Fakhir was standing in front of the mirror lost in thoughts.

Annie,s sleep broke hearing Azaan. She looked at Fakhir who was sleeping like a child still holding her hand tightly. She looked at him with various emotions shinning in her eyes.

Ya Allah sote huye kitna pyaara lagta hai Fakhir.

Annie thought. Her heart skipped a beat.

She noticed the dried tear stains on his cheeks. Her heart clutched rather painfully in her chest. Her neck and shoulders were aching terribly but she didn't cared. She started running her fingers through his hair tenderly not knowing what to do. She blinked her eyes looking at his face. He looked so adorable and peaceful while sleeping.

Sh*t namaz ka time hai yeh toh.

Annie thought. She was about to get up but stopped feeling Fakhir,s tight hold on her.

Fakhir stirred in his sleep indicating that he's going to wake up anytime soon. He opened his sleepy eyes and looked at Annie. For a moment he thought he was dreaming but soon realized that she was here last night.

Annie tum yahan?

Fakhir asked shocked, opening his eyes fully.

Annie smiled slightly and nodded her head in positive.

Tum ne kaha tha ke mat jao.

Annie said, her voice a mix of tenderness and sincerity. Fakhir left her hand and she stood up.

Anyways uth jao namaz ka time hai yeh.

Annie said softly and left from there.

Flashback Ends!!!

Fakhir smiled. He couldn't help but feel a pang of tenderness in his heart admist the pain. His heart felt at peace as Annie,s words rang in his ears.

Tumne kaha tha mat jao.

And she stayed. She stayed by his side, she came to comfort him. He knew that it was dark outside and she was scared of darkness but still she came for him. She offered him her shoulder to lean on, she didn't judge him. She let him cry on her shoulder. In her eyes, there was no judgement just acceptance. She had accepted him the way he was which warmed his heart and made him fall for her all over again.

She came to him, fought with him to stay by his side, she held him, comforted him, the way she ran her fingers through his hair made him feel special. She stayed by his side the whole night just because he had said.

Fakhir want outside. Sameena (his mother) smiled at him as she served him breakfast.

Ammi Annie dikh nahin rahi. Kahan hai woh.

Fakhir asked worried upon not seeing Annie around.

Just then Annie came there. She was clad in her school uniform, hair tied up in a ponytail and her eyes were on the book.

Annie sat on the chair with the book still in her hand.

Fakhir stood up and crossed his arms across his chest.

Fakhir called out. Annie who was engrossed in studying got shocked and looked up hearing his voice.

Fakhir controlled his smile seeing her eyes wide and mouth half open in shock and kept his stern face.

Khana kha lo.

Fakhir said sternly.

Nahin Fakhir yeh bahot important hai

Fakhir cuts her off.

Everyone smiled seeing his concern for Annie except Ayesha who rolled her eyes.

Shh. Pehle breakfast karo.

Fakhir said, this time gently. Annie sighed. He extracted his hand in front of her and she passed him the book rolling her eyes as she whispered

Fakhir smiled shaking his head at her antics.

They were having breakfast when Fakhir pushed another toast into Annie's plate.

Fakhir main kha chuki hoon aur nahin khaya jayega.

Annie whinned childishly making him smile.

Pata hai kitna kha chuki ho.

Fakhir said sarcastically making everyone chuckle while Annie made a face.

He blinked his eyes silently asking her to eat. She whinned childishly but ate nevertheless.

Pata nahin itna khila ker kiya kerna hai.

Annie said munching on her toast.

Kya hai na tumhari energy drain ho gayi hogi itna padh padh ker toh energy de raha hoon.

Fakhir said sarcastically and Annie gulped knowing that he might have caught her studying late at night.

Sameena entered Ainne,s room.

Annie beta so jao kal exam hai na.

Sameena said. Annie nodded before replying still engrossed in her book.

Ji. Bas 30 minutes yeh ho hi gaya.

Sameena sighed in defeat. She was trying to make her sleep since last 30 minutes but this girl wasn't listening.

Bas 30 minutes.

Sameena said sternly Annie nodded her head in positive and sameena left from there not before kissing her forehead and wishing her good night.

