Imagine being turned into a vampire by Damon which makes your boyfriend Klaus very unhappy and angry but you talk to him and he calms down

You woke with a gasp, your body jolting up as your eyes widened and you felt pain wrap you in its aching hold. You rested your hands on the bed, supporting yourself while you felt a muscular arm wrap around you, pull you closer, but everything was too hazy for you to understand what was really going on.

It was insane. Your gums ached, there was an inexplicable thirst in you, your head felt like it was about to blow up, and every emotion seemed to intensify, and quite frankly, you thought you had died and went to hell. Wrong, you had died, yes, but you came back as a vampire, though you didn't understand it. You didn't remember. It was all just blur to you, and you craved for answers, so you turned over to the man who was embracing you, attempting to comfort you, for a reason you didn't know yet.

After blinking a couple of times, you got your sight back, and you identified the man holding you as the one and only Damon Salvatore, which made you sigh in relief. At least he was familiar and a reliable face who most likely held the answers to your several questions. You were confused though, because he seemed rather relieved as well, as if you had been in serious danger, and it caused you to grow worried and suspicious of your current state, but you didn't want to make any rushed assumptions, so you swallowed thickly and tried to stay calm.

"Damon?", you croaked out, clearing your throat after hearing how weak and hoarse your voice was. It surprised you both, but at least your attempt at speaking made Damon stop his obsessive rocking back and forth, which honestly only concerned you more. "What is going on? What happened?", you asked, starting off with the easy questions that you hoped he could give answers to. You wanted to have some kind of a picture in your head, considering it was now only a mess of puzzle pieces waiting for someone to put them together.

"Y-You don't remember?", Damon asked in shock, his light blue eyes boring into yours, making you shiver with fear, but somewhere you found the strength to shake your head. Damon sighed heavily, and let go of you to stand up from the bed where you still sat, your eyes following him as he started to nervously pace back and forth the bedroom you recognized as his own one. You knitted your eyebrows together, now starting to consider more than just one option, and you were about to open your mouth to force him to talking, but there was no need, apparently.

"Christ, your boyfriend is going to kill me", he chuckled, and turned over to you with a serious look. "Y/N - you're a vampire", Damon stated, and you began laughing, assuming it was one of his bad jokes, but then you saw the hard, stern look on his face and your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach as your amused smile faded. He was being serious, you could tell.

And then it started to come back to you. You had insisted on helping Damon with some werewolves, and while he remained safe and healthy, your chest was slashed open and you were on the verge of dying. You could remember the light in your eyes fading, your heartbeat slowing down as you bled out on Damon's arms, which explained the stains on his shirt. You could remember your body feeling limp and cold, as if you were already taking the first exit out, but before you could properly die, you managed to whisper your one last request to the Salvatore.

"Make me a vampire", you had breathed out, and you remembered it now - you asked him to turn you, and since you were dying on his arms, he didn't really want to argue or disagree. He gave you his blood, but it wasn't enough to heal you, though you did die with it in your system, and therefore you came back to life as a vampire. One of his kind. One of the undead.

You didn't know how to cope. It seemed like Damon wasn't taking it too well, either. But what mostly concerned you, was how would your boyfriend, Klaus react? Like Damon said, he would probably kill the poor guy, as he wished for you to stay human as long as only possible, but now you had foolishly gotten yourself killed and it led to this, the one thing Klaus wanted to protect you from. But he had failed, and you had disobeyed, and the inevitable had happened. God, you were genuinely scared of going back home, to tell Klaus that you had died, that the old human Y/N was gone. But it had to be done.

"Thank you", was the last thing you said to Damon, before kissing his cheek and then leaving the boarding house. You had to face Klaus, although it scared you, he scared you, but at one point you would have to go home, so might as well rip off the band-aid as soon as possible. You were truly grateful to Damon, though, for doing as you wished, and you silently promised yourself to not let Klaus kill the poor Salvatore. He had acted under pressure and panic, and in your opinion, he did the right thing. He respected your choice, and he turned you - that was just how it was, and it couldn't be changed now. It was something you had to live with, and you knew you could, but could Klaus?

On the way home, you fed on some random guy on the street, and after following your boyfriend's behaviour for a year or two, you knew how to act, and managed to stay under control. You let the guy go, though only after compelling him to forget all about it, and giving him your blood to heal the wound on his neck. In your opinion, you were already a master at being a vampire, although it did include a lot of pain and the emotions didn't make it too easy either, but you considered yourself quite talented, which you were, indeed.

