Chapter 1
~Venom's P.O.V.~
I growled low as I flung at a hawk that was beginning to fly away. I grabbed its tail feathers in my claws and brung it back down. It flapped its wings and slowly brought me up to the sky. My heart raced as the rocks below looked like tiny ants in mere heartbeats.
I looked back at the hawk and bit down on his back and it screeched, my ears ringing. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to hold on. His talons caught my throat and I yelped in shock, letting go of the hawk. My legs flailed in the cool air and my heart pounded in fear.
I twisted my body so I could land but a branch hit my stomach and I began to spin in the air. My breath was drawn out of me and I fought to get air nto my lungs as the world around me whipped at me. I spotted the ground and I tried to scream but I had no voice what-so-ever and I began to panic more and more. I prepared myself for the unforgiving stone ground but just as the ground came to my face, my eyes shot open.
I panted from the nightmare and Sunny stirred beside me. I sighed and looked out of the small den where we slept. I turned my head to look if anyone else was awake, and Sunny was looking at me.
"Are you okay?" She asked me, concern filling her gaze. I nodded and stood up, arching my back in a long stretch, letting my claws unsheathe and then sheathe again once I felt my bones and muscles were good enough to walk on. I watched as Sunny slowly blinked her eyes closed and I padded out of the hole we call a den and around to find Shadow to see if he needed my help with anything.
I padded through the camp. No site of him what-so-ever. I decided to check outside of the camp, just in case. I padded toward the hole that took me to the river that bordered The Tribe of Jagged Rocks from us and saw Shadow's black back sitting in front of the river-border, back hunched. I stopped beside him to see him watching as the water slithered its way down the river. His ear flinched as I shifted my paws. "What are you doing out here?" I whispered, he turned to me and I saw sorrow in his eyes.
His mate, Blizzard, was killed by this river, she had fallen in and drowned only a half of a moon ago. He clearly couldn't get wrap his head around the fact that she was never coming back. He was so depressed lately, no one really knows what to do with him. He looked back down to the river and I realized that I couldn't do anything, honestly, if I were to tell him she would never come back he would claw my ears. 'Why do I feel bad for such a grieving mouse-brain like him? I should let him deal with his own problems.' I thought crossly.
I stood up and trotted away to go back to camp. Once I came to the entrance and walked into camp, I halted as I passed the pile of rotting skulls and looked up to the very top where Killer's skull rested.
Its been there for seasons upon seasons. He was the killer of them all. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I remembered the day he visited me in my dreams, just before I became a warrior... Legend says that if you see him in your dreams, what ever he says will come true. And mine was that I would be just like him and honestly, thats what I want. Well, half of my heart says, "No Venom! Walk in the Tribe of Glittering Stars path!" And the other half says, "Yes! Listen to Killer! Walk down the evil path! Its so much easier."
I turned around to see Sunny there, making me jump in surprise. "You almost scared my fur off my pelt!" I exclaimed quietly. She purred, "I saw you looking up there and I came to see you. You're always daydreaming, so its quite easy to sneak up on you without even trying." I smiled and mewed as charming as I could, "Want to come with me to go hunting?" I was hoping for a yes... We weren't officially mates yet, but by the way she looked at me, I knew she liked me back. The way her fur blows in the wind, her golden fur shining in the light, her voice as cute as it could get and the way she deals with apprentices... She nodded and butterflies set off in my stomach, tickling with my feelings. My pelt went hot as we set off down hill and to the edge of the moor, searching for something to say.
WindClan always found that there were new scents but they never tried to find us. Of course, they knew who we were, what we looked like and everything, but they rarely threatened us. Yes, we've had a few battles here and there, but not many... By not many I mean quit a few. They had been our enemies ever since the day they took our moor, along with ThunderClan who took our forest-territory. I never knew what it was like to run in the moor because by the time I was born, they had already taken our territory and won the Great Battle.
I stopped to check if they were there. Once I was sure I knew they weren't around snooping, I checked to see if there was anything around. And surprisingly there was a strong rabbit scent around. I didn't care if we went across the territory line, no one did for that matter. Skull let us roam across the territory line if we were up to it. It was our territory to begin with so we are aloud to go there, if we aren't scared.
I turned to Sunny who had already found it. 'Wow, she's quick.' I thought to myself. Her golden pelt was shining in the dawn light, and my heart urged to nuzzle her. A thought that she'd never be my mate crossed my mind, just for a heartbeat. I wanted to believe the look she gave me whenever she and I talked was love, not a "Tribe-mate friendly" kind of stare.
