(3) There Goes East Side High...

Millie~

3 weeks later

"Mahna Mahna

Do doo be-do-do

Mahna Mahna

Do do-do do

Mahna Mahna

Do doo be-do-do be-do-do be-do-do be-do-do-doodle do do do-doo do!" I sang cheerfully as I grabbed a bowl and my Special K Red Berries cereal from a cupboard in the kitchen. I filled it up and added some strawberry yoghurt before sitting down in my usual seat at the kitchen table.

Tom groaned, "How can you be so cheerful on a school morning?!" he asked in horror as he bit into a piece of toast.

"Because it's the last day of school, and then we're free for the summer!" I sang as I ate a mouthful of my cereal.

"Last day of high school ever, baby!" Jesse sang as he walked into the kitchen. Again, Tom groaned due to the loudness of his voice but everyone else just laughed. Even though only a fraction of my family was awake, the kitchen was still filled with noise. Todd, Isaac, Rob and Ryan were still sleeping. Their summer break had started a couple of weeks ago when their college semester ended, however Jace, who was also out for the summer already, had a summer internship at our family's business so he was already gone.

Once we were all done with breakfast we all hopped into the massive Jeep. Normally, Izzy and I would drive the Ferrari on our own, whilst the boys would take a different car but today, since it was the last day, we decided to go together. Jesse dibbed driving so jumped in the front whilst twirling the keys around his index finger. Jesse was 18 and this was his last day of high school. I would miss him when he went off to college, however then I became a senior and being a Ward I would pretty much rule the school.

Brent got into the passenger seat. Brent was 17, the same age as me and would also become a senior next year. Tom grudgingly got into the back seat. He was really not a morning person and because he was the youngest of all of us in the car we had the right to take the mick out of him. He was sixteen so still had two years to go through high school.

Finally, Izzy and I hopped into the back of the Jeep. Izzy was also 18 so this was her last day of high school. They had already graduated, as seniors graduated a couple of weeks before the official end of the semester, so they didn't really do much in school, but I would be sad to see my only girl cousin and best friend leave.

As we drove down the drive we saw James running to catch his bus. His overgrown mass of dark hair flapped in the wind and his moss green eyes glinted in annoyance when Jesse revved the car engine. He was in his final year of middle school, being 14, and was normally late for the bus so we rolled down the windows as we passed.

"Run fat-boy, run!" Brent shouted, quoting the movie.

"Move that scrawny ass of yours, chicken legs!" Jesse also shouted. James was a skinny boy, even though Brent had called him fat. James shook his fist in the air as he ran faster and Jesse revved the engine once again as we sped past him.

We pulled up into our spot in the school parking lot. It was the best one in the parking area and of course nobody else dared to try and use it once we made it clear it was ours.

"I got 99 problems but my bitch ain't one..." Jesse sang as we all got out of the car.

"HIT ME!" we all finished. I laughed as the boys high fived each other.

"Dude, we should make a cover and post it on YouTube!!" Brent joked, reaching out to high five Izzy. Izzy pushed him and we all laughed whilst Tom shouted 'rejection'.

Most of the school were in the parking lot as school hadn't started yet. I looked around to find that most of them were watching us, and why wouldn't they? We were the people everyone wanted to be and know; of course they watched us.

"Jesse!" I heard a male voice holler from across the parking lot. I turned to see most of the football team leaning against a car. Jesse was the quarterback in the football team and was going to become a professional football player. He wasn't interested in joining the family business, but that didn't matter since there were so many other kids to take charge of it. Additionally, he was pretty darn good at the sport and had been awarded a scholarship to play football at Edgeport University

"Peace out homies!" Jesse shouted as he walked away from us and towards his football friends. I shook my head and chuckled slightly. Brent also walked off to his friends and Tom had also disappeared.

"Izzy, you've got Maths second period, right?" I checked as I pushed myself off of the car, which I had been resting against. Izzy nodded and smiled in confirmation. "I'll see you there then," I replied, smiling back before setting off up the steps to the school. I entered through the large double doors and strutted down the hallway towards my locker.

The arm of a tall male slung itself over my shoulders, "Sugar, you look so damn hot in those shorts," he whispered in my ear.

I scoffed and pushed his arm off me, "Aiden, touch me again and I will personally wipe the floor with your ass, okay?" I replied, throwing him a fake smile at the last part, venom filling my voice for the rest. The whole hallway was silent as everybody turned to watch.

"You know you want me, Millie, why play so hard to get?" he replied cockily a huge smirk plastered on his face.

