2. Welcome

Reina: This lovely drawing is from KawaiiOtakuGeek. You guys should check out her stories!

You enter the manor and take a look at your surroundings. It was rather dim, but nicely furnished. The exotic drapes over the windows were red, the plush carpet was red, and all of the seats were red with gold trim. Paintings of important figures hung over the walls, and all of the backgrounds were red.

This entire place is red, you thought to yourself. Except for the stairs, which happened to be black. It was then that you realized that anywhere that wasn't red was black.

"Hello?" You asked. "Is anybody home?"

"Welcome," a voice in front of you drawled. You squinted in the dim lighting to see who it was. A figure stepped in front of you and snapped their fingers, blinding you as the torches brightened significantly. After blinking the spots out of your eyes, you focused on the figure in front of you. It was a man with white hair and toffee skin. He wore clothing that was more fit for a pirate as opposed to a nobleman or butler, complete with an eyepatch. A small thought popped into your head, wondering if he had a parrot, but you squashed it down, as it was an undignified thought.

"May I ask your name, sweetheart?" The man asked.

"My name is (F/N) (L/N)," you replied.

"Aren't you a bit far from home at such a late time?" He asked.

You collected your thoughts for a moment before answering. "I was walking home from Anna's store when the path home was blocked. It began to rain really hard, so I came here to seek shelter."

The man raised an eyebrow. "Where's this store?"

Before you could answer, a butler with white hair approached from behind the staircase, carrying a tray of tea. He noticed you and approached. "Welcome, milady. I am Jakob, and I see that you already met Niles. Would you like some tea?"

You nod your head as a small part of your brain protested it, as Jakob could have poisoned it. Then again, you thought as you raised the cup to your lips, how would Jakob know to poison it if you suddenly arrived here? And why would he also give a cup to Niles?

"This is delicious!" You exclaim. "This is the best tea I've ever had!"

Jakob smiled. "Thank you, milady."

Jakob then looked to the staircase. "It's time to bring Lady Corrin and Lord Leo their tea."

"Who is Lord Leo?" You ask.

Jakob smiled. "Why, he is the lord here." He looked at the staircase. "And here he comes."

You look up to see a handsome man approach the staircase. He had short blonde hair, red eyes, and wore black armor. Your heart started beating faster as you stared. He was the most handsome man you had ever seen. This must be Lord Leo.

As he took one step on the staircase, he lost his balance and fell over, rolling over the steps painful until he face planted in front of Jakob.

You could only stand in shock. Niles was laughing to the point of crying while Jakob acted like this was a small inconvenience.

"Do you want your tea now?" Jakob asked. "If not, I'll deliver it to Lady Corrin."

"Ow," Leo replied.

"I'll go attend Lady Corrin," Jakob replied as he walked past Lord Leo and went up the stairs. You approach Leo carefully as Niles stopped laughing.

"Are you alright?" You asked.

"He put his shoes on the wrong feet again," Niles answered.

You blink. "How is that possible?"

"He's an idiot," Niles replied.

"I am not an idiot," Leo replied. You smiled slightly, as you could listen to his deep voice all day. It was rather soothing to the mind.

"Oh," Niles admitted suddenly. "That's right. You're not an idiot. You're just incompetent."

Leo growled as he slowly got up and took his boots off. After making sure that they were on the right feet, he finally looked up at you, causing you to gaze at his eyes.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"I'm (Y/N)," you replied. "I couldn't get home due to the storm so I sought refuge here."

Leo turned his head slightly to glare at Niles. "Well? Why haven't you escorted her to a room?"

Niles shrugged. "I don't know what room will be acceptable for her?"

Leo sighed. "Just put her near Corrin's room. I have some studying to do."

Niles nodded and extended his arm to you. You hesitated before reluctantly accepting, lamenting that Leo wasn't the one escorting you. Niles lead you to the top of the staircase before suddenly turning around to Leo.

"Leo!" He laughed. "Your collar is inside out!"

Leo looked at himself in horror before hurriedly running up the stairs, only to trip and face plant near the top. Laughing, Niles escorted you to your new room before he bade you goodnight, leaving you alone with the image of the young lord in your mind.

Reina: So this is chapter two! I had a little bit of fun torturing Leo, so I might keep doing it throughout the story.

I need five votes to continue to the next chapter.
