked some of Sam's hair behind his ear. "I'm not gonna leave," he whispered softly.
"Ok." Sam nodded and smiled at him. "Cas, can you just be yourself, please? Quite frankly, you're kinda boring right now and I don't like it."
Cas chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I'll partially be myself. Is that fine?"
"As long as my old Cas is back a bit, that's totally fine with me."
The two smiled at each other before Cas took Sam's hand and lead him back into the diner.
