Avanthika couldn't even judge anything when a tight slap hit her face, throwing her back on the chair.

Amarendra tried his best to control a raging Devasena, while Avanthika stared in disbelief!

" You bloody..... 

I knew Amarendra, she would do something like this!
You psycho, fool, I wonder why such people don't get treated than ruining others lives ...... ! "

Devasena's weak body didn't stop her from rebelling.

Inspector Batra intervened.

" Please let us interrogate madam! I know what you are going through...but.... "

" No no inspector, you know nothing! Nothing at all! You won't even ever know what a mother goes through being separated from her child at birth, and I have gone through the pain again and again! "
Devasena was yelling, and this time Amarendra was breaking as well.

For the first time Amarendra stared at Avanthika, in a way no one could comprehend.

" Batra, I think we are cordial much....
Aren't we? I will request a few minutes of patience from you.. "

Amarendra walked straight upto Avanthika, and grabbing the handles of her chair, almost shook her on the insides...

" Where... Is.... My.... Daughter, Avanthika Mohan? "

Avanthika's eyes widened, but she didn't break the contact with Amarendra's eyes. The fire in them almost burnt her, but she could still look into them.

Just because she was innocent this time, but she knew that was not enough.

" I too wonder the same, Amarendra! "
Avanthika hissed.

" Liar!!!!  "

Devasena shouted from behind, shaking vigorously.

" I am not!!!! For god's sake, I had come only to meet you Deva! I'm not bloody sick that I'll kidnap or do some nonsense with a one day old child, even if I don't trust your words in the email, and I do that as well!!!! "

" What Email? "

Amarendra now stared at Devasena.

Inspector Batra spoke again.

" Amar, the nurse hasn't spoken up a thing till now. She has probably used a staircase just beside the nursery that has got the CCTV gone wrong for the last few days. She's being enquired but all she's got to say is she doesn't know anything. But hasn't provided any concurrent flow of the events. She is well aware that we know she's lying but maybe she's desperate too. "

Devasena shouted.
" Bring her here! "

Avanthika swiftly agreed.
" Please bring her here. "

Devasena looked at Avanthika with every strand of hatred she had in her body.
" So you fixed her with so much money, and with no much proof, that you aren't even afraid?
What the hell are you planning to do to my child??? What harm did she do to you Avanthika?? What harm did we do to you??? "

Devasena was breaking loose and gasping, female constables were trying to help, but Amarendra took position and held her by the shoulders straight.

He murmured,
" Why did you do this to me Sister Nancy? What not have I done for you in these two years? "

Avanthika sat stoned. Even her mind seemed to have started to stop functioning. She stared blank at Inspector Batra, who now looked straight at her.

" At what time did your plane land? 2 am right? "

She didn't even nod.

" And you straightway booked a cab to the hospital. But you stayed there hardly for an hour, and left just before the child went missing.
You were traced to be at a cafe around two hours later, you can have handed over the child to anyone else for anything within this time...  "

Devasena howled at this, while Avanthika shouted out.

" Just get over this bullshit! Are you people crazy??? Why will I do something to a baby? Am I out of my mind? "

" Yes you are Avanthika, YOU ARE!! "
Devasena was choking.

" Going by your logic I could have murdered you when you remembered nothing and I did. But I did not even want you to remember everything! This is what you make out? "

" Shut up for god's sake! I haven't forgotten anything which you had said after I remembered everything!!! Avanthika don't portray yourself to be so good now! You have been living with a fire inside and you've now done what you wanted to! Murdering me is less painful than murdering mine!!!! Do you get that??? "

Inspector Batra intervened again.

"Amar, can you please wait in the next room with her? She's utterly exhausted and we need to interrogate Avanthika as well. It's not possible this way...  "

Amarendra nodded.

"I will go nowhere! Do whatever you want to do inspector but get back my baby right now!!!!! "
Devasena won't move.

A sub inspector got in with a list.
" Sir, these are the calls that happened to the sister's phone last night. This particular number has called her several times. We are trying to trace the number. The number's switched off right now. "

" Good enough. You've got another number that might have been involved. But yet I'm being held this way, you people are crazy!!! Why don't you enquire into my call list, or if that number belongs to me?? "

Avanthika seemed to be fuming.

" Don't teach us our duty madam! When the parents themselves suspect only you, you need to be held. And you're just sitting here. So now kindly answer our questions. "

Just then a constable stormed into the police.
And his storming in rolled all the eyeballs towards him.

Because with his eyes widened, and perspirating, he held a baby in his arms... 

" Sir..... " , before he could say anything, Devasena almost pounced onto the child and took her from him.

"My... My baby..... My baby.... Amarendra, our child, our child..... '
And she began wailing, with everyone inside the police station dumbstruck.

Amarendra suddenly felt extremely weak, a huge load of apprehensions suddenly getting released, with the  mother reviving from the verge of being completely broken after loosing a child for the second time, Amarendra could now only let the load release as tears.

Later the constable let know, a car came suddenly out of nowhere, a man  got down, in a split second handed the baby to him, and a note, and before he could react, the car flew away.

Amarendra slowly opened the note.

" My mom and dad,

This was just to assure you that I'm extremely precious, and owing to your past, this can really happen to me anytime. I was not taken for anything else but safe confinement today, but who knows it won't be much safe the next time?
Be with me always, don't let me out of your sight for a split second, even with your most trusted individuals. I'm a princess and I know it, it's better I'm treated that way. I could have stayed in safe confinement for some more time, but actually both of us need both of us.
Hence, I'm back. Please assure I stay safe.

Amarendra stared dumbstruck at Devasena who wrapped the child closer to her arms, sobbing.

Then he looked at Avanthika.

Avanthika said nothing, though she very well could understand, who this could be.

She smiled within.

Such misunderstandings.