Fakhir silently walked towards Annie,s room and sighed seeing her awake.

Aanie so jao yaar. Dekho 12 baj rahe hain.

Fakhir said with a sigh. He was worried about her health and here she was studying

Fakhir,s POV

I walked towards Annie who was busy studying keeping her health aside.

I said walking towards her. She looked at me in panic.

Annie kya hua?

I asked her worried seeing her panicked state.

Fakhir mujhe kuch nahin aata.

She told me panicking, almost on the verge of crying. I sighed and took a step towards her. She was the topper and was getting panicked for no reason.

I looked at her and my heart melted.

Annie tumhe sab aata hai. Tum bas aise hi tensed ho rahi ho.

I told her calmly.

Nahin Fakhir. Mujhe kuch nahin aata main fail ho jaungi.

She told me almost on the verge of crying.

Annie it's nothing like that.

I said to her. My heart was breaking seeing her crying. Seeing her pain kills me uncountable deaths. I felt a lump raising in my throat and I hesitantly held her hand. I composed myself realizing it was unusually warm. I looked at her in panic. I kept my hand on her forehead and then on her cheeks. I felt my heart sinking. She had fever.

Aanie leave it. Chodo isse.

I said hurriedly taking the books from her hand and made her stand.

Kya hua Fakhir?

She asked me. I closed my eyes tight to control my anger. This girl had fever and she's questioning me what happened Fakhir.

I made her lay on the bed. I looked at her. She looked so beautiful and innocent that my heart melted like an ice cream in the Summer.

Annie tumhe fever hai.

I replied her concerned.

It's normal Fakhir. Let me study.

I made a face hearing her.

No it's not.

I said to her trying to control myself from lashing out.

Lay down.

I said.

But mera exam...

Exam mera bhi hai Annie.

I cut her off. I looked at her and took a deep breath. I smiled at her softly.

But mujhe ek question yaad nahin ho raha.

She said to me. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Unable to control myself, I sat besides her and wiped her tears gently. I felt her shiver under my touch.

Ainne pehle tumhara fever kam ho jaye then I promise main tumhe khud poori book yaad kerwa doonga. Hum donon saath mein padege.

I said softly, my voice a mix of tenderness and assurance and she nodded like a child. My innocent Annie.

I walked out of the room and came back with a thermometer.

I checked her fever and gasped in shock seeing it 104.

OH GOD.

I gasped and looked at her.

Yehin rehna. I'll be back.

I said and rushed towards the kitchen. Everyone was sleeping and I didn't knew what to do.

I took some biscuits some strips along with cold water and rushed back to her room.

Yeh kha lo.

I said giving her the biscuits.

Mujhe nahin khana.

She whinned childishly.

Annie tumhein bukhar hai. Kha lo phir medicine le lena. Kal exam bhi hai na agar exam likhte waqt zyada tabiyat kharab ho gayi toh?

I said worriedly. I just wanted her fever to come down. My heart was sinking with each second that ticked by.

She nodded and ate a few biscuits, then I made her eat the bitter pill. I made her lay down on the bed.

Relax.

I said softly noticing that she was about to say something. She stopped and breathed deeply.

I sat besides her and dipped the strips in cold water and placed them on her forehead. She shivered at the cold sensation. I held her hand and squeezed it gently and she relaxed.

I continued doing it until God knows how much time. I checked her temperature and sighed in relief seeing it a little less.

I looked at the clock. It was already 02:00am.

I stood up and walked towards her study table and took her book.

I made her sit on the bed keeping pillows behind her back.

I asked her questions and not so surprisingly, she answered all of them correct.

Konsa question yaad nahin ho raha tha tumhe?

I asked her softly and she told me the question.

Half half ker ke ker lete hain question.

I said softly and she nodded her head in positive like a child.

I helped her in learning the question.

Mujhe yaad ho gaya.

She said excited like a child and I smiled at her.

See maine kaha tha na?

I asked her and she nodded.

Now sleep.
I said and she nodded her head in positive laying down on the bed.

I patted her head softly. She looked at me with sleepy eyes and said, her voice caressed with sleep.

I smiled and covered her with the blanket, continuing to pat her head