I mentally scratched my cheek for thinking so softly. 'Who am I, a fox-hearted she-cat in WindClan?' I thought to myself crossly. I crouched down waiting for her to pounce. After a few long heartbeats, she shook her haunches and leaped at the rabbit. She landed square on its back and the rabbit tried to get out from Sunny's grasp but failed when she put all her weight onto it, biting down quickly on its furry neck. "Great job!" I praised, sniffing it and smiling briefly at her.

Sunny and I dropped our prey into the fresh-kill pile and we padded our separate ways. I lightly ran to where Skull sat, he was on the sharp slate of rock where he watched WindClan. We were very high up in a mountain, so if any cat saw us, they would think we were loners or rouges. . . Hopefully anyway.
He turned to me and he looked back down. "These flea bags don't know what's gonna hit them," he sneered, his nose twitching. "We will attack at the next full moon but first we must get The Tribe of Jagged Rocks to unite with us." He turned to me, "And I want Shadow to never be a leader. You've had Killer come to you in your dreams, right?" Once I nodded, an evil smile crossed his face. "I want you to be the new deputy. Shadow will never be an evil leader like you. He'll never stop grieving for that dead she-cat. Before we leave I will announce you being the new deputy."
I dipped my head and my heart started pounding in excitement. 'Me? The new deputy?' I watched as the wind blew through the moor WindClan took from us. I growled at them and my lip curled in a snarl. 'They'll pay for what they've done.' I heard Skull walk off and I felt a new presence beside me. I turned my head to see the one and only, Killer.
"Well done, you are going to be the best leader I have ever seen," he praised me. I dipped my head and looked into his deep, amber eyes. "You will be just like me." Killer let out a low evil purr and padded over to the edge and looked down. I watched him cautiously through narrowed eyes and watched as he looked over the territories. "I can see you now, killing them all and taking over the territories below." He let out a small 'mrrow' of amusement and he turned back to me. "You know we're kin, right?" He asked as he circled me. I had to turn my head to watch him as he did so. I had to repeat what he said in my mind and I practically killed myself right then and there. 'I am? And no one told me until now?' I thought over and over again, but there was no possible way he could be kin with me. "Didn't you know? I'm Death's father." He growled, eyes narrowed to slits.
His shoulders were so built, his body covered in scars and claws longer then they should be. Eyes as red as blood yet as hard and cold as ice. Ice that can't be melted.
"You will always be deadly, like your father. Now, you confront Skull to go with the plan. I want those territories to be this Tribe's territory again and those cats below dead or a slave." He demanded, slamming his paw down onto the slate of rock. I nodded and ran off to where Skull was washing his chest. "We need to invade the four territories as soon as possible." I insited. He paused his washing and looked up to me with a confused look in his eyes. It took him a few heartbeats before he clued into what I was confronting him about.
"We can do it on the full moon Gathering only because we can't unite if we don't talk." He meowed sternly. "Well why can't we surprise them tonight and confront them then?" I pushed on. Honestly, I hadn't meant to, I just was pressed to do it.
He sighed then he thought for a long time. Finally, after a long time of just sitting there, he answered. "Alright. But I would like to announce that you will be my new deputy, too." He meowed, getting up and padding to the pile of skulls. I followed, jumping up with him and sitting down. "All cats old enough to kill gather for important news," Skull yowled. All cats rushed over to hear what it was about and I sat there, pondering if I should be proud to be the new deputy or not.
"Shadow, you have been grieving for too long and I am afraid you might never recover. I have chosen Venom to take your place." He announced and everyone exchanged glances. Shadow was very surprised that I was taking his place, his eyes wide with bewilderment and a bit of anger. His eyes looked more tired then anything. He hasn't gotten more then a heartbeat of sleep, I'd wake up to him curled up with eyes half open.
Skull stood up and touched my forehead with his nose, and in return I touched his shoulder with my nose. "Venom! Venom!" The Tribe cheered. I felt very happy by then; everyone seemed happy except for Shadow.
I raised my head in pride and rose up to my feet. Once they quieted down, I sat back down and waited until he announced the 'good' news. "We have more important news, too, so sit your haunches down!" He ordered harshly. The cats who had gotten up and thought they could leave sat down at his word. "Thank you. Now, we will go up to The Tribe of Jagged Rocks and persuade them to unite with us so we can destroy the four Clans below us." He meowed and I watched as all cats leaned in, only Fawn and Sunny not following.
They weren't evil, they didn't appreciate evil, so they stay, though I'm not sure why... "Venom, come with me. They may think we're out to attack them if I bring all of you with me." He finished. I stood up and trotted beside Skull. 'Good job, now make sure you win.' I heard a mean and deadly growl growl in my head and realized it was Killer. I nodded and pushed my paws farther on.
We were going to win our territory back, blood or no blood, death or no death, mercy or no mercy, I would fight till my death for that territory back.
