Today was my brother's birthday and I was hoping to cross something off of my list. 

Surprise someone

I've never been a good party planner but I was going to plan the best birthday this year, since it would be the last I'd celebrate with him. 

He was turning 18 and he was going to lose his sister. That was the worst gift. 

I felt sadness overwhelm me. I didn't know what kind of party to throw. Normally, he and I would just watch movies together and insult each other. 

His birthday meant bonding day, I would love to do that this year but he needed to celebrate, be less attached to me. I sound like a heartless bish don't I?

I decided to call Anais for help. 

"Help me throw a party" I immediately tell her. 

"For who?"

"Axel, it's his birthday" I whisper. 

"Oh" she paused. "OH! Okay, meet me at my house, but we'll need help. I'll call his friends and you call Blake, I don't have his number"

"Are you assuming I have his number?"

"Yes. If you don't, figure it out! Okay, bye!" she ended the call, probably getting ready. 

I was ready to drive my brother to his soccer practice, anyway. Maybe I'll bump into Blaze there, did I mention that he was the star player of the team?

I always go with my brother to his soccer practices and he teaches me when there are no competitive practices in hand. 

"Ready sis? I'll show you a few tricks today, maybe our temporary goalkeeper would go easy on you"

"But Will was always easy on me, why would you change him?"

"He's sick and can't attend practice so we put someone else as a goalie"

I look around and see the same old team, kicking balls and all. 

That sounded way better in my head

"Hey, Cathy!" Zack shouts from across he field. 

My brother was in the locker rooms, changing.

"Look out!" someone suddenly shout, I didn't know he was warning me until I saw the ball heading my way. I wish I could've had fast reflex like those in the movies but nope. I close my eyes and held my hands in front of me, waiting for impact. 

It didn't come. 

I opened my eyes to see the ball, directly in front of me, in someone's hands. I looked up and saw Blake grinning at me. 

"Hey, Cat" he said before doing tricks with the ball. "Does this impress you?" he winks. 

"No, my brother is better"

"I'm pretty sure I was called the star player for a reason"

"At least my brother is humble" I scoff. 

"You're just saying that because he's your brother" he pouts, holding the ball.

"Maybe, Wouldn't know that until you get the experience"

"Would be fun, but I wouldn't get the pleasure of making you my girl" he winks. 

"Wouldn't get to that either way" I mumble. 

"What?"

"I said that was impressive" 

"So, do I get a kiss?" he leans closer. 

"Do you want me to walk you back?" 

"Walk me back where?" he leaned back, confused. 

"Back to that friendzone you tried to escape" I stifle a laugh as he faked his hurt expression. 

"So I was wondering, could you help me throw my brother a birthday party?" I continue. 

"Wow, after what you just did?" 

"Yeah" I shrug. 

"Okay, let's make a deal, get a ball past me and I'll help you" he smirks. 

"You're the temporary goal keeper?" I ask and he simply nods in reply.

"Try again, Cat" he smirks, his arms wide and ready to catch the ball like he did for the past 20 times. Everyone was had emptied the field for us. 

I kick the ball, it was so close, but he still caught it. 

"Damnit!" I shout. "I wish I was this ball" 

"So you can be in my arms?" 

"No, so I can aim straight at your balls" I spat before finally kicking the ball in, this time, it must've taken him by surprise but the ball went into the goal and everyone cheered for me. 

Blaze walked forward, smiling. "Good job, Cat, but I don't think that was a fair point since I was distracted."

"I remember being told that goal keepers were supposed to be alert at all times"

"Okay, fine you got me. Now, let's get that party started"

"We need him distracted, maybe bring him to the bar or anything--don't let him get drunk though. We'll be setting up at home, it'll be a pool party. Can I trust you with that?"

"My reward?"

"I thought seeing me in a really sexy bikini was enough" I said seductively, deciding to play him at his own game. His face went red and he just stared at me, shocked. 

I walked away, smirking and ready to plan that party.

"You should call Blaze up--do you have his number now?" Anais asked.

"No" I answered and asks for Zack's phone, quickly dialing Blake and tossing the phone to me. 

"Hello?"

"We're all set up here, you can bring him home"

"Gotcha' Cat. Why are you using Zack's phone?"

"Cause I don't have your number, now get home." I hung up and gave Zack his phone back. 

"Rina, I think you should change your clothes or something now." Anais calls out. 

I went upstairs and grabbed my black crossback bikini and wore a red sundress over it. After that I went downstairs and checked on everything.

"Move that more to the right" I hear Anais tell the boys putting the banner on.

"Got it handle now?" I asked her, she nods in reply. 

The door opened and we all went to position. 

"Seriously man? You bring me to a bar and then back home after a simple phone call?" I hear my brother grumble, followed by Blaze's laugh.

"SURPRISE!" we all shouted. Axel seemed to search the crowd for me and smiled when he found me. He opened his arms and I ran to hug him. 

"Happy birthday"

"She made me do it, bro" Blaze chuckles. 

"Let's get this party started!" Anais shouts and everyone cheered right after. 

We all ran into the backyard and into the pool. I took my sundress off and hear everyone wolf whistle at me--until someone shut them up. 

Blaze covered me and glared at everyone else. 

"Put your dress back on" he said in a low growl. "As much as I like seeing you in that, I don't want anyone else seeing your body" 

"You're not my parents or my boyfriend, you can't control me" I raise my eyebrows 

"What if I can?"

I smirked and pushed him into the pool--bad move. He pulls me in with him and we all laugh at the incident. 

"Stop flirting, Blaze" my brother warns him like always. 

"You've got to give me that blessing some day"

"Not soon" he rolls his eyes.

I laughed again. This was a fun day to have crossed that off my list.
