Imagine being in love with Kol when you were both human

  "Catch me if you can!"

  An innocent, bubbly laughter escaped your mouth as you stumbled through the woods, your hands lifting the hem of your white dress to make it easier for your bare feet to carry you further between the tall trees. You could hear Kol laughing behind you, at a fair distance though, and you had no intentions to let him actually catch you, so you continued to run while glancing back once in a while to make sure he wasn't breathing in your neck.

  Days like these were your favorite kind of. There were many dangers lurking in the shadows by night, but during the day, when all the tasks had been taken care of, you and the charming Mikaelson boy found time to have fun together, whether it was playing hide and seek in the village, or making out on the open field nearby. You and him had fallen in love, although your family and friends considered him a heartbreaker, but he had stolen your heart nonetheless, and you had the privilege of holding his attention in your hands as well.

  He loved you as much as you loved him, and on the luckiest of days, the two of you got to play in the woods, like now. You were running away from him, not wanting him to catch you in his arms - although yes, you did - and it seemed like you were going to be victorious. You giggled softly while running through the woods, your feet pressing against the wet moss that almost caused you to slip a couple of times, but you managed to keep your balance while holding up your dress and praying for it to not rip apart, since you knew your mother wouldn't be too happy to see you all messy and your clothes torn once you'd return home.

  You looked back, but didn't see or hear Kol anymore, so you knitted your eyebrows together and tried to catch a glimpse of him, which took most of your concentration and you forgot to look in front of you. You felt your body meet someone else's, and you squealed as you stumbled backwards, your eyes returning to what was ahead instead of behind, and just as you were about to fall on the hard ground, an arm swooped around your waist and drew you close to the body you had bumped into.

  You held your breath, and broke into a gasp when your eyes locked with Kol's - he had definitely surprised you. "Bloody hell, Kol!", you scoffed, and swatted his shoulder as you tried to squirm out of his hold. He gazed down to your eyes, but eventually let you go, looking away while a playful grin tugged up his pink lips, making you do the same as you straightened your dress and tucked some hair away from your face.

  "If you insist on playing games, you must be prepared to losing, as well. You cannot always win. Especially when you're going against me", Kol smirked smugly, his voice too attractive to handle, and you let out an amused laughter which only widened his smile. Your hand went to take this, and you rolled your eyes at his comment, but interlocked your fingers and started to walk to the other side of the woods, where your favorite hideaway was - the field, where you often got lost in each other's eyes.

  During the day, you and Kol liked to wrestle on the field, giggle and have fun, maybe make out a bit, but during the night, things got much more intense. The stars were out beautifully, and you could spend hours on each other's arms, looking up at the dark night sky, and eventually he'd find his way on top of you and your fingers would intertwine while his lips travelled up and down your body. The field was your favorite place, especially when it was quiet, peaceful and empty, and you could just enjoy each other's presence all day long.

  You and Kol made your way to the familiar spot, and you let go of his hand to dance your way through the fluffy dandelions, which was a sight too beautiful to not admire. Kol's eyes followed as you giggled and twirled around the field, and he grinned proudly, happy that the girl in front of him was all his, and he couldn't stop himself from running after you and catching you again to take you on his arms. Kol's large hands gripped your hips, and he lifted you up, twirling you around and laughing with you.

  Your hair fell open, and the warm breeze started to play with it as Kol slowly set you down to the ground, on your back and followed right behind. He opened his arm for you, and you scooted closer, resting your head on his chest while sighing happily, enjoying the feeling of his muscles against you and his soft lips touching your temple, while his hand began caressing your hair gently. You felt safe and happy on his arms, and he felt the same way about you - god, it was all so perfect and flawless. Such innocent, young love. If only it could last forever.

  "I love you, Y/N", Kol broke the silence between you while you looked up at the bright, open sky where birds were flying and the sun shining down at you. It was a truly beautiful day, the kind of, where happiness just forced its way into your heart because it was so damn lovely everywhere. You smiled, and looked up at Kol, your body rolling from his side to on top, and as you straddled his lap, you leaned down to place a gentle kiss on his irresistible lips.

  "I love you too", you muttered while a half of a smile tugged up your lips, before placing them against his once more. Your hands cupped his cheeks, and his rested on your hips while he slowly lifted himself up by relying on his elbows, and your eyes closed while your forehead leaned against his and your lips moved together perfectly like they were used to.

  "I wish we could stay here, like this, forever", you sighed when your lips parted, and Kol chuckled but nodded his head in agreement. He wrapped his arms around you, and his eyes looked up at you adoringly, like you were the center of the universe, his lips pulling up into a happy smile that you returned gladly.

  "I wish so too, darling. But, one day...", Kol whispered, and kissed your jaw softly, "we shall bring our children here and tell them all about our little rendezvous...", winking at you which made you laugh and slap his shoulder playfully.

  "Ew, no!", you laughed and shook your head. "But, I do fancy the idea of children, and bringing them here. We'll just leave out the details...Perhaps one day we can actually do so", you sighed, and placed your hands on his shoulders, looking deeply into his eyes while smiling widely and going for one more kiss. He nodded, also liking the thought, and so you continued to live in the belief that one day, you'd be married, and have children, and bring them to your favorite spot and live happily ever after as one big family.

  But, even if you didn't know it yet, the two of you could never have that.