You reluctantly opened the front door of the home you shared with Niklaus, considering other options, but settling down with the smartest one. You walked in, and your arrival earned all of the hybrid's attention, causing him to sprint to the foyer, where he instantly wrapped his arms around you. You closed your eyes, and breathed in Klaus' wonderful scent, feeling his muscles through his shirt, finding safety on his arms as he pressed worried, fond kisses all over your face.

"Oh, love", Klaus sighed, his accent making you bite your lip as dropped your head on his shoulder. "Are you alright, dear?", he continued, breaking your heart with the flawlessly picked words - it hurt you to know that you were not alright, and even more to know that you would have to tell Klaus. You were surprised he hadn't realized your state yet, but maybe he was just too happy to have you back on his arms to pay attention to the details. He had heard from his trusted friend, Stefan, how you and Damon had been in serious danger, but most of the story had been spared.

Klaus didn't know you had died. Klaus didn't know you were a vampire. And now, you had to break it down to him.

"No, not really", you whispered, and chuckled, although the situation was far from amusing. You looked up at him, and gave him an apologetic look, knowing that his heart would break. All he wanted for you, was safety, happiness, a real future, and he had vowed to always keep you human, but that was no longer possible. You bit on your wrist, and Klaus was confused, but when he saw the broken skin heal, his heart sank and his smile dropped.

"No", Klaus breathed out, shaking his head in disbelief, but unfortunately, it was quite true. He seemed sad at first, and you offered him a warm hug, but he was too numb to return the gesture, though he went from zero to hundred quite fast. He let go of you, and paced around the room, his steps growing aggressive, and in no time, he had already swung the pictures on the nearest drawer, down to the floor, as a deep growl rose from his throat. You took a step back, unsure what to do or say - you knew he had a temper, and now more than ever, you feared.

"Nik, please", you sighed, "if anyone should be upset, it is I. Please forgive me", giving him a careful smile, but he just grunted in response, giving you an unhappy glare.

"It's not you I'm furious at. It's Damon. I'm going to kill that bloody bastard", Klaus's eyes looked over to you, glowing in full hybrid mode, his pink lips turned upside down while his eyebrows knitted together, clearly displeased. You understood why he was upset, but you didn't want him to kill Damon, so you stepped in between him and the door before he could run out, shaking your head as you placed a hand on his tight chest.

"No, Nik, he saved my life! I was dying, on his arms, and I asked him to turn me. I couldn't go that way. I wasn't ready. I wanted to come back for you", you begged, promising that it was by no means Damon's fault, but he obviously seemed to struggle with believing. Klaus shook his head, but you balanced his shaky posture by placing a hand on his cheek, caressing the skin, feeling the stubble against your palm while your eyes locked. But, he was nowhere near calm.

"That doesn't mean he has the right to ruin your future!", he angrily disagreed, pushing you aside as he stomped towards the front door, but with only one sentence, you managed to stop him.

"Would you rather have me die, then?"

You stood frozen in shock, your eyes filling with tears, your heart shattering in your chest. You had always known this was how Klaus dealt with things, by acts of violence and destruction, but it wasn't what you wanted. Your voice cracked, and you sniffled quietly as you stared at the muscular back, that he turned towards the door, just to face you. His expression softened, and he shook his head, sighing heavily while taking a step towards you. You had no intentions to move, so Klaus was easily pressed against you, your bodies together while he cupped your cheeks and looked down at you, into your eyes with an intense gaze. He shook his head again, and pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of your nose.

"Of course not, love. I am profoundly happy to have you right on my arms, it's just that, it is rather unfortunate to know that you will never have a real future, or a family", Klaus shrugged, giving you a sad smile while wrapping his arms around you to draw you closer. You sighed, and rested your head against his chest again, understanding that he was right, but somehow, you felt happy right there. And as you allowed yourself to imagine your ideal future, you had to admit, it no longer included a family - perhaps because it wasn't a possibility anymore, but nonetheless, you could see yourself being happy without the goals of a human.

"Yes, well, I would much rather live with you. Be the queen to your king", you teased and chuckled against his chest, making him do the same against the top of your head. You stood there in silence for a while, finding peace and comfort just in each other's presence, but Klaus just had to break the nice atmosphere eventually.

"I will still give that blockhead a proper beating, and there is nothing you can say to change my mind."