"I know you want me, Aiden, no need to act so desperate," I placed a hand on my hip as some of Aiden's guy friends shouted remarks about him getting owned. I smirked at him as his eyes narrowed. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Aiden Wall, one of the biggest players ever to grace this earth. His ego was so ginormous it could challenge mine, and that was saying something! All of the girls surrounding me would do anything to have as much attention from him as I did, but I would do anything to get rid of it.

"Go find some other girl to fuck you, because I never will," I spoke again, giving him one last smirk before turning around and proceeding to my locker. Today I wore some light wash, denim shorts, a white t-shirt, my leather jacket and my black 4 inch booties which came right above my ankles. As it was a sunny day I also was wearing my Aviators and my dark hair fell in waves over my shoulders.

I grabbed my books from my locker and went to my first period which was History and sat down in one of the seats at the back. I didn't really have friends in school because I knew they were never really true. The girls only wanted my 'hot brothers' or my money and the guys were too scared of my brothers so making friends was pretty much impossible. I pulled my Aviators off and sat back in my chair, crossing my legs as I reviewed what was going on around me. I was a people watcher, creepy I know, but extremely interesting and often amusing. Not many people knew it but I was going to become a Psychologist because of it.

My high school was your typical high school but with the added bonus of the Wards, of course. At the top of the food chain were the Wards; we were awesome and we knew it, and so did everybody else. Then came the cheerleaders and the jocks. In my first period class there were a group of jocks throwing paper balls at each other and a group of cheerleaders, trying desperately to attract the attention of the brainless jocks. Then there were the normal people, who were sat in a group in the middle of the classroom talking to each other. Finally, sat right at the front of the classroom absorbed in what looked like a million and one books were your typical nerds.

Aiden walked through the door, followed closely by a posse of desperate girls, and sat down in a seat near me. I rolled my eyes as he winked at me, before I decided it would be best to put my Aviators back on.

Luckily, at that minute the teacher walked in. As it was the last day of school none of us, even the teachers, planned on doing any work - well maybe all except the nerds whose heads were still buried inside their books.

Before the teacher, Mrs King, could say anything the intercom that ran throughout the whole school made a rustling noise. Everybody's ears pricked up at the noise and all heads turned towards the speaker in the front right hand corner of the classroom. The intercom was rarely used in this school and if it was it was only used for important things.

"Good morning students of East Side High School," our principal's voice rang out, "I have very important and exciting news to share with you all," Mr Henderson began, "As you may know, East Side High School's facilities are... not as good as they used to be. Additionally, the pupil intake each school year has been decreasing rapidly. You may also know that the same thing has been going on in West Side High School. So, after much discussion and negotiation, it has been decided that East and West Side High School's will shut and all students will transfer to Central High. I hope you will enjoy your new school and have a good summer break, thank you all for your attention," the intercom crackled once again as it was turned off and the whole classroom was left stunned and in silence.

I blinked a few times, before pinching myself on the arm to check I wasn't dreaming. My arm stung instantly. Nope, definitely and unfortunately not dreaming. I looked around quickly to see the same shocked expression on all of my classmates' faces; none as shocked as I, Millie Ward, who would, as of September, become a senior at Central High School - along with the students from West Side High, which meant... the Wrights.

The Wrights are a large and rich family, like ours, however completely opposite in the fact that they are the worst family ever created! They are our rivals, our competition, and our enemy. They own the large company Wright & Co which is the main rival to our large company Ward Enterprises.

Many years ago, when our great-grandfathers began the two businesses they were great friends. However all good things must come to an end and Reginald Wright stabbed Callum Ward in the back by stealing customers and spreading horrible rumours about the company. That awful deed can and will never be forgiven! If forgiveness was ever to be considered by the Ward family, the Wrights must come and beg for it, just as our great-grandfather begged for his customers to come back to him and ignore the ignorant rumours started by Reginald Wright.

Nowadays, Wright & Co is run by the third generation of Wrights, just as Ward Enterprises is run by the third generation of Wards. There is Drew Wright, the oldest of the third generation siblings, who is married and has four children, Louise, Noah, Nick and Ethan. Drew has a younger brother with whom he runs the business, Derek. He and his wife have three sons, Oliver, Reece and Holden. Drew and Derek have two sisters, Imogen and India, who are both married. Imogen has three children, Scott, Islay and Ivy who are twins. India has two sons, Sam and Seth.

The Wards and the Wrights never see each other - I do not even know what some of the children look like, only the main and important older ones. The Wrights take residence in the West side of the city, well away from us and it has always been that way- until now...

"What the fuck?!?!"
