12: Forgiven

Aeris' POV:

"Hm..." I said, looking up at the night sky. "I want to go back to the castle, but I don't at the same time..." I said. I knew he was going to be mad, no matter what I said. "Sigh..." I heaved a sigh. "I wonder what it's like to be a king..." I said to myself again. I walked over the bridge. "It must be difficult..." I continued, looking at my reflection in the river below. "..." I was silent. "And stressful..." I finished. "Oh, it's snowing now." I said, as snow fell from the once clear sky. "I'd better hurry before it turns into a blizzard.

-Small timeskip-

"I'm back!" I shouted, my voice echoing through the castle. "Where were you?!" Yuki said. He was pissed off, as expected.

Yuki's POV:

"Sigh..." I said. "I'm very sorry for sneaking out." Aeris said. "You're fine." I said, getting off of my throne and walking to my room. "Huh?" She looked at me with a puzzled look. "...I disagree..." She said. "I have broken a promise to not sneak out. Which is-", "I said you're fine." I said, covering her mouth. I let go. "T-thank you." She said. I walked in my room, closing the door behind me. "Sigh..." I grabbed one of the many books I have, and started reading it. "I must've stopped reading it..." I said, looking at the folded page In the middle of the book. I was reading, and slowly drifted off to sleep.

The kindhearted old man looked up at the fairy and pleaded, "Please! People have persuaded me to use my three wishes on them! I need one more to save my son!"

The fairy looked at the man and said, "No, I cannot grant you any more wishes... Please don't be greedy..."

The old man started to weep, "Please! I must save my son! He is sick, and dying... Please..."

The fairy was broken-hearted because she couldn't do anything more. She said to the man, "Why did you let people take your wishes?"

The old man was feeling ill, and managed to say his final words...

"Kindness is the key to heaven..."
